However, it is not the athletic department that funds the MMB's travels to Columbus and South Bend. The band is separate and has its own funding organization.
Well, it's not "new turf." It's recycled turf that was previously used in Michigan Stadium because the black asphalt was terrible for our knees and ankles... Go play in the road.
As a twirler in the band, I am pretty disappointed the MMB will not be traveling to Dallas to support our players. It will be my senior year and my last year with the MMB. However, I'm down to road trip down there and if someone wants to throw me down on the field, I will do an impromtu halftime show complete with fire batons.
