- We REALLY do need Weber. Not for next year or the year after...but we have a team full of Jr's + Issac.
- We need a FB in this class, however, with it being so small...I think we can get away with a greyshirt or preferred walk-on this year to compete with a true freshman next year.
- Chris Clark, please!
- Would love one more OT
- SDE is a must...sounds like that is covered with Jake Pickard
- We need one LB, Roquan Smith would fill a huge need in terms of depth
- I'm still not putting Clark at CB until it's confirmed a little more...regardless, we need a weakside/field CB in this class
- It's January 25th
- We haven't finished this recruiting class
- We haven't been through spring ball too get an idea of who is playing where...
- We have really have no idea what the system will be and where the personnel will fit best
|29 min 6 sec ago||That is a horrible analogy.||
I mean, plain awful.
|30 min 34 sec ago||Not me.||
It's just like deflategate or Jameis Winston. You're either on one side or the other.
We can't talk politics on MGoBlog, but in reality...all these topics...are just sports politics.
And just like many polictical topics in our nation, people find one side or the other and hold their ground.
My only beef is with anyone who judges Marshawn without knowing the man. Those are the folks I remember, because on a website devoted to opinion...I couldn't give a damn about the opinion of those who judge someone without knowing that individiual.
And be clear, there's a distinct difference between having an opinion on someone's actions and judging that individual as a person.
|37 min 1 sec ago||It goes both ways...||
To argue just one side is stupid as fizuck.
The both need each others...the owners couldn't do what they do and make as much money without today's players and todays players couldn't make the amounts of money they do without the owners. It's really that simple.
Both would survive without each other, but neither would be as rich.

...or Real Miami Housewives.
I hate this reality TV age we live in.
Why can't everyone just rant on sports blog message boards like decent human beings? Is that not a big enough audience anymore?
This TMZ, Twitter, my voice has to be heard by as many people as possible age is disturbing.
She may have had a valid point (I stopped reading), but 99% of the people who read that are saying "STFU."
Anyone, OT or not...I'm glad I can come to MGoBlog for my daily dose of baby mama drama, ESPN.com has been slacking ever since some dude deflated some footballs while he was taking a piss.
|11 hours 12 min ago||It's simple||
If you want it to be a big deal, you can make it a big deal. If you don't want to care, you won't.
Same with Winston. "Findings" are not going to change opinion...at this point, people believe what they want to believe and unless there is cold hard evidence.
i.e. the NFL admitting a mistake and finding that the officials tested the balls incorrectly, or Winston's accuser saying "sorry, I made it all up!"
...and even then some people will be talking conspiracy (the NFL took the dive for the Pats or Winston paid her off with his soon to be NFL money)
|11 hours 16 min ago||lol||
Seems like just yesterday you were getting on me for having 15 in this class and saying we only had 6 spots to go with our 6 commits.
|11 hours 19 min ago||What about Saban?||
|11 hours 20 min ago||He absolutely was a 4th round pick before his trouble||
He was having/had a very solid year. He would've likely tested well and fell right into that 4th round range.
As of now, 5th to 7th isn't far fetched depending on what comes of his case.
You logic is flawed Jameis Winston, didn't have anything proven, but the negative publicity isn't even going to knock him off the #1 pick in the draft. Last year there was that kid from ND, Schembo?
I'm not saying Clark gets drafted, I really don't give a shit to be honest...I'm just saying I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he does. And if he does, 5th to 7th is likely where he's taken. Low risk/high reward rounds.
|11 hours 25 min ago||Why?||
Because most coaches do just that..
It's not an odd question at all. And the "have faith" meme doesn't apply when time and time again, including in alum's exercise, you see coaches fill spots.
Look at who Hoke brought in, not only did half not pan out...half never even played at Michigan. And that's Brady Hoke. The guy who recruited well and counted on moral victories with a bunch of nice guys. It's not like he was known for trying to get a bunch of borderline academic risks in. Or a bunch of guys who would have social issues.
Butch Davis is on ESPN every week talking about how he made that mistake and Mack Brown is not too far behind him talking about how he sees it happen every year.
It's a very valid fear...and just because it's HARBAUGH, doesn't mean anything.
I'd be interested to see Saban and Meyer when they took over at Bama and OSU.

|1 day 50 min ago||Someone at Michigan PLEASE listen to me||
The man deserves a statue. As does Harmon, as does AC.
Get rid of those stupid patches...
Build a monument park, an outdoor museum at the stadium.
Inside of this park, statues of all of the formerly retired numbers...plus Woodson this year. AC next year. Desmond the following year. And Jake the year after that.
Also should be plaques honoring great teams. Great players that aren't quite statue level, but awesome in their own right. A wall of All-Americans. Coaches. History.
Have a cool "exhibit" of fan favorite moments like Woodson's catch vs. MSU, The Pose, and also moments like UTL1 and UTL2. Bo's first win over OSU. A place to relive the experience.
Walk into a giant Michigan helmet to experience a video element with a loop of great plays on the inside.
PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Be a LEADER and a trendsetter! Make it cool, make it fun, make it corny, but do it up and do it right.
Many people only visit Michigan Stadium every now and again, this would be an awesome feature to better the gameday experience. Or not even the gameday experience because many folks would come by on the holidays during the offseason just to check it out. It would be awesome if you could visit 365 days a year.

Those big cookies they used to serve in the cafeteria at lunch when I was in middle school. They were amazing!
|1 day 4 hours ago||Best of luck to Hayes||
I have a feeling he'll be next (and hopefully last) in the line of recent Michigan RBs who left Michigan and seemed to get significantly better - or be utilized the right way.
Wish him all the best, he represented the maize and blue well!
Go tear it up Justice!
|1 day 4 hours ago||Why wouldn't you fill it this year?||
You take a RB every year.
We'll need one this year and need one next year.
|1 day 12 hours ago||Oops||
I forgot to move Brandon Watson to backup NB in place of Peppers.
Also, in response to #1 --- we won't need Weber next year, but we would during his RS Fr. year. And to #7 --- that is Jeremy Clark.

Because if/once someone else does, I won't be able to edit anyway..
A few thoughts in terms of recruiting this year
|1 day 20 hours ago||Team 136 vs. Everybody||
Obviously too early for multiple reasons...
This is largely based on natural progression and hope.
Note: I kept 5th year seniors even though Harbaugh may not renew scholarships if he can get more of "his" recruits in this class. Also, some people get upset when you remove the 5th year guys off of speculation.
|1 day 21 hours ago||Not||
If you read some of the posts in this thread...
|1 day 22 hours ago||Interesting||
Pickard was told he's the only DE we're recruiting. That solidifies Jones at a DE/OLB hybrid, but that says alot about Wheatley Jr.
|1 day 22 hours ago||Competition is one hell of a thing...||
We haven't had it in forever...since, what, Henne beat out an injured Gutierrez and Clayton Richard?
I may be mixed up. But minus Forcier/Robinson in which Forcier disqualified his own self, we haven't had true competition at that position since Henne's true freshman year.
That was going on 11 years ago.
Morris, Speight, Malzone, Gentry...all very talented guys. Lace em up and let's see who's best.
I'm looking forward to this. And looking forward to this over the next couple of years.
