And "SIAP Great article about Jabrill Peppers" clearly states that the article was related to a human interest aspect of the recruitment. Yes, sir, you make a valid point! |
| 3 weeks 1 day ago | The point is not redundancy |
The point is not redundancy spread across six months. Rather, I was only mentioning that this article was posted on this board at the time of the writing of said article (which seems logical...). Further, the re-poster did not do any search for said article whatsoever; in lieu thereof, he merely disclaimed "SIAP", which is, frankly, lazy. In fact, even utilizing minimum due diligence, i.e., typing in the prospect's name in the site search box, would have resulted in this article appearing on the first page of the search results. Therefore, I return the congratulations to you "Turd" and I can confidently say with 99.98% accuracy that your fake statistics are annoying to 108.75% of MGoBloggers and 926.84% of other visitors to this website. |

| 4 weeks 11 hours ago | So basically, you're saying |
So basically, you're saying that the current students are fair-weather fans who don't care about their football team since they're attending Michigan because of its relative prestige compared to the mediocre schools that they would have otherwise attended. You're also implying that attending a state university is somehow negative and you seem to believe that out-of-staters come from better states (or countries) than the state of Michigan (or the USA!). The only thing I can say is... too bad that you and your ilk didn't get into your first choice college so that you can root for your "exciting" football teams wherever that may be.... |
| 4 weeks 1 day ago | As a former MLaw student, I |
As a former MLaw student, I have to admit that law students are the worst fans. 1Ls are too busy studying; 2Ls are often in other cities for interviews (or catching up on reading) and 3Ls are just so "done with school" that they rarely partake in student activities (and are prone to arriving late and leaving early). That being said, as you alluded to, student tickets have a large amount of economic value since the tickets are highly subsidized (in addition, for key games, market value far exceeds face value). Therefore, I support GA because it gives the most economic value (i.e., better seats) to those who show up on time (which is behavior which we should all value). Further, by taking away from the seniors (or 3Ls) the opportunity to sell "great seats" (since student GA tickets will now have the same face value and market value), this change will effectively diminish the economic value for those who simply want to profit off ticket re-sales and have no interest in attending the games. |
| 4 weeks 1 day ago | I'm tired of students feeling |
I'm tired of students feeling entitled to great seats simply because they're seniors. Most of these no-show kids end up going to 1 or 2 games (coming late and leaving early) and then they sell the rest of their tickets for a profit. I think it's silly that the school subsidizes their tickets if they're not going to even use them and then sell them to some ND or OSU fan on craigslist. |

There are many MGoBloggers on the east coast so this is relevant for our community. That being said, if we land Jabrill Peppers today, I'm sure that thread and all of the muppet threads will push the OT threads to the bottom of the list! |

The kid I felt bad for is the guy (or one of the handful of guys) who got mis-identified as the terrorist. Apparently, this 17 year old kid, Salah Barhoun, showed up with his running gear and stuff in a gym bag at the marathon since he thought he could just sign-up and run on the day of. He ended up watching for a bit then leaving early and then all of a sudden his FB started to blow up with people blaming him for this. He also ended-up on the front cover of the NY Post with his face circled in red and ID'ed as the terrorist. http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/video/teen-marathon-bomber-18994666 |

| 6 weeks 5 days ago | Too bad for Pernetti. He |
Too bad for Pernetti. He seemed like a pretty good AD, but mishandled this issue because he probably didn't want to rock the boat on the cusp of entering the B1G. Based on accounts that I've read from Ray Rice and Eric LeGrand, Pernetti seemed like a family-oriented, team first type of guy. He made a big mistake by relying on the findings of the Roseland, NJ law firm that they hired as independent investigator... the optics of having an abusive basketball coach is just totally misaligned with the university's values. Instead of taking that common-sense view, it seems that Pernetti relied on the contract interpretation with respect to the Mike Rice situation. With respect to the President, Barchi, he likely won't and can't be fired because Rutgers is in the midst of a once-in-a-lifetime merger right now. Essentially, they are merging the best parts of Rutgers-Newark and Rutgers-Camden into their flagship school, Rutgers (New Brunswick). As an illustration, this would be like taking the assets of UofM-Dearborn and UofM-Flint and transferring them into the main campus, UofM-Ann Arbor. This transformation would give Rutgers (New Brunswick) a medical school (in connection w/ their asset swap with UMDNJ and Rowan), better graduate schools and it will let them push out their lower SAT and GPA students (via turning the Newark and Camden locations into satellite campuses and removing their metrics from Rutgers (NB) reporting). |

$125k annual salary is pretty good, especially if you live in Michigan or another low-cost state. Compare that to Bacari Alexander: BA's base salary = $155k Bonus for getting into NCAA tournament = $5k Additional Round Bonuses for BA = $1k for a Field of 64 win, $2k for a Field of 32 win, $3k for a "Sweet Sixteen" win $5k for an "Elite Eight" win $6k for a "Final Four" win $8k for a national championship |

| 7 weeks 6 days ago | I first got my tickets with |
I first got my tickets with about 10 points (2 seats in the corners). So it's not impossible to get tickets, but it is kind of impossible to get great tickets (i.e., 30, 40 or 50 yd sideline tickets at a decent row) plus the PSL's. |
| 7 weeks 6 days ago | The better seats were taken |
The better seats were taken up by higher priority point holders. There's also a limit to how many tickets you can buy so it's harder for ticket brokers to have the rights to a lot of tickets anyway. I think this year is a great schedule though (ND, Nebraska, OSU at home)! |

If you don't see the sign in button, then click on the tickets page and try to buy tickets (for example, baseball tickets are in season now). Then, there should be a sign-in button on the top right where you can log-in with your username and password. |

in sum, the story is: your wife is making mid six-figures, so therefore, you've decided to forego your salary since it was merely discretionary income. now, you're going to pursue a new venture (which is somewhat speculative, considering its a land-play in the leisure sector during the tail end of a recession). i'm happy for you if that's your dream, but i don't think that's what i would call "retired." the best retirement story that i heard was a friend of mine who was a portfolio manager at a fund. he was fired during the recession, but received a nice golden parachute (left w/ approx. 20 mil in savings at the age of 36). he met a girl, signed a pre-nup, got married, and the last i heard is that he's raising a family on the coast in the south of france. |
