Maybe I missheard but I thought it was the other way around. Burke said they were in a zone but were afraid of Minnesota's shooters so asked to switch back to man and when they did, Minnesota made a run. I think he followed it up saying maybe they should have stayed in zone.
Overall it was a great interview for a true freshman and he seemed way too relaxed for someone who played all 45 minutes.
Ball Pressure-I think it is very important to consider how much pressure we put on the ball defensively. This would be very similar to the pressure metric in the UFR. Putting good pressure on the person with the ball makes it harder for him to make plays for anyone else. Tipped passes or hard pressure that leads to a steal could be pluses while allowing easy passes into the post or allowing good shooters to take easy shots would be minuses.
I don't think anyone has mentioned this but it seemed like Burke was able to penetrate the lane and dish to wide open shooters around the perimeter on multiple occasions. Main problem there is shooters not named Burke or Hardaway were 0-12 from 3pt.
When we shoot better he will be able to get more looks at open guys down low.
It seems a little weird to me that in their bowl predictions on Sunday, Rittenberg and Bennet picked Michigan to go the Fiesta bowl and Sparty the Outback Bowl but now they both choose Sparty to win. Seems like whoever wins this game is a favorite to win be a second BCS team.
