This is what Jay Harbaugh's tweet was about that said hardwork pays off.
|6 hours 10 min ago||I looked yesterday and it||
I looked yesterday and it looks like they have a 2 year starter going into his junior or senior year next year.
Not that it's impossible.
|6 hours 11 min ago||Look at that my research yesterday led to CMU||
Toledo, EMU and WMU are set...
SJSU with Borges was my only other guess.
GVSU where he was rumored over the summer is also set.
What do I win? Absolutely nothing. I don't even get my 20 minutes back MAC depth charts.
|19 hours 46 min ago||I've said it before...I'll||
I've said it before...I'll say it again. It's a borderline bubble team. May as well accept it now.
Not going to change until Beilein gets better talent.
Irvin and Walton are 4th and 5th options. It's just the fact of the matter.
If you want to be elite you need to have a McGary, GRIII and a Stauskas to pair with this team.
Wagner coming off the bench behind McGary would be perfect. DJ Wilson providing energy and toughness when GRIII is playing soft and uninspired - a great fit. Duncan Robinson playing the 3 behind Irvin where he should be now. You'll hit on one of the 2 each game.
MAAR would be 100 times better off the bench. Stauskas is the Alpha this team has lacked since he left. Then you'd also have MAAR coming off the bench behind Walton as well.
...This a a team of role players that's missing it's best 3 players if it wanted to be elite. The players aren't bad, they're just playing in far more important roles than they should be.
Beilein has to recruit better and hit on his recruits. You need lottery talent. Not all 5 starters, but you need 2-3 players who are going to make the guys on this team better. We don't have that and that's why we're a bubble team that will beat 1 team we shouldn't and lose to a team we shouldn't and then do it all over again.

I was gonna say...uhhh, have you seen the stretches we have?
They're the reason I watch the game on mute and only look at the score from time to time...watching us is so frustrating unless we're playing "clean" and hitting shots.

It's like ABC's Blackish...but the Andrew Dakich version.
|21 hours 13 min ago||Throwing hard doesn't make||
Throwing hard doesn't make him an NFL QB. There are plenty of guys who can throw a football 80 yards.
Throwing for 3,000 in college doesn't make him an NFL QB either.
If he was an NFL QB...I'm sorry, Harbaugh would've played him and we wouldn't have been watching John O'Korn throw balls at the feel of Amara Darboh for 3.5 hours.
If he was an NFL QB...he probably would've earned a starting spot over Denard, Devin, Jake OR Wilton. He had chances.
I wish the kid all the best, but if he goes somewhere and become an NFL QB, we should be looking at Harbaugh with some questions. I don't think that's the case. This isn't the RB position...completely different situation.
Michigan in 2015 or 2016 isn't going to just let an NFL QB be the 3rd string guy who only gets in to run a toss sweep and act as a lead blocker.
You have to let the hype go and just wish the kid well, he gave it his all, he was a solid teammate...he did more for Michigan football than 99% of this board. But all of that can be true without him secretly being a pro prospect cause he throws hard/far.
|21 hours 19 min ago||Or it's just he likes the||
Or it's just he likes the weather, the school, can get on the field, and he is comfortable in the system.
Learning a new system isn't for everyone...if you're telling me I can go to San Jose for grad school, play football in a system I already know, pssssh...that may be a no brainer if my other options are MAC schools.
|21 hours 21 min ago||Well those 8 + Morris gives||
Well those 8 + Morris gives you 9...that's right in your window.
I just hope we keep some of the 5th year guys who can provide value and depth even if they're not starters. Obviously they have to want to be here too.
But Isaac, Poggi, Kuglar, Dawson...I see value there. We know their "floor" and they can be plugged right in and contribute even if they're not starters. And you never know...look at Godin, who knew he'd be an All-B1G performer late in his career.
McCray and Clark are givens and I won't comment on Drake Johnson without knowing his health/status. But those first 4...I really do hope they all stay, we need the leadership on a young team. I know Dawson and Hill are close and leaders of the team. Isaac can provide power and be called on if/when needed if he doesn't earn the starting spot. Same with Kugler.
Poggi was a reliable blocker and Hill can't play every down. It would allow us to redshirt Ben Mason if he's going to play FB. A position where a RS year a crucial because no one is leaving early and that 5th year experience, and just being a grown man versus a HS student is HUGE.
|21 hours 32 min ago||We'll be fine in 2-3 years||
We'll be fine in 2-3 years when Drevno has his guys that HE recruited and not the 4*/5* guys that got us all excited, but never really lived up to the hype until this year and that was inconsistent.
I'm not worried about the OL at all. I remember how bad it was, I have perspective.
We're on the right track and I'm seeing freshman contribute on upperclassmen-led teams and play well. Those guys are going to get better and we'll find more of those guys.
Ben Bredeson was better this year than any OL on the team except Cole in his freshman (or sophomore) year.
Onwenu got snaps when he didn't have to.
I look at the 5-6 guys we're about to bring in...they'll be young, but in 2-3 years, I expect us to have a vintage Stanford OL littered with draft picks.
|21 hours 38 min ago||Dangit||
That just reminded me...I have a cool story bro.
So I got to go to the game at S. Carolina and forgot this, because, well obviously (the game sucked).
Anyway, I got to sit with the parents right behind the bench, I mean, I heard every word in every timeout. I don't know if it's public knowledge, Beilein has made Dackich a coach for this redshirt year.
He seriously goes to him for advice DURING the game, he's constantly okay "Okay, I hear you...keep talking to me, keep giving me that stuff." He'll kneel down in front of Andrew and Andrew will point things out the he sees while the ball is in play.
I won't say who, but Dackish even heavily made a sub (I won't say who because it was due to poor play, not him pointing out someone who may be gassed or injured - which is normal).
During the game Dakich will take Beilein's clipboard and draw stuff up and then at some of the media timeouts he'll take the first 10 seconds to explain to Coach what he's seeing. Just those 2 standings off to the side while the managers pull the stools out and everyone gets settled.
Especially during timeouts when we're on defense because Donlon runs all of those, he sits in Beilein's chair and everything. So Dakich will draw something up and explain it really quick, Beilein will listen and learn what he's trying to say, he'll nod, and then will go into the huddle with Donlon and hear the defense.
Just really cool how they keep him involved and use his eye for very specific things. I also found often Dakich is looking off the ball and scouting. He'll call out a missed backcut and coach up a teammate because everyone else is naturally looking at the action in the play.
Sometimes when a big doesn't get the ball and feels he's open, Dakich will explain to him when he comes out why the guard missed the pass. (As a former guard, it's normally always because you don't trust the angle the big gave you). Little things like that.
The kid is smart as hell. I was with 2 other people, neither a Michigan fan - actually one an OSU fan...both were rooting for Michigan and loved Beilein and the team after the game. The way they all communicate with each other is special/unqiue to watch.
The fact that a man who's been to the Final Four, the National Championship game can set his ego aside and allow a walk-on PG share his thoughts, or a 1st year assistant lead a timeout...I just thought that was special. Don't get me wrong, Beilein's always in control, it's his team, but he wants ALL of the information he can possibly get. If you can give him 1% more info now than he had a minute ago - he'll take it.

The hail mary pass never works in basketball when they're guarding the inbounds pass.
1 second wasn't enough time...but I always believe you want to get the ball in and get something going to the rim. Get the ball up and get a look at the basketball.
Half court and 3/4 court shots are far from impossible. They're not probable. But it's better than trying to complete some lob in a sport where you have to get the ball off before the clock hits 0.00 and the clock starts as soon as someone touches the ball.
You're never going to get a completion and a good look. Either someone tips it or they force you into the most awkward catch that you don't have a good look.
A catch and turnaround from just inside half court is a much tougher shot than a runner facing the rim from beyond half court.

|22 hours 7 min ago||They've seen us||
They've seen us enough...it'll be a great call, plus McShay on the sideline does a great job and he'll be able to shine some NFL draft insight as well.
I look forward to it!
|1 day 42 min ago||To get to 31-32? Indeed.||
Not sure how many more...but naturally they'll happen. And if the player is making the best decision for him and his family, I'm all for it.
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised at:
1 of 2 other QBs
1 of 2 RBs
1 of 2 WRs
2 of 3 OL
1 of 2 DL
1 of 2 LB
...I can't think of any DBs.
Not saying they'll happen - it just wouldn't shock me. Between 5th years not being offered, transfers and grad transfers. We'll have some new faces for sure.
Interesting was a great way to put it.

Any idea if Flacco is any good at Western?
|1 day 59 min ago||I'm sure this is||
I'm sure this is disappointing to everyone who was riding the "Sugar Shane" hype train to the bitter end.
That said, there was some noise about him transfering to GVSU over the summer. Also there were a few comments about his relationship with Borges who was/is at SJSU (not sure if he's still on the staff).
Me personally, I'd LOVE to see him playing in some Wednesday night MACtion next year! What do the QB situations look like at EMU, CMU, WMU and Toledo?
|1 day 1 hour ago||No surprise though.||
This one is pretty easy since it was rumor all summer.
I didn't know where he was in school, but I thought all summer that if he would've graduated in August he could pull a Rudock/Vernon Adams and find a team right before fall camp.
Wish him all the best.
Wouldn't be shocked at all if there isn't another QB to go either. Two obvious names out there may certainly be looking around.
