The only thing i'm worried about is negative recruiting. Other coaches telling the players that he will not be here that long because of his age. What would be nice would be to pick up a young talented defensive position coach for Mattison to take with him on recruiting trips. Mattison could name him as sort of a DC in waiting so recruits could feel more secure. I have no ideas about who this young coach could be, maybe someone more knowledgable than me could make a suggestion.
That being said this is still a great hire and it's nice to see Michigan moving in the right direction.
