Woooooo!

Very deserving of the early pick, congrats to him!

Moving

Bruce Conforth

Any class with this guy was awesomely entertaining and a great persepective on life. I had a Blues class with him and it was amazing. Wasn't able to get his Hippies and Beatnicks class, but that one was supposed to be one of the best on campus.

A great life professor if you ask me

Lame

Now I'm starting to wish all of those rental stores didn't go out of business by my house

Slow play

I'd much rather slow play and lose a recruit than sign him and not have a spot for him when he gets on campus. I hope this doesn't come back to bite us, but I can't blame a kid for having his own best interest in mind.

Definitely thought ths was

Definitely thought ths was going to be about how he finished writing his first book, quite the contrary.

Great videos

I've gotta say the ones you've made have been great, looking forward to the 2011 hype video

Awesome

I really hope they stop half-assing these games and actually try to fix some of the problems instead of releasing the same game every year with a new terrible feature that they released years ago but decided to rename.

This could help as EA is clearly monoplizing the market. I'm just not sure if there is enough national authority in the football gaming market to have a substantial impact, but I hope it does something.

Hemmingway

Hemmingway always finds ways to surprise me with his athleticism. I just think back to those  huge plays in the Illinois game. I bet he has a big year.

Is it football season yet?

Use a lb spy and man

Use a lb spy and man coverage, try to get a db on the rb so he can keep up to the flat. Might take some pre snap adjustments which can be really tough when user players snap the ball outright without making any reads. Online in a lot of sports games (football in particular) are just too easily exploited for my liking, can never get a realistic game. Pretty sad

I wonder what any of these

I wonder what any of these "predictions" can really be based on other than last year  (a different system with a different coach) and the fact that we're running a different offense... I'll hold off paying any attention to these until at least after the spring game.

Transition period

This is a transition period and needs to be taken in to account. Even if this class finishes outside of the top 20, I wouldn't consider it the end of a streak, whatever that entails. Its really just a hiccup based solely on recruitng sites which is another argument I won't get in to. I've got faith in this class and we are filling positions of need which is the important thing.

Great athlete Looks like he has some amazing balance and makes plays at any position. Would love to have this guy but it might be a reach so late in recuiting.
Keep Kuester

Get a top 5 pick... then fire him. I gave up on this season after the first five games.

Yeeesh

Lets not become Notre Dame... please

Nothing like it

Coming in from any gate and just getting that indescribable feeling as you walk in, I can honestly say I have never gotten that with any other stadium I've been to.

I was worried that the addition would be too modern and destroy the aesthetics, but they really did a great job.

GRCC football

I played a few years at small college and we scrimmaged GRCC. At the time, a few years ago, they had stud athletes and a really solid program for developing players. Good luck to him and I hope we see him in maize and blue in the future.

ACC

ACC in a nutshell

Purdue

I'm surprised they're still ranked so high with the injury to Hummel, some rankings had them drop into the 20s after the news.

Should be an interesting year

Maybe?

Is that Omameh?

It's a beautiful thing, regardless of who it is

Indeed

My bad

Defense

Our defense is still pretty young and probably haven't experienced the full Barwis effect. Also it takes two for the system to work so it relies heavily on the athlete completing full workouts, especially over summer. Like people have said, Martin and Roh are pretty sound examples imo

Denard

Love how this guy interviews, always smiling and giving credit all around. I especially liked the comment about last years ND game, feeling like he was leading the comeback with Tate.

Just a great guy

Rogers

Absolutely has to be Rogers as well, the corners have played admirably in the absence of Woolfolk. Really the defense in general has played very well despite a few long plays and breakdowns. Bend but don't break is a much better philosophy then a break... then break some more which is what a lot of people anticipated prior to the UCONN game.

Keep it up D

Their Dline looks like it

Their Dline looks like it could get pushed around and if we can get pressure on that QB, I bet he'll make some bad decisions.

I think the key to this game will be to slow the offense, hard to tell how effective they will be against a solid defense.

good call

That was the game, and that was the ruling.

Thanks for clarifying

RR

You think the two games is enough for him to keep his job?

I hope you're right because he has some things in place, but that may be a tad optimistic so early in the season.

Some of those "easy wins" have been difficult games in the past, but time will tell.

Touchback

Similar play happened in a different game, don't recall which one but it wasn't reviewed either, and the ruling would have been a touchback (according to the announcers).

Cornerback

Is not a position that comes easily. He was a stud running back in high school, but never heard anything about his defensive ability (I'm from the area).

He is an amazing athlete though and has relatively good size to play the position. And with our depth at slot, it just makes sense to try to get him on to the field.

Looking forward to seeing how he works out, he has the athleticism to do it and I'm optimistic that he'll do well once he settles in.

Looked good

The team looked good, a lot of offensive plays, hopefully not too telling of this years defense, but there were some plays made on both sides of the ball.

I noticed that the runnings backs were doing pretty well. I was a little worried after the spring scrimmage, though I know it was just spring and I probably didn't need to be, but its good to see some production out of our RBs. Curious to see who's going to get the starting nod.

13 days.

1997 vs. Ohio State

First game I had ever been to and from what I remember it was amazing; granted I was 8 at the time with little bearing on just what this win meant for Michigan football, but it sparked my interest in the greatest program of all time.

Sharepod

I had to do this a few years ago, it was with an older Ipod, but I used an application called sharepod. It was free at the time, but I'm not sure if it works with the touch or if its even still available.  Good luck

Agree

These guys are professionals and this sort of thing just seems kind of immature. I don't mind seeing it to a mild extent in high school and even college, but I just don't think it's neccesary to "earn" your place on a team that way.

I like the way Roy Williams handeled the situation in the end, not making it a bigger deal than it needed to be. Some of the claims were kind of outrageous.

On the other hand it is somewhat of a tradition that everyone went through, I just don't see the point of degrading a player that way.

Stress?

Big difference between coaching a few players here and there and head coaching an NFL/college football team.

Those guys put in some serious hours and are under a ton of stress.

He does seem to really enjoy it though, and I would love to see him come back to coaching sometime in the future.

Resume builder

"It says here you have 15,909+ mgopoints, is this true?"

"Why yes, yes it is"

"You're hired"

Congrats!

Midwest Bike& Tandems

Bike fell off the back of my car on the expressway, had some bent handle bars and messed up pedals.

The owner was really friendly and extremely helpful, the price was also quite reasonable, much less than what I was willing to pay.

It's slightly hidden, and a little drive from central campus (Plymouth road) but the service was great

I had my speculations during

I had my speculations during the Army All American Game, when just about every top recruit gave the camera a Gator chomp, though my speculations were a little more grand than facebook posting

Percentages aren't bad but

I hate to give percentage chances on winning games

Too many factors that just can't be accounted for

And it hurts to see how low that OSU percentage is

Grady's, Ronald Johnson

I played against Kelvin and Demarcus Grady in football and basketball since I was a kid, is that worthy of this thread? haha

Also I played against Ronald Johnson (USC) in football for 1.5 years, he was hurt the first year, but he sat on the sideline and I shook his hand, so thats gotta be worth something. Glad to say when he did play, he didn't score on our defense (I was D captain).

Ohhh the glory days

Hart

Looks extremely impressive

Feels good to have him on my fantasy team

I wonder if he can keep it up into the next rounds though

Dee

Have heard only good things about Mr. Hart.

Seems to be a hard worker and a great back for the Rich Rod system, just hope he makes the right decision and chooses Mich in the end

I thought he was just on the I thought he was just on the practice squad for basketball and going to return once the basketball season ended, but I could be wrong
Clarification I don't mean to call these players average, that's why I added the "what most websites/rankings." I personally love the way we have recruited and believe that all these players have potential to succeed.
Texas... ugh I've got a brother in law from Texas, he played at North Texas for a couple of years. He says that all the best players in the state basically go to Texas... and a lot of the time end up transferring due to their immense depth. With a state that loaded with football talent, recruiting isn't too much of a problem. Michigan on the other hand is forced to look around, and reach outside of the state. We could rely on our 10 win seasons to reel in recruits before, but now we have a real challenge. However in an offensive scheme like Rich Rods, we are able to take chances on what most websites/rankings see as avreage players and turn them in to real studs. Hopefully the recruiting staff can pick up some more big time recruits this year, but I'm not going to be too worried aobut it if they don't.
Agree Yeah I've gotta say I don't believe much in recruiting these kids. It is just impossible to judge skill and aptitude at that age.
Plans? I plan to read variations of the same post over and over whilst spying on current and future recruits. Also calling anyone willing to talk about the future of the Michigan program and arguing why they are most likely wrong. Good luck
Put in place Previously being a student athlete and working with student athletes now, I feel I can say that almost all high school athletes with an ounce of skill think they are amazing, because ... well they are (or were). Coming to a big time program as a freshman is a huge wake up call and from what I've heard they all seem pretty humbled being on campus and working with other athletes of similar caliber. Excited to see what these recruits can do. Go Blue!
