"The face of the operation is Briatore (referred to exclusively in the film by his colleagues and angry, chanting detractors as "Flavio"), an anthropomorphic radish who spends most of his time at QPR plotting to fire all of the managers."

|14 hours 9 min ago||Of course, that's why I listed him among the players with||
expiring eligibility. It still looks like we are starting with 15 open slots for 2016, not 14, does it not?
|16 hours 8 min ago||I don't see how that makes any difference.||
No one has been added to the roster to replace Pipkins. Plus, Ace was claiming only14 spots were open even before Pipkins transferred.
|16 hours 45 min ago||Ace, why do you keep insisting there are only 14 spots||
in this class. There are 13 scholarship players on the roster using their final year of eligibility, plus Pipkins and Norfleet. They haven't been replaced. That's 15.
Bolden, Morgan, Ross, Ojemudia, Rudock, O'Neil, Lyons, G. Glasgow, Houma, Kerridge, Williams, Wilson and.Jenkins-Stone.

|1 day 34 min ago||Jabril's a smart guy. He cares.||
If you want to make sure he leaves early, move him to RB. Recruiting is also affected by a staff's success in putting guys into the pros.
|1 day 40 min ago||RBs take too much of a pounding and are too prone to injury.||
I don't like the idea of using Peppers there part time, even if he might be our best RB. He also might be our best slot, our best CB, our best S, our best gunner and our best returner. He can't do everything and I expect he'll be most valuable on defense. Let him take a few reverses.from the slot. Aside from the actual touches, he'll make a great decoy on offense, something that's hard to do as a RB.
|1 day 17 hours ago||I assumed Thomas was fast since he returned kickoffs.||
|2 days 3 hours ago||The Cespedes trade worked out as soon as Porcello||
signed that contract with Boston. No way the Tigers were ever going to pay him that kind of money. It doesn't matter whether he bounces back or not, he would've been gone. Meanwhile they have Wilson and two prospects, plus better production from Cespedes this season.
|2 days 19 hours ago||You said the pay ban was stayed.||
Then contradicted yourself in a manner I found confusing.
|2 days 19 hours ago||relevant story|
|2 days 19 hours ago||You've got it reversed.||
The injunction would have allowed payments for use of athletes' likenesses. The injunction was stayed, so the pay ban remains in place.
|3 days 18 hours ago||RFK||
I went there near the end. Felt older than it was, without any of the charm you hope for from an old stadium.
|3 days 19 hours ago||I'll throw in a couple of recruiting updates that don't need||
their own thread. From Twitter.
2015 RB Jordan Stevenson to Nebraska. Will get to face Wisconsin every year. Coincidence?
2016 OL Gavin Cupp got the OSU offer he wanted. Dantonio pulling his offer didn't matter, but he is the one who would have loved the early signing period, not Cupp.
|4 days 13 hours ago||I doubt he was.||
He got mentioned early, but the interest in him seemed to fade quickly.
|4 days 16 hours ago||Look at what the Reds got for Cueto as a guide.||
Price is worth more.
|4 days 16 hours ago||That's highy speculative.||
It's a good decision, but you can't really argue that waiting until so close to the deadline to even field offers maximizes their value. You always risk the number of sellers going up and the number of buyers dropping. Hopefully, it works out.

then is he in favor of 5 year guaranteed scholarships too? Has he been in favor of 4 year guaranteed scholarships, or is this just him wanting his own job to be easier?
The flip side to his argument is simple. If players are eligible to play an extra year, then there will be fewer scholarships available for incoming freshmen every year.
The scope of his solution doesn't fit the potentiall problem. After a few years, few recruits will need to take an academic redshirt. Students will adjust to the new standards.
How many freshmen does he redshirt as it is? (Of those, how many are coming back for their fifth year?) If all, then the rule has no effect. If most, then it has a minimal effect. If none or few, then it again has a minimal effect. For the freshmen that do play, who are they taking playing time from? Is it the other freshmen that aren't ready, or from players already on the roster. In other words, just how often would one true freshman's ineligibility directly lead to burning one from someone who wasn't ready? Beyond that, how many of those freshmen would prefer not to play, given the option? Ultimately, I think it's a tiny number.
|4 days 23 hours ago||The change in schedule happened because of realignment.||
The schedules need to have 3 home/3 away versus division opponents. That wasn't possible last year without changing the rotation of some games.
|4 days 23 hours ago||I don't know.||
If Brandon ignored the OSU game, two bad things could happen. OSU uses your logic and ignores it too. Much more likely, is that the opinion of one school about a rivalry doesn't carry as much weight as both schools'. The system didn't automatically grant AD's requests, as I understood it.

but those were fantastic cards. Getting Harbuagh was a coup. That he was available was pure chance. The Nike contract was great. That it was up for renewal, again pure chance.
Hackett could have done just as good a job and had to settle for a very good coach, but not a spectacular hire. Say Jim Mora, Jr. Season tickets sales improve, but not dramatically. Fans wiould wait to see real improvement on the field. If we're still on the old Adidas deal for a few more years, he's left looking for ways to boost revenue and/or cut expenses. That's generally the part of the AD's job that draws the ire of fans.
Lastly, he was replacing a blunderous and reviled AD. There were obvious little things available to earn goodwill. Some were even directed by Schlissel.
I don't want to take away any credit. I'm very happy Hackett is our AD. Still, I think the opinions of his performance would be a lot more tentative if not for some circumstances beyond his control.

At least as of 2013, the latest year I found statistics for nationally. I'm not sure how that relates to anecdotal evidence that football is dropping because kids are specializing in a single sport. There are a lot of variables. Football requires more players than other sports. It's more subject to getting dropped at smaller schools, which could accelerate a decline.
|5 days 2 hours ago||Participation in Ohio HS football dropped nearly 20%||
from 2008-2012. Participation nationally is dropping at a much slower rate.
|5 days 12 hours ago||Yes, and where they also ignore UM-Dearborn, Mich Tech||
and private schools like Kalamazoo College.
|5 days 17 hours ago||They have been recruiting Bridges, despite his always being.||
considered a longshot. Remember that his spot was taken by Battle for awhile. If they felt better about their chances, probably they hold off on offering Watson. The problem is that their plan B guys aren't going to wait forever. They decided not to offer Cumberland and he comitted to Cinci. They just just went through the eval period and didn't offer Watson until it was over. He was planning to commit soon too.
It is disappointing to miss out on him. We're picking up solid prospects, but not obvious game changers. That being said, you can never be certain how the roster will shake out. There's always the possibility of unexpected attrition. I don't think Michigan is completely done recruiting Bridges. He can still schedule an OV, even if there isn't room for him at the time.
|5 days 18 hours ago||Indiana was the favorite until the moment Michigan offered.||
Then it was all over. I know the feeling, but can't feel the least bit sorry for them.
|5 days 18 hours ago||No, Bridges does not have an offer.||
He canceled every planned trip here. Honestly, I don't think he's ever had any interest. He only talks about us because we're the other in-state school. It's great that he has nice things to say, but the coaches must surely have a good idea of his level of interest.
|5 days 18 hours ago||Bridges is/was a pipe dream.||
He mentions Michigan, but has never even set foot on campus. His family lives an hour away and he's made multiple trips to MSU. That's a strong indication that he has no interest in coming here.
|5 days 18 hours ago||That may be closer to the truth. As I recall, Webb didn't||
exactly endorse that report, but passed it along fwiw. In any case, Nauta has interest and is planning an OV.
|5 days 20 hours ago||How is any of that the least bit relevant?||
|5 days 20 hours ago||Quite recently Sam Webb quoted one of Scout's southern||
analysts. The gist of his report was that Nauta would end up at FSU or Michigan, with a real chance for either.
