What is incredible about Corum's legacy - beyond the TDs, the huge plays, the 4th down catch out of the backfield against Bama, and leading the team to a National Chamionship - is the work ethic he lived and passed onto the underclassmen below him. For those of you on MGoBlog too young to remember - Sports Illustrated's 4/1/85 edition was host to the greatest April Fool's joke ever when covering the young pitching phenom for the Mets, Sidd Finch - who could throw the ball above 150 mph. Many people believed the story was real - or at least wanted it to be.

The Illini had one of the best NCAA teams ever in 1989. Kicked our asses twice badly during the postseason. And we broke their hearts w that Higgins putback.
Lou Henson never got over that.
I was at U-M when we beat them and Seton Hall. At Kellys Sports Bar. It was amazing

That DC choice is going to be a big one. A guy like Mike Elston would seem to have also earned his shot - remember, one reason he left the Domers was that they didn't give him a chance at DC. SM's choice here will be critical - I just hope he has has the financial support to go after an outside stud if that is what he wants to do. Freeman promoted Gerard Parker to OC last year because he didnt have the money for a big name - he was a disaster, in over his head, and lasted one year. Think we saw over the last 3 years the importance of great OC and DC.
Agreed that Sherrone is the right guy - however, we need to learn the lessons from (To Hell With) Notre Dame on how to do this right.
Lot of similarities between SM and Marcus Freeman - both young, little to no head coaching experience, bright minds, up and comers, awesome recruiters, players love them.
Where Notre Dame has made mistakes is not spending enough on the OC and DC, and their NIL infrastructure and strategy is not great. Appears Michigan and SM already have that in gear or plan to. But our OC and DC choices are going to be critical for success.
Also love that our player evaluation and development far exceeds those of the Domers. They get lots of 4 stars - but nowhere near the development of those hyped players. And nice that SM also makes sure there are 11 men on the field at all times v the Bucks - Freeman, not so much...
Gotta give Sherrone his shot - and give him all the money and support he needs to be successful.
Really wish that guy was a Michigan fan. He loved it when Michigan went for it on 4th down late against Alabama, and said he started rooting for the Wolverines after that gutsy call.

Like Harbaugh, I believe JJ is the best QB in the draft.
Hate when Caleb Williams backpedals and then throws weakly at times. He is a rich man's Joey Harrington. JJ will be a better pro.
