"Jim's a tough guy and you can see his personality is all over this football team," Fitzgerald said.

Don't know why anyone would think Maryland has a lot of money to throw at a big name coach. Their AD has had severe budget problems for years. They would need UA to pay him.
|4 hours 36 min ago||This will be his audition.||
He may not be a good HC, but he's a much better fit at UMD than UNM. They have a very good recruiting class so far. Hiring Locksley is probably the only realistic way of holding on to it. Somehow, they just got Naseir Upshur to schedule an OV.
|5 hours 27 min ago||Mike Locksley will likely be the interim.||
He's been a great recruiter in the Big Ten. If things turn around a bit, my money's on him, despite his failure in New Mexico.
|17 hours 40 min ago||It's more than just development.||
What other defense does that?
|22 hours 5 min ago||I think the gameplan should be based solely on beating||
Northwestern. They should be the toughest test for our offense to date. I think we'll see some new plays. We have every week. I don't thnk they'll be run to screw with Sparty.
|23 hours 1 min ago||You weren't around for the Willingham years, were you?||
|23 hours 5 min ago||Not worried||
Their timelines don't match up. Besides, what's so bad about Nebraska getting better?
|1 day 1 hour ago||Light years measure distance, not time.||
We've traveled a long way in less than a year.
|1 day 4 hours ago||Every player on MSU's current defense was recruited||
under Narduzzi. If they're lacking talent now, (or last season) it's not because of any coaching change.
|1 day 5 hours ago||#18 is just a sign of our upward trajectory.||
We were one of Gary's favorites last year, so he's very well aware of that. More than the overall defense, I'd think he'd be focused on the DLine's play. Either way, he should be impressed.
|1 day 6 hours ago||Scholarship kickers usually start as freshmen.||
Gibbons was our first that didn't.
|1 day 6 hours ago||I've seen on twitter it's their TE commit from Georgia.||
|1 day 7 hours ago||He's molded the team as much as inherited it.||
He moved Poggi to offense and is actually using all his FBs a lot. He's starting the most physical of the RBs. And those TEs weren't blocking very well in the past. Another coach might have moved one of the DBs and Bunting to WR, started a RB that he could also split out (Isaac) and played a completely different style with the same roster. It'd be easy to imagine that Butt might be the only FB/TE seeing a lot of snaps.
|1 day 8 hours ago||Michign football is always going to be news.||
Harbaugh is too. Combine the two and we're going to get more ink than just about anyone. I think it's a big net positive.
|1 day 8 hours ago||And yet, that is exactly what the pros who dominate||
these sites do.
|1 day 9 hours ago||I don't think there's any chance the Utah and UNLV||
coaches are watching Michigan games after they've played us. You study your future opponents. If you're looking for familiarity, then Fitzgerald is a possibility.
|1 day 18 hours ago||MSU was "playing exclusivly third and fourth stringers"||
on offense late vs Purdue? I don't believe you, but if it were true, that would be an incredibly poor job of coaching.
|1 day 20 hours ago||There's a lot more to poker than calculating odds.||
You're betting that you can outplay your opponents in a variety of ways. A lot of money is won or lost without the next card even getting dealt.
|1 day 22 hours ago||No, picking popular players is a disadvantage.||
Maybe not in a little league, but certainly in trying to win a big pool. Here's a relevant quote from a recent interview with a professional player.
Here's the source. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-09-10/you-aren-t-good-enough...
People that have access to that inside information have a real advantage, even over the pros.
|1 day 22 hours ago||That's a pointless analogy.||
They don't know anything about betting that isn't readily available to the general public. These employees are using inside information that's not known to other bettors to increase their odds of winning. Those less informed bettors are their competition, not the house.
The closest casino analogy would be in the sports books, but any financial market is more susceptible to trading on inside information. They're highly regulated with serious criminal and civil penalties in place.
|2 days 3 hours ago||I don't understand what's going on there.||
DeBord has to be the most surprising hire since I don't know when. Then he gets a commitment from 2017's #1 QB.
|2 days 9 hours ago||Disagree about Sheridan. That was a very good system||
for his abilities. He couldn't put any zip on the ball, nor throw downfield. There were no systems where he's a good QB, but he was a decent runner and made pretty good decisions. The only reason he played was because the offense was a bad fit for Threet.
|2 days 9 hours ago||I'm liking our chances in the upcoming battle with their blogs.||
|2 days 23 hours ago||Who's going to tell Harbaugh not to bring in recruits||
to save a few bucks? Not going to happen here. There are better reasons not to bring in someone you don't have much of a shot with. There's a cap on how many OVs the NCAA allows and the coaches don't want to waste their own time. Obviously, they had reason to thnk that wasn't the case.
|2 days 23 hours ago||I believe you're correct, but there could be more spots||
available. We'll have some seniors who are graduating in December or have already. They probably won't be back if they're out of eligibility..
|2 days 23 hours ago||Not surprising coming from Cris Carter,||
but isn't he just contradicting himself?
|3 days 1 hour ago||Drake has been moving up the depth chart||
as he's been able to do more. If he had entered fall camp 100% healthy, I think he would have started the season at least where he's listed now. Rather than looking at the new chart as Isaac being demoted, consider that Johnson is just finding his proper place.
|3 days 1 hour ago||I'm unconvinced, They have Minnesota ahead of OSU.||
Minnesota has 3 wins against Colo St, Ohio and Kent St, all by 3 points. A 27-0 loss to NW (who's also behind them) and a close loss to TCU. They have OSU as a 3 point favorite at home. If that game was this week, I'd add at least 14 points to the line.
MSU is #34, which is good for 9th in the Big Ten.
Maybe late in the year, their predictions may line up with Vegas lines. For now, I don't believe they're anywhere close.
|3 days 2 hours ago||Removing Ojemudia is the first and only change||
in the defensive depth chart all season. Remarkable stabilty.
|3 days 17 hours ago||I didn't take your statement literally.||
I can think of plenty of reasons to dislike Whitlock.That he supported a former coach of his alma mater is not one of them.
