That's true but in order for…

That's true but in order for that to work we need to stay out of obvious passing situations. Easier said than done

This really sucks but after…

This really sucks but after thinking about it for a little while I don't think this is a death knell for our offense or for the receiver group. We have a plethora or TEs on the roster that are receiving threats and Nico & Oliver Martin have a year of apprenticeship under their belts.

However if we lose another receiver or TE to injury then it may be time to sound the alarms...

We could have an…

We could have an embarrassment of riches at both TE and WR this year. We just need Shea to get them the ball

There's plenty of blame to…

There's plenty of blame to go around for that game between Isaac and McKeon's fumbles to McDooms late drop to JOK's INTs. It's painful to remember.

I think

he's referring to Jason Spriggs and Dan Feeney who were both lowly rated OL who Frey developed into good players who got drafted.

That

is an excellent writeup. I feel like reading these every week is adding a new dimension to my fandom because whenever I occasionally see something live that's been pointed out here I get irrationally excited.

Wow

That would be somewhat of a shock

At least

At least Alabama is about to lose as well. It always makes me feel better to see Saban upset.

I thought

I thought the exact same thing. And WTF is with those mini commercials? Clearly fox doesn't think there are enough commercial breaks already.

I really hope

I really hope Brian does the UFR for this game because I'm very curious to see the breakdown of our defense on those drives

That's true

That's true but there's a very vocal section of this fanbase that has been complaining whenever that phrase has been used this season. If this game helps some of them come around then this offseason will be way more bearable.

I wish

I wish I could upvote this 1000 times

Yep

Those plays where the defense plays nearly perfectly but the QB can escape the pocket and scramble for positive yardage are extremely deflating.

In Theory

In theory yes, but in actuality their real loyalty lies with whoever donates substantial amounts of money to their campaign.

Good Point

That's a very good point. Even Alabama has trouble living up to their fans expectations and they're one of the greatest dynasties that modern college football has ever seen.

10 - 3 Michigan

10 - 3 Michigan

24-10 Michigan

24-10 Michigan

There was

a play exactly like that in the TCU-Minnesota game last night where the ball appeared to hit the ground on a diving catch by the TCU receiver. The entire TCU offense sprinted like 30 yards downfield and ran a QB dive before the officials were able to review it so apparently it does actually work sometimes

Totally agree

seems like Gideon or Ross should be getting some more snaps

1998?

1998?

Man it feels

really good to be rooting against an SEC team again

I am

I am so so ready for this season. Go Blue!

Interesting

I'm assuming you would be making this open source? If so would you mind posting a link to the repo when (if?) you start working on it? I'd be very interested to see the code/I'd be willing to help out the development effort if my skills fit what you're doing

His mom

Harris' mother was told by the coaches that they're only planning on taking one RB in this class per TomVH

I could

watch the aneurysm of leadership all day

serious question

who's available/would be a good fit?

woooooow

not cool

I'm curious

as to who ends up being liable, the waiter or the resturaunt?

POSBANG!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

He was

essentially a linebacker in HS. I'm assuming it's just taking a while for him to figure out coverages/secondary schemes. If he doesn't see the field next year then I think it may be time to start getting worried.

I'm so glad

Brian and Ace are on board with getting comment moderation back. I think that'll be huge for restoring the readability of the board (and for the mods' sanity)

I would be

Interested to see whether the experience/talent of the primary running back has any correlation with qb protection. My guess would be that a more experienced/talented back means the team hypothetically has a better running game and keeps the defense from teeing off on pass rushing. Regardless, this was a really interesting diary. Thanks for taking the time to analyze all this stuff

I believe

I believe that it's Chris Singletary

I think

I think some of that is Gardner not trusting his blocking. It seems like he expects to get hit every time he drops back and then starts moving around too early. Can't really say I blame him though

the saddest

part is the sheer number of puns we'll miss out on for the next 4 years

You

you clearly didn't go through Michigan's engineering program...

Just

wanted to say I really appreciate seeing an opposing viewpoint. It can kind of sound like an echo chamber around here, especially after a tough loss so it's good to hear a differing opinion

wasn't this already

Completely unrelated but

is your signature an actual Lloyd Carr quote?

Everyone

Everyone is (rightfully) talking about how Beilein is a great recruiter, but I think a lot of credit is also due to Bacari Alexander. He seems to connect very well with players/recruits

Awesome

Awesome work. Out of curiosity, where/how did you get this data?

The stated reason

is that they play in Mexico City tomrrow and they were trying to get the players accustomed to the altitude (I believe that the Azteca Stadium is actually about 1/2 mile higher than the altitude in Denver).

I don't think

we've been very consistent, but our high level of talent allows us to escape some situations where a less talented team (Minnesota, Illinois, etc.) wouldn't be able to

Agreed

Agreed.

Nice username

What about

the 2005 Penn State game?

It was pretty bad

Not every call went against us, but there were quite a lot of non-calls. Didn't help that Dakich was trolling M fans the entire game either by praising the officiating

The game

is in Honduras, hence the reason it's on Bein instead of ESPN.

Did you

just compare Aaron Craft to Michael Jordan?
