Can’t find it - what is it…

Can’t find it - what is it on?

I really like his inside rip…

I really like his inside rip. Seems like you could add some counter moves to his basic 2 and make this dude deadly. I like his attitude, the angles he likes to slash into the backfield, and the way he finishes plays. He’s also got a tomahawk chop that will create turnovers. Fantastic pick up, Go Blue!

Make no mistake about it…

Make no mistake about it. The difference between an ok class and an unbelievable one is how this team wins this year. If we kick a bunch of ass this year the top tier guys will flock more easily. Until then we’ll have to scrape and claw for all the best people we can. That being said, I really like how this coaching staff evaluates players. They are building something special. Go Blue!!

Can't wait!!

The lack of spring game this year left a giant hole in our offseason, and this one feels extra long. There are so many things to look forward to this next year. The Defense is going to be nasty, and I wonder if Gary/Winovich might put up some stats that rival past DE duos in UM history. Bush and Hudson are going to wreak havok all over the field, and we have some really reliable talent at the back end as well.

I know we have a ton of Q's about the Offense, but I think the most important stat from last year was passing TD. This year we will have 9 passing TD's by the 5th game. I'm really excited about the stable of QB's, and I think whoever wins the job will be poised for success.

... Michael Kiwanuka is soulful and really good. Medeski Martin and Wood “Shackman” - great road trip album. I like APC but their new album is pretty bad. Thirteenth Step is good from start to finish. Ween Chocolate and Cheese is crazy and wonderful (and a bit offensive). The Soft Bulletin by flaming lips is also a good jam
I'm also watching... I always liked Jed. I've got KState in my bet pool, so I'm hoping they find their footing here.
Thank you Listening to him just piss all over our program, our coaches and our players was just awful. He was the most negative sports commentator I've ever listened to
Signing Day!!

As time goes on, we are realizing more and more that a different type of athlete is filling the Michigan roster. Our lines are back to pushing people around. Gone are the days of 30 for 30. Our defense is among the very best in the nation every year. We have Freshman that not only start but show that they are the best player on our team immediately. I trust this coaching staff way more than the recruiting services, and I know they are gettting players that fit the schemes and plans that this staff likes to use. Count me as a part of the excited, and not among those crying that the sky is falling because journalists think that these kids aren't as good. I'll side with the people getting paid millions to coach, thank you very much. Go Blue!

I loved it!

I believe that many of you have built this movie series up to the point that it couldn't ever live up to your delusional expectations. Please remember that Episodes 1-3 were awful, and that they almost deystroyed one of the best movie series in our lifetime. They have successfully gotten this back on the rails, and are now kicking out entertaining movies that my kids can enjoy with me. I can't wait to see it again, and I was really happy to see it with a movie theatre full of people who loved it as much as I did. You can take your Bah Humbug and have fun hating some of the best sci fi you will see in your lifetime.

Ok All the "Peters is just not good" people can suck my balls. Lots of people defending Harbaugh for keeping him on the bench, and it was obvious to everyone at the spring game this year who our best quarterback is by far. Obvious
How about Ambry as Wildcat QB? Seriously they need to put Peters in or McCaffrey or somebody because this is ridiculous
hilarious

Any of you that follow "Game of Jones" will join me in laughing any time she appears in my life. She is damn funny yo

Jinx...

I need some help from my brother from another mother Stevie Wonder..... "...when you believe in things you don't understand then you suffer. Superstition 'ain't the way..." You can stop turning your hat sideways, leaving the room for big plays, switching seats in the living room, or whatever else that has no effect on reality. This type of thinking puts your importance in the universe well above where it really is. Sorry, but I don't belive in jinxes, or any of that other crap. Go Blue

Love this thread

Since we beat this team by almost 50 points they have played really well, sparked by a sloppy win in bad weather over OSU. However, I don't buy them. They still have an awful offensive line that our DLine will just maul. They still have a defense that is porous, and not one that their team can depend on to win games. We will only let Barkley go off 1 or 2 times this game, and McSorley will be forced to arm punt over and over. I have thought since last year that PSU is a paper tiger, and we will smash them by 50 again. After that, the narrative will be that Michigan is starting to get right on offense. We will be a scary team when we get just a little better on offense.

I'm thinking we need big changes in OC and playcalling

There were a ton of things that you can point to Saturday that just didn't work. The most glaring thing to me was how awful the playcalling was, and really it's been the same all year. The addition of Pep Hamilton has brought the shotgun 5 wide in as a staple of the offense now, and with adding Frey we have both gap and zone schemes. They added all this to the existing offense and now they have a gigantic playbook that's probably even harder to master than the last two years. This isn't new info, but I just think we are jack of all trades and master of none. Football is an amazing sport that gets overcomplicated often by coaches.

The glaring difference with Fisch here and without him is stark. In the last two years, I was really impressed with how our offense had plays every game that baffled the opposing team. We would take a tendancy and use it against our opponent. One example of that this year was the sweep pitch that turned out to be a pitch/dive much like Les Miles used to run at LSU. How many more plays like that have we ran this year? We used to get these on teams a few times every single game.

I think the best solution is to throw out several things that they have tried to add this year that have not worked, and simplify the offense. Just pick one kind of blocking scheme and get good at it. Remove the fade throws that are such a low percentage play. Bring back WR screens, and any other play from the last two years that worked. Maybe Jed is gone, but we can still use any of his plays. I have to admit that I'm also a Colts fan, and that Pep was really bad as a playcaller in Indy. I was really nervous that we brought him in, and some of his bad tendencies are on display in Ann Arbor. I know that Harbaugh, Pep, and many other coaches all handle the playcalling together. It's the missing coach that has to be a big reason the game plans are so bad this year.

Copperpot

Carlos - check out Copperpotnation.com - we have a couple clips from live stuff there. It's an acoustic band, and a huge change of pace for a guy who has been in heavy original bands most of his life. I'm actually making enough money to pay for all my Michigan tickets every year in addition to whatever gear I'm craving at that moment. It's weird not to have music cost me much more than I make for once in my life.

2011

Morgan Trent and Stevie Brown were on the 2011 Colts Roster. I still have a Colts Mike Hart jersey that weeps at the opportunity lost by a freak knee injury. It is really unbelievable when you look at how quickly Harbaugh as built the culture, training, and level of play at Michigan. Anyone who doubts him just isn't paying any attention

The trick

is to not even mention the bye week and go about your business. If she's like my wife, she is a casual fan who really doesn't know exactly what is going on (even though I have a calendar on the fridge). My cover band is playing a Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser in Indianapolis on Saturday, so this was a perfect weekend to schedule a daytime gig. It's a beer tasting, and my biggest challenge is how to fit all our gear in an UberXL so we can drink after we play lol.

This is an obvious answer to me

O'Korn was better in every way possible. The offense calmed down and just went right down the field. We instantly went from a 10% redzone offense to a 100% redzone offense. The people claiming that the coaches were just calling better plays for O'Korn are a bit off IMO. The same plays look much different when the QB is getting the ball out of his hands quick enough to take advantage of the cuts from the WRs. There is no compairison in my mind, and if Speight starts against MSU we will go back to having trouble on offense. I don't care how he looked last year or even vs. Florida. To me, the most important thing is we finally started clicking on offense. With Speight we are a 8-9 win team. With O'Korn we could really do something special this year. I will always support my team and their players, but watching Speight this year has been awful and John was a bright light in an otherwise dark place.

Tailgaters!! My tailgate menu is featuring Allegro Steak on a Stick and Chocolate Balsamic Red Onion Lollipops. If you want to join us just email me [email protected] and if you're bringing lots of people please also bring some extra meat/beer! Go Blue!!! All are welcome - we're about a ten minute walk from the stadium and we leave in 3 hours to drive there...
So psyched for this Saturday!!! This will be my 30th year of going to the Big House! (Not consecutively) I can't wait to see the starters shine for a couple quarters, and then all the backups.
Cool map!! I have always dug interesting maps... google "42 maps" and "hank green" next time you're bored
Way to be optimistic tiger! I love how people refer to their pre-season predictions like they mean shit. Nobody cares what you divined from tea leaves, Nostradamus. Oh, and by the way I have us down for an undefeated championship this year. See? You don't care either.

1st rule of Mgoblog is DON"T FEED THE TROLLS

I'm sorry to be harsh, but you guys have totally failed in this thread. It took three pages of crap to finally get some good discussion going here when the asshole troll finally stopped posting for a sec. If we ignore trolls, then the discussion moves on and he has no effect. If you keep feeding the troll, then this shit where we have 5 pages of crap ensues. Where are the mods?? is this acceptable in their eyes? How many down votes constitute a trip to Bolivia? Please, my fellow posters, IGNORE THE TROLLS and just keep the discussion going as if they don't exist.

Sweet!!

I really appreciate all you guys do. I know nothing about the details of this transition, but whatever you guys decide to do that will make this experience better is awesome. I am also a crazy addict, but I'm mostly on the app on my phone. Because posting has been a challenge, I have been a lurker for quite some time. I'm really looking forward to the time when I can interact on my phone easily again. This season is almost here, and I just can't wait for the goosebumps... Go Blue!!

Hilarious Fauxmo you just won the internet today.
Great Topic! Most embarrassing was high school football, Junior year. I was MLB and we played against this kid Donald Winston who was a badass RB. (He went to Purdue and they made him a WR who never did anything). His 1st two carries in the game were TD's from like 60 and 70 yards. The next time I got out on defense They ran play action and I was gonna just light this dude up. Now, he was about 5'6" and had won the state high jump, had accolades is several sports, but I was 6' 225lbs and lived for big hits. I sized him up and gave it all I had and this little guy hit me so hard I saw two of him wobbling out in either direction. The worst was watching it over and over on the coaches tape on Sunday with the team. Hardest hit of my life I ever received by far. Best moment was when my highchool spent the weekend at Culver Military academy to play them. My girlfriend at the time went there and I was soooo pumped for it. The starting RB got hurt in the 1st QTR so I played starting RB along with MLB and had a crazy game. 13 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 TD's running and over 100 yards. I found out later my girl was sick and missed it. Was still awesome though - we were not a great team that year but we won by over 50 that day.
Tool Your comments make it obvious that you don't read Maynard's lyrics. It's ok, not all people like football either. Some people just miss out on the better things life has to offer
We roll! One reason - Nussmeier. He will run/run/pass all day predictably like he does and our young D will tee off on these guys. Our offense will have success running with Evans and I think Black shows the world that he's the new WR to watch out for in the B1G. I am worried a bit about Speight and how bad he is vs good defenses... I hope Peters takes the job away before game 7 so we can start his growth and development. His ceiling is miles above anyone else at QB we have. Don't forget having Pep Hamilton also means we'll be a better passing team this year. He is really good at scheming to get guys open in the secondary
This is always a highlight of the off season I have to wait until the hard copy comes - not the same on a screen
Nice!! Wonder if he'll play the 2 or run the point?
Speight. I'm sorry but he was just terrible today. I was at the game and saw a ton of positive things from many other positions. However, he held onto the ball too long, throwing off his back foot, throwing multiple balls right to defenders, not anticipating the unblocked blitzes on overload, etc. I know this is a small sample size but if he plays like that in this season we will lose by 50 points. I would rather have Peters, O'Korn or McCaffery than him at this point. I hope he got drunk last night or something. I can't think of anything he did that was impressive the whole game, and I figured he would only play a little today. We got a whole game tape worth of how not to do it today from him.
I'll bite... 1. Kareem Walker runs over three people for a TD
2. Kaleke gets 4 TFL's
3. DPJ is the TRUTH
I'm confident that however I'm confident that however our class fills up, it will be badass. If we only got our Early Enrollees I would still be psyched. We have got some guys who will contribute right away, just like last year. DPJ is the one I'm most excited about. Go Blue!!

Fantastic post and thread. I Fantastic post and thread. I watched that whole Wash game again and didn't remember Michigan getting hooked up by the refs twice at the end. Thank God that didn't happen the other way around.

Cristal Balls are the dumbest Cristal Balls are the dumbest thing EVER. They mean nothing, and are just another thing for fans to talk about, read about and discuss. This kid is going to Bama. We need to focus on players who aren't all about Alabama. We just aren't back to the top yet, and won't get all the best guys until we are. We still have an awesome class and there are many good recruits we should be spending time on besides him IMO

I'm more optimistic than I'm more optimistic than most. Before Harbaugh arrived this defense was ok but not very good. These guys got forged into fine weaponry and I can't wait for some of Harbaugh's handpicked PIMPS to go through this same process. When Jim's guys are Juniors/Seniors we will be a fully operational battle system. Add Don Brown and it's just not fair. We will solve problems with aggression and I don't think we take a step back. This team will be young and hungry. We will crush our enemies and hear the lamentation of their women.

Crazy that they think this Crazy that they think this pointless ending to a game nobody cares about is better than showing a D1 BBall game

Calling all Mgobloggers.... Calling all Mgobloggers....
when does the date of the Spring Game get announced?!? My wife is trying to pull some shenanigans and plan another trip around the same time. This is the first year my daughters are old enough to go to the Big House and I need to put a stake in the ground ASAP! Pls help my brethren!

Ty Isaac feels like the Ty Isaac feels like the newest "guy who does little at Michigan and goes on to start in the NFL" to me. I hope I'm wrong, and I would start Evans if given the chance next year. It just feels like he's been in the doghouse for whatever reason.

Especially after seeing Jake Especially after seeing Jake Butt tear an ACL... I feel so bad for Jake. He's a tenacious guy, and I'm sure he'll make it in the NFL. The problem is his draft stock will fall. What a shame. The bright light is al the young studs waiting in the wings to bring 2017 into full swing. Let's finish this recruiting class and have a badass spring!

We smash Francois into tiny We smash Francois into tiny bits. Cook is contained apart from a few big plays. Michigan rolls 35-7

** He was reaching way down deep to come up with something productive for his team
I know everyone thinks I know everyone thinks Florida just didn't "want" to play, but I disagree. These kids live and breathe football. We just destroyed them with an uncanny focus. Harbaugh is a really good coach who can really pinpoint a deadly game plan with weeks to prepare. Get ready to watch that play out again Friday night as we obliterate this team. Sorry, bad OLine vs our DLine is just going to make it a long, long day for Cook and company.

I can't wait to unleash a powerful recruiting tool in Florida. We're gonna thump FSU and Florida within 8 months and get our Florida pipeline to grow even stronger. And to start next year people can't use the excuse of a team just not being into the game.
I loved RO!!! I have already I loved RO!!! I have already seen it twice, and it's in my top 3 of all the SW movies. If you are a pretend critic who just wants to shit on movies to make yourself seem important you won't like it at all. This movie makes Ep 4 seem so much more important to me. It paints the rebels in a much much more realistic light, and I really like how it weaves into the plot line. I laughed reading the total douche comment above that complains about The Death Star being in this movie. That's like complaining about there being a shark in Jaws. Interesting point about CG characters, and whether actors could be used less and less as this technology improves. I hope not, but it's definitely a possibility.

Couldn't disagree more Jabrahms Spoken like someone who has not witnessed how good Harbaugh is at talent evaluation. Remember that these recruiting services are not coaches, and while they have all the time in the world to evaluate these guys they aren't really amazing or someone would be paying them on a D1 staff. I know all the data about 4/5 star players vs others, and in general it's better to have more higher rated prospects. There is no doubt in my mind that Harbaugh is better at this than anyone at any recruiting service. The guys we're getting are monsters, and will be developed and taught better than any other team in the nation. We are still just at the beginning of this journey, and still ahead of schedule. Think about three years ago, and then remind yourself about your disappointment that we missed the playoffs this year. If you see this class through Harbaugh's glasses, he's getting most of the guys he wants that will best fit his system and modus operandi. Not only is this class the highest rated in a long time, they are who HE thinks will work best and that's what is most important. Stop worrying and just enjoy the ride my pessimistic brethren. Michigan is back
