Rich Rodriguez knows more about football defense than most fans. He also knows more about the importance of recruiting and how to recruit offensive linemen. That doesn't mean he always makes the right decisions regarding each of these. Al Borges has lots of experience with playcalling, but is not in any way infallible with it; he even admitted as much to Heiko. |

The Washington Redskins are pretty racist. At least unless they change their team mascot into a potato... |

In the provided link, Brandon was very blunt in his opposition to putting Michigan and OSU in the same division because he wanted the opportunity to play OSU twice. He could have shaded that question like he shaded the last-game question, but chose not to. This, in conjunction with his suggestion that The Game can get moved back, leads me to conclude that he willfully hoped that The (regular-season) Game would get moved back, since there now is true motivation to move The Game back so as to prevent back-to-back games. But even assuming that this wasn't Brandon giving his honest opinion on The Game, then that suggests he acts more like a self-serving politician than a Michigan representative. Then the (weaker) transitive property becomes: 1. Dave Brandon acts like a politician. 2. Some people don't like the way politicians act. Therefore, 3. Some people don't like Dave Brandon. While people have to be more straw-grasping* to use the Politician label to not like Dave Brandon, it still doesn't require being a sheep of Brian. *Many politicians act like politicians out of necessity, given that they can't be in a position to do the right thing without kissing ass to certain special interests. Please don't engage me in a political discussion regarding how right/wrong I am on this. |

| 3 weeks 4 days ago | Dave Brandon was willing |
to sell out the date of The Game. Some Michigan fans want The Game to stay right where it is. Therefore, Some Michigan fans don't like Dave Brandon. The end. This rationale didn't even require one single sniff of Brian's jockstrap. |
| 5 weeks 2 days ago | Mostly worried about the offense. |
Despite Jake Ryan's injury, I have confidence that the defense will be similar to last year, which I would take in a heartbeat. However, Michigan is starting a whole new interior line, and all of its run-game production just graduated. Gardner looked excellent against Minnesota and Iowa but looked like a first-year starter against OSU and South Carolina (wish Brian would do those UFRs to gain a little more insight on those games). His receivers are very serviceable, though I wish we had more size on the outside that we can count on in the starting lineup (would like to see Funchess or Darboh break out more in their roles). Against this schedule, Michigan has 5 gimmes, 3 favored games, 2 coinflips, and 2 underdog games in my opinion. 9-3 seems to be reasonable until some question marks start to answer themselves. |

won't get up if you hit him just as he steps in to do his signature move. I hope that hypothetical Louisville acts the same way. |

I can get used to advertising in the stadium sooner than the clownification of the football jerseys. Neither of those options is best of all, though. |

| 11 weeks 3 days ago | Cautiously optimistic about Shop Class |
My main concerns are: 1) Dear Diary has done an excellent job of linking threads that are worth reading, and every past photoshop thread has been included (Seth feel free to tell me I'm wrong). If images start appearing on Twitter, it is assumed they will either be reposted into threads here (to then be linked by Dear Diary), picked up by BiSB in TWIT, or posted by Brian in UV. Compiling them into Shop Class may already be unnecessary unless this issue spurs MOAR PHOTOSHOPZ. In which case... 2) Quality may be lost from the quantity of recurring this issue. Sometimes images just beg to be photoshopped that produce downright brilliant results (see Taylor's Twosie, the phenomenon that is Lloyd Brady, Brian Photobomb, etc), and if this issue helps highlight more images like those I am 100% in support. I mainly hope that our collective standards of which images deserve to be photoshopped, MS Paint'd, captioned, meme'd or GIF'd don't lower just to create more content. Still, Chunkums and Blazefire still do great work, and I like highlighting it if it's as good as what's in this post. Should be interesting to see this issue going forward. |
| 12 weeks 2 days ago | On the plus side, |
you didn't give "Blockhams with Dicks" much to work with in this comic. On the minus side, they probably don't need to change it much. My preferred comic: show all the characters melting down, as in either turning from solid to liquid or leaking radioactive waste.* *Reactors that melt down have never leaked radioactive waste. |

...Michigan is now a football program whose assistants are good enough to get poached by schools like Oklahoma. Given that Hoke and Mattison are both Dline experts, losing Montgomery may be a blessing in disguise. |

| 15 weeks 4 days ago | Some food for thought: |
Would you be as supportive of Dave Brandon if the Michigan-OSU game was moved into October in 2011? Because Dave Brandon was in support of this move, and it took a biblical-style plague of Michigan and OSU fan protests before the motion was ended. So as a Michigan fan that feels very passionate about beating Ohio State each year, it's very hard for me to simply forget this idea that Dave Brandon worked to nearly kill the greatest rivalry in sports with very little benefit in return. Given Brian's passion for Michigan football, I imagine he agrees; therefore, it's hard to see Dave Brandon as the ideal leader of Michigan athletics. Dave Brandon has done some right things at Michigan (the renovations come to mind, though Bill Martin was the primary catalyst for Crisler renovations). However, continuing to hear the message he represents (we want to ensure we make a lot of money for Michigan and the Big Ten) does bring about a big disconnect between the Michigan athletic department and the long-time fan of Michigan football. |
| 15 weeks 5 days ago | I took exception to that line too. |
I disagree with the continuation that it was the renovations and first night game that brought Michigan into the 21st century, and I disagree with the implication that Michigan was a decade behind modern programs (like Ohio State, given that it's an OSU blog making the statement). Not to mention there are plenty of things I don't want Michigan to do even if it makes them more "modern", like redesign its uniforms, sell out advertising to the extent of OSU, or vacate wins in successful seasons due to NCAA violations. I did think it was a nice read, with some good insight from the man himself. |
