"What (Michigan coaches) told me is that they're focusing on point guards right now, but if anything opens up, they'll definitely come back on and recruit me as hard as they were," said Towns

If you only included the Belein era? In many respects we were pretty dismal prior to his arrival, and that would skew UM's overall results significantly downward.

losing an away game tends to be a pretty crappy experience, particularly when dealing with fans. The MMB went to Purdue in 1979, and UM lost that game (couldn't score from the goal line with time running out), and that game just sucked with the purdue "fans" really going after us as we marched away form the stadium. I had the great fortune of being in the MMB and seeing UM beat the buckeyes in Columbus 1978 and 1980, and the fans were actually nice to us as we were leaving their stadium.

That was exactly the time I was there for grad school- didn't even bother going to the games, but then the grad experience is entirely different from undergrad, especially coming from UM. Tulane recently finished building Yulman stadium, a 30,000 seat outdoor facility on campus.

when we lived in Chicago- it was right across from our athletic club. Any restaurant can have an off night or be very busy, but this girl was way beyond anything we had ever experienced.

Went in without reservations on a busy night, they offered us table service in the bar area. Fine, no problem, my wife had been a waitress in her youth, we understand. But what they did was get the hostess girl to wait our table, or at least tried to; she was obviously pissed off to the extreme that she should have to wait a table, and proceeded to do whatever she could to ignore, abuse, disdain etc., we couldn't even get served water. Eventually I asked for the manager and politely expressed my desire to apologise to the young lady for inconveniencing her. We declined having our meal comped, but it remains the only time in 30+ years I have ever not tipped a server.

All white, 455 cu in engine, front bumper was a foot deep, seated about 20. If there wasn't enough space to park, I would ease that bumper up to the car ahead of me and push it forward. Hand me down from my parents 1979, sold it for $100 in 1983. FWIW my next car was a Toyota Celica, had it for the next decade.

My favorite hotel in London is the K+K Hotel George, just steps away from the Earl's Court Tube stop off the Picadilly line (i.e. direct from Heathrow with no changes). There is a pub nearby (The Kings Head) which actually has amazing food, not to mention the ale. Basically everything is easily accesible with an Oyster Card and a decent Tube map. I LOVE London! Oh and btw- the admission to Westminster Abbey is totally worth it, even if you are not a history buff the place is fascinating.
You really need to stay at least a week- if you are already going for a long weekend, PLEASE extend your stay, trust me.
