She was looking at houses in Saline. It doesn't matter where my parents live, other than the fact that it's close to the University, IMO.

I have been on this blog for 5 years and never started a rumor. I thought it was cool that I actually recieved some insider info. Next time I won't tell you fuckers.

Please do a little research on the godfather of the NFL draft and have some respect for an all time great NFL executive. Secondly, if he was contacted to gauge interest and Cutt said no thanks, that's pretty much turning them down. Nothing crazy or groundbreaking here...

Against the 2-3 zone is horrid. They just stand around and wonder why they can't get open shots.

There are moments in my life where I feel like I'm living in an alternate universe, and this is one of them.I realize that Navarre has several Michigan records for a QB, and that our team was miles ahead of where our program is today. Having said that, I couldn't stand watching him just stand tall in the pocket and get smashed over and over again. He was the least mobile QB in the history of football, and it's odd to me that you are on the other end of the spectrum. To each his own, I guess...

Pro Style - This offense is the most complicated to run for a college team, but translates immediately into the pros. This will get well trained QB's into the NFL more often even if their talent isn't really amazing (See MSU). They really focus on matchups, using formational changes to get an advantage. Lane Kiffin does a good job of this with Cooper.
Air Raid - This offense works really well for small schools that need an advantage to even the playing field. One problem is that this offense is nothing like the NFL, and successful QB's in this system have yet to be able to translate it at the next level. This system is almost like the passing version of the flexbone in that it tries to negate the advantage that your opposition has on the line.
Read Option - I would call this offense "Spread to Run." Rich Rodriguez invented this really cool innovation in offense and it has spread all over the nation like wildfire. It also allows smaller teams to compete with behemoth lines as they spread you out and gash you with misdirection. When combined with bubble screens and play action, this offense is hard to stop. When a defense does figure it out, it is a nightmare however because the up-tempo creates a long game for your defense.
Flexbone: The triple option has been around for decades, and it really forces you to be more "gap sound" than any other running attack. They will test you up the middle, off tackle and on the edge. As mentioned above, the lineman cut block the defensive line in an attempt to speed past them before they get up off the ground. This offense also gets really hard to stop when the QB/OC is really good mixing up misdirection.
While I agree with the OP that the most important thing is the talent of the coach himself, I really hope we don't go back to a spread. It took Rich Rod about 3-4 years to assemble the different type of player that suits that system. Brady has been slowly overhauling our roster to go back the other direction. Swinging back again could take another 3-4 years, and that just seems awful to me. I would like to see a power running coach that has a good track record of success take over the helm. I know this is not a popular desire around these parts, but it is the past of least resistance IMO.

Why do you guys think Les will just give up his badass job at LSU and come to our rescue? What has he said that would give you that impression? I still think that Florida hiring McElwain (sp?) is really telling. He is their best choice, which means our best choice is probably one below that. Bielema was mentioned above as a bad idea, but I beg to differ. His main problem with Wisconsin was that his assistants couldn't get paid and they kept leaving for more lucrative jobs. We can guarentee his assistants get paid enough (see Nuss), and I would take him in a heartbeat. He runs the offense I grew up watching, and I know that this website is GOO GOO over the spread but I really like the smashmouth approach. The huge difference is that Brett has been successfull with it on a team with way less to work with than he'll have here.

Just keep refreshing expecting to see a "Hoke fired" thread? Please, please don't drag this out like you did before Michigan. We can save this recruiting class still

I beg to differ. The end of the season was really good for Taco, and I think his ceiling is higher. This dude came in stacked and athletic, and he's gonna beef up even more this off-season. Valuable big-game experience will bode well for his future.

If we can beat decent teams when our stars aren't on fire, this year's gonna be another fun ride. Loved hearing all the Michigan fans in Brooklyn!

I mean, who knows which team shows up this weekend? I'm hoping that DG's one big mistake is minimal, and that Funchess catches the ball. I hope Taco shines in FC's absence, and DeVeon finds holes. This is our chance for a bowl, most likely.

What a long article to express very few thoughts. I like SW and I understand his intent to be clear/overly clear about the facts surrounding these events. This article was just a word dump that felt like it would never end. The "echo chamber" to which he refers is not something that can be stopped; it's called the internet. This had CYA written all over it IMO.

Of you, like me, just laughed when the Derp snap hit Funchess in motion? I'm to the point where even awful things just make me laugh. I feel like I'm stuck in some kind of insane asylum. Then northwestern missed the field goal and it got even more funny. Please fire this staff soon, my soul is whithering from shame.

I really appreciate you posting your thoughts here. This is one of the things that makes this blog amazing -that we actually have former and current players blogging on the site. Go blue, and I can't wait to see how the season ends!! Mr Smith, do you think Johnson should get the start this week? IMO Drake showed some burst that we haven't seen all year.

How this took a national spin! This blog just keeps getting better and hopefully our team can start to follow suit!

So you're saying we are to blame for the actions of DB the DBag? We wanted this?? Show me where Michigan fans wanted the home experience to be more corporate. This twist of logic is absurd and I really think you're taking a piss, mate.

Believe that Brandon hasn't come out publicly and denied his horrible emails. You would think he would at least lie about it, instead he just says he doesn't read blogs. Wow. Just wow. The douchebaggery is unprecedented.
|7 weeks 4 days ago||I don't agree with most of these...||
We will not win another game. We will be forced to watch Devin turn the ball over repeatedly as we drop all the rest of our games. We cannot score with IU. Their running back is better than anyone on our offense by far. NW is on super revenge mode, Maryland will be happy to kick us while we're down and OSU will take us to the woodshed. The faster we get another staff in place the quicker they can save our recruiting year and start teaching new schemes. Our staff is dead in the water.

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!!!
|8 weeks 4 days ago||I am also questioning the overall talent of our team (clip NSFW)||
From the very first game this season, I walked away from the Big House saying, "We're just not that good." I know that our players recieved stars from people who don't coach to support the whole supposition that our team is really talented, but I just don't agree. I think we have a few guys on either side of the ball who are really B1G Div 1 starters, and the rest are just not very good. It kind of reminds me of when Florida scrapped their scouting department and relied solely on Rivals and other recruting sites for who was the best prospects. They have never recovered from that, and I wonder if we fell in a similar trap. The classes look top 5-10 on paper, but these recruiting services are NOT COACHES. They really don't know what the hell they are talking about.
I think we get crushed like La Cucaracha. 35-6 MSU
|8 weeks 5 days ago||I like the idea||
Honestly, I am sick of hearing about Harbaughs, Miles, and other "options" that delusional people think we have. I want a head coach that has an impressive track record and shown the ability to dominate his competition over a long time span. This guy fits all that, and I actually just researched him a bit. These are the CC posts that I like, because it sparks new discussion that is grounded in more reality than stealing good football coaches from better jobs in College or the Pros.
