things go poorly

- I think we should run tempo more when the offense is out of sync
- I think we should run tempo more when we've got the defense on its heels
- I think we're still horrible at running tempo in the late half/game situations

More for you...
|1 day 1 hour ago||We've turned into one of the biggest groups of whiners||
...it's embarrassing at times, because Michigan has always been able to pride itself on having an intellegent, level-headed, passionate fan base. And in many ways we still do...but we're moving far closer to Penn State, who've ALWAYS been the whiniest fan base in the conference.
MSU has had the little brother syndrome "well, howcome we don't get...blah blah blah"
OSU has always had the embarassing nut jobs (no pun intended) that embarrass the rest of their fans because they're overboard and do shit that make everyone look bad. Remember when the Columbus news station went undercover to Michigan/OSU in Ann Arbor as OSU fans and then did the same in Columbus as Michigan fans? Then reported how awful the OSU fans were? That was OSU in a nutshell (again, no pun intended)
Then PSU...the whiniest of the winers. Every call, every decision, everything on earth was against them. They forever complained about EVERYTHING. In season or out of season.
Michigan we were the wine and cheese crowd, but we also were some of the nicest, classiest, level headed fans in the nation. They used to run poles and it was always Michigan and Texas. I remember someone did a big story when we played in the Rose Bowl and each fanbase gave glowing reviews of the other.
I just hope we haven't lost that...because as we know, part of being a Michigan fan is always finding a way to be the best in everything. We want the best fans, we want the cover of the video game, we want the best stadium, helmet, fight song, we want our records, we want the most wins. That's just who we are. Arrogant or not. It's us. Stuck in the past or not...it's us. There's a reason "THIS IS MICHIGAN" sent a chill down every Michigan fans spine. Because we cherish and live in our past...probably way too much. We're a muesum, but we don't care...it doesn't mean we don't want to win now.
Anyway, winning will help, but people have started to bitch, moan and whine about EVERYTHING. Hoke, Brandon, Jalen, student attendance, tickets, jerseys, patches, slogans, sponsors, headsets, clapping, schedules...EVERYTHING. Makes you wonder if winning would fix it all.
|1 day 1 hour ago||Which is fine...||
...but you can't expect everyone to say "it's in the past." It's not a bad thing to have an opinion.
Fans give their opinions every damn day, this blog wouldn't exist without a need to share opinions.
But Jalen Rose gives his opinion and people get pissed off about it. It's stupid. He's entitled to his opinion.
Now people can certainly disagree with his opinion or be upset with his opinion, but that's not what they're mad over...they're made that he has and opinion and shared it when asked about it. See how backwards that is?
It's not what he said, it's that he said something. Which on a website called MGoBlog is kind of weird for someone to get upset at someone else for having an opinion about something.
If the reaction was "I wholeheartedly disagree with Jalen," that would be one thing...but the reaction is "Jalen needs to shut up and stop answering questions."
At the end of the day, he was asked...he gets paid to share his opinion for a living...he's a grown man who's certainly entitled to an opinion that isn't bigoted, discriminatory, racist, offensive, hurtful, etc.
|1 day 1 hour ago||Huh?||
If someone goes "hey, how is your wife in bed?" Aren't they the jerk?
|1 day 4 hours ago||Anyway, the upshot: excellent work, Dave Brandon.||
I thought Brian wrote this...I had to scroll up and saw it was Ace.
Ruined everything for me.
|1 day 4 hours ago||Not surprising||
Also, glad that once it was announced that they were in a an appeal, please relaxed on blaming the NCAA for taking so long.
In the end, they tried, failed, tried again...which is why it pushed into the season, and failed. No big deal. It was worth it and everyone handled the process correctly. Kudos to everyone. Including the MGoBloggers who completely stopped asking about it once it was understood that an appeal was in play.
Looking forward to seeing this 3-headed monster next year.
|1 day 4 hours ago||The only problem is...||
...he's not the one bringing it up, he's asked.
Not everyone says "no comment" just to be politically correct or appease others.
I don't get it...we get pissed at Brady Hoke because he's not open and honest when asked questions. We get pissed at Jalen Rose when he is.
Make up your minds.

There's a Mone thread going right now, just a little mix up.
|1 day 23 hours ago||Wellll....||
I mean that's because the man is said to have a 14" penis. With that in mind, it's a legitimate question. Winston was just being a fool.
|2 days 3 hours ago||"Again, you make things up I said"||
...at least I'm not the only one who sees this.
|2 days 3 hours ago||I like to laugh||
...you have something against laughing?
|2 days 4 hours ago||Did you actually read my post||
When is 2-3 times out of every time the offense has the ball...a large portion?
|2 days 11 hours ago||Because||
In practice you want to get as many reps for as many players as possible, in a game that obviously isn't the focus.
If we moved in practice the speed we moved in games, practice would be over and we would've gotten 5-10% of what the coaches wanted to accomplish that day accomplished.
Not trying to sound like an ass, but I've heard that questioned a lot...seems reasonable to me.
|2 days 12 hours ago||LOL||
lol, you're ruining it for them with your logic.
In all seriousness, I have no problem with our tempo except for 3 things.
In all, that's probably 3 drives a game. All of the other ones, I have no problem with if you're the 2nd slowest team. As long as we're getting to the line and getting the ball snapped. I like giving the defense some rest.
It just drives me crazy when Devin is off and we don't change anything to get him in rhythm. Or when we've got the defense giving up chunk plays and we allow them to reset/sub and recover (and we end up settling for a FG).
Many people (Ace) will point to the blunder at the end of the first as an example of poor end of half management, but I believe we still had 2 timeouts. My guess is we would've picked it up if we would've gotten the first down. We just didn't want to give them the ball back with a bunch of time left. I had no issues except for the penalty at the end.

Doesn't say anything during press conferences...also a different tone than Hoke's.
At this point, who gives a damn man? Popavich with the Spurs has his way, Coach K doens't give halftime interviews, Hoke doesn't talk about injuries, Gundy smacks himself, etc.
Coaches are coaches, and most of them are different...if it bothers you that much, go root for a coach who gives a postgame interview the way you want. That's not what Michigan's coach does, I'm sorry, you just have to deal with it or move on.
|2 days 21 hours ago||Agreed||
I even posted it in the open thread, with that excellent INT, ON the Michigan sideline, I was immediately concerned for Manning's health and well-being and the health of those around him.
I didn't see the fist pump live, but I just knew he had to be losing his mind.
|2 days 21 hours ago||Hey EMU||
...you're up. Don't disappoint.
|2 days 21 hours ago||When BTN first started||
85% of the country didn't have it...so Michigan's first games on BTN at least felt like they weren't televised.
Glad they worked it out with the cable companies because BTN used to be the kiss of death for us our the B1G footprint.
|2 days 21 hours ago||Could've been trash talk||
Could've been cursing
Could've spiked the ball
...this is one of those, I'll wait and see.
|2 days 21 hours ago||Honest question.||
Why do some of you continue to read these if they both you so much?
They've been the exact same for 4 years now. The only difference now is this year he's not talking about injuries. Do you really think it's going to chance? If it did...do you think you wouldn't know about it?
How about this. You all do not have to read another Hoke presser from now until forever...and if he changes his policy on injuries, I will create a thread and alert the entire MGoCommunity?
Seriously, I'd love to do it just so I can read the responses to a presser without seeing you all whine and complain about something that will never change. Sometimes there are really good responses and comments in the presser threads (for the asshole who's thinking "why don't you stop reading the comment if you don't want to hear the whining).
|2 days 21 hours ago||I hope the do||
Let the big fella touch the bal!
|3 days 4 hours ago||He must really have class...||
Because he's been slacking on this as of late.
...it's actually kind of sad. I feel bad almost like when you watch the player who's 3 years past his prime and he just doesn't have "it" anymore. In this case, WD is young, but he's got class and it's just hendering him from performing at his MGoA-Game. I wish him well and hope he's able to recover during the next break from school. Fall break? Thanksgiving? Whatever. Just some time to rest, recover, and browse apparel archives for each University. I'm sure some special bowl uniforms will leak by that time, I can only hope WD brings it to us first.
|3 days 4 hours ago||Great point...||
It almost always worked. He was always in during these situations, run or pass.
For Hurst who isn't paying starter's minutes at DT, giving him 10-12 plays on offense to remember isn't a big deal.
Love the idea for a guy with such explosion and great feet. He's through the hole and into the end zone before Green even gets the ball.
I'm not surprised at this, I'm suprised that a poster really would say something about them not "saving" this formation.
LOL - people are past the point of unrealistic and are now just making shit up to complain. Save what? He didn't even do anything except run through the hole and keep it sealed for Green? It wasn't even a trick play from the formation.
Anyway, good note on Williams, Bama used to clean up when he was in the game leading the way.
|4 days 10 hours ago||Great point...||
This is one of those cases where I completely agree with both and the thoughts themselves disagree with each other.
I do want to see us run well vs. a decent team. But then again, we did suck last year at running against ALL teams. Including the bad ones.
|4 days 10 hours ago||Agreed.||
Next week, IMO, will tell us who we are as a team.
Then again, it could just be another weird game. You know, like when we outgain the opposing team and lose 31-0? Or when we win 34-10 and feel like we lost?
I said it'll tell us who we are as a team. But then again, maybe we win 16-7 with all FGs and it confuses us even more.
|4 days 10 hours ago||Maty Mauk||
Is also looking good for Mizzou...
Meanwhile Zeke Pike was arrested this spring. Shav Beaver, Rob Bolden and Kevin Newsome never amounted to anything.
Win some, lose some.
Did you mention that Kiel was playing Toledo?

17/25 for 261, 4TDs and 0 INTs and they're still in the 3rd quarter.
