Not to besmirch Rutgers, but there are material differences between the two institutions with respect to academics and post-grad employment opportunities.
In addition, Rutgers fans have a myopic view of Michigan (and are kind of annoying)... for example,
"Past success is no guarantee of future performance. Michigan is a relic that once got fat off the blue collar autoworkers kids. Those days are long gone. Michigan football should be a case study."
"Would you rather hang out after practice in Ann Arbor or New York City? Rather go to Hoboken or Detroit...rather go to the beach or a toxic dump of a lake. Great you have 100,000 in a stadium we have the largest media market in the free world. The best part is when you're done playing at Rutgers you have connections in a job market that is actually hiring and pays well."
"If one wants a family atmosphere, Jim Harbaugh is the least likely person to exude that vibe, unless one likes an arrogant short-tempered bully. But it is MI and that may be enough to convince him that it will really, really improve once he gets there. It won't."

Haha... It was a lot more one-sided until "mgoaggie" threw me a lifeline and upvoted me everywhere. Anyway, it was just kind of funny because I didn't even say anything opinionated or controversial... was just quoting TomVH, but it ended up being wrong...
|20 hours 31 min ago||As explanation, the comments||
As explanation, the comments sections of NJ.com are the most popular forum for Rutgers discussions (for example, the numerous comments reminding everyone that they beat Michigan this year, etc.). They don't have a large blog like MGoBlog that acts as a forum for their fan base. Therefore, this local newspaper's website is generally pro-Rutgers and is the main gathering place and source for Rutgers news, rumors and hype.

Lol. Is that a reference to my reliance on TomVH as my North Star in the Titus Booker - RB vs. CB thread? Haha. I can't believe TomVH switched it up on me and I got negged to death.

Looks like TomVH just updated now, but when I replied TomVH clearly just said "CB". Thanks for pointing out Tom's change.

Well, TomVH has clearly said he is being recruited as a CB and he's been right more often than not.
|22 hours 29 min ago||Well TomVH has been clear||
Well TomVH has been clear that he is being recruiting for the CB position so I choose to believe Tom. So quit negging me. Thanks.

No, because we're recruiting him as a CB. We are looking for 2 CB's so maybe it means that Arnette is not coming...

I thought we're looking at him as a CB.

When I had Jets season tickets (cancelled them a few years ago), Rex Ryan would leave voicemails for every season ticket holder thanking them for buying season tickets and asking them to come out for every game (I think they were taped, but it was still kind of surprising to get a voicemail from Rex).
In addition, I have Rutgers season tickets and they have student athletes call you and thank you for donating money to the Rutgers scholarship fund (which is similar to the Michigan PSD system). The girl who called me was on the field hockey team, but I think almost every student athlete participates so it's kind of cool if you get called by someone that you've heard of (and otherwise, it still has a nice feeling to it, because they sound pretty genuine and happy to be getting a full scholarship, etc.).

Some coach offers to give my son a paid-for college education at one of the best universities in the world... and I throw him out. Hmm... Seems a bit extreme.

You're a true Michigan fan if you believe you are. It doesn't take a degree to gain some type of credential to be a fan.

No doubt, just thought it was funny that 247 neglected to acknowledge that Jackson is no longer on the staff so the blurb about how he's going to keep recruiting for Harbaugh seemed to be a little off.

This is a "reoffer". He was previously offered by Hoke (Manning).
In addition, his former HC at PC is going to be an assistant coach at Rutgers.

I just took a look and it seems like you're talking about "Eric Lemaster"... The guy just tweeted at the kid and said that we can't keep getting 3 stars...
I'm sure that makes the kid feel welcome....
What's wrong w/ these ppl?
Dave Brandon said it best "Quit drinking and go to bed!" I don't care if it's only 1:00 pm.

His retweet of this Arkansas fan is ironic considering that Bielema is the prototypical meathead screamer. It would be funny to see what she says to some of the Bielema pics from his Wiscy days.

Not sure if that's true. There are no strict cut-offs. Admissions counselors (a) look at trends in grades (moving higher from frosh to senior year), (b) discount bad semesters for extenuating circumstances (e.g., parents went through divorce or other rough patch), (c) weigh certain schools and classes higher than others (also, 2.9 gpa out of what? and what percentage ranking is that in the class?), (d) look at extracurriculars (extra weight for great athletes, musicians, etc.), (e) legacy status and donation records, and (f) diversity (but on a softer level after the lawsuits of the past decade).
In addition, they typically report the 25% and 75% numbers, therefore, they do not report the very very low or very very high numbers.... and you would be surprised how low or how high those are.

Oklahoma is already done at CB/S (they have 5).
I've heard that it's down to Michigan and Arkansas.

Yea, you can easily spend more by drinking. Reminds me of a story I read recently where the waitress recommended a wine and said it was thirty-seven fifty. The guy thought it was $37.50, but it turned out to be a $3,750 dollar bottle of wine. LOL.

Nothing like a steak and scotch at a restaurant though. I like my steak rare. Bloody meat, scotch, America, f*** yeah.

Look, it's going to be a small class either way. We're trying to fill our key needs and we're only taking guys who are ready to win from day one. Either way, Coach will get who he needs and he'll have to work with who he has for the first year. I am hoping for a great record, but moreover, I just want to see a great competitive spirit in every game. One day at a time, we'll turn this around and then the doubters will come back into the fold as well.

Love Ruth's Chris. I also own a fair amount of stock too so I'm partial to it.
Chop House AA is pretty good. It has good ambience and every time I go back to AA to recruit we have our dinners over there. You can't go wrong with the place. They also have a good scotch selection.

Wasn't as bad as I imagined. He just wasn't prepared at all and seemed to be leery of trap questions. He's not a good speaker... sometimes says too much and sometimes says too little. In addition, he also had no chemistry with that interviewer, who was way too fast for him. They didn't click at all and the interviewer was trying to make him look like a dunce.
