On second play from scrimmage.

Surgical repair and subsequent rehab will get him to 100% in less than 6 months, the mental aspect of learning to trust the knee again and not think about it is the biggest hurdle.
|4 days 2 hours ago||There is a woman at my gym||
who spends 45 minutes walking briskly on an inclined treadmill, attends an hour-long yoga class, then gets into her Mercedes sport coupe with handicapped Tag parked in a handicapped spot and drives off. The sole criteria for obtaining a handicapped Tag in my state is the physician-documented inability to walk 200 feet. Would you report her to the DOT, or just MYOB? This bugs the crap out of me for some reason...

And I'm just getting up for the Posbang! Off next week, so I am letting my staff clock out at noon for the weekend. Pouring rain out here in the desert all week, cooler temps giving a teaser of the end of the summer heat, which usually happens by October. I just love this time of year....!

Not only that he was funny as fuck (check out his TWO hours on Inside The Actors Studio), not only that he was just amazing in Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society, etc.; not only that he was a fellow cycling enthusiast, but when Christopher Reeves broke his neck he paid for nearly all of his medical care until the day Reeves died. I feel like I lost a friend....

stayed on the Glock Bus. But then again, every other bus had a Captain, we had a Rear Admiral.
|4 weeks 6 days ago||Getting into wet shaving for the sake of economy||
is actually a bit difficult. Think of it more in terms of taking a mundane daily function normally performed half-asleep into a ritual that is for your enjoyment, and a rare opportunity to really treat yourself to something special.

for the great state of OHIO!
|5 weeks 11 hours ago||The Tobacconist in the Arcade||
....is a very good place to start. I would recommend that you start of with a Double Edge safety razor. Going from a can of goo and a 3-4-5 blade cartridge razor to a straight edge blade is asking for trouble- your skin will need to get used to an entirely different shaving technique. Also, you will need a strop and other items, and the overall hassle is much greater for a straight-edge vs a DE safety. You will need a decent shaving brush (badger!) and will want to consider shaving soaps or real shaving cream- throw out that can! Aside from the Arcade you can check out sites like westcoastshaving.com; There are also Art of Shaving stores but they are more like the gateway drug to this whole thing. I personally like Truefitt & Hill, but there are a lot of other good, if esoteric brands. Important point- go slowly and allow the weight of the blade to do the work. DO NOT press down like you would with a cartridge! Another resource is to do a search for "Mantic59" on YouTube, he has many videos on shaving technique, etc.
There WILL be a learning curve. Back in the day fathers taught sons proper technique, but if you are just starting out you may expect "a few" nicks and cuts. I strongly recommend you check out the Nick Stick. Proper shaving can be a real treat to yourself, take the time....

I can't remember seeing so much rain, day after day, in any previous Tour going back 20 years. Question: I DVR the Tour so that I can catch up with it later; time being a factor, I don't want to record the original live feed. Which replay is the best one to watch? The Prime Time?

|6 weeks 2 days ago||If someone is DVRing a sports event||
and you deliberately ruin it, you are an unmitigated asshole, pure and simple. Being out in the Pacific Time Zone, I very frequently have to DVR events (UM games, World Cup, le Tour). If the outcome is going to suck, that's life and also what the FF button is for.

|6 weeks 4 days ago||1989 Rose Bowl||
It was an absolute catharsis, Bo and UM beating USC in Pasadena after coming from behind in the second half. It was his second bowl win, and it felt a bit more real than his first win against Washington coming from a depleted Pac-10 a few years before. We had parked next to a couple of young guys in a pickup who had driven all the way from MI, and they were all excited and confident we were going to win. Us older alumni gave them the NSFMF and told them not to get their hopes up. They waited for us until we came back to our cars well after the game, to give us the best and greatest "I told you so!" in my entire life.
The 1998 Rose Bowl was a close second...

Normally things really slow down around here in the southwest, the snowbirds have gone back to Canadia and the Land of 10,000 mosquitos, the dry heat yields to "monsoon" season, and things get generally quiet. Great time to relax a bit and schedule time off, etc. BUT NOOOOOO!!!!! This year it hasn't let up, I am booked out a couple of weeks, it has been absolutely crazy. I am in danger of violating my life philosphy "You can always make more money, but you can't make more time!" Gonna hit the couch this weekend....
