once the B1G is colloquilly referred to as "the Michigan league" in the Harbaugh era.

I think that was the point.

I think "Priceless Stud, Last Hope of the Human Race" is more appropriate.

five Michigan basketball jersey numbers have been "retired".
But of course, it's Wikipedia, and the article also states:

Bo's last Rose Bowl winning team was the 1988 squad. Michael Taylor won the starting QB job and started until he was injured late in the season. Demetrius Brown stepped in as the backup in wins over Ohio State and the 22-14 Rose Bowl win over USC. Without Googling, I'm not sure when Michael Taylor was injured, but Brown threw the game winning pass to Kolesar at OSU and played the whole Rose Bowl game.

have long since passed, so NYE was perfectly fine for me.
But to think that the hordes that do go out for NYE would change their ways was insanely foolish.
Maybe they believed their own commercial?

Derrick Henry scored a 1 yd TD to put Bama up 7-0. MSU went three-and-out on the next possession. Bama drove from their own 27 to the MSU 30 for a 47 FG w/ 1:25 left.
Sparty finally showed an offensive pulse on the ensuing possession, and drove to the Alabama 12 with 23 seconds left. A chance to get back to within one (lucky) score, which considering MSU's offensive production, they desperately needed. Connor Cook then proceeded to throw an INT into the end zone, and the game went into halftime with MSU down 10 points, a mountain of a deficit considering how MSU had been stifled offensively.
Alabama started the 3rd quarter with a 75 yard TD drive. Game over.

"The senseless waste of pitting these two mighty forces of nature against each other, like matter vs. anti-matter, will be a tragedy, not only for the teams involved.." [ flips card over ] "..but for our planet. All nations must band together, to ensure that such a conflagration never takes place."

You're stuck in Ohio, while the OP is returning home from Texas from a family reunion that his parents are throwing Saturday, October 1st. He's hoping to package the whole thing up with a trip to the Big House for the first time in 6 years to see Michigan beat Wisconsin, but he's am hesitant to pull the trigger on a ticket if it is going to severely interfere with his party. A noon game time would be perfect for him. A 3pm game time, he'd still find manageable. A night game would be a non-starter.
He knows a lot of people here have their ear much more firmly to the ground on these kinds of things than he does. He's wondering if there is any hint at all for when the game will be starting. If not, he wants to know if anyone has an idea when the announcement will be made. He thinks it's kind of a pain to have to keep checking daily to decide when to pull the trigger.
"Well, Prince, so Genoa and Lucca are now just family estates of the Buonapartes. But I warn you, if you don't tell me that this means war, if you still try to defend the infamies and horrors perpetrated by that Antichrist—I really believe he is Antichrist—I will have nothing more to do with you and you are no longer my friend, no longer my 'faithful slave,' as you call yourself! But how do you do? I see I have frightened you—sit down and tell me all the news."
(Sorry, couldn't resist.)
