| 6 weeks 5 days ago | I already feel tonight's game in my chest.... |
the Michigan fans that frequent this site all share one thing. Passion. Tonight the Men's Basketball Team has a chance to change all of our lives. When you "live" Michigan as hard as most all of us do....tonight's game means EVERYTHING. I will be proud and represent win or loss....but a win would personally heal my soul from 92' 93' and football 06'. Those three lost championships have burned me to the core even before I realized the "gravity" as Jimmy would put it, of those moments. I went to FSU and played for the greatest coach that ever lived. Despite my love for my alma mater and passion for my teammates and football program...my love for Michigan never wavered and the intensity of which i have cheered for them has never diminished. Tonight for me..there is a chance to find some peace and justification for my obsession that has been Michigan. A win tonight can't cure cancer and won't fix our budget or stop violence in my native city of Detroit let alone the world....but it will make a massive positive difference in my life. I'm sure many of you share similar sentiment. I hope that our boys come with it tonight and play to the best of their abilities God willing. Your never DUE in sports and tonight will have to be earned. If we are able to capture this opportunity it will live in my heart as well as many of your hearts forever. Let's make history. Go blue. |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Fuck these cheating Refs. |
THis will be discussed at the B1G office on Monday. Horrific attempt to help Sparty. Absolutely disgusting officiatiing. Deplorable. |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Hell yes Burke. Floor Slaps. |
Thats energy and toughness! Thank you!! Bout Time! |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Hardaway is completey broken. We need him.... |
...if stauskas is going to be fragile.... |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Michigan is shooting atrociously. |
If they could make open jump shots they would be comfortably ahead. Dissapointing to see the team shoot the basketball this poorly on their home floor. And how in the hell do you not pick up the basketball and let appling dribble all the way down the floor for a layup?! That is aweful. Also, If Spike is going to play....he needs to do something. |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Preach. |
Plays like that are what is separating us from being B1G champs. Got to make the extra pass to your teammates. Especially after Caris just scored! |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Hardaway is in pieces right now. |
MSU is in his head. McGary is the man. I love that kid. |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Hardaway is a nightmare with the basketball in his hands. |
AN absolute Nightmare. Please find Burke and just run down the floor. Do not dribble anymore. |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Thank you Caris. |
THats what I'm talking about. Toughness. Great basket. |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Hardaway looks scared of MSU. |
Whats going on with that? Also....why is Stauskas out? I really hope that Belien urges this kid to grow up this season. He's an uber-talented shooter but I'm going to need him to toughen up physically and mentally. I swear this team is all Burke and McGary..... |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | So tired of watching our boys get "Out Manned" on the floor. |
Physicality needs to be a point of emphasis moving forward if we are to take the next step. I want a couple more bruisers infused into this team. We have a lot of non-contributors on our bench that I wouldn't neccessarily want to take to a fistfight. Good kids I'm sure but the lack of physicality comes out against teams like MSU and OSU and Indiana...heck even Wisconsin. It's not a coincidence that we lose to those teams. It can't be all about jump shots and alley-oops. I see McGary as the only physical force we have. Thats a problem. |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Burke is going to have to play out of his mind.... |
He doesn't have any help right now. If staukas is out for this game that will hurt badly. Hardaway needs to step up and he is playing like crap. We are looking like a one trick pony. |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Michigan is trying to do way to much. |
They are trying to make this an alley-oop contest. THis is causing breaks the other way and MSU is shooting lights out. THey need to cut some of the extra and just play ball. |
| 12 weeks 3 days ago | Just enjoy the ride. |
Our beloved basketball team is good. They're not a dominant force nor do they display the type of drive and hunger that makes me think they are championship caliber. I'm going to reserve judgement until after the B1G tourney is over. I suggest that everyone get off of the rollercoaster and realize that these KIDS simply do not have the mental toughness to do what we expect them to. THey aren't professionals. This Michigan team succumbs to hostile crowds and momentum swings and poor personnel decisions. THey are very mortal and will be in a dogfight in the tourney every game...no matter what seed they end up with. Belein is a good coach but he has definitely dropped the ball in several contests this year. This team needs to improve simple and plain. They are not good enough or disciplined right now to deserve a B1G championship or a #1 seed. Maybe they can get there in a few short weeks. They definitely arent there now. I won't be surprised to see them win or lose the rest of the way. They are a true wildcard squad. Love em to death but I have to say that my confidence in their ability to win a championship is shattered. The truth is....this team misses WINNERS like NOVAK and DOUGLASS. Those guys werent 5*s but theyre were winners......leaders and they gave a shit every game. It's time some leaders step up on this squad. Its time they stop looking at their draft status and focus. Belein has a big challenge ahead of him. Lets try to stay positive despite this epic letdown. This team can still beat anyone. |
| 12 weeks 3 days ago | Albreicht should not be on the floor. |
Belien is really not coaching well this game. This is a massive dissapointment. Turnovers are unacceptable and we are committing a ton of them. If I'm a Michigan opponent.....I simply apply ball pressure everywhere after watching this tape. If your up 15 you do not lose that type of lead against Penn State. |
| 13 weeks 6 days ago | Eddie George is a boss. Keiser will obviously give Green his #. |
No drama here. |
| 15 weeks 7 hours ago | True. |
Both seem to dissapear in tough environments. They are playing like freshmen so it is what it is. The youth of this team is starting to show now. |
| 15 weeks 7 hours ago | staukus has to play through contact |
...like everyone else. This team is very talented overall but I sense a physical weakness that teams are going to key on. We aren't a physically strong team and I think this will haunt us in the end. We should not lose to Wisconsin. They are not elite or even ranked. Bad loss. This makes EL trip a must win. Can't go 1-3 in your tough stretch of the season. This loss puts Michigan's back against the wall for the #1 seed....let's see how they react. |
| 15 weeks 3 days ago | Hardaway is shooting out of his mind. |
Can i get someone to stop Amir williams from dunking? anyone..... |
| 15 weeks 3 days ago | We look WEAK. |
Very dissapointed with our overall toughness. McGary is a man. The rest of the bigs need to man up IMO. |
| 15 weeks 4 days ago | great pickup. |
Urban is going to get dynamic skill players. Water is wet. We just need to continue the Manball approach and add some more skill next class. Our secondary is shaping up nicely in the future. Also linebacker play looks to be a strength as well. I just hope Von Bell goes to Tenn. He is a beast. Beat Ohio tonight! |
| 15 weeks 6 days ago | Tough loss. |
We have to play a little nastier and with a little more attitude on the road. Overall I think the boys competed well. Michigan was always going to lose games in the B1G. Indiana travels to Ann Arbor in a month. We will see what happens then. Beat Ohio. |
| 16 weeks 1 hour ago | Michigan has to shoot the ball well to win. |
Staukus needs to shake the jitters and hit some threes. Can't have another Ohio game. We need to get GR3 going as well. |
| 17 weeks 1 day ago | Green just has a Blue feel to him. |
There are certain times when you just have to trust your gut and read a kids body language and mannerisms. Green looks like a Michigan back to me. He carries himself like a Michigan man and just gives me the feel of a B1G back. He could shock us all and commit elsewhere but it would be against a metric ton of sense and conventional thinking. Logic and the past two months says he will be a Wolverine. That being said logic doesn't always prevail in college football recruiting. |
| 17 weeks 1 day ago | Great Work Man! |
I think if the cards fall right and we have our health.......this team could be a surprise force next year. Bully ball will be the recipe and Gallon is an electric playmaker that can change the game at any moment. I expect the defense to dominate next year as well. Wormley...strobel...Clark...Beyer...Black...Washington....Pipkins....Poggi....Ash....that's a solid group that I think can dominate the B1G. |
| 18 weeks 2 days ago | Love this team. |
After a tough loss on Sunday....We march into Gopher Land and completely out-class them on their home floor in a must-win for them. Impressive to say the least. I really expect us to run the table until the Indiana game. That game at Assembly Hall will be absolutely monstrous...but then again every game is huge in this conference. Great coaching job by Belien tonight and terrific performances by Spike Caris and McGary off of the bench. That type of bench production in a hostile road environment speaks volumes as to the ceiling of this club. Michigan could legitimately win another Big Ten title and ....gasp....a National Title. Haven't been able to say that since the early 90's and it feels great! |
| 18 weeks 4 days ago | Great Pickup! |
I like this Dawson kid a lot! 6 ft 2 corners !make me smile. Man ball on defense. Dawson had a ton of big schools looking at him....despite his lack of great offers. I think he is going to be a player. Get excited folks! |
| 18 weeks 5 days ago | Big Ten Ball....Man's Game.... |
Terrible start to the game and hats off to OHIO for taking it to us. They earned the win and deserve the spoils. Michigan made me very proud today by fighting back and coming within an inch from winning the damn game. That tells me that this team is never out of a game. There are no moral victories...but this game was a really tough out for us. This is B1G ball where it is extremely hard to win on the road against the upper half of this conference. Michigan will be in similar position @Indiana....@ Msu......@Minny.....@wisky....@ Illinois. I'd they can win the majority of those road games and hold serve at home with maybe only one loss....your looking at at approximately a 13-4 B1G record and a no.1 seed.....probably a B!G title pending on the Indiana results. Let's not fret. We lost to a damn good team that simply plays great ball in their building. This was a lesson to the freshman. Upperclassmen struggled from the floor as did Robinson....Staukus was invincible. Mcgary is a bright spot and if Hoford can get back healthy it will make a huge impact. If we beat Minny on Wed....this loss will not hurt us badly and we will string the rest of the games until the IU showdown. go blue! |
| 18 weeks 5 days ago | This is a big deal. |
However IF Michigan lands another elite corner in 2014 and picks up Mcdowell this will be an isolated incident. What cannot happen is Michigan being dragged into recruiting dogfights over local kids. We have to be able to grab the elite local talent and focus our logistics on the elite out of state talent. If OHIO makes us work overtime in our backyard that will be a major win for them and hurt us badly in recruiting overall. We still have to realize that we pull a lot of studs out of OHIO and it works both ways. Can't throw stones in a glass house. Nonetheless it stings to lose a cass tech stud. Urban is a sly S.O.B. but he is Damn good at this recruiting thing. Brady just has to turn up the effort a bit more and continue to win his battles. He has done a great job overall and I think Michigan is a major sleeper in the B1G next year. Stay positive folks. Webb won't break the 2014 class by himself! |
| 18 weeks 6 days ago | Statement Game. |
Beat Ohio. |
| 19 weeks 3 days ago | Lewan's departure will help recruiting. |
Nothing hits home to recruits like watching players from their prospective colleges get selected in the lottery on draft day. We have offensive line talent at Michigan. Lewan needs to get his money and represent us well in the league! Congratulations Taylor!! |
| 19 weeks 4 days ago | Recipe for Pasadena. |
1. Finish the recruiting cycle with 2/3 playmakers that are immediate impact guys. |
| 19 weeks 4 days ago | Better days ahead! |
This season stings a bit...but there are plenty of bright days ahead for the maize and blue. Recruiting is going great and the schedule is more manageable the next few years. We are in line to put together a nice run for multiple B1G titles and maybe more. Salute to the Seniors who helped turn this program around From the ashes. |
| 20 weeks 4 days ago | 8-5 |
That is not acceptable and shouldn't be. Michigan played tough but the bottom line is we underachieved and missed several opportunities to do something special this season. Next year will be the real barometer. No more excuses. Michigan has to beat somebody. We have simply beaten weaker comp to this point under Hoke save the Sugar bowl. We need serious upgrades in pass rushing...running back...corner back and wide reciever. We have a good team overall but we are not at the level that should be expected at Michigan. There is a reason why we have to blitz to bring pressure. Ironically the blitzing exposed our secondary today. The good news is that Michigan can make a HUGE jump nxt year pride is swallowed and adjustments are made! The BIG is going to be a two man race in the future and we have to out our selves into position to match Ohio athlete for athlete. Recruiting athletes is paramount for Michigan's future. Elite athletes will put Michigan over the top. Cannot afford to miss on ALL the elite athletes. |
| 24 weeks 6 hours ago | Go Navy! |
Putting the doggies in the place is an annual tradition! Semper Fidelis. |
| 25 weeks 2 days ago | We need receivers badly. |
Kid has great size. How does he project in comparison to Chesson and Darboh? We are really going to rely on slot types if these young big bodies don't show up to fall camp ready to show out. |
| 25 weeks 2 days ago | Man. |
This kid would become a diety in Ann Arbor......he has the type of elite athleticism that would absolutely flourish behind our future line. I think Green would be equally effective. I hope we can land one of these kids! |
| 25 weeks 2 days ago | Offense needs starpower. |
I'm really concerned with our struggles to land top flight offensive skill talent. While recruiting rankings don't always hit the potential of a kid on the nose....its still pretty important to land sure shot studs at the playmaking positions if were going to make a run at national prominence. I like the offensive.talent the last fee years but I'm still waiting for the program changer. I think we need to really focus on treadwell and green and show them whatever love (legally) we can. We can't act like we can do without them imo. |
| 50 weeks 6 days ago | Keep posting.... |
Your opinions and insight is appreciated by myself and many others. Don't worry about haters. If we are getting Poggi....it will be a wonderful Monday. Alabama won't have to fret for too long I'm sure. |
| 51 weeks 1 day ago | michigan and alabama dont have the same standards of tact. |
When Bama really wants a kid....strings get pulled. That's all I'm saying. Julio Jones committed to Fsu the night before signing day and low and behold an overnight phone call lol. Kuandjo is another example. Michigan does things right. Miss Mary and Singletary don't cut corners. I believe Bama will. All I'm saying. |
| 51 weeks 1 day ago | If Saban Really wants this kid.... |
...we are in trouble. Saban rarely loses kids that he really wants. We have a knack for finishing a close second for the big fish so to speak. Hopefully that trend won't continue. I think we should really go after Green as hard as possible. Green+Treadwell+ Hurst+ Poggi would be a great finish. |
| 51 weeks 2 days ago | ohio.....land of inbreds. |
Nothing surprises me with that joke of an institution. They are rotten and everything they do is dark and satanic. They dont deserve to be great in college football. We need to bury them on the field. This is why no matter how hard we try to emphasize Sparty....notre dame or Bama.....The Game will never take a back seat. |
| 52 weeks 3 hours ago | the kid is a beast. |
The star system doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme. It's all about the offer sheet. Offers like FSU...Alabama....USC...Texas....LSU usually mean that the recruit is legit! Michigan is about to put their name in that group in the next few years! |
| 1 year 6 days ago | didier drogba!!! |
What an assassin! Chelsea finally strokes their name upon the cup. What a statement for the EPL as a league. Chelsea knocks out Barcelona in Barcelona and then puts Bayern to the sword....in Munich for good measure. What Di Mateo has done the past few months is simply astonishing. The Blues! |
| 1 year 1 week ago | tom harmon is a legend...... |
That being said....there is zero swag in a #98 jersey for a running back. Recruits will have no idea who tom harmon is and won't identify with his heroism. |
| 1 year 1 week ago | Fsu has the best film school in the nation. |
Isaac will do great out in Cali. We are still missing that do it all workhorse rb. Maybe smith will prove to be more than a bull. I don't get a realistic vibe from Green. Isaac broke a lot of our hearts....but I think he is a good kid and USC is a really good school. Living out there is awesome. No blizzards in LA my friends. |
| 1 year 1 week ago | after garnett...diamond...levenberry and isaac.... |
I just can't put my heart into this recruitment. I hope he chooses us but I've been left at the alter too many times by "Michigan leans". We will just wait and see. |
| 1 year 1 week ago | too bad his father doesnt recognize game. |
Michigan is as quality an offer there is. Hurst will look great in a winged helmet and I love the student athlete we would potentially get out of him. Him Poggi....Treadwell and Green would make this class complete. Mathis, Fuller would be awesome aswell. Cravens is already holding two fingers up singing "fight on". It will be interesting to see if we can really land Green...or will get left at the alter again. His speed is elite. Great compliment to big Wyatt and Smith! Is there another longshot mystery recruit out there? Surely with so much time left in the cycle there will be a recruit that gives a look that isn't considering us now. I would like to see us try and go after anzalone. Ship has likely sailed though. |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | good for Caris! |
He is going to get a fantastic education and win some big10 titles! Welcome aboard! Anytime you can get a Mr. basketball you gotta smile! Not so concerned with "he fits our system"....he can straight up play! |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | lol |
Whatever bro. That's a weak counter and you know that you've made ill advised "evaluations" and if you continue to offend our recruits eventually its going to come to a head. I don't think you get the concept and are in this to sensationalize your opinion and evaluations. |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | Its not a matter of power. |
You work hard at your blog and its oft very informative and thorough. I just don't see the point in making statements about miss getting lost in o line depth when...its not true and offends a TOP recruit. That is counter productive. Pointing out flaws is fine but I'm simply making the point that you have to be mindful of todays internet culture and the fact that kids will read this stuff and DO get offended by it. You don't make rude comments about a girl your trying to date lol. The recruits have ALL the power. They make our program along with coaching. If their talent isn't superior.....we won't win big. We need to win big...so let's not piss of the recruits. |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | that is a good list. |
I think Chris will do good things wherever he lands. He was simply behind players with a higher "ceiling". I don't think he has the upside of a strobel or a wormley but that's just me. I hope he finds a place to make an impact. |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | Evidence is proven by |
Evidence is proven by multiple Michigan commits directly addressing this guy's blog statements. You don't want to wait until a kid decommits before you address the issue. This commit bashing needs to stop. Some of you don't understand the game if recruiting. These kids don't have to come here. Michigan hasn't won a title since 96. Michigan hasn't won the big ten in almost ten years. Stop acting like this is the only place kids can go win. The Michigan staff would not approve of these silly blog statements and while kids haven't decommitted because of these comments....the time is coming. Stop acting like we have to rip our own commits to shreds before they even play their senior year. Again....be excited top talent wants to play at Michigan....because they do not have to! |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | agreed. |
We just don't need Michigan blogs that are telling kids with Bama offers that he is going to get lost in the OL depth at Michigan.....because he just might go to Alabama. Plus some of these statements this guy makes are simply not true. Dawson is a beast and will play a ton of ball for Michigan. |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | not even hyped up...... |
Just providing the argument that these "blogs" are read by recruits and while likely not taken seriously...still provide negative energy that is counter productive to what this team is trying to accomplish. But hey....its America and people have the right to voice their opinions. |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | chris rock?? |
Okay I would have never imagined Chris rock being heavily recruited by Michigan. Please don't compare Chris Rock a hard working guy to Dawson who is a National talent. Stop bashing kids. Chris Rock is not a good example. Justin Turner would be a better example and rich rod stunk at developing defensive players and identifying kids who really wanted to be at Michigan. |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | staff evaluates character as well. |
Sure some kids might make bad decisions hut ultimately as coaches you recruit who you want. You implement your scheme with players you deem effective. If kids don't pan out its not because they suck at football a lot of the time. If they sucked they wouldn't be recruited. It's not a personal attack on Magnus. You guys can defend the blog all you want....fact is it pisses off recruits and that is counter productive. Fact. You can neg this all you want and flamebait and whatever else. Keep pissing off recruits. It will bite the University in the ass eventually. |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | Hopefully |
Our recruits won't read into your evaluations and "change" their opinions of Michigan and the fanbase. Not wise to bash kids before they sign. The staff would tell you that. You obviously don't care and are in this for different reasons. Just be excited that top talent wants to come to your school. |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | P.S. |
If you can block a damn d-end without pads on, you can sure as hell block him with pads on.....camps mean a lot for every position group. I would advise all recruits not to read to not read into evaluations outside of their own coaching staffs. Just a bunch of descriptive words that sound good coming out of the mouth. What is your professional background Magnus? Where do you coach at? Where did you play? |
| 1 year 2 weeks ago | stop pissing recruits off. |
Unless you are on Brady Hoke's staff....your evaluations, especially when negative, do more harm than good. These kids are recruited for a reason and will ALL pan out if the staff does their job. Just like athletes have to be careful what they "tweet" and "post", fans need to do the same. We already experienced this craps with tulley-tillman and now Dawson. When is it going to stop? Everybody is tryin g to be a goddamned Mel Kiper....smh |

He is a dynamic athlete and playmaker. This also gives him a chance to impress scouts at a likely NFL projection spot too. He should still be the backup qb. Bellomy has proven nothing yet. |

| 1 year 3 weeks ago | closing strong. |
It's too early to worry about how strong we close this class.....but with Poggi being courted by Bama....Massington....Cravens...and now Isaac heavily involved with Usc....Treadwell doesn't seem a lock to UofM and the rest are ?.......we are going to reach a point soon when the worry will kick in. I think its important that we not let off the pedal. If kids interest drift.....that's part of recruiting. However, we have a chance to pull in a national championship class IF we finish with the Poggis...Tteadwells and Isaacs of the recruiting world. Not concerned just yet....but this is sort of an into to the deja vu that was last year's recruiting cycle. |
| 1 year 3 weeks ago | this is pretty ridiculous. |
Chief osceola and Renegade don't need any sidekicks. I hope they don't really prance this thing around on gamedays. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | curious to see how the rest of the class shapes up. |
How many elite level talents are we looking at that are realistically considering Michigan? I feel that Isaac Treadwell...Poggi are all possibilities. Do we go after Hutchings...Kalambayi? Do we have a real shot with Vanderdoes...Massington? Can we really get excited about Fuller....Cravens or Mathis? I just hate to get left at the alter with these big time recruits....but that the risk you take in recruiting. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | that is a garbage comment and untrue. |
Fsu puts out Rhodes scholars and doesn't have near the off field problems as MSU psu uf Miami and many more. Don't make ignorant comments...esp since you don't know what your talking about. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | how is this trolling? |
I don't understand. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | depth has been an issue until now. |
Schedule works out nicely for FSU this year as well...save the traditional Thursday night trap game...this years edition being in Blacksburg. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | thia is going to be close. |
Between Fsu crim justice program and football potential....I could see him choosing the noles.....but I just have a feeling that this kid is a Michigan kid. There is a difference between the two. Florida state recruits a more cutthroat pure athlete. The program is more of a "get to the league" program than it is "caught up in the nostalgia and history" type program. I think EJ is more in tune with being a Michigan Man than he is joining the "athlete surplus" that is FSU. I love both schools but I really want to see EJ go blue. FsU does need linebackers badly and they will def propose serious playing time for Ej that Michigan might not be able to...at least within the first two years. We will know in 23 short hours. This would be a monster recruiting battle win for Hoke...because FSU has been arguably the hottest recruiting team the past 3 years and is a legitimate NC contender now and the near future. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | so.... |
If artest squared up Harden and then hit him that would be 10* worse....because that would involve clear defined INTENT to strike Harden and cause harm. I'm not saying the act was acceptable....but you cannot prove that he meant to elbow him in the face and an inadvertent elbow is face less egregious than a intended punch to ths face...let's be real. This wasn't Mchale on Rambis.....how many times has Dwight cracked people with elbows? Garnett? Rodman?? Cmon....people just love to hate Meta and play up every one of his offenses. He was wrong but damn.....he's not Al Queda. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | simply contradicting the knee jerk reactions... |
Meta will receive a multiple game suspension....and he deserves to be suspended. I disagree with everyone taking shots at him after a bad display of self control. He did not see harden. You cannot prove his intent to hit harden in the head. Harden did not deserve to be hit but made no attempt to redirect himself....in fact he drifted into Meta mid-celebration. There is a strong defense for Meta in that he can legitimately claim that he did not mean to hit Harden let alone hurt him. Meta is not a dirty player. I'm sick of people being irrational and kicking the man while he's down. The same fans of the Bad Boys are clowning Meta World Peace.....that's ridiculous. Also, I don't fault Meta for his initial reaction in the Palace. He should have restrained himself at about the 3rd row...but the fan that threw the beer deserved an economy sized ass whooping and I'm glad the two idiots who stepped to meta on the court after he returned from the stands got smashed. Meta takes all the blame for the Palace incident....truth is there was a ton of trashy fans in the Palace that acted like "thugs". What man do you know that will take a beer in the face and air there like a bitch? I don't know any that I would respect. Meta is a warrior in the form of sport. He was wrong....but that same aggression is what makes him attractive as an athlete and entertainer. It's only acceptable when contained yet the NBA and fans have marketed this characteristic of his advantageously for years. I don't think he was right...I just see the whole picture. Teach a bully breed to fight and show aggression. Reward it for physical dominance......then put it down when it lashes out past the confines of It's "controlled burn". It's way bigger than this one inadvertant elbow bro. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | MWP will get suspended. |
Then everyone will savor the moment. Everyone can use this as ammo to support their idea that MWP is a shit human being and a bank robber. I guess people didn't watch basketball until the 2000s. Thank you David Stern for destroying the NBA. |

| 1 year 4 weeks ago | um......pistons vs. bulls.....bulls vs. knicks.... |
The entire 1990s.....basketball has a history of being very physical. The physicality of hockey has always been sensationalized and overblown....it will never be football. Point is if MWP was wearing a Wings jersey he's a hero. Since he wears a Lakers jersey he's a thug. That's fact and that's crap. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | They are different sports.... |
However, there is no reason why it's acceptable that hockey players can fight and basketball players can't even talk trash to one another. MWP is a thug because he plays basketball and has a history of.....being aggresive? How is he different than Laimbeer or Rodman. Mchale or Bird? He isn't... he just fits the stereotype of what some consider a thug and thus he is labeled as such. It's corny. Basketball used to be every bit as physical as hockey...until Stern ruined the sport. |

If Artest is a "thug", then you would agree that Kevin Mchale....Bill Lambeer were also thugs. Or are they excused from the "thug" label for some mystic reason. I'm sick of this hockey fights are part of the game crap. Where in the rules is that annotated? It isn't anywhere in the rule book. Scraps used to be part of the NBA and now all of a sudden its blasphemy to get into someone's chest.....ridiculous. Stop being sheep people....society has sold you that aggression between black NBA players is "thuggery".....in hockey or baseball its just good clean hard-nosed competition. Give me a damn break. Was MWP wrong.....yes. A thug he is not...even though his skin pigmentation...place of birth and affinity for rap music places him squarely in the crosshairs of that coward stereotype. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | so your saying.... |
Mwp's elbow is more egregious due to the fact that harden wasn't expecting....that means that you believe that he meant to hit him in the face....which means that you think artest is so skilled of a combatant that he doesn't have to look at his opponent when dealing an elbow. Come on. Was he wrong ? Absolutely...will he get a multiple game suspension ....yes. Is he a thug....no. Does he have a criminal record? Not sure....did he go after a fan in the palace...yes....the pussy who threw the beer and hit him in the face watched like a girl as he trounced past him towards the innocent fan. Artest was made out to be the thug in that Detroit debaccle....the real thugs are the fans who think they can batter players and get away with it....or the fat pudgy non-athletic regards that think a Ben Wallace jersey gives them the right to come onto the court and throw up their sets and try and fight an NBA player.....I'm glad they got destroyed and despite what most on this board says...Artest is a good teammate and has rebuilt his image since that time. He faltered today and he will be punished for it. A thug he is not. Thugs commit crimes and go to jail....and also have clear defined INTENT behind their actions. I think its a damn joke that people will watch hockey and gloat over the brutal fights but then turn around and call MWP because he elbowed another player....that he wasn't even looking at. That's a joke. Society has trained American minds to be sheep and associate urban with thug.....so when a urban representative such as Queensbridge's own...MWP doesn't anything wrong....its thug. Why isn't it thug in baseball or hockey.....why when a pitcher throws at someone's head at 95 mph...its not considered thuggery.....mmmm. deep down we all know the answer to that...same reason why hockey fights aren't thug. When Jason Smith for the Hornets took Blake out of mid air as he was leaping for another dunk....he wasn't labeled thug.....hmmmm I think the prereqs for being a thug start with being associated with ghetto which is assumed by many to be the proper category for any black players who don't get their Karl Malone on. MWP is wrong and will be punished....all this name calling is out of place and for a state that once embraced the "Bad Boys"....its an absolute joke to judge MWP. Was Lambeer a thug too.....Kevin Mchale....Larry Bird....or do they not fit the prereqs? Gimme a break. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | 1. would that make serge a thug too?..... |
2. Artest would mash Ibaka. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | hypocritical if your a bad boy fan.... |
He didn't even see hardens face...but it was nasty nonetheless. The NBA is so soft now. 2 game suspension and call it a day. |

Miller looked good as did Thomas. Ohio is going to be short of receivers this year. Urban is preaching a young fun cutthroat brand of football that will be very attractive to top talent. Ohio is going to have solid linebacking and d line play. Notre dame looked pretty weak defensively. The qb carousel will likely continue and Kelly's face will be purple by mid September. Notre dame did look good at the rb position. Daniels looked legit and Eifert is simply a matchup nightmare. |

I did get in trouble for wearing Michigan garb in the lockeroom my junior year Lmao. I love the hell out of Fsu football just as much....but Michigan is my home and family to me. It's what I identify with from a cultural standpoint like all of you. I will always be a seminole and have pride in my alma mater....but you cant take the Wolverine out of me. Go noles and go blue! And yes Terrel Buckley still teases me about that game in the Big House in 91....Lmao. I hope that they never play again...I would wear all black. |

| 1 year 5 weeks ago | its odd i know!! |
Myself and family are all from Detroit area...born and raised...except for 7 years in sarasota Florida back and forth. Went to Salem high school in Canton for first two years. Family crap forced me to move to sarasota where I graduated. Earned a couple academic schollies but enlisted in the Marines prior to my senior year. Got out of corps in 06...played basketball for USF for a semester..(didn't make travel...basically practice player...no scholly)...transferred to FSU which was my co-dream school along with Michigan. Grew up worshipping both athletic programs....particluarly the Michigan football team in the Big House. My grandfather aunt and uncle have worked a combined 70 years directly for the University of Michigan. Uncle works for the athletic dept directly currently and gives me the honor of sharing his press box passes lol. Walked on to Fsu in 08 and played two years. Cracked two deep briefly but only saw game action as a special teamer. I got a chance to play for the greatest coach ever in coach Bowden and would have transferred to Michigan if it weren't for him. All my academic schollies outside of VJ bill were all Florida state school specific so that was also a major factor. I'm a Michigan man in my heart. Never attended the university unfortunately....but have the utmost respect. Thats a book and I'm def not that important. I'm on this board because Michigan and FSu sports are pretty much my life. |
| 1 year 5 weeks ago | former seminole db here.....but... |
Levenberry is going blue. He is a fit at Michigan all the way. He will do great things at Michigan. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Seminole uniform...but I feel like Michigan is the best fit for him....and this is coming from someone who played there. Also, FSU may not be Michigan Academically but Fsu does have some great programs of study and routinely churns out rhode scholars so...it is NOT a school for the blind. I don't think Jimbo is pressing for EJ....and I think Michigan will give this kid an opportunity unparalleled in college football. This will be a great coup to upstage Ohio's big recruiting weekend. Go noles and Go blue!! |

The next stop for Bosa was Columbus, Ohio, where he checked out UrbanMeyer's Buckeyes. "Everything (stood out)," Bosa said. "I loved it there." The tour concluded with a stop at Michigan. Bosa said it was tough coming off the heels of arguably his best visit yet but that one member of Brady Hoke's staff really madehim feel welcomed to Ann Arbor. "It was hard to top Ohio State after coming from there," Bosa said. "But Coach (Greg) Mattison is awesome." Entering the visits, Bosa had a top four of Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, and Wisconsin. At the conclusion of the visits, that list has been shaken up drastically. "I think it's going to come down to Ohio State and Michigan," Bosa said. Bosa now claims a current top four of Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, and Ohio State - in no order. He isn't quite prepared to take the next step and make his decision. "No decision date," Bosa said. "Probably summer." Bosa said he doesn't have any visit plans madeat this time. He |
| 1 year 5 weeks ago | you guys do realize that opposing staffs watch the spring games. |
Michigan is going to scale back everything and run basic sets. They aren't going to risk hurting Denard. Spring Games are simple dog and pony shows. I wouldn't put any emphasis on performances....save a few surprise improved players. You just want to get through this thing without injury and gaining more scrimmage experience. |

| 1 year 6 weeks ago | you make some valid points....but. |
I think you put too much emphasis on the value of douglass smot and novak. Novak was a junkyard dog and I will always admire him...but we are def stepping up in the talent dept. Talent is what wins championships. We aren't bringing in punks that are Michigan kids. Mcgary G Rob and stakaus are all good kids and more talented than their predecessors. Michigan won't be top 5 if Belien fails to coach them up. We have top talent coming in and not to mention Spike....there are no excuses. It's time. Beilein has been here long enough and this is going to be by far his most talented team. By far. Coach them up...stop relying on the three ball to the death. I don't want to not be able to plug in top talent because they don't fit the detailed schematics of the Beilein system. Adapt and win. Its what we should expect. Top talent is approaching Ann arbor ....we will see what Beilein does with it. No excuses. We will win the big ten next year and make a run in the tourney. Then comes Irvin and Walton and the rest and the train will keep moving. Go blue. |
| 1 year 6 weeks ago | i hope your right! |
That class would be downright legendary. I would expect a Naty Champ out of that group and multiple big ten titles. We would be on some early 2000s USC type shish if we put together that class after two solid classes under Hoke already. Hoke will turn his attention to 2014 class by the middle of this upcoming season and we will begin our regional monopoly...save a few to nd and Ohio. Sparty is the real loser here and that just makes me smile. |

Spike is being brought in because he is a player. I hope that is the reason. I don't think that we can afford to bring non elite pgs....unless we are content with being good not great. It's not fair to judge the kid because he isn't here yet. im going to assume he can do what trey can do or else we are wasting our time. |
| 1 year 7 weeks ago | good for Spike. |
What rose is there to say. Maybe he will come in and so work. Can't blame him for our previous pgs leaving us in bad spots. |
| 1 year 7 weeks ago | Maybe we will get De Valle.... |
Looks like we will need to scour the Ncaa for a point guard transfer. Sad that we can't get more than two years out of our good players. Burke is a great talent and I Wish him the best but this reminds me of Manny and Darius and both of them are D leaguers/ bench warmers.....both without degrees I believe. That's sad for them and UofM. Everybody loses. Why is there not a full court press on Zeigler Beilein????!!!!! |
| 1 year 7 weeks ago | i was hoping this wasnt real.... |
We need burke like Japan needs dentistry... |
| 1 year 7 weeks ago | this just sucks. |
Burke is not ready and we have no other pg on the roster. How does this always happen to Beilein? Harris.....morris....now burke. I see a trend here. Kids can't wait to leave UofM and I don't understand why. |
| 1 year 7 weeks ago | where are the facts that the 2012 kentucky team is dirty? |
Until those facts are presented we as a non-involved party are just throwing unneccessary and unwaranted barbs. We sound bitter and the truth is we have the resources and ability to put the same type of team on the floor if we change a few things and tweak our personnel. |
| 1 year 7 weeks ago | nothing in that post was opposite the truth or inappropriate.... |
Somehow its still trolling lol. Good job Kentucky. People fear what they don't understand...hate what they can't conquer.....simple theory of man. |
| 1 year 7 weeks ago | not cool. |
Don't salt their achievement because if we win a championship in a few years then people will start hating on us in the same fashion. Kentucky is simply on another level than us. Doesn't mean that they are dirty......we def can't talk about basketball dirt...... |
| 1 year 7 weeks ago | Testament to Elite Talent. |
Elite Talent wins titles. You must have elite athletes great coaching to win this tournament. There are a lot of good teams in the Ncaa but very few elite. It will be interesting to see if we can get to that elite level status in the coming years. Ohio seems to be the only team in the last few years from our region with the horses to ride on the big stages. We have to be much less "system" dependant to make it to the final four. I think this next crwlass will be a step in that direction. |
| 1 year 7 weeks ago | Amadeo will be a great addition. |
He has court vision and looks physically mature. These televised games breed selfish play. I really feel good about this kid and him learning under burke for a year. I think he will wind up being a stud and an upgrade from brundridge. I hope Beilien can get him. Add him to Mcgary Staukas and G rob and that's a fab four! |

There is no way 5 star talent sits next year. We need this talent infusion coming in too much to start Smotrycz and vogrich. Both of those players will be better served coming off the bench. |
| 1 year 9 weeks ago | next year. |
We have some talent coming in next year that will make us more competitve. We lacked the players this season. Hats off to a gutty group. Ohio is more tourney ready than we are. We have work to do but we have some great tools to work with next season. Go blue. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | fab five. |
I will never stop hurting from those losses to Duke and Carolina. That pain will never go away. Michael Talley never stepped up and admitted that he was SCREAMING for Webb to call the timeout. I will never feel more for a player than I did for Webber in that moment. King said it the best...."the gravity of that moment....just crushed him.". Great documentary and solid perspective on both sides. The Fab Five was the most exploited team in college history. If webber did take the money...I truly believe that it was after his sophmore season pre-draft. Has there ever been big man in college more NBA ready than webber outside of shaq?! What a monster. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | 02-06 |

| 1 year 10 weeks ago | not about getting ahead. |
We were embarrased by Ohio this afternoon. That is what its about. How to not get throttled by our rival again. I simply gave a brief bio out of this blogs assumption that I was some ymca Saturday league athlete that was speaking from the soles of my sneakers.... |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | i suffered through the sanctions with you. |
However I cannot curse Webber and Bullock and act like they didn't play their asses off for us. They took money from a booster. Ed Martin....he is the goddamn villain. They made a mistake out of ignorance. Manny....Peedi...Blanchard....Dion......Morris were all elite talents. Michigan Basketball is a monster that knows no limitations. The only limitations we have as a program are those put on our selves through the recruitment of "system" players. Its basketball suicide. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | agreed and noted. |
I often struggle with sensitivity and blame the Marine Corps for my expectation levels. My delivery has been harsh and is not fair to call out individual players on our teams. I love Michigan and pour my heart for our kids every game as do many of you. I will work on my delivery and tone down the negativity. Losing to Ohio brings out the worst in me. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | droid auto text... |
I guess USF isn't a powerhouse in basketball...but they are quality. Florida state and Bobby Bowden is who I played for on the gridiron. Doesn't really mean much besides no one on this blog can sit here and tell me I'm wrong for having an opinion contrary to theirs. I competed at high levels and have a solid knowledge base of what it takes to win in both basketball and football. I don't shit on your opinions yet you wish to outcast mine. Ann arbor is not as liberal as it once was I see. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | first of all... |
Tommy Amaker put a lot of talent through this program....second of all I think that Michigan tradition has been established well before and after the fab five. I simply feel that every contender needs to be balanced. We are not balanced. Some games come down to winning a bar fight. We need more brawlers or...we need to toughen our group up. We have done well this season. I think that Belein has done well this year. The foundation of todays success in Michigan basketball was forged by manny and deshawn as much as novak and douglass. You can't take offense and take my opinion personal but its just that an opinion. My last post was nuetral and exploratory....yet you still come at me with Take a Walk...this has obviously struck the same nerve in you that I felt watching my team get punched in the mouth this afternoon willingly and without resistance. The fab five didn't cause any mess....the fab five made Michigan basketball international and the university pimped webber and company for MILLIOns along with Nike. Ed Martin ruined Michigan basketball. Stop blaming kids for what grown men are coercing them to do. I just don't see any Traylors....Taylors....Bastons....Webbers...Howards...Sims anymore and that is the reason we are weak in the paint. You need athletes and bigs in the game of basketball. That is all I'm saying. We don't have a couple key elements that we need to be elite. I think next season will be different. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | Ty Isaac |
This kid could really flourish under coach Jackson and this mammoth o line he will run behind. Mix that running attack with Sugar Shane and a few electric wideouts....lights out. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | Basketball gurus. |
What are you thoughts for next season's starting five and bench rotation? Since we apparently have what it takes as is evidenced by our regular season title...how do we avoid being embarrased by elite teams moving forward? I feel we need to get much tougher in the paint for starters. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | okay.... |
so do you think we played hard nosed competitve basketball this afternoon? That was a soft display and a scared display in my opinion. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | Here comes the Ban.... |
All I have done is provide a harshly truthful perspective. I see it angered the regulars. Don't compare the Fab Five to any basketball team either because they wee trendsetters and revolutionized the game. Some of you were the angry alums writing the letters complaining about their brash urban approach, I'm sure. To each their own. Also, grammar natzis.....some of these posts are done on phones with auto text.....so kill all the intelligence insults. It's really tough to have a perfect basketball roster and I completely understand that....help is on the way. It still pains me to see our team get tossed around like rag dolls and completely get waxed by their rival on a nuetral floor. Maybe some of us on this blog have scaled back expectations. I do not. Michigan is capable of top 10 basketball. That is the bar the has been set by these seniors. We have dead weight on this team and I hope that we can fix our holes in the next few years. You guys can miss me with the x and o talk and the who knows what and who is a coach potato. It doesn't really matter. I know basketball as many of you do. I'm as maize and blue as anyone on this blog. I'm just not blinded to the point of oblivion. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | you guys are funny. |
Internet tough guys. Attack me all you wish it doesn't change the facts. I do like Belein and am proud of what they accomplished. There are still areas for vast improvement. You guys are looking for pure homerism here. Have fun with that. I played college basketball and college football and have coached football. My family has logged over 70 years working for the university of Michigan....and 10 directly for the athletic dept. I know what I'm talking about. You just might not care for my opinion. Internet suggestions of drinking magic Johnson's blood is classless and 11W material. Those who have competed at high levels of athletics should understand my concerns. Hail. |

| 1 year 10 weeks ago | Michigan Basketball has a certain tradition. |
Toughness....tenacity...competitveness. didn't see any of that today. Let's hope that we can get squared away before the tournament. Been a fan since birth and followed this team in an unwavering fashion for nearly 30 years....I'm also not afraid to point out our obvious faults. We need more toughness and scorers....less system and finesse. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | trolling....lmao |
I see objectivity is out of the question. We play a weak soft brand of basketball that could be likened to catholic church league. This team is dependant upon the play of Trey Burke to a fault. We have missed on several of Beleins prototype system players in Smotrycz vogrich mclimans. Douglass and Novak ARE average shooters. This team needs athletes. Hopefully Mcgary and Robinson will help us next year. I'm tired of watching Vogrich get his layups pinned against the glass.... |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | catholic league rears its ugly head again... |
Recruit men from now on Belein. No more shooting pfs and limited offensive guards. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | we need to change our mentality . |
This Indiana pure shooter thing is not okay with me. I'm tired of watching these Michigan "bigs" play like little boys and jack up 3s. Get an inside game and okay like a damn man....Smotrycz Mcliman are both too weak for power positions and not skilled enough to play the wing. There are other players that should have been recruited in their place. I understand that they are good guys....but this isn't march of dimes. We need players. Last time I checked....the state of Michigan has outstanding basketball players....not sure why we playing around in states like Indiana and recruiting these weak ass power forwards. I'm tired of watching MSU and Ohio have grown men on their teams while we are running with frail soft players. I'm from the fab five era and this physical make up of the current Michigan team bothers me. We have all these "dead eye" shooters that shoot average %s. Ohio shoots the 3 better than us and they are men in the paint. Belein has got to recruit tougher players and get some Individual talent on this roster. Trey Burke is not enough.....unless we are content with sharing titles. Recruit Detroit please....to hell with this soft catholic school league ideology. |

We need to balance our team better from here out. The dead eye shooter concept is too iffy because they usually don't shoot the ball well. We are a poor free throw team and really weak inside. Hard to watch. We have overachieved this year. |

His recruiting mentality is top notch. Get in early on top talent and sell Michigan. Michigan is building and national champion in front of our eyes. The talent influx into Ann Arbor is staggering. No doubt that we start fast next cycle too. We must beat Sparty and Ohio this year to keep the momentum.....Notre Dame too. |
| 1 year 11 weeks ago | disagree. |
Michigan is not Kentucky. We need to win the B1G tourney to be kings of our region. We are not a nationally elite team yet. Elite means top 5-7 realistic Nat champ tier. |

Brady Hoke just simply gets it. Early bird gets the worm and let Michigan sell itself. Michigan is a juggernaut and has awaken from the 3 year hibernation that was the richrod era. Point guard of a big ten title team.....that's an easy question. Zeller is solid but burke is a stud. |
| 1 year 11 weeks ago | hate to see that. |
God bless him to a speedy recovery. He will be a stud for Sparty soon. |
| 1 year 11 weeks ago | basketball. |
We won the conference in basketball and beat Sparty. We failed in both of those missions in football and allowed Sparty to physically batter is in the process. |
| 1 year 11 weeks ago | I like McCray's versatility. |
That being said .....no reason not to take all 4. Dorian can play his own hybrid safety backer position and McCray might eventually have bus hand in the dirt. All of them are super talents and shouldn't be passed on. |

I walked on at FLorida State University and played corner and safety. Got as high as #2 on depth chart....then came 5 star recruits lol. Started on special teams at the end of my senior year...also bobby bowdens last year. Grew up in the Detroit area as well as sarasota Florida about half and half....fell in love with Michigan at birth...played for the noles due to my love for Fsu and Florida state academic scholarships. Family works with the UofM athletic department and UofM hospital. Grandfather worked for the University of Michigan for 50 years. I have had the pleasure to meet many of the staff/ players...particularly the Florida kids. Denard is the man..... Also have had the pleasure of season tickets in the press box where I have befriended Deerdorf, Mrs. Schembechler and other awesome Michigan football figures. Thought about transferring to Michigan to play my junior year but I couldn't leave Bobby. He is the greatest coach in college history and one hell of a man. Go noles. Go blue. |

They don't deserve to dance because they have a shotty basketball roster....this isn't March of Dimes its March madness....and these kitties belong in the NIT. |

Droid phone in a patrol car at 0330 is not a good mixture... |

They have to try and conjure up some chalk board material based off of recruit chatter....cmon. Don't be mad because Michigan has a new found swagger .....be mad that your glory decade is over and marred with scandal....far beyond what you've been punished with...seeing as how your in bed with the Ncaa. Michigan is recruiting players with a Passion for the maize and blue and I damn love the bell out of it. If theses comments hurt their feelings maybe they need to get thicker skin. ***k Ohio....we all feel that way.....so why is it an issue when the men that will be facing the red devils from the south come out and say it?! This is petty and I stand behind our boys. The days when we don't have kids confident enough to come out and say these things are the days we just finished suffering through....the days where Ohio was looked at like a juggernaut....Ohio is and has always been a Regional power. Don't feed their ego. Lebron left for a reason....your university is classless and willing to sell their soul for a victory. Your an institution of cheaters and you simply will never ever be on the same plain as THE university of Michigan. Thanks and the 100 of Michigan fans that are lucky enough to get seats in your disgusting Horseshoe for the Game next (due to your attempts to maximize homefield with crooked visitor seating allotments....shady bastards..) will witness another victory over your scandal stained program. Goodnight and Go blue.....oh yeah....beat Sparty for once this Sunday too....stop pretending to be a basketball power and live up to expectations for once. |
