that's unfortunate, but at least the interest is there on both sides

- Hatch is going on medical - it only makes sense. He himself has said he can't do what he wants - guarantee he's still part of the team, still practices, still there on the bench as a manager or student coach. Right now, he's an inspiration, but athletically he's not able to do anything on the basketball court. He'd still be on scholarship (medical) and part of the team just as if he were on an athletic scholarship.

Robinson may not get a 5th year

I never liked the special stained lockers...that was a bit much. The Brady piece is a nice touch, I think we need to do more to honor legends who aren't, well, passed away.
|10 hours 28 min ago||Not at all||
But the mob mentality is stupid...people getting worked up over literally nothing.
Save it for things that matter, like Shane Morris/Concussion or Dave Brandon. Otherwise, you dilute it and no one takes you seriously when it's time to be serious.
I spoke directly with an Associate AD at OSU last week about this and he told me about this sale thing while we rode in the car together. Said they've been trying like hell to tamper the expectations and get people to realize it's not even good "stuff" they're selling. The good stuff was the chrome helmets OSU has worn...that's about it.
So because people chose to ignore the messages, they can now get all worked up? I mean, that's silly.
I have absolutely nothing to do with that damn school and even I know the shit wasn't any good. You mean to tell me someone willing to stand in line for 3 hours didn't know? I didn't even go looking for the information.
That's all. I just think it's silly that some (not all) think they can feed the mob, and that's what passes these days. Sometimes, I'm all for it...like I said, concussions, Brandon, absolutely. But going ape shit because Harbaugh wants to watch a movie or going crazy because you stood in line and didn't get to buy a jock strap seems dumb in my eyes.
But that's just me.
|10 hours 36 min ago||No bingo.||
Because alcohol wasn't the only reason I said it wasn't allowed.
It's certainly a big part of the equation, but so is the contract they have with their concessionaire - whoever that may be. And I guarantee that contract says they have to enforce a no outside food/drink policy. And yes, they probably make a SHIT ton off the contract, and the concessions folks make a shit ton off the $4 water. Most of which goes back to them - not the University.
|10 hours 39 min ago||Nope.||
It's actually not unsafe at all when they sell the water.
Also, they have heat management procedures and policies. Guarantee if it's over a certain degree on the heat index they'll waive the no water policy (just like most every other school that has the policy).
They'll also set up misting stations in addition to allowing you to bring water in.
Considering I've worked at Ohio St, Maryland, UCF among other schools and ALL have the exact same policy, I think I know what I'm talking about.
Which is why I know people don't like it (hence the downvotes), but in the end...I understand why the policy is in place.
Like I said, yes, they don't allow outside food and drink per their contract with their concessionaire. But it's also about alcohol.
You, and a few others, chose to only read the alcohol part --- it's also plain and simple, no outside food or drink. Shit, that have that rule at soccer and softball games.
Now if concessions isn't selling that item, sometimes you can bring it in. For example, on a cold morning, if concessions isn't selling coffee, most places let you bring your coffee to the game (any outdoor sport). On a hot day, if they're not selling water, they'll let you bring your water.
So don't talk to me like I don't know what I'm talking about, I know exactly what I'm talking about. I understand why you don't like it though, if I were you, I probably wouldn't either. But I'm able to see both sides. Not just the side of the fan.

|10 hours 47 min ago||How much fun is HE having?||
That's what more interesting...he seems to be like a kid in the candy store. Doing whatever he can, whenever he can. Love it.
|17 hours 37 min ago||They're a bunch of fucking idiots...||
...you can't bring water into a BUNCH of stadiums in this country!!! Why? Because half the time that water is VODKA and they don't want to worry about sniffing your beverage.
Don't be an idiot and try to bring it in...it's like complaining that they don't let you bring your water through security at the airport...we all know they don't, but people stand there and whine like it's news. No lady, toss your shit away and let's move! Places to go, people to see! Chop-chop! Let's gooo!
They want to whine about OSU wanting people to buy their $4 bottles of water, yes...but they also don't want a bunch of clear alcohol being brought into the stadium. The airplane bottles in the socks is plenty.
This is so stupid to get mad over. If you don't like it...use a fucking drinking fountain, jackass.
|17 hours 48 min ago||Set a new record though...||
|17 hours 49 min ago||OSU tried to warn you fools...||
They said it was going to go fast and they also said it was a lot of stuff people wouldn't want like a size 18 cleat. Not cleats...a cleat. Or an XXXL t-shirt.
I'd say that you all should read, but, well, you know...
And $6,000 isn't a lot considering they were selling the chrome helmets for $1,500 a piece.
I heard all about this shitstorm before it even happened. They knew it was coming...
|19 hours 44 min ago||Could very well?||
They're going to get stomped.
Top 5 FCS teams are VERY good football teams. Take Illinois State in a heartbeat...tempted to even give 7.5 points and still take them.
Maryland vs. Richmond should actually be a close game, but I think Maryland will be solid next year (even though I'm picking Richmond because I have a personal rule to always take the top 15 FCS school - you'll be right more times than you're wrong).

|19 hours 54 min ago||I always thought it would be cool to...||
Open the entire CFB season with ND, first game of the entire year. If it's on a Thursday - so what.
Open the B1G season with MSU.
Always close the season with OSU like we do.
It would just be cool for all college football fans nationwide to know "college football is here when Michigan is playing ND." And for Michigan fans to know "B1G season has arrived...time for MSU." And we always* play OSU last, so that's that.
*(I know WD, Hawaii and I'm sure there are other times)

I believe BTN pushed up the game this year.
|1 day 3 hours ago||That maze sucked...||
There were only like 5 times you could go the wrong way. And when you could, only once it was far enough to get lost in the maze. This was a sham.
Besides, I much prefer the late 80's maize. Even the early 90's maize was good. Now it's just highlighter yellow.

|1 day 13 hours ago||Doesn't even look like a poor man's Doyle to me...||
Maybe offensively, but that's it.
He's got hands, solid moves for his age, and very good court awareness. That's it.
He's SLOW as hell and he can't jump. I mean even his shot is slow, he's effective at his level...but he's going to get blocked a ton if he can't elevate or make a quick move to the basket and get the ball on the rim.
I don't like the J-Mo comparison at all. Morgan was just doughy and he wasn't developed offensively...but he had the athleticism and you could see that late in his career he was going to improve as he put things together and worked on his body.
Doyle is more J-Mo (or poor man's McGary)...he can run up and down the floor and bring energy and have an impact on the game. He's not all-B1G right now, but if I said Doyle will be All-B1G his junior and senior year, no one is going to flip out, we can see that trajectory.
My biggest concern about Davis is that he has to get better in non-basketball things first. He's got to run faster and jump higher, but shit --- so do I. Davis has to be able to make a quick move and be more athletic with the ball. He's got to be able to sprint down the floor and draw a charge (since he's never going to be a shot blocker).
Doyle and Morgan could do those things. It wasn't until late in J-Mo's career when he could block a shot, but he was always sliding into position to draw a charge - always.
I'm much more concerned about these things than anything on the court. He's got to his his non-basketball/generic to any sport "attributes" up. That's hard to do.
|1 day 14 hours ago||We could easily take them all...||
...they're all at positions of need. It won't happen, but we definitely have the room.
|1 day 23 hours ago||Huh?||
We'd know...because Beilein doesn't hide injuries.
And how do you come up with that? Why not suggest any other player on the team that has been hurt? There's really nothing pointing to Wilson over anyone else.
But no, I'm sure we'd know if there was a career ending injury.
Again, it's 2 years from now...and it's not like we're over the roster limit even if everyone who can come back, comes back. Even WITH Davis.
It's just perplexing because Davis doesn't look that good and we need a PG and right now we don't have a spot for one in 2 years. But like I said, Irvin could easily be gone after next season (opening up a spot)...and/or Spike could redshirt this year.
My personal opinion is that there is a better shot of us adding a PG to the 2016 class than not. It just may not be until next calendar year.
|1 day 23 hours ago||Very talented.||
|1 day 23 hours ago||....||
...one of the hot young chicks ESPN trots out every year.
McHenry is almost always paired with the young male stars of the NFL and MLB for interviews.
McHenry, Ponder, Noto, Hartung, Hubbarth, Taylor...the new ESPN thing. Not saying they're not good at their job, some are VERY good, just saying they're clearly hiring hot young women for their audience. Now they're getting as far as hiring "the hot Hispanic one" and "the hot Indian one" and "the hot Arabic one." Pretty blatant, but that's TV.
Even the in studio Czarniak, Walsh, McCarthey, Beadle, Sire, etc. are all very attractive women.
|2 days 5 hours ago||How can anyone not like him as the coach?||
Because he chooses to watch controversial movies and understands that it's fake - it's entertainment when others take it as an inaccurate documentary or biography.
Those people who can't see the difference, for whatever reason, hate the guy.
Me, I'm like Jim...I can watch American Sniper, Selma, The Interview and yes, even Remember The Titans --- and know, it's entertainment. It's fake. It's fiction and why it may contain truths, it's not what actually happened. Or many things actually never happened. I just eat my popcorn and enjoy, Jim does the same. Jim's a good guy.
Frisbee on, Coach. You're one hell of a man. You're also trying like hell to win that student body president nomination! I see what you're doing!
|2 days 5 hours ago||We need 2 big men in this class + a PG||
Donnal, Wagner, Wilson and Chatman are not C's.
I'm not saying we need Davis, but we need another C along with Doyle and Teske.
3 center's and 2 point guards with a 3rd player who can play PG is what Beilein seems to like. The other 7 players don't really matter in terms of position.
I like that we got a big man...do not like that we're not looking at better more developed players.
Need 2 big men + a PG and if a 4th opens up, THEN you add another PG.
|2 days 6 hours ago||Strong assessment||
I'm voting him "7-footer most likely to get swatted by a point guard."
You can tell he knows what he's doing. But he's slow and he can't jump. Fundamentally, he's sound - keeps the ball high, nice touch, reads and reacts.
Ideal walk-on canidate who gets a scholarship in his last year or 2 after working hard and coaching not being able to fill out the roster.
Looks like the poorest man's Bryant Reeves.
|2 days 6 hours ago||Too far out to worry.||
*If Irvin stays, you try like hell to get by with Walton and MAAR as your PG's - then again, if somehow you got Brown and Irvin stays...you still have an open spot to get a freshman PG on this team. You also could redshirt Albrecht THIS ('15-'16) season with the hip injury and have him in 2016-17. Too far out to worry.
*You've likely got at least 2 OPEN spots, probably 3 and that's before any decision is made on Robinson and Donnal. That's a freshman class of 3-5. I'll call it 4. These freshman would be playing on a team with a bunch of upperclassmen with crazy amounts of experience. Add freshman Spike, LeVert, Stauskas and Robinson III to this group and it sounds pretty nice...but like I said...Too far out to worry.
|2 days 6 hours ago||It's also 2016...||
Zak Irvin could very well go pro after this year...I mean, would that REALLY shock anyone? Not sure why this hasn't been discussed more.
People also forget Spike is a senior next year...
|2 days 6 hours ago||Smotz was pretty good||
He was just too soft to play the 5 and should've never been there in the first place...
Put a junior or senior J-Mo on that team with Horford as the backup and he's the stretch 4 he always should have been.
Just like Noavk and Irvin aren't PFs, neither was GRIII...
Beilein's biggest flaw isn't under the radar recruits, it's not finding enough quality big guys - which forces him to go small and that pisses some guys off, and rightfully so.
Doyle had a solid freshman year. I think Teske will be the real deal...if this kid is Horford level, you're back to having 3 true centers and you're not playing guys like Chatman, D.J. Wilson and Wagner at the 5.
THAT is way more important IMO.
