This is now old news, meaing info from Friday, making now old news in terms of the ever changing ordeal.. But Mizzou people say that they talked to Delaney, and he offered them a 8 year partial membership. Meaning it would be 8 years until Mizzou could share revenue, and they promptly said no thanks. Think that is Mizzou speak for their willingness to go to a lessor league if KU and Mizzou stay together, and KSU to a lessor extent. Doubt Mizzou comes in.

Too bad

I loved watching him as a player, but really.. it sounds like he even turned on his mom. So sad.. I hope he can turn it around and be productive post-time away.

Kind of a serious process question

Does the State of Michigan have a public law that requires positions to be posted for X number of days for public employment? What I am trying to say is that many people think or assume that on Jan 2nd that Brandon is just going to walk out and say Rich is gone, Jim will be here by 5, thanks.

I know at least in Missouri, you have to "search" coaching jobs, even if you have a candidate lined up. In fact, most public employment hirings require that you interview a minority, or rank more like it, who your minority candidates were. We do that to get through gender equity.

Maybe Brandon can do just that, say Rich is out, Jim is in, but it seems like there would have to be some kind of process??

I have a hard time naming a title trophy after a guy that spent most of his career not in the B10. In fact, he spent several "careers" (tenure wise) of most head coaches coaching outside of the B10.  And its just wrong to name an award after someone who is still an active coach. That trophy would have been fine to just have called it the Alonzo Stagg Trophy.

RR bonus?

I'm pretty sure that it is standard policy to give a coach a bonus for taking a team to a New Year's day bowl. Someone posted what looked like a copy of his contract last week, that included a Bowl bonus.  Kind of hard to fire a guy who meets an incentive clause??

Missouri v M's D?

Michigan's Defense has probably seen enough of Missouri's offense in practice that it might not be a bad thing to play Missouri. What I'm saying is the Mizzou's offense is fairly similar to UM's, but not as good.

Blaine Gabbert does not equal or come close to Denard..

Personally, I'd rather play on New Year's Day.. better showcase, and if the Gator Bowl would take Michigan, that would be the place to play.

Delaware should be #1 in the FCS polls this week, but its still a joke that Ratto votes them with his AP ballot. Just shows that quite a few AP voters don't take it seriously.

For selfish reasons

I'd love to see UM beat Mizzou in a Bowl Game. It would shut a lot of MU fans up that they are always hating on Blue. And their AP voter Mike Dearmond was one of the few that didn't vote UM in the AP poll early on.. that would be sweet justice.

North

The years I had season tix, most of them were spent in Sec 38..  we spent a couple of years in the South endzone, but most of my Michigan memories came from sitting in 38.

As far as moments go. there have been great moments in both endzones.

Harbaugh, Terminal Job?

My concern, and I was at almost every home game the guy played at Michigan, is that even if he came here, it wouldn't be a terminal job for him. Not saying it would be for RR, but it was for Bump, it was for Bo, it would have been for Moe, it was for Carr. However, I don't really believe it would be for Harbaugh. Maybe, but I don't think it would, there would always be the NFL out there. Maybe that's ok, just saying, it is something to consider. I guess if he got it going, and left in 5 years, at least he got the program back. That might be what the program needs. At the very least, and people probably don't remember this, but Harbaugh would have to make that Bo decision, the one where A&M offered Bo a lot of jack to go, but he stayed true to Blue.

Charter in St. Louis

Doesn't have the overflow either, but it says we do get UM-Umass, which will be good.
