the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

| 4 weeks 5 days ago | Three more to NBA, one other |
Three more to NBA, one other to random transfer is likely attrition. |
| 5 weeks 19 hours ago | no chance |
Do *not* get your hopes up. He is gone. |
| 5 weeks 1 day ago | baseline |
Expectations should be that all four guys leave. Hardaway seems like the only tweener as far as first round vs second round and he seems as likely as Burke to be gone (i.e. 95%+). McGary has the most variance because they'd be basing his draft on potential and five good tournament games but he and GR3 and Burke are all somewhere between the lottery and first round == gonezo. I would be (pleasantly) shocked if any of those four come back for another season. |

See you all in Atlanta! |
| 8 weeks 4 days ago | You mean like if the same |
You mean like if the same best group of a few teams from the SEC wins the National Championship every year? |
| 8 weeks 4 days ago | we on, but he gone |
Nothing we can do about it but enjoy the fact he came back for this year. He came back because of an early tournament exit last time, let's hope he gets his fill this year, then we can get excited about the D. Walton era. However, I would love to see THJr and GR3 back for another go. |
| 8 weeks 4 days ago | what if |
Would your expectations for this team be wildly different if a half court buzzer beater not gone in, a second half collapse hadn't occurred in Happy Valley, and a couple of free throws or layup made at the end of the regular season? The difference between a 26-7 and a 29-4 team is razor thin, but our expectaions of the latter would be final four or disappointment! Michigan is the highest rated 4 seed. Their KenPom efficiency sits at .9283 just a hair over 2011 UConn's .9270. They'll be playing "at home". With officials that might know how to call a foul. I don't know if I'll be laying the points vs SDSt, but I'm also pretty sure Trey Burke's last game as a Wolverine will not be this weekend. |

Last Year:
UM 29. AdjO 113.0(22) AdjD 95.1(60) [Other 4 seeds: 5,11,15]
Ohio 62. AdjO 105.2(99) AdjD 93.7(41) [Other 13 seeds: 66,67,104]
70.2% favorite
This Year:
UM 11. AdjO 120.6(2) AdjD 93.9(58) [Other 4 seeds: 13,16,30]
SDSt 102. AdjO 110.4(39) AdjD 103.1(209) [Other 13 seeds: 49,57,80,145]
86.6% favorite
Chance of victory increased 122% from last year's opening round!!!
Last year Michigan was worst 4 seed playing best 13 seed. This year they are the best 4 playing the worst 13 (Montana is a 14 bumped up due to travelling, switching with Valpo, LOL).
SDSt's defense is worse than Northwestern, I will be absolutely shocked (and lose a lot of money) if Michigan doesn't put up at least 80 points in the win. |
| 8 weeks 5 days ago | SDSt |
South Dakota has the #209 ranked defense. (For reference: Penn St #135, Nebraska #115, Northwestern #150). There will be no first round upset this year. Michigan struggles vs teams with Elite defenses such as Kansas, Georgetown, or Florida. This team has sweet-16 berth and no further written all over it. |
| 8 weeks 5 days ago | games today |
don't affect seeding, it's already been decided last night, #3 seed in auburn hills, book it |
| 8 weeks 6 days ago | yes |
I would be shocked if Wisconsin got a 3-seed with their 10 losses. The options to jump Michigan(7 losses) for the last 3-seed are: Syracuse (9 losses)

| 9 weeks 1 day ago | three days |
Play the entire tournament in three days Friday through Sunday. Friday all pods have first game at 10am, second game at 12:30pm, winners play that night in prime time 7pm. (Highest seed gets the extra 2 hours of rest) Winners jump on a plane to the regionals which play out the same way on Saturday. Play the Final Four on Sunday. Boom. MADNESS. |
| 9 weeks 2 days ago | bump that |
PSU is not shooting 50% from downtown again. Michigan takes care of business, wins by 20+ the way they should, 81-59. |
| 9 weeks 5 days ago | hmph |
In a hockey game, that's a penalty shot ten times out of ten. Yet in basketball, they can go to video replay and look at a guy getting taken down on a breakaway and not call it. Still doesn't cover all the warts and it just feels like a sad ending and waste of Burke's talent given we'll all be watching him play for some NBA team next year. |
| 9 weeks 5 days ago | I thought that too after the |
I thought that too after the Michigan game but actually KenPom considers Wisconsin to be a very "unlucky" team this year. Stupid Wisconsin. |

| 10 weeks 2 days ago | fuck buzzer beaters |
fuck buzzer beaters |
| 10 weeks 3 days ago | pretty sure he only did that |
pretty sure he only did that because stauskas was unable to return and it was a choice between Vogrich or Morgan/McGary at the same time and Morgan wound up fouling out and UM almost losing because of it. |
| 10 weeks 4 days ago | keep in mind |
The outcome of the BTT title game has no bearing on the actual seeding because it occurs after the selection committee has already made that decision. UM's chance at a 1-seed pretty much went out the window with PSU. Win one more game (@Purdue or first round BTT) and 3-seed is the floor. |
| 11 weeks 3 days ago | hmm |
Beat PSU & Purdue and a 2-seed is pretty much locked up. So we've got that going for us, which is nice. |
| 11 weeks 4 days ago | reframing |
Compared to how the basketball team has been for the past 15 years, with 4 games to go in the regular season this year's team's floor is now a 3-seed. That's pretty damn awesome. |
| 11 weeks 5 days ago | toss up |
Without Morgan's D, Michigan might lose this game. Zero offensive rebounds in the second half for Illinois and they had eight in the first. He was everywhere and yet never out of position on defense. He was the highest player +/- on either team by a wide margin (Morgan +18, Burke +5). Morgan's impact doesn't show up on the statsheet but he was just as important as Burke was today. |
| 11 weeks 5 days ago | morgan |
Michigan was +18 with him on the floor. Such a huge impact player on this team. If not for that stupid Wisconsin buzzer beater (do we have to endure buzzer beaters every game now it seems?) Michigan would be in prime position to run at the B1G title. Still, there are not many teams that will match up to Michigan in the NCAA prior to the sweet 16 and likely not until the Elite 8. |

| 11 weeks 5 days ago | yay! |
i'll take a few more of that defense+offense sequences please! |
| 11 weeks 5 days ago | this stinks |
looks like sleep-walking, just casually walking to the ball after they make a basket, totally uninterested |
| 11 weeks 5 days ago | Ball don't lie! |
Ball don't lie! Except for when the rebounding is retarded. Where's our home cooking? |
| 13 weeks 2 days ago | needs more |
Needs more vitriol for big ten conference schedulers giving michigan 4 games in 9 days against the top 4 teams (3 on the road) followed by a 15 day period that sees michigan play just 2 games total, both at home. I was wondering that about Izzo too being on the court next to the players in the middle of the action like wtf. Stauskas played well on offense on the road. He had that one play where he got a rebound, pump faked, got his man in the air and then got clobbered with no call. Hope this team responds well to adversity! |
| 13 weeks 3 days ago | my guesses |
Worry if... McGary = Foul Trouble. Cackle with knowing glee if.... MSU has more than 10 turnovers in the first half. Fear/Paranoia: 10 Desperate Need To Win Level: 9 Loss Will Cause Me To: Hate Ben Brust even more than I do now, demand KenPom adjust Michigan's "Luck" rating by more than two measly one-hundreths. Win Will Cause Me To: Wooo. No prediction because you know what happens when you try to not predict what KenPom predicts!! |
| 13 weeks 3 days ago | Morgan is shut down as of |
Morgan is shut down as of last week, it was way too much to think he could walk off that nasty sprain in just a week or two. Keep your fingers crossed he can be back in time for the *next* MSU game. |
