His versatility gives him a little boost if he has a good season.
|7 hours 31 min ago||Isn't that just for basketball?||
It would make up a very small percentage of the gear.
|7 hours 43 min ago||Desmond Howard was a RB in HS.||
He's hard to top, but a lot of players were very productive at new positions. Jon Janson and Adam Kraus (TE), Larry Stevens (S), Frank Clark (LB), Jay Riemersma (QB), Ian Gold (RB) are a few off the top of my head.
|12 hours 15 min ago||We would be higher than Texas because their deal||
is almost ten years old. FSU was the highest in large part because they signed their contract last year. Prices are going up. Texas will surely be #1 when their new deal is done.
|12 hours 16 min ago||The contract details are supposed to be released soon,||
July 13, iirc. I'm sure you're right about the equipment figures being inflated, but they do seem to be consistent across schools. I wouldn't expect anything unusual in those numbers. A modest increase and a jump in the revenue. I'm interested to see the split in guaranteed money and percentage of sales. Adidas guaranteed us more, but gave a smaller share than the biggest Nike contracts.
|13 hours 58 min ago||Is that Tallahassee's version of Dooley's?||
I don't think serving minors there will go unnoticed.

I'll just quote Wikipedia.
|1 day 11 hours ago||Which brings up the obvious question,||
is Adidas making any money on this deal? Maybe they would be interested in getting bought out early.
|1 day 11 hours ago||Those factories and their workers are getting replaced||
as soon as using robots is cheaper. It won't be long.
|3 days 11 hours ago||We go through this every year.||
The projected class size is always higher than the number of graduating seniors. People freak out about it every damn year. It's a projected class size. There's guesswork involved and an entire season to be played before it's finalized. If you recruit for the mininum number of places you have, you're left scrambling to fill the class at the end. And have turned away players you would have gladly taken earlier.
The disparity in numbers is higher this year. That's the only difference. That's to be expected with a regime change and with a high number of candidates to not get a fifth year. I'll bet that when it's done, we're going to have one or two unused roster spots. Then people will freak out about how we always lose out on recruits that announce on signing day. That pursuing them is a waste of time and we should just take guys that decide early.
|3 days 14 hours ago||Where does 14 come from?||
It gets repeated all the time on this site. I don't know how it started.
We have 15 spots opening up by departing seniors.
Norfleet (He may well return. His scholarship has not been used.)
|4 days 3 hours ago||Yes, but how much does Narduzzi work with the DBs?||
Dantonio came up as a DB coach. Narduzzi coached LBs. i would guess Dantonio works more with the dbs at msu than Narduzzi will at Pitt.
|4 days 3 hours ago||Yes, I think 25 is more likely than 28.||
I expect we'll be leaving a couple places open for guys that decide at the end. If they push us past 25 it's going to be a very strong finish.
|4 days 9 hours ago||Since when has Michigan ever been the leader for X. Kelly?||
That seems like nothing more than wishful thinking that you are weirdly mixing with pessimism.. Not that long ago he was committed to KSU.
|4 days 11 hours ago||Not really true for Wheatley and Buffalo.||
I would say it wasn't for Jackson and Tolbert either. What went on in SF was not about a failed coaching staff.
|4 days 13 hours ago||If you hire a CFB head coach from a lesser program,||
they generally bring along most of their staff. That's especially true if they've been together for awhile and the previous coach was fired. Hoke did exactly what he should have been expected to do in putting together a staff. I never thought the problem was in who he hired, but in not demanding more from them. I don't think he was ever going to fire anybody and they all knew it. Good head coaches make their assistants better.
|5 days 8 hours ago||What's the point of holding a grudge?||
It's a decision that should be based on what he contributed to the team, nothing more.
|5 days 9 hours ago||We could theoretically take a lot more.||
There's the 25 class maximum, plus backdating 3 EEs and up to 25 greyshirts. Of course that won't happen, but a couple of greyshirts would not be a surprse. My guess is that we'll take a total of 25, backdating 3 of them, leaving a little wiggle room for a late decision or two. I'm assuming enough attrition between now and Feb.
|6 days 6 hours ago||I'm not sure he fell for anything, exactly.||
I'd bet he was the one who suggested meeting at the car wash both times. He was still listing things for sale because he was planning to pull more robberies, Allegedly of course. It wasn't the best thought out plan.
|6 days 8 hours ago||I'm not suggesting a new 5* target,||
but Bruce Brown and Kevin Huerter have much better offer lists than Cumberland.
It could also be that they like their chances of finding someone better during the July evaluation period. It's even possible that if they don't, an offer might get Cumberland anyway. Cumberland's offer sheet is unimpressive for a 4*. I wouldn't be surprised to see him flip if he gets one of the offers he wants.
It's fair to assume that Beilein didn't offer Cumberland on his visit because he didn't want him to commit. That's either because he's still looking for a better fit or a better player.
|6 days 10 hours ago||I hope you're right.||
I think offering Cumberland would have been a sign that they gave up on Battle. It's harder to read as much into not offering him. For a 4* Ohio prospect, he doesn't have much of an offer list; Cinci, Xavier, Purdue and FSU. It's quite possible they think they'll do better even if Battle is out of the picture.
|6 days 11 hours ago||Eh, you're overreacting too, imo.||
There's an awful lot of time left for recruiting this class, nearly a year.
Most of Beilein''s higher ranked commits have come later than this in the cycle and the low ranked flyers haven't been offered until the following April.
I'm confident that a lot more posters here would be questioning Beilein's recruiting if Cumberland had just announced for Michigan. Beilein's aiming higher and that might just entail a little risk.
|1 week 5 hours ago||Shouldn't this be our default position with every commit?||
Harding had done nothing to suggest he's looking around or wavering, at least nothing I've seen. Nobody is truly 100% to stay in the class, but there should be something beyond pure speculation to suggest someone is likely to leave. I would think that if Harbaugh didn't want him, he'd have left already.
|1 week 8 hours ago||Thanks, Colonel, but do you really think that's||
what Phil Fulmer meant? I hope not.
|1 week 8 hours ago||He should take it..||
He could make a couple of trades and find better homes for his former players. At the rate they're going, the Kings might fire him before UK has hired a replacement.

You should have his carcass tested before throwing him in a pot.
|1 week 15 hours ago||Yes. Robin Benzing, the last German that signed,||
never got cleared by the NCAA and stayed home. Wagner had not yet passed the test for foreign students when he signed either. He also had pro options at home, similar to some of our hockey recruits. This was definitely good news for the worrywarts among us.
|1 week 1 day ago||If Hackett is sticking with his July 1-ish announcement||
timeframe, which he recently confirmed, the decision should have been made by now. They need a little time to work out any possible snags.

You're quite well-spoken, so I feel compelled to point out the word you wanted was "rending". I prefer not to play the role of a grammar nazi, so I'll shut up now.

|1 week 1 day ago||Bad expansion could weaken the Big XII.||
Like adding Houston and SMU. I'm not expecting it to happen, though. I think they're in good shape if they stand pat.
I think there are two decent candidates among the schools they could plausibly get; Cincinnati and BYU. Cincinnati is a bit of a gamble, but they'll recruit better in a major conference. They would give them a bit of a bridge towards WVU and probably bring in more viewers other mid-majors. BYU is a good fit for football, but brings scheduling problems, even if they are a football only member.
