Both are big time

Both are big time contributors to the team and both starters. I believe Meyer said Stoneburner has a chance to be All-American this year after he gets done with him.

Both players have been

Both players have been suspended indefinitely.

I dont know how much I'd read

I dont know how much I'd read into this. The sentence actually says Ohio State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, and Clemson would all be hard to say no to.

Just saw a mock draft that

Just saw a mock draft that has Burke going to the Denver Nuggets in the second round. It's just a mock so its going to change about fifty times but if he could land on a team like Denver I think he could actually contribute and stick around the league. It's all about the fit, and I think he could make a career in the league with a team like Denver.

You should really be happy

You should really be happy that he has the opportunity to go to the NBA and not have any negative feelings toward him at all because of our own selfish feelings.  Consider it a treat that we had him for one year at all because he could be at Penn State and that shitty team would be appreciating what he has done for their program.  I have also heard that he was told he is a first round pick, and while I dont think it is a lock you have to remember that point guards are usually taken a little ahead of where they are projected.  He is going to get drafted and maybe a certain team will give him a first round promise.  In reality there have been rumblings for a few days that he has already attained an agent and is going to the league, it is not a question of if but when.  Wish him well like the other schools are doing to their early entries.  I really hope nobody who was kissing his ass all year is bashing him because he has a chance to better his life.

Don't kill the messenger but

Don't kill the messenger but the word around c-bus is that Trey has already attained an agent and has withdrew from classes. Could be false but if he's really not taking classes then there's the answer. This is also what they have been reporting on 11warriors for a couple days now, although I am not sure how reliable that site is?

Last I had heard is that he

Last I had heard is that he was really leaning towards Tennessee. I know he saw the writing on the wall and came away disappointed at Ohio's junior day when they did not offer him because he grew up wanting to play there (his father did play there as well). I can really see him growing into a defensive end, he has a lot of room to grow.

Marcus is a stud.

This kid Marcus will not sit the bench and should be a 4 star recruit without a doubt.  I have seen a lot of film at the LB position and this kids is one of the most impressive this year.  I had heard about this kid from a friend who is a gator fan and was blown away when I watched the film.  This kid is a beast and I would take him over any LB in Ohio's class.  I would take him over any LB in our class also with the exception of Bolden and still would probably rather have this kid.  He reminds me of a young Clay Matthews but I think he just arrived on the scene a little late and some of the bigger programs didnt get in it with him until late.  This kid plays in beast mode and I think is on a different level from a few of their other LB commits.

Yes, the NCAA has already

Yes, the NCAA has already obtained all of the information that ESPN is seeking from tOSU. I know that the e-mails between Tressel and Cicero can be read online and that they definitely went through all e-mails pertaining to any players, staff, and others involved like Sarniak and Digeronimo. The NCAA had all of this information that ESPN is seeking before they rendered their punishment to the school . NCAA investigators have moved out of Columbus and no further punishment will be handed down to the school. ESPN is just seeking this information for obvious reasons and their interest lies more in the business of creating and maintaining scandal and keeping certain matters like this relevant. They are killing two birds with one stone and at the same time attempting to de-value the Big Ten by destroying the reputation of one of it's most significant members. Had ESPN owned the Big Ten broadcasting rights, there would be no lawsuit right now because ESPN would not want to lessen the value of their own product. Maybe someone can answer this because I do not know but is there something inFERPA that gives ESPN access to athletes e-mails or are they trying to separate the e-mails from all of the other prohibitations in FERPA and say that because these are just e-mails. Are they admitting that they know that some e-mails will be from student to professor but some might not be and they believe they have the right to access those e-mails not related specifically to academics? If this is the case then I do not think the school should give up the students privacy solely for the purpose of helping ESPN sell papers. If the school does give up students information, can the students then take legal action against the school for doing so?

Tressel lied and obstructed

Tressel lied and obstructed an investigation - that is fact, fact, fact. And while Gene Smith might one day end up on a coors light commercial for his legendary press conference's, I don't think it is fair to say he stonewalled and obstructed the investigation. Smith gave the NCAA full access to anything they had, and cooperated 100% with them from day one while they moved their cots into their campus compliance department. To their credit they self reported everything they knew but the players and tressel had already left one hell of a trail through town. There's usually certain people who lose their jobs soon after something like this happens, and he will be no different and be gone soon regardless of what Gee says but I would expect any AD in this position to use what friends they have in the NCAA to help him keep his job and lessen any sanction toward the school. Even though many of the lawyers who handle these cases said that precedent shows that no bowl ban should be given and this is partially why Smith did what he did, you had to expect the NCAA to give some kind of ban with all the pressure on the NCAA from everyone not named Ohio. Outside of Tressel, Gene Smith did what he was supposed to, he just really can't put on a successful presser to save his life. I am a big ten fan and what Ohio got was what it is, but I am tired about not hearing much about other schools outside the conference and expect schools like South Carolina to get hit too for taking $55,000 in improper benefits such as hotels and cruises, and playing four football players who were ineligible in 2009. I heard more about extra practice time than I did SC.

On an earlier thread before

On an earlier thread before the season started, people were knocking the song because they blast it in the horseshoe fifty times a game like it's their unofficial anthem?? Now people want it, i cant keep up with all this? I don't care either way, they could have dueling flutes and I wouldn't mind.

I'm watching this game as

I'm watching this game as well. Goldman finally showed up towards the end of the first half and Washington has been the best player on the field. Sofas he has one sack, one forced fumble and 9 tackles with one tfl. He has been running people down all over the field and is honestly better than I thought, he is making some of the higher rated de's look not as good. Tafts line is so small Goldman shouldn't have too much trouble but Washington is getting gameplanned around by a much bigger line including blocked by a massive goldman. I had never seen Washington play but he is now at the very top of my wish list, the announcer is loving on him big time. As for Stanford he had the one nice catch but most balls are being underthrown in double or triple coverage so u can't really get a good idea of just how good he is. They just kind of throw it up and let him jump all for it. From what I've seen, Washington is special and playing like he should be ranked higher than he is.

I see notre dame is

I see notre dame is over-hyped as usual early in the season.  You would think that after seeing their performance for the past however many years, voters would finally catch on, but its the same reach as usual.  I cannot remember the last time they were as good as their ranking (seriously, i really can't).

money is in football broadcasting rights

While Duke and UNC would be nice for only basketball rights, the big bucks are in football broadcasting rights.  A lot of the basketball big money is tied to the NCAA tourney and outside of the money now there is not a huge amount to be made in terms of basketball.  I am without a doubt one of those people who want Notre Dame and Texas in the conference but I am skeptical that they will make the move anytime soon, and while i am satisfied with our conference now i will humor myself:

(1) Virginia Tech - not AAU but great academics, believe they would be willing to make the move, and think they're strength on the football field would fit in quite nice in the big ten - adding a school who in any given year could play in a bcs game.

(2) Oklahoma - though not an AAU school and wanted badly by the SEC, i believe their tradition and style of play fit perfectly in the Big Ten.  Would bring a solid team with good fans and excellent tradition.

(3) Ga Tech or Mizzouri - would be mainly for broadcasting rights in two huge markets but i dont think they add the tradition and power we like seeing in the big ten.  Geourgia may be a little too much out of the region but if they are looking to expand markets this would be big.  Mizzou would take the offer in a second and would love to join the big ten.

(4) Texas/Notre dame - both would be great additions to the conference in every aspect, but is iffy that they will go/stay independant or make moves.  If the conferences go the way of super conferences than Notre Dame would probably join a conference or if they get low-balled in negotiations for their next TV broadcasting and realize that they could make more money by joining a conference since they are not the powerhouse they used to be, then maybe they join.

My dream four would obviously be Texas, Va. Tech, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame - I believe this would be a true super-conference that could compete with the SEC. While many believe Mizzouri is likely to be one of the few chosen if the conference does expand i believe it would be solely for broadcasting in the Kansas city/St. Louis market which is quite large in terms of broadcasting numbers - i do not believe they add anything to our conference.  Their football is somewhat average, as is basketball and i believe they would be a lower tier team in the big team that could not contribute in terms of tradition or being a powerhouse like Nebraska does.  As soon as Texas realizes that their conference is going to break unless they add lackluster football schools like UTEP, they should split rather than waiting a bit longer for the inevitable to happen.

Im not sure of rules or

Im not sure of rules or violations but I believe he has been a father figure in Pryors life since junior high and even went on a lot of college visits and saw the facilities and academic offerings of these schools with him while Pryor was getting recruited out of high school. Doesn't sound too shady, a friend of mine had the same situation since 9th grade and they took visits to schools together before he ended up playing ball at tiffin.

From what I've read cardale

From what I've read cardale will redshirt once he gets to campus to put two years between him and miller. I think that with the fact that miller was hurt a lot in high school should be reason enough for him to stay.

Not sure if this will be

Not sure if this will be successful but can they argue that this will jeopardize any future employment? I know the NFL really looks at character issues and can end up affecting their draft position, thus messing with the amount of money they are due to make. If a player is linked to drugs I would think his draft position is in jeopardy? I am absolutely not a lawyer but this is the only thing I can think of them pursuing action for?

im not sure we can say he

im not sure we can say he threw clarett under the bus, i think he did that to himself with his bigger than king kong attitude.  He would violate even some of the most minor locker room rules like no food in training room because his ego was so big he thought te rules did not apply to him.  He publicly stated that he should be playing linebacker when he is not at running back and started this frenzy about how he should be allowed to go to the NFL earlier than everybody.  All this was before he started doing armed robberies across from high street.  When you violate a lot of the rules like he did after his freshman season and then start robbing people in alleys with a gun, or get pulled over wit illegal weapons, alcohol, and a bulletproof vest in your vehicle, i think you threw yourself under the bus.  He had every opportunity to follow the rules, just like every other student-athlete.

wow!  ray small is absolutely

wow!  ray small is absolutely getting hammered on twitter by former and current buckeye players, even buckeye NFL'ers are tearing into him!  you can see some of it on ohio states 247sports front row board..i think even the glenville kids are gettin at him to and thats a brotherhood itself as well!

just curious, i know tha twe

just curious, i know tha twe currently do not have room for 25 commits but recenty heard that a few select fifth year seniors may be asked to leave the program after the season to make room? Does anybody know about this or if this is true??  my buddy told me and even had a few names but it would be very disrespectful to go talking about certain kids like that??  just wondering if this was perhaps true???

how does your friend not have

how does your friend not have access to this information about an on going investigation and considering much of what is posted was self-reported to the ncaa?  i dont mind what he is doing at all and im thinking most here dont either, but i find it weary that he is in an unbiased position at his job at the ncaa, yet is intent on bringing down tOSU because he personally has a vicious hatred for them.  i believe a person should be unbiased in a position like that, yes if there is dirt he should dig, but i wouldnt want someone working for the ncaa who is blatantly intent on bringing down a particular school or even the michigan football team because personal issues they have.  A person should investigate violations but should not have these intentions because they hate that school due to a football rivalry.  Im sure there are people who work for the ncaa who are not big fans of michigan but i would hope/believe they are not determined to bring down the michigan football team or any football team because they carry some kind of vendetta.  jmo.

i too was a lil surprised to

i too was a lil surprised to see mahone at #78 and rated the best back in ohio. Though he doesnt get the hype as ball or dunn, i like his highlight tape, it shows he can run inside or outside.  The coaches know more than i do but i would be fine with taking him as a rb on the offensive side of the ball?

i have seen several

i have seen several recruiting articles where pharaoh talks about wanting to go somewhere where he can play tight end even though he plays quarterback on offense for his high school team?  I assume that we are recruiting him as a defensive end since we already have two or possibly three tight ends committed.  Does anyone know what our chances are for recruiting him as a defensive player, or if we are recruiting him at another position?  I know he has said he wants to play offense but with his measurables (6'6"-6'7") he could be a great defensive end product...imo

a year ago i would have

a year ago i would have thought he would be a solid nfl running back for sure, definitely one who would be drafted.  Now, while im sure he could contribute to a team he would have to bust ass to prove to someone that he can be an assett to even make the squad.  If he gets back to serious training i think he could be an undrafted steal.  As for sanzenbacher - he had mid round talent but has had multiple concussions that caused many teams to back off.  His forty time was decent (i think 4.5??) but had one of the best shuttle times at the reciever position.  Im with you in thinking he could play, especially in the slot position, but the concussions have "tagged" him much like daquan bowers of clemson.  He played the same position and took over for guys like anthony gonzalez and brian hartline - both of who came in and contributed as rookies and looked just about the same as college players.  He will sign with a team and i look for him to actually see the field and get some quality playing tome for someone next season.  He makes big plays at big times and reminds me of a jordan shipley type, im sure he is on some teams radar once undrafted players can be contacted.

recently heard an interview

recently heard an interview with a big time recruit from florida who said he doesnt want coaches to talk about another school while they are recruiting him.  If you have to talk about another school, then maybe your school is not good enough or you are worried and makes your school look bad that you need to talk about other schools in an attempt to make yours look better.  That is what i take to be negative recruiting...mentioning any other school but your own since there really is not other reason to.  Things like "watch out for that school" may sound harmless but we all know it is a little jab that you intend to stick in the mind of the recruit and make it seem like they care.

yes i believe that he was on

yes i believe that he was on the staff while earl bruce was the coach at ohio state so he understands the tradition there.  Having went to school at the university and his both he and his wife being from there and family still there, if health reasons permit you would have to think he would seriously consider the position regardless of the sanctions.  If he could pull kids from florida that would be bad news...the speed down there is where its at and i think tOSU finally realized that after their last two nat' championship games they need to recruit sec calibur speed and have.

i think it picks up steam not

i think it picks up steam not only because he is from ohio but that he went to the university for grad school, has been a life long buckeye fan, and both he and his wife's family grew up and are still there.  i read somewhere that "one of meyers dream jobs" was in fact tOSU.  I think we all know that he will eventually return to coaching and i would imagine it would be less stressful when your friends and family are somewhat close in distance.  As for the rumors he just bought a home outside columbus - i have no idea???   While they are a cash cow and could swing a coach like that very easily, i have to think that coach fickell is also being groomed to possibly take over for tressel.  I think he will be a big time head coach somewhere in the next few years, but as of now nothing from the university has led me to believe tressel will leave - i am only hearing this from fans on opposing blogs and reporters who hope he leaves and have no association with the school.

from what i understand

From what I understand the Tat 5 will not be suspended for the entire season, but just the five games is all they will be required to sit out.  The investigations with JT and the Tat 5 are two separate cases.  The NCAA ruled they violated NCAA rules and handed down a five game suspension to the players.  The players appeal was denied and ruled the five game penalty will stand. That will be their punishment - they will able to return for the Nebraska game on Oct 8 and free to play the rest of the season.  Im sure more could come out about the players or any player for that matter and re-open the investigation but i think that it is over.

better places for recievers

Had he been able to make the grades i would say he would be more prepared at the reciever position in the NFL if he had the grades to stay at tOSU.  While Alabama is a good team, tOSU has a lot of good recievers in the league and seems to be a great place to build a top reciever (S. Holmes, M. Jenkins, A. gonzalez, Robiskie, Gallaway, etc), although i know they now have a new reciever coach.  He could have probably went somewhere other than Alabama and been a better prepared reciever should he make it to the next level but like most kids im sure he just wanted to jump on a contender and take the ride.  He should not worry about the NFL yet, but about not getting cut on some random Tuesday.

i understand

i can understand both sides of the argument,, but i do know that a lot of my friends are buckeye fans and some of them (not all) wanted us to get a les miles type of name to restore the program and the rivalry.  Some of them hope we are undefeated every year when we play them at the end of the season so it means more.  I personally want tOSU to be full strength, thats what makes the rivalry so strong because these arent two scrub teams, theyre two powerhouses  I have as well learned to separate the off the field cheating with the on field cheating like taping the other teams.  I do not believe that the tattoos gave them any special superhuman powers that make them better football players on the field.  Some people say they "beat us by cheating," but i dont think the toos had any aerodynamic ink aimed at avoiding tackles or enhancing speed.  These players will serve their suspension regardless and that will be their punishment whether they missed five games of last season or this season.  It does not matter to me but  I actually prefer that they got caught before this season b/c i believe we will be a better/more prepared team and being suspended five games of last season or this season would still mean these players played us at the end of the season either way.  Just my opinion. Go Blue!!!

mlb on scout

has him listed at middle linebacker on scout

this should help support my rumor

it was a scout article where he says he felt very disrespected by tOSU and if you read on the buckeyeplanet link below it seems they have had him going to A2 for a while.  You can also find the link to the scout article on the page below, it was originally published on gobluewolverine but could not quickly find it..........

ringer

i posted this on another thread but recently there was a two part article i think on scout where he wanted an offer from tOSU and was upset/pissed at tOSU when the coaches told him that he would not be offered by them. I think that really pissed him off and had him look at michigan even more...i dont want to spread rumors but ive seen this written about him on a few different blogs... i say hes definitely going to be wearing the maize n blue!

ringer

i remember seeing an article not too long ago (i think on scout), where he was very upset/kind of pissed with the coaches at tOSU for telling him he would not be getting an offer from them when he really wanted one....where better to go now --- Kaleb Ringer, come on down!

anyone know what this is talking about?

saw on bucknuts this morning that Bill Kurelic said "he had heard about some negative recruiting up north as one prospect from the state of Michigan the Bucks are pursuing said he has been hearing the OSU staff doesn’t like to play guys from the state of Michigan."  Shows a picture of Terry Richardson below...anyone know what this is talking about, dont have an account to read any of their articles?

UM or MSU??    Shows a

kids got it..

its not much but there is also a tiny sample video of this kid on the scoutingohio.com website doesnt show much but u can see hes got a nice break on the ball and it looks like he has some burners.... supposedly him and corey smith are wanting to attend the same school and and i know corey has got some speed from the film ive seen

...

did u think that i even wanted to know ur address, name, etc like i care or like im going to get in my car and drive to ur house and knock on ur door....i could care not at all, what made u think i want to know that info???? now im done with this .....show respect and ull get respect

why would i tell u anything guy from internet?

why would i give u that info....would u like my kids name too, their school, age, how about my social security number, or the keys to my house...i live at 555 Ur an idiot and so i guess that anyone that doesnt say michigan rules somewhere in every post is an anonymous coward, i thought this was a forum to post/converse/debate, but i guess if you post something don doesnt agree with then u are considered a coward....yea that makes total sense?

i dont think people are being negative, i think theyre realistic

i dont think that anyone is being negative don, just real....i could sit here and lie say that weve won the national championship every year in the past decade and would that make u feel better??  but the reality is that things havent been that great and that is all these 16 and 17 year olds can remember, most probably cannot remember watching tim biakabutuka run all over tOSU, or A-train, or even that Tom Brady played for the Wolverines....so get over it and open ur eyes bro

focus on recruits from michigan, not longshots from ohio

easier said than done but does it seem like we are not focusing on solid recruits in michigan but rather going after longshots in ohio.....dont forget these longshots from ohio that they dont have room for also have offers from places like alabama, auburn, florida, usc

things dont always stay the same just because they once were

the pittsburgh pirates were good once too, but obviously not now.....things change and if that werent the case, id be married .. its simple the program has lost a lot of its luster since these kids were young, all they can remember is michigan getting hammered by not just ohio state but just about everybody.... its the same as asking a kid do you want to start for the pittsburgh pirates or do you want to start every 3rd game for the yankees???????

tOSU just offered this kid

maybe some bad news?...... according to 247 sports tOSU has offered Ross earlier today...his dad said it was the offer he has been wanting/waiting for.... doesn't sound to good...tOSU rarely goes after a Michigan player so this kid must be the real deal

i dont believe he would, but could be wrong????

i dont believe tressel would do such a thing and go after a committed player, i believe some see it as "class-less."  From what i understand they offered two players so far in the 2012 class who committed elsewhere and are no longer recruiting them in he least bit.  Yes i know offers cant officially go out until later this year, but from what i heard this past year in recruiting, only when players open their recruitment back up or contact tOSU does tressel listen.  He is not a coach that is known for pressuring players to come to tOSU so i cannot believe he would contact/let alone offer a kid.  Their all-world linebacker recruit Curtis Grant said earlier this month that tressel was the only coach that recruited him whodid not pressure him what-so-ever and let him make up his own mind.  It may not sound like much but that kind of attitude goes a long way with recruits, especially after Brionte said a few days earlier that he did not want other schools to contact/bother him.   If you look i dont think they would want players from Michigan anyways or who are comitted to michigan, not trying to say anything about Michigan football, but if you look at their roster they have a total of six players from michigan.  I think we need to build more competitive high school players from a younger age.  How great would it be if we didnt have to take any players from Ohio, they feel they do not want many players from Michigan so shouldnt we do the same and stop going after Ohio recruits...show them what we got.  I hate tOSU so why do i want players from Ohio.  I think Hoke could make a statement by not going after players in Ohio like tressel does, to kind of say we dont want players from Ohio anyways.  All i see on here is people bashing Ohio so why do we go after their players?  I dont see the logic?

nice...

Seeing as how tOSU is going after the best defensive backs/safeties in florida/the nation i believe michigan has a very realistic shot at him.  I seriously doubt tOSU offers him and are not even finding the scholarships to offer some of the other top talent in Ohio as of yet ...see "Bam Bradley."  With the hire of stan drayton and stealing major players from the gators this past year they have a realistic shot at getting guys like deon bush, diggs out of florida and though he still could recieve an offer from tOSU i believe they are going after the best in the nation, not just ohio.  I think we have as good of a shot as anbody right now, maybe a little better than most but it is still early.  I think tOSU would go after Bam Bradley and devan bogard before Wilson though its just my opinion.

a walk-on isnt necessarily a 2* athlete

From what i have read the reason this kid was not heavily recruited is because he is too much of an unknown, having played only one year of football.  After this kid gets some work and a college strength and conditioning program he may develop or may not - as of now he is quite raw but has a ton of room to improve and learn.  His coach (a former Michigan player who contacted Ohio State) seems to think that he has the upside be a possible starter one day.  Im not sure how likely this is with the top linemen they are going after/havecoming in 2012, but hes in the door and he has a chance.  To say this kid is comparable to a 2* recruit is completely foolish, a walk-on is a walk-on and are seen mainly as a project for one reason or another.  Look at guys like green bay linebacker clay matthews who were walk-ons and are now pro-bowlers in the NFL.
