Does anyone have a link to the game?

I put on an orange shirt…

I put on an orange shirt today without even thinking about the game. My subconscious must’ve been though.

He did have a hand in being…

He did have a hand in being on the good side of 55-24 in 2017. I think they intercepted Barrett 5 times in that game.

I’ve been using Butcher Box…

I’ve been using Butcher Box for all of my meat for over two months now. I add in their filet mignons for every box.

Agree with you on the FG’s…

Agree with you on the FG’s. Forcing turnovers and recruiting are both correct, but they’re also obvious, while forcing FG’s, especially in the red zone, isn’t talked about enough.

It is a bit “bend don’t break,” but as you said, teams are going to move the ball. And I prefer that style to Brown's, which seems to be “bash (sack or tfl) or bust.”

You’re correct.

Michigan…

You’re correct.

Michigan did have a 17-7 lead in the second half of 2016 at one point. But the dropped interception came in 1st half of the 2017 game, with Michigan holding a 14-0 lead.

Not sheepish about it, but…

Not sheepish about it, but Linkin Park is always my go-to

RIP Chester Bennington

Careful with your “Dear…

Careful with your “Dear Reader” recommendation. I once recommended Michael Malice’s other book “The New Right” on here and was accused of being a fascist.

I attended in 2017 and was…

I attended in 2017 and was amazed by how often Devin Bush was in the quarterback’s face. I also remember being worried by how often Devin Bush was able to be in the quarterback’s face. Both of those things proved to be signs of what was to come.

Our hope is that he’s Mark…

Our hope is that he’s Mark Helfrich.

I believe there are four…

I believe there are four inexcusable losses in the Harbaugh era; not necessarily just the loss itself, but the way in which they went down:

2017: MSU & South Carolina

2018: Ohio State

2019: Wisconsin

I think the obvious omission is 2016 Iowa, but I keep that one off the list for the reasons OP stated. 2015 OSU and 2017 PSU were blowouts that, looking back, I'm not too surprised by. And nobody cared about last years bowl game.

We, as a collective fanbase,…

We, as a collective fanbase, are not well.

My one positive:

PSU's QB…

My one positive:

PSU's QB was not at all impressive on Saturday night against Iowa. I'm confident he'll look worse against our defense.

My negative:

If the law of averages actually applied to Michigan football we would have a few more victories in The Game over the past 15 years.

This past Saturday was the…

This past Saturday was the first full game I’ve listened to in years. I was so incredibly disturbed by it I was contemplating creating a thread about who we can contact about getting a new PBP guy and moving Brandstatter back to color. It’s bad. And I agree with the take about “saaaack tiime” being super cringeworthy.

Yes, please.

I grew up…

Yes, please.

I grew up listening to more Michigan football games than watching. Brandy was the perfect compliment to Frank Beckman, but play by play is not for him. I haven't listened to full Michigan game since he took over.

Amplified pressure of being…

Amplified pressure of being the expected “savior” of his alma mater.

I may be negged for making this comparison but here goes:

I’m currently the Home Supervisor of a program for 7-12 year old at-risk boys. I came into the position after having worked directly in the home for 4 years, leaving for a year and then returning in the head spot last winter, replacing my old boss.

I was good at my job when I was a direct care worker, and that’s the biggest reason I’m now in the position I’m in; and this was a goal and dream of mine. The pressure is immense, though. And it’s amplified because this is the home I started and grew up professionally in. I have no doubts that I’d sleep better at night if I was supervising another program in the organization.

There’s a lot more weighing on Harbaugh to succeed here than anywhere else he’s been. Both from outside expectations and from the pressure he’s feeling within his own head.

Speight was awful in this…

Speight was awful in this game, and they were like 0 for everything in the red zone. And, iirc, that one fumble was on the first drive of the game and seemed to deflate the entire offense as well as Michigan Stadium.

Can't wait to read the…

Can't wait to read the entire book. Not gonna lie, though, you know these two chapters will be required reading for every State player the week of the game, and... that concerns me

I think Day will be more…

I think Day will be more Mark Helfrich than Luke Fickell

Ryan Day will be OSU's…

Ryan Day will be OSU's version of Mark Helfrich

I don't know if you know…

I don't know if you know this or not, but it's actually possible to thoroughly enjoy reading about a subject even if you don't personally subscribe to that subject. Also, I simply stated that I read the book and enjoyed it and said nothing else about it; clearly, I was unable to restrain myself.

So that was actually…

So that was actually Harbaugh’s second spring game...

You're right, and I'm pretty…

You're right, and I'm pretty sure the committee would indeed ignore that precedent. I just wanted to provide a little historical context. Also, the computers definitely got it wrong because it should've been LSU versus that USC team that destroyed Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

Everyone does apparently…

Everyone does apparently hate you for this, but it would definitely interesting to see what the committee would do if all of this were to happen. And there actually is a somewhat similar precedent if they were to go with Michigan.. I believe it was the 2003 season when Kansas St blew out Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship game, and Oklahoma still went on to play for the National Championship, losing to LSU.

They're so bad. Apparently…

They're so bad. Apparently RPO's are the reason two quarterbacks went down with injury this evening. Also, I'm pretty sure he was inquiring that quarterbacks should never run.

No, I was never big enough…

No, I was never big enough to play right guard.

It may seem minuscule, but I…

It may seem minuscule, but I think a factor that could be playing a part in the Watson PI/non-PI plays the past couple weeks is him wearing white gloves covering an away player in a white jersey.

Could be the son of former…

Could be the son of former NFL quarterback Tommy Maddox. I think he played for the Steelers.

I noticed you skipped over…

I noticed you skipped over his college days

Thanks dad.

Thanks dad.

I don't really want to…

I don't really want to create a new thread for this: Did I miss the "This month in Mgoblog history" diary for the month of September, or has it not been posted yet? It's literally one of my favorites on this entire blog.

It's important to remember,…

It's important to remember, the 2016 defense struggled a little against UCF and Colorado at the beginning of the season as well

The way Urban Meyer has…

The way Urban Meyer has acted throughout this entire saga is a big reason, unfortunately, why he's been such a successful head coach in terms of wins and losses. He refuses to back down. He returns every punch with a punch of his own, and he's not going to let up until he feels he's won. I'm not trying to defend him in any way here; it's just that this competitive nature we're seeing - as ugly as it is, considering what it's all about - is a bit of a glimpse into why the man has been able to win so many games and bring in the best players. And until the college game makes some changes, these types of men will continue to succeed.

It was definitely a good run…

It was definitely a good run, but probably not a great idea to bring that dude up at this point in time

I agree. I'm risking…

I agree. I'm risking sounding like a Buckeye, but I feel like his periodic relaesing of information is a bit slimy and self-indulging.

And you could argue that the…

And you could argue that the guy in East Lansing should be on that list and at the very top of the "should be fired" list as well.

Yeah, Iggy could be a…

Yeah, Iggy could be a special player.

I'd love to watch a season 2…

I'd love to watch a season 2, but on the other hand, I'm glad they're not doing it for the sake of eliminating distractions. This is much the same way I feel about the depth of the submarine this year: I'd really like to hear some news, but at the same time, I'm okay with them staying laser-focused and keeping it all away from us and everyone else until Notre Dame. It's reminiscent of 2015's submarine, and I believe that was our most focused year under Harbaugh.

For a slot guy, his strength…

For a slot guy, his strength seems to be his ability to track down and catch deep balls, even difficult ones with two defenders in the area. He leaves a bit tobe desired when it comes to catching short/intermediate passes and making plays in space.

Don Brown wouldn't do that. Don Brown wouldn't do that.
Playoff Rondo is so fun to Playoff Rondo is so fun to watch though
I'm not sure we'll be seeing I'm not sure we'll be seeing Grayson Allen a whole lot in the NBA
It is pretty bad, but it does It is pretty bad, but it does a good job exposing people for who they really are. Wether they're some of the worst people on earth or someone who can't take any kind of criticism.
Geno Smith and a Geno Smith and a non-doghoused Josh Gordon would have been helpful. I realize that would have been asking way too much with Gordon, though.
Curious as to why you chose Curious as to why you chose that basketball season?
I wonder if umbig11 has been I wonder if umbig11 has been prohibited from posting his spring practice updates in order to make these bits more interesting?
I'm only two episodes in but I'm only two episodes in but definitely agree with you on Speight. He's not coming well at all thus far. At the same time, I found the indecision by the coaching staff, Harbaugh in particular, to be frustrating. For example, the beginning of the 2nd half of the Florida game when he very bashfully says, "Speight's in", and has to repeat himself because it's almost like he's avoiding having to say it.
Did we play Uconn that year? Did we play Uconn that year?
This is mind blowing stuff This is mind blowing stuff
