...yes, instead let's hope that Jim Mora Jr. introduces Chris Clark and the other recruits to his father. When Jr. is talking about the team's prospects for next year and aims a little high in terms of postseason aspirations, Sr. can reel him in a bit: http://youtu.be/s2R2sH2ScBM

Maybe he will end up with a full body tattoo and on the roof of Jerryworld after the celebration and will serve as the inspiration for The Hangover 7 (or whatever number they are on).

Threads like this every now and again are a great reminder that no matter how valid a thought or argument is, packaging and delivery matters. The primary difference between this board and, say, the Rivals board is that posters are generally better about delivery here, and moderators take care of those who have ongoing difficulty with it. Everybody gets a chance to sip (or guzzle) the snark on this thread and duly consider it for their next post...but if it doesn't work out here, there's always MLive.

Now that you mention it, Pete Thamel will write a 1500 word article about how Urban would have to turn down the Brinks truck that the Raiders parked outside of the Horseshoe because Urban doesn't want to be in a job where he can't share his dreams about high school boys (and their college choices).

Even when mulling a purchase from Ann Arbor Torch & Pitchfork, I am guessing fans tend to be optimistic and hopeful when they see their team is improving. When it happens so rapidly with one event (IT'S HAPPENING!!!!), expectations get a bit out of whack and fan optimism can eventually breed unrealistic expectations (every five-star recruit will flip to Michigan!!! Top assistants will walk to Ann Arbor!!!) nevertheless, even if the unrealistic expectations eventually become too unrealistic to lead anywhere but disappointment, by that time hopefully Harbaugh will have won some games--i.e. produced exactly the result he was hired for..

Stuart Scott was a SportsCenter staple when I first started watching--I thought he was really great at the time. I remember seeing that he got into MMA training and was looking in pretty good health, but cancer doesn't always betray its havoc on the outside. My condolences to his family.

I hated Brandon less than most, and the things he said like most fans knowing only 5% and all that glitters didn't phase me. That said, DB didn't show he could secure a big-time coach. Just like seven years of RR and BH (who both had ups and downs) will make the fan base appreciate Harbaugh more, DB will make us appreciate Hackett (and hopefully a worthy successor) more.

First, results-based posbang! Second, I give Hackett a ton of credit for focusing on what matters (getting a grade A+ coach) and not what doesn't (winning the media, putting himself front and center).

In similar news, ProFootballTalk is also reporting Harbaugh likely to Michigan, but Mike Florio's rear apparently still is sore. For the record, I have read and enjoyed that site for almost 10 years (back when PFT was independent), but Florio is a huge WV fan and he was not pleased about Bill Martin raiding the WV athletic department. Florio has been getting snide comments about Michigan since then.

It's about winning. Former New England assistants run "secretive" operations when they follow the lead of their former employer who looks a lot less stupid doing it because he wins. Just like Pete Carroll's rah rah would be a schtick if he wasn't winning.

Well, that is positive. Rivals seemed to be the most conservative of the Michigan-side reporters.

During or near (memory fails) the Eagles' most recent Super Bowl run, when TO was having a great regular season, TO was on pace to catch over 15 touchdowns. TO also warmed up in an all-white outfit. Andy Reid said that if TO broke 15, he (Andy Reid) would wear the same skin-tight all white outfit. One of the national telecasts mentioned this and gave an artists rendition of what it would look like--Andy Reid's head on the Michelin Man's body. Instead of that, they could have used the above picture (though edited out the Dumb & Dumber haircut). Yikes!

If Ian Rapoport covered college football, during The Process he would have noted that former Michigan DC was "in town" as well...though, in fairness, Rapoport's reporting still is marginally better than Pete Thamel's hard-hitting report on Cardale Jones' smile...

Well, on one hand, the internet is forever. I have to assume he will make a clean break from his online persona(s) eventually. He will probably be able to do this as long as he didn't give out a bunch of identifying information. On the other hand, you do have a point that he appears to not (yet) have learned his lesson. Or, I hope he hasn't learned the lesson that bullshitting/trolling is the quickest way to attention as long as one has no shame.

Eeeeh, I get the whole "try him as an adult" thought because of his insistence coupled with hiding behind the "I'm 14" when criticized. Still, the best course of action seems to be ignoring him. I think the better lesson is "if you give bad information, nobody listens" rather than "if you give act like a troll, people listen and respond." The first lesson creates a more responsible adult; the second creates Drew Sharp.

NFL people are creatures of habit. I remember reading an article where some anonymous scout said he wouldn't draft Andy Dalton because he couldn't think of a franchise quarterback who had red hair. In this situation, I bet few if any successful pro coaches have chosen to go back to college when several pro teams would have hired them in a heartbeat.
