Will there be TV coverage or an online stream for the Niagara game at all? |

Somewhere out there, Tae Odoms is shaking his head sadly. |

I think it will be relatively close until midway through the second half, then Michigan pulls away for a 14 point win.
GRIII cools off from 3 point range and only gets about 12, but Trey cleans up the turonvers, Stauskas shoots the lights out (15+ pts) and McGary announces his presence with a breakout game. |

Have they said when it will tip off? I'm trying to watch it on my phone while traveling. |
| 1 year 33 weeks ago | Soft Goals? |
I watched the highlights this morning and it looked to me like Niagara's goalie let in some soft goals, but it was pretty tough to tell on my work computer. Could someone who made it to the game comment on that? As another person who was concerned about the offense coming into the season, I'd like to know whether MIchigan has a little more firepower than I thought or whether they just had some puck luck and a sieve to shoot at. Thanks. |

I'm laying in my hammock, I have a pork shoulder in my homemade smoker and plenty of good cold beer to keep me hydrated while I wait for some delicious pulled pork. It's going to be a good day. |
| 2 years 1 day ago | Hockey |
On a somewhat-related note, does anyone know when the hockey team's schedule is generally announced? I ask because I would like to get back to Ann Arbor for a weekend where I can catch a football game and two hockey games at Yost. The past few years there was at least one weekend like that. From looking at the football schedule, the weekends which could potentially have home games for both sports are the Minnesota, Purdue, Nebraska and Ohio State football weekends. |

Is the feed working for you? All I see is a picture of a college basketball game. Is that just because the game hasn't started yet? |

Damn, I'm in NYC and won't be getting the game on CBS. Is there any other way to get the game on TV? Does anyone know whether the UM Club will be organizing a watching party or is there someplace else people will be going that has the game? For anyone looking, here is the link of the coverage map: http://the506.com/sports/?p=1975 |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Lacrosse has grown |
Lacrosse has grown exponentially in the midwest, including Michigan. I coached in the area, and I think that Michigan could do well with the midwest as a recruiting base.
Additionally, many of the best players in the northeast are comfortable going to school away from home - UNC and Duke recruit a large part of their class from Long Island and nearby areas. I think Michigan could recruit from the midwest and pluck a few players from other areas (Maryland, Long Island) each year without too much problem. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Cost |
I agree that the cost of the teams would probably be relatively low, but I would be incredibly surprised if lacrosse ended up being break-even at any point. That's not to say I don't want to see lacrosse added. I played div.1 lacrosse elsewhere before coming to Michigan for grad school, and I probably would've come to Michigan for undergrad if they had a program when I was deciding on schools. I love the sport and would even donate to the lax program at Michigan. That said, I don't believe many of the lacrosse programs in the country are in the black. Hockey gets unbelievable attendance and I would be shocked (but pleased) if the lacrosse team got a similar amount of support. |

Damn, I thought this game was tomorrow. Anyone know where I could find some highlights? I tried the NCAA website and there weren't any posted yet. |

Fair point. |
| 2 years 44 weeks ago | I saw Hart, Patti, and Miller |
I saw Hart, Patti, and Miller in the Union yesterday. I wasn't going to post about it until this topic came up, but I will chime in and mention that Nick is not 5'11". I'm around 5'9" and he wasn't taller than me. That said, he could well put on 3 or more inches still, and I've always thought that height was not nearly as important for college quarterbacks as it is for pro quarterbacks. I hope Nick chooses Michigan, his highlights are impressive. |

I don't mean to be debbie downer, but it's a highlight tape. Of course he made all the right decisions. |
| 2 years 45 weeks ago | I just finished booking a BBQ |
I just finished booking a BBQ and college football roadtrip for September. Three friends and I are going to 3 football games: Cincy @ NC State (Thurs night), Florida @ Tennessee, UCLA @ Texas. On the way we have planned stops at about a dozen of the most famous BBQ places in the south. I think it will be amazing. |

It would be awesome if we could figure out a bar to meet at pregame and take over. Anyone from Fort Wayne want to suggest one near the arena? |

Sorry. I've been online all day and missed it somehow. Neg away. |

I don't think Summers will be playing. I was sitting close to our bench, and noticed he had a knee brace of some kind under his suit pants and was not moving well at all. |

Thanks for all the suggestions. Crunchy's and Menna's both look good. |
| 3 years 10 weeks ago | While $10/hr is obviously not |
While $10/hr is obviously not much pay, I think they will get a fair number of law grads applying. A lot of recent law school grads have been deferred by the firms who offered them jobs, meaning they have a job in theory, but will not start working for awhile and are looking for something to do in the interim. Other law grads don't have a job at all because of this economy. For example, I graduated in December 09, but won't start work until October 2010 - others have been deferred significantly longer. I recently found something to do in the interim, but I would've seriously considered this job otherwise, if for no other reason but I think it would be a cool experience. |

I've decided to nickname Shawn Hunwick "Yoda" due to stature and his apparent ability last night to use his jedi powers to convince the other team that they don't want to shoot the puck on net. |

I think the iPhone does have this capability, but it is disabled in the US b/c of AT&T. I think the feature does work on other networks in other countries with the current version of the phone and software. I could be wrong though. |
| 3 years 16 weeks ago | I agree, Michigan was very |
I agree, Michigan was very impressive. I didn't mean to slight them at all with my comments about their intensity and use of the ten-man ride. From a pure talent standpoint, it certainly appeared Michigan was the better team. It's unbelievable that a club team can take down a d.1 team with scholarships. There is a big gap between the lower d.1 teams like Bellarmine, Detroit, etc. and the big boys like UNC, UVA, Syracuse, etc. I think that Michigan would be able to be competitive right away but would take some time to compete for tournament berths, but I think the time is definitely right to make the jump to division 1. |
| 3 years 16 weeks ago | Disagree. Just because there |
Disagree. Just because there are only two options doesn't mean that there is a 50% chance we sign any one of them. By that logic we have a 50% chance of signing Seantrel Henderson. |
| 3 years 16 weeks ago | I made it out to the |
I made it out to the scrimmage tonight and came away very impressed. Michigan was very talented and played hard, and when they made mistakes they were saved by outstanding goaltending. They lead the whole game and gave Bellarmine fits with their ten-man ride. I think Bellarmine didn't bring nearly the same level of intensity because for Michigan this was a chance for the Wolverines lacrosse team to make a statement, but regardless Michigan clearly showed they belonged on the same field as a division 1 team. |
| 3 years 19 weeks ago | As a Jets fan and Wolverine, |
As a Jets fan and Wolverine, I see both sides of this. I was excited for Charles Woodson winning, because he is one of my favorite players all time. That said, Revis has been unbelievable and I thought objectively had the better season. I knew there was a good chance Woodson would get the award though, and I don't have a problem with it. I know Rex Ryan's comments will rub a lot of people the wrong way, and I'm sure he knew that at the time too. I dont think it bothers him if fans of other teams get annoyed and feel as though he is disrespecting their players. Rex wants the players to know he has their back, and I'm sure Revis loves the support form his coach. |
| 3 years 19 weeks ago | I don't mind you being angry |
I don't mind you being angry with the Wings play, but there's no reason to go making fun of my poor Islanders. They have a hard enough time without getting called out on college football message boards. In all seriousness, the Islanders can be tough to play against. They come at you hard and can make life difficult. Their biggest problem has been play 60 minutes. They have been able to jump all over a lot of good teams. |
| 3 years 19 weeks ago | Manny Harris has not looked |
Manny Harris has not looked like an NBA player this season, definitely not a first round pick anyway. That said, he looks like he has already checked out, so I'll be interested to see whether he decides to stay or declare for the draft. |
| 3 years 21 weeks ago | The game tonight was |
The game tonight was excruciating. I wanted to punch a small child the entire game. Having season tickets to basketball and hockey is torture. Our teams are so frustrating it's unreal. The hockey team looked lifeless and played sloppy. RPI was not in any way a good team. They were slow, less talented, and gave up a ton of chances. I know this post adds no value, I just need to vent. |
