FYI - this is how they're pricing the individual game tix.
Note: the total adds up to $585, but if you buy season tix, you get an upfront discount since you pay $455 (plus your PSD, but that is technically a donation and not a part of the ticket price).

I saw the email yesterday too, but forgot to call at 830. Ended up calling at 10ish and got through after a bunch of redials.

I think a 500 to 1000 donation should do the trick.
|19 hours 51 min ago||If you want to save money,||
If you want to save money, the M vs. ND game isn't your best bet. I'm sure everything will be priced up for that game including tickets, hotels, airfare, car rentals or whatever else you will need. Plus restaurant reservations are probably all booked up.
|19 hours 53 min ago||I just ordered a few more||
I just ordered a few more pairs. You can get a maximum of 8 seats and you can buy them by pairs if you want better seats but don't need to sit together. In other words, the seats don't have to be near your existing seats and you don't need to buy them in one lump together.
The guy I talked to - Brent - was very nice and they are helpful in letting you pick seats that you like.
When you call, have your customer number and credit card handy. Also you should have a Michigan Stadium seating map open on your computer so that you can see what seats he's talking about.

They got rid of the "waiting list" a few years ago.
Now, if you want to become a new season ticketholder, you have to donate a certain amount and then request season tickets. It is based on priority points now and you need approximately 10 or so (anecdotally, from what I've seen so far, although they haven't specified a minimum).
|20 hours 28 min ago||Yes, this is for current||
Yes, this is for current season ticket holders who have specifically requested to purchase additional seats.

Yea, you won't get through for at least a couple hours.

Here's a good write-up on Canteen from the Rutgers staff at NJ.com. Canteen stresses that his school of choice needs to have great academics and a great atmosphere.

It's called "Eastern Christian Academy".
Here's the link to the SI story that you're probably remembering this stuff from.

happens all the time. new lenders are willing to come in based on the existing collateral so long as the old liabilities (incl., liens, encumbrances, etc.) are wiped.

looks like you need to replace the roof and gut the interior. i'd be worried about weather damage on the inside w/ those broken windows all winter. need to check for mold and water damage. otherwise, there is some potential depending on how cheap u can buy it for.
|5 days 19 hours ago||that's actually not too bad||
that's actually not too bad considering most low wage jobs pay like $8.00 an hour:
40 hours x 50 weeks worked (on avg.) = 2000 hours
2000 hours x $8.00 an hour = $16,000
|5 days 19 hours ago||what do you think of the||
what do you think of the casinos impact in detroit?
on the one hand, it's additional tax revenue... on the other hand, it's mostly detroiters who go and waste all their money (so it's not even bringing in outside money).

|5 days 20 hours ago||They're going to restructure||
They're going to restructure most of that debt (which is mostly pension obligations anyway). On a going forward basis, they need to increase their tax base and reduce the tax rates.
The key is really jobs. When a kid graduates from UofM or MSU, they will ask themselves, where should I go for the best chance at getting a job? Most of them choose Chicago, some stay in Ann Arbor (or other Michigan suburbs) and others chase the coasts. How many of them say Detroit?
Those are the kids you want to fill up your demographic. Once they get married and have kids, they will buy houses, furniture, and eat out at restaurants... and their consumption fuels growth year after year.

Land and water are important, but so are jobs. Young kids flock to cities with jobs. Once Detroit gets more jobs, the demographics will improve naturally.

He's going to Penn... so my vote is to do the RA thing since you'll be living on campus. I'm assuming your parents would be living a bit further away and Philly isn't the best city for commuting (especially to West Philly).

Is it just me or do any of you cringe that young kids read this blog? Some of the language and graphics here are more than PG-13...

I say Harvard. You'll probably get more financial aid from there anyway so the cost should even out.
I went to Cornell and Michigan Law and I am very happy to have attended each of those schools, but at the end of the day, the value of your education is what you make out of it.
|1 week 5 days ago||In addition, another change||
In addition, another change that should be noted is that Brady Palante (grey-shirt) is now 3 stars (instead of "NR" - not rated).
This adds 40 points (for purposes of the Scout team ranking methodology) and, together with the cumulative effect of all changes on the date hereof, pushes our team ranking up to #2 (behind Texas A&M).
