That basketball score That basketball score Illinois game back in 2010 had Denard go out injured and Forcier finish it off. So while more than 4 touchdowns were probably thrown, they were split between two quarterbacks.

Take it from a Mormon. I can Take it from a Mormon. I can tell you the draw to go back to Utah and the west is very much real.

Some Mormons do like it back east, but most do not. Even those that go to school back east do not stay long term.

Living all over may be slightly encouraged, but not really, and is certainly not taken as a permanent assignment. It is common for young single Mormons to move east to experience life, get education etc., but even they are in the minority compared to those that stay out west. And even those that do go east, the vast majority of the time they end up back west again. Now that's the case with single young unattached LDS. Families also move east and many stay. But even more of them end up moving back to be closer to family. I'm not judging it. I'm just telling it like it is. There are plenty of exceptions. I grew up in Michigan and went to college and grad school in the east. But I was born and raised away from the west. Most Mormons who stay east are from the east.

I'm not a non-Mormon jumping to conclusions. I'm a Mormon sharing some insight

I've seen many families move I've seen many families move out to Michigan from Utah to take promising jobs in the auto industry. They're lured out by the fact that the pay and prestige is far better than any job available to them in Utah.

Usually though after a year or so being so far from the rest of the extended family in Utah gets too hard. It can sort of feel like an exile situation, or that they're "out in the mission field."

Now having been born and raised in Michigan myself, I've never had any desire to live in Utah, and the mitten is my homeland. But I understand where they're coming from.

Even if the Mormon population in Corvalis isn't much larger or the same as Madison, it's not a liberal like Madison, the terrain feels more like home, it's a shorter distance to family and the homeland, and the percentage of their children's classmates that are Mormon is like larger.

You wanna know why Gary You wanna know why Gary Andersen left Wisconsin? Because he's Mormon and from Utah. As a Mormon who grew up in Michigan, let me tell you that traditional Mormons from our west do not like it in this part of the country one bit. Aside from their discomfort toward the mountain-less landscape, they can't handle how small the Mormon community is. They prefer to socialize within a circle of their own faith, which in Madison is very very small. It creates an entirely new lifestyle for his family. If he has children still in school, then that to me is the nail in the coffin. I would expect that to be the number one issue. They didn't want their kids having to grow up in a community without greater opportunities for Mormon friends

It's not really about anything more than that. Oregon is far more comfortable than Madison for a Mormon family. Especially one that is born and spent most their life in Idaho and Utah.

This is not meant in a derogatory way. It's just the truth. Trust me on that.

We should retain Hoke because We should retain Hoke because he didn't lose every single game. There's always next season though.

I disagree that we need I disagree that we need someone who has been there and done that, it by that you mean they've already led a major program to championships.

I think that would be ideal but other programs found great success getting someone up and coming. I think of Florida and Urban Meyer. Michigan and Bo. Even USC and Pete Carroll.

I'd like to send a letter to I'd like to send a letter to Dave Brandon that just says "I suggest you find another team. No one will miss you"

Or whatever it was he said.

Whatever Hoke's philosophy Whatever Hoke's philosophy is, I want the furthest thing from it please.

The points made in that

The points made in that letter were hollow and entirely uncompelling, if not nonsense.

1.  The mission and purpose of the boycott is to effect change in leadership of the athletic department and football team, not to disrespect, isolate or in any way harm the players.  The purposes have been abundantly clear and unambiguous.  This kind of "support our troops" argument distracts the issue and unfairly miscategorizes the purposes of the boycott.  Saving feelings is impossible in life, the best you can do is know the true intent of your actions and be clear in communicating them.  What others decide to feel is their choice.  Arguing 'support our troops' is hollow, disingenuous or naive.  I don't care which.

2.  This point seems to be just a hollow echo of the first, support our troops.  It adds the idea that in a time of turmoil and uncertainty, the best way to improve the situation and fix problems is to maintain status quo.  Don't do anything to upset the team.  Absurd and illogical, no point wasting breath on that argument.

3.  Probably the weakest of the three, quite a feat.  As leaders, innovators, inventors etc., we should put off taking actions or upsetting the balance or status quo, in favor of "trusting" and compliance.  Name any innovator or inventor that found success in their endeavors because they eschewed upsetting the apple cart in favor of trusting the system and falling in line.  Particularly within a clearly broken system, prioritizing 'trust' and obedience is the path to anything but leadership, innovation and invention.

I'm truly disappointed to see such a horrible argument from someone at an elite university.

It's more clear to me each It's more clear to me each week that the problem with Michigan is Michigan.

Pigs will fly. Hell will freeze. Pigs will fly. Hell will freeze.
Joey Galloway is an idiot,

Joey Galloway is an idiot, right?  I don't know much about him, but did I pick up on that correctly?

He really just doesn't get it.  It's not about Hoke needing to personally evaluate the health of the player.  But correct if I'm wrong, doesn't it fall on the coach to be aware of what is happening to his players on the field and to get them off the field if their health and well-being is in question/jeopardy?  It's just so fitting that accountability is such a popular term for Hoke to throw around.

Thank you, Brian. Amen. Thank you, Brian. Amen.
Well now I feel way better. Well now I feel way better. Hoke has done a fabulous job and Michigan is adequate.
I find it completely I find it completely inexcusable that Hoke could be unaware of what is happening with his starting quarterback on the field. He's the only person in the stadium being paid millions of dollars to be aware of those kids. Especially those currently on the field, and especially a starting quarterback.

This level of incompetence is probably the root of much of the teams issues. He is clearly in over his head and has failed his primary responsibilities of protecting players and leading them to success.

It's fascinating to see how much is he is failing and how quickly things can implode.
Hard to have a vertical Hard to have a vertical passing game with an O line that can't protect, wide receivers that aren't getting much separation and a quarterback with accuracy issues. Just saying.
Fire everyone. Dead serious. Fire everyone. Dead serious.
This is what we get after 4 This is what we get after 4 years and all his recruits? This is year 4. My god this is year 4. This is Hoke.
Fire everyone or join the MAC. Fire everyone or join the MAC.
If a coach is judged by what If a coach is judged by what he does and what he produces then Brady Hoke is not a good coach.
We are a MAC team. Can't We are a MAC team. Can't move forward with accepting where you are.
Hoke does make football teams Hoke does make football teams look better. They're just our opponents.
Was that a timeout for a punt? Was that a timeout for a punt?
Exactly. Besides, I'd rather Exactly. Besides, I'd rather be building for another 3 years then have another 3 years of guaranteed MAC runner-up quality.

The calculus should be simple. In year 4 you know what you have with Hoke. You also should know what you would like your team to be. Do the two things come close to matching? No? Then there's only one rational thing to do. I could understand if there is simply no coach in America better than Hoke and you're just stuck, but come on. Really? Michigan can't afford to get any coach better than this and has to wait around until it can? Ok then...
No, a mediocre MAC coach No, a mediocre MAC coach keeping the reigns is what guarantees mediocrity. Wake up.
So we should stick with what So we should stick with what we KNOW doesn't work instead of taking a chance? That's brilliant.

Great thinking. Guaranteed mediocrity instead of finding solution and taking chances has always been the path to greatness.
I don't care about Michigan I don't care about Michigan men. Screw all that stuff that hasn't mattered in 20 years. Look at who can make us successful while maintaining integrity and pay whatever you have to pay.

This much talent and you can't even get a touchdown at home against Utah? Rodriguez kept the game within 3 in our worst season against arguably Utah's greatest season.
Fire everyone Fire everyone
I don't know you, but I already like you I don't know you, but I already like you
I promised myself after I promised myself after Nebraska not to watch another Michigan game until we have a new offensive coordinator. It's misery and an abusive relationship according to my therapist.

Thank god I've lived true to that promise. How on earth does that man get to keep coaching offense at Michigan, let alone get paid money to do it?
Accountability

The coaches have loved to emphasize accountability.  If accountability is truly a virtue of this football program, Al Borges will be gone after this year (if not others along with him).

There are many reasons why our offense may be struggling this season.  But very few of those reasons, if any, relieve Al Borges of accountability.

To me, Borges has now become GERG.

Actually You can have your own major news network for that matter.
