Thank God...

Thought I was the only one who noticed that Peppers tackle all the way from center field. The way he caught that angle and accelerated through it was absolutely amazing. Those who havent played football truly dont understand the speed, timing, and explosiveness that took. If we get a couple more of those defenders, it's lights out for the country. Also the way Peppers tackles so aggressively, ripping people down. I want to see more of that from others on the defense.

I would love to agree with everyone

... But im tired of coming up short guys. I understand theres some good to be taken from this game. Jobs were saved, lineman actually blocked, and Gardner was spotless. But its just time that we all stop giving slack and start jumping the gap. Whether we kept the game close or not, Ohio clearly was a machine. Theyre offense was unstoppable and more efficient. Yea we had like 600 total yards but it seemed like we barely made the plays that kept drives alive. I just want to get back to the days where we have a bread and butter. Something we can fall on when all else fails... (i.e. Ohios Run Game). We brought great effort and maybe two or three open field tackles could have won us the game, but its still a loss in my book.

Either way you look at it

The Michigan name brand that we've been leaning on the past 20 years is on a 20 year decline. Every single year we disappoint expectation. Something needs to change. Soon.

Every thing you said was spot

Every thing you said was spot on.

Sucks

Im not usually the fan that blames one player or play/instance in a game for a loss, but it really sucked seeing my boy Stribling miss two opportunities to close the game for us on defense. It made half sense putting a 6'2 corner on Robinson even though Stribling is a frosh, and putting him in zone coverage over the Penn State Tight end; whatever his name was. On that catch by their tight end Stribling was in perfect position to intercept that ball, but sadly it was tipped and the catch was made. Then on that 20+ yard pass to the goal line to Robinson, Stribling was in perfect position to make the play but jumped just a tad early and Robinson made a remarkeable catch. Those two plays could have won the game, save the 3 missed field goals by Gibbons, but thats a whole other rant and rage filled paragraph. We've sucked so far this year and have been saved by pure luck, and those missed plays in crunch time signified the wake up call for this team. We gotta make the plays that are there to be made. All offseason i said Stribling was my pick to be a standout player in these next couple of years, i hope to see the team rally around the young guy, and start focusing as a team on making plays when it matters let alone all game long. Its gonna be a long November otherwise.

I... also disagree. Vernon Hargreaves is listed at 5'11 185 but he was without a doubt the consensus TOP CORNER in the 2013 class. I don't really see Brian's perception of Lewis' size as an underlying factor in his ability to play. Raymon Taylor was the same size just about when he came to UM and he can tackle just fine. The kid has serious cover skills and I don't think he should be disregarded in such a way. Basically your telling us that his size and school history completely trump his ability to play corner? That's not right at all. I think he'll be the best corner on our roster when he gets a chance to play alongside Countess. Definitely don't see him red-shirting. Ross Douglas was given a chance and I think the coaches would without a doubt give Lewis an equal opportunity to succeed. I love the size of Dawson, Stribling, and Dymonte... But Lewis has the best cover skills of them all. We can mix in those bigger guys in different situations. But I see Countess and Lewis as our starting corners in a year. If Peppers commits, i see him and Countess starting with Lewis at nickel; Dymonte moved to FS Jarrod Wilson to SS. Bold prediction but hey. What the hell.
My money is definitely on My money is definitely on Jourdan Lewis surprising everyone when he gets on campus. May be the most naturally gifted and fluent CB we have besides Countess. I'm telling you I see potential.
What about the SEC?

None of this even matters. (Not to discredit this post) But it really doesnt matter at all what we think. The SEC isnt going anywhere out of the south to play anyone. The SEC is so stuck up, they wont even accept Home and Away series' with BIG 10 schools. They wont play up north. They think theyre too good to come to us. As far as the B1G, i like te sound of San Diego, and please baby jesus no more NYD games. So yea, if the New York thing does happen, or any other venue above the Mason Dixon... Suck it SEC.

Ummm

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but i feel obligated to ask what the Michigan shirt means for George Campbell. Felt I should maybe ask before premature excitment arouses.

I really hope the 2013 class

I really hope the 2013 class wasnt pure luck. Im tired of us not being able to go south and pick up the high rated guys. But hey, ratings dont mean everything but im sure im not the only one whos been itching for a 5-star WR or a 5-star DB. Hope that Hoke can pull the trigger on someone, and please Meyer stop spreading trash.

That damn Espn. That's why I hate Espn. Damn biased bastards. I don't see how Shane could have dropped that far down. What, because he didn't throw for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Under Armor game so he drops out of the top 100? Get the hell outta here. Espn does this every year. And how does Mike McCray drop? He hasn't even played in a game for weeks now. Yet Jourdan Lewis is our top recruit now? Lol WHAT? I'm mean he's an outstanding corner from his film at SMSB but what happened to ESPN'S hype about Shane? This is ridiculous. Our class is top notch yet we get kicked in the balls again.
See, this is what pisses me off. No no that we have new jerseys, but the pure ignorance of this post. First off, the jerseys themselves were designed with the help of the seniors. Your not the ones playing in the jerseys, THEY ARE. They approved the design. All you have to do is read the article and it will tell you. Second, there is nothing wrong with these jerseys at all and in my opinion, anything is better than our primary dull, and boring jerseys. Almost every other team on the rise is trying new twist to their uniforms. And actually Florida State has made a lot of changes to their jerseys and accessories. Any team with decent jerseys is signed to Nike. Just look when they played Virginia Tech last month. We have the oldest jerseys in college along with Notre Dame and Penn State and it's time for a change. To hell with your beloved "tradition" with the jerseys that trash is overrated. Oregon has the tradition of LOOKING AWESOME every game and obviously recruits like it enough to de-commit from Michigan every year. Even Leon McQuay released a statement a few months ago telling how he loves their jersey combinations and obviously it's bringing in recruits, why would everyone say it is if it wasn't? That just doesn't make sense. You guys may be in denial about it but whether you guys like it or not, PLAYERS LIKE LOOKING GOOD!!! Honestly these jerseys, the cowboys classics, and the all white legacy jerseys are the best jerseys we've ever had. It has nothing to do with kids, that joke has no validity. Only these damn discussion boards pick out the dumbest sh*t to complain about. Maybe if we go back to Nike this will all be solved. I'm sure they'll find a more creative way to design a primary jersey than old ass Adidas jerseys. We look so out of date, bulky, and unathletic. I hate to say it but Ohios new pro combat jerseys are nice, but If we have it your guys way, well only have two jerseys in our closet for every game. We need to move with the times.
Great Pick Ups!!! Two good players added to a solid class. But Jourdan Lewis on Offense? Nooooo. Let Dukes and York get some early playing time. Jourdan is too great of a cornerback. Probably will be the best one we've had since Morgan Trent left. He's a pure corner. Good feet, great man coverage, and makes plays. I can see him starting along side Channing Stribling in 2014. Stribling who can play as our deep covering corner because of his size. Sort of how Alabama used Dee Milliner. Maybe put Ross Douglas in the slot. Or better yet in a few years if we can get Damon Webb. He's OUTSTANDING at corner an I think he'll be the best corner out of Michigan the past 3 years. Did you guys watch his film when he hardly shut down Treadwell in one on ones?? It was crazy!!!
My comprehension is quite My comprehension is quite clear. It just amuses me that you blindly believe what ever these writers say. They could tell you pigs can fly and you'll believe. Trust me, no one knows where Green is going. They don't know what's in that kids mind. Look at Conley and Dawson. Just because a Michigan writer says Green is favoring Michigan doesn't mean it's 100% true. Of course it's biased towards Michigan. Look what they were writing about Treadwell for so long. "Michigan is front runner for Treadwell" "He liked his visits and will probably commit". Now look at LaQoun, Posing in his twitter picture with an Ole Miss jersey. Open your eyes buddy.
Didn't say Shane Morris was Didn't say Shane Morris was the only good guy he's just the only Top ranked at his position player that we have besides Bosch and Kugler. I'm saying we need to pull in a top 3 WR at that position, or a top 3 LB at that position. I'm asking why can't we pull in the top position players. Obviously our class is great if its in the top 10 but it just doesn't have the top guys.
Damn I hate to be that guy but what the hell is going on? We start out as the number 1 recruiting class for '13. Now we're at 6 and continuing to drop. We lose Su'a Cravens to USC, Dawson Decommits (even though he's back in the mix), Conley is gone and to be disrespectful even though he's a kid it's like he spit in our face going to OSU. What does he see in OSU that UM wouldn't give him? But nooooo you guys won't go into that matter. Anyways... Now LaQuon is GONE. And Green and McQuay are giving no hints. I mean why can't we pull in big guys beside Shane Morris? Why can't Michigan pull in these top skill position recruits? Not saying that ratings and hype is everything but it's pretty damn accurate I would say. What do all these recruits see in other schools that makes them so much better than Michigan? How come there's no 5 star guy saying "Michigan is my number one choice" ??? There's something every Michigan writer and blog editor is avoiding. They keep giving this false hope that we can get these other half decent guys to fill in those spots. But I'm not buying it. Our class is good. But imagine what it would be if we pulled in Cravens, Green, Treadwell, McQuay, Dawson, and Conley and kept them as solid recruits?? Just saying. Don't get butt hurt.
AVERY??? NOOOOOOOO I like Blake Countess and Raymon at corners. But I'm sorry Courtney Avery is downright TERRIBLE. First that clumsy touchdown he gave up the first play he got into the game vs Alabama. Then all year he gave up a lot of key 3rd down conversions in the slot when he even got a chance to touch the field. Sorry but I'd rather have Terry Richardson in there. I just hope we can land McQuay and if we do, put him in the slot because I seem his film and he throws receivers off the line. He's so physical at corner. He in all seriousness could start at nickel. Then move to the FS when Gordon leaves.
SMH The only thing I have to say is if it ain't broke don't fix it. When Devin Gardner throws the ball to Roundtree and Gallon good things happen. Like why take Garnder out the game to bring in Denard for waisted plays then bring Gardner back in on 3rd and 20 and expect him to keep rhythm? He did that in the first half then Borges comes out in the 2nd with that shit? I mean Borges..... If running a halfback or QB up the middle on 3rd or 4th down doesn't work twice... WHY KEEP DOING IT? He let our seniors and defense down. Hoke needs to wear a headset and help Borges make better decisions when we play good teams. 4 good teams an 4 losses when Borges calls scared as plays. Of course Hoke will remain loyal to him. And Borges kept trying to e loyal to Denard, fuck that we need to win. With 2 fucking minutes on the clock then Hoke sneaks on a damn headset with the game out of reach. Like what kind of coaches are we hiring? He looks like a fuckin strength and fitness coach on the sideline. Mattison is the only coach as far as I'm concerned that how's up every game and consistently gets results. Hoke says headsets are overrated. Michigan one of the top defenses and 1st against the pass under Mattison. By the way Hoke, he wears a headset.
And of course they vote me And of course they vote me down because they know its the truth. Win for me.
Wow I can't believe Michigan lost Treadwell. This is outrageous. Tired of this shit. Can we please get our hands on a 5 star. I understand you guys have so much faith in our team and always say Michigan is so prestigious but come on now. How have we not pulled the trigger on any top national recruits at a position besides Shane Morris? God damn man. Some of you guys need to open your eyes. Michigan is just barely getting by. I don't see any 5 star players in 2014 saying "damn Michigan is the shit. That's my top choice". NO!!! We're always just "in the mix" or a "top 3". Like really lets get back on our elite shit. We got the stadium, fan base, budget so obviously there's something else keepin these guys away. I mean look at Su'a Cravens. Picked USC over UM when he had them both in his top 2. What was the deciding factor because look at USC now. And fuck whoever rates these comments. I don't give a damn about a MGoScore.
2013 Def Lineup

SS: Gordon

FS: Leon McQuay(if committ)/ J. Wilson

CB: McQuay/ Taylor

CB: Countess

LB: Ross (MLB)

LB: Morgan (Weak)

LB: Ryan (Strong) often lined up over slot.

I think McQuay would be the best corner we have. Hes extremely physical. I watched his tape and he throws receivers off the line. They cant even run their routes. Although i secretly wish Michigan would have been more agressive with Cravens or Priest Willis to get us another tall CB. James Ross' instincts are very good. And i think McCray has the definite potential to start at weak side his sophomore year.  I just hope our Defensive line gets back to the 2011 strength.

Upside?

I think he has an ENORMOUS upside. I think the rankings he has on all scouting websites is disrespectful. I think he is a 4 star athlete if not a close 5. He clearly stands out from any and all of our recruits as far as skilled players, and the competition he goes against every game. I knew he was gonna be a sleeper so ive been following his stats and boy to they absolutely destroy any other recruit we have in the 2013 class. I think he more than fills in the spot of Gareon and if you ask me, i think he can start his freshman year. Just my opinion.

NOT A JOKE

This is an excerpt from a Leon McQuay interview with ESPN just posted. You can go look right now: http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncfrecruiting/on-the-trail/post?id=22871

Leon Says:

"It was a great experience. You actually have to visit and see the place in person to do it justice and [to] get a full impact of what's going on there," McQuay Jr. said. "Everything about it was great. All the way down to how many uniform combinations they have."

All we can do...

All we can do is just have hope we can get the deal done with Green, Treadwell, and L3.  I think Channing Stribling, (if he plays corner), will be a darkhorse in our secondary. Along with Jourdan Lewis and Ross Douglas. Next year i think we'll have even better DB's, and i think Hoke should continue to go after big (size) corners in the future. Rankings dont mean anything to me. No one really knows how these guys will play until they get on the field and get better while making a difference.  It would be nice if we had another 6'1 corner to play back there with Channing.  Hopefully next year we can get a big corner to play alond with Damon Webb in the future. Damon is a lock down type, and a bigger guy can stop the vertical threats.

So your saying Jones left CMU

So your saying Jones left CMU for a better team (UM), so that would mean you think Oregon is a better team than UM?

Just goes to show just how

Just goes to show just how much recruiting a guy early and showing interest early really means nothing to some of the players. In the end theyll always go to where their heart lies.

Sadly, Thats what happens

Sadly, Thats what happens when you can recruit nationally.

And im not just saying OSU im

And im not just saying OSU im talking everywhere else also.  The SEC and the far West have all the athleticism and talent.  Look at a team like LSU/Bama/Florida, mostly black players on O and Defensive line, all pure athletes, they have athletic WR's, RB's, and even on defense they have huge fast and athletic LB's. Thats the reason why teams in the SEC control the trenches and dominate teams in other conferences.  The south has naturally bigger and faster guys just like Lee Corso said a few saturdays ago. Until Hoke can go out and recruit real athletes in the south such as a Leon McQuay, i think Michigan will continue to bite at the ankles of the Elite and never succomb to legit relevance in a while. And your niave to think OSU has no athletes. Thats why their undefeated.

Its sad i have to say this

Its sad i have to say this because im a die hard of all die hard UM fans, but Minds like yours are the reason we came into the season ranked #8 because guys like you overrated the guys we have, ending in the ultimate turmoil of a hypothetically "Relevant" season and being embarrassed on national TV 41-14 fair and square.  Our players get hyped up because they play for Michigan and they turn out the same these past 6 years.  You guys really need to get your heads out of your asses and look around. Compare top 5 teams and their talent to ours. Oh wait your right... THERES NO COMPARISON. You guys still havent explained to me who our stars are besides Denard, whether on O or D... I'll wait.

Also

Also alot of people don realize that alot of the recruits take into consideration (as lame as it sounds) the uniforms.  Adidas is killing us right now. Yellow pants already make us look a little on the Jenny Craig side but just everything about our jerseys make us look sloppy. When i see defensive backs running around with shoulder pads the size of lineman pads it baffles me how Adidas designs their stuff. Its horrible. Michigan state shows us up everytime we play with those Nike Elite jersey designs, (new ones every year). Nike jerseys are just much more sleek and are more up with the times. Adidas takes us back to 95 when everyone sported loose sleeves and short jerseys with their bellys hanging out.  Hopefully UM signs with Nike in '17.

Oh

Every other player we're considering is irrelevant. These average linebackers and linemen we're trying to get will eventually lead us to the "OH" so familiar feeling of ... "why dont we have athletes like OSU? or every other team in the entire NCAA?"  Im tired of Michigan going after these non-athletic garbage players that everyone sees as a "safe option". NO!!!! We need athletes and pure blooded football players.  We need to set all our sights on McQuay and Treadwell, if we dont sign both of them ill consider this years recruiting class a fail.  We have just enough to get by and not enough to be a relevant contender.  There is absolutely no excuse for Hoke not to sign those two.  Seems like every team in the top 10 classes has at least 1 or more true athletes and stars on either side of the ball. Whos our star? Besides Morris. USC coming off all those sanctions and they still manage to have the #1 recruiting class and sign players like Cravens, gain high interest from McQuay and sign the #2 QB Max Browne. Theres no excuse for Michigan who is argueably the most prestigious team in history.  Signing McQuay and Treadwell can get us back on track to being Elite. Anything else is Horsesh#t!!

My point is being price right My point is being price right before our eyes.
Not sold Sorry but last week they had Michigan beating MSU 28-7. Ended up winning by 2 off of field goal. I'm sorry but I'm still not sold on our offense against good teams (I.e. Alabama, Notre Dame, MSU) I think UM barely wins this if at all 14-12. Just my opinion. Our offense isn't consistent yet.
Kicks* Kicks*
Forget everything else Right now, we need Treadwell, McQuay, and Green. Our coaches need to focus that's why Bama licks ass in recruiting. They don't play around with "ifs" and "maybe" recruits, they go after a specific group of guys and get the job done. No one else should matter right now in our 2013 class unless they're a certain committ if the previous 3 don't come.
UM 28 MSU 7

Michigan 28 --- Michigan State 7

250 Rushing Yards

Why fail to perceive the obvious? In all seriousness, we need to go all out for Treadwell, and McQuay. Green is not as good as he's ranked. As god is my witness. I go to the neighboring school in Richmond that he attends. I've seen him play against my schools football team and their sub par defense. He has good blocking. Great speed but no vision. We need to offer starting roles to both McQuay and Treadwell. Do anything to get them on campus. We need to compete next year. No excuses. Can you say Lebron repeat? Who's up for buying brand new 2013 Benz's for Leon and Laqoun? LOL
