|12 hours 54 min ago||One player to watch for the Idaho Potato Bowl||
is Khalil Mack. He is considered to be a top 10-15 pick for 2014 draft. He's an explosive OLB who can rush the passer and is a nightmare against the run. 6'3", 250 lbs LB who runs 4.5. He dominated OSU and made Mewhort look like a 3rd string OT which is impressive considering Mewhort is an All-B1G OT.

I didn't read this through, but thanks for the correction.

in other ways other than scoring. You need to watch KCP play. He's doing quite well for a #5 option on the team. Hard to shoot the ball when you don't get to shoot the ball a lot.
Trey needs to be more efficient because he takes 20 shots to get 20 points which is not good.
|1 day 6 hours ago||Debateable||
Trey have the stats but is inefficient while KCP doesn't get asked to score a ton. KCP is a superior defender. It's a wash, bascially. KCP can shoot and is a better athlete.
KCP was the SEC POY which is amazing considering he was on a bad team. Yes, Trey was the National POY but had much better teammates around him.
|1 day 7 hours ago||What?||
He transferred because of Trey Burke playing in front of him.
|1 day 9 hours ago||You don't take a player||
that would put people's butt on the seat. That's a short-sighted thinking. The better plan is to take the best possbile player for the team and with winning, it would put people's butt on the seat moreso than just taking a "local" player. People come when they win, period.
|1 day 9 hours ago||You need to take the Maize and Blue glasses off||
There is a reason why Joe D chose KCP over Burke. KCP is a better athlete, shooter and defender than Trey. KCP fits the overall piece of the team over Trey. Trey is a solid but not great athlete, will never be an elite defensive player, decent but not great shooter and is kind of small for a PG.
How is this trolling when other people are saying the same thing once the intital shock that Joe D passed on Trey in the draft?
|1 day 10 hours ago||Regarding #2||
That's false. Fans expect a winning season and I have not heard any one of them (non hardcore fans that is and possibly here) said that 1st year would be a growing pain for RR.
|2 days 5 hours ago||There were big warning signs about Darko||
he barely got PT at Euro and wasn't super productive even on limited minutes. Dumars drafted him based on potential. Switch Pistons with any other teams, Darko would still be #2 overall pick.
Not sure how he was thrown into a bad situation. Darko was raw as hell and needed time for seasoning. He was a bust based on expectation, but if he was drafted at late 1st round, he would have been a decent contributor. He wasn't terrible but wasn't great either.
|2 days 6 hours ago||All are good points||
People who are hating on Joe D for passing on Burke should just chill. Can we just say that both KCP and Burke ended up in a better situation for their career?
The biggest sticking point is Greg Monroe. I don't think he's worth the max contract and he is a very useable tradeable asset along with expiring contracts like Stuckey, Charlie V. I expect Joe D to make moves to ensure that Josh Smith will play at the PF position where it'll decrease the chance of him jacking up long 2 pt jumpers. They need to find a SF who can shoot to make the team cohesive offensively and defensively. Smith-Monroe-Drummond combo makes for one of the worse defensive combo in the league.
You have to be encouraged with the Pistons play as of late with the last few games. If Jennings and Smith are shooting at least 40% or better, the Pistons are a hard team to handle because of their ability to make tough shots that can be well defended. To me, they have started to figure it out on how to play together. Joe D may not end up trading away if they continue to knock out top teams like Heat and Pacers.
|2 days 7 hours ago||Yes, there's two ways to look at it||
I think Joe D believe that either Knight (at the time) or thought there's a legit shot of landing Jennings would be a better option over taking a rookie PG who has a lot to prove whereas KCP would serve as a role player early on before expanding his role down the road. KCP already has natural athleticism and can shoot the ball. There's real value of getting a player who can shoot 3 and play defense. Most team would take that player any day.
|2 days 13 hours ago||KCP is a good pick||
over time, he'll show that he'll be a great 3 pt shooter and defender. That's his role as of now and will only grow with experience. He has shown that he can be an elite defensive player which won't ever be Burke's game.
Brandon Jennings has done a real good job running the team IMO. He is very adept in pick and roll with Monroe/Drummond. Look at his assists numbers. It's over 8 apg which is a great number for a PG. Is he frustrating? Yes because he takes unnecessary shots, but isn't a terrible shooter either.
|2 days 15 hours ago||I think Lewan's tendency to leave his chest exposed at pass pro||
is one flaw that has been popping up this season. It is correctable with coaching.
|2 days 15 hours ago||Anybody can put up a mock draft||
because it's a prediction of where a prospect should be picked. It doesn't show anybody's scouting prowness on evaluating prospects. One trade up or one surprise pick, the mock draft goes off the window because it changes everything. Look at his mock draft accuracy, he's not good in that area.

Beat Heat and Pacers on the road, making them the only team in the NBA to pull this off. Took Portland into OT and took a last second GW shot by Lillard to beat the Pistons. They can challenge the East after a slow start with a lot of new pieces and them trying to figure out where they fit. So far, they are forming an identity.
|2 days 18 hours ago||Pistons is the only team in the NBA to have||
2 road wins against the Pacers and the Heat. Hibbert had a bad game against the Pistons. Heat had no answer for Drummond. Pistons, for some reason, match up well against both team. Also, the Pistons are 12-5 against the East but 1-9 against the West. They played Portland tough and needed Daimian Lillard last second shot to beat them.
|3 days 15 hours ago||I have more trust in JB than Hoke||
when it comes to players development. JB has shown that he can develop players. They're true freshmen throw into the fire plus returning players have to figure out their new roles as well.
I expect Michigan to be much better in March rather than today. To see the improvement thus far this season is encouraging.
|3 days 16 hours ago||Whereas NBA||
said it's okay to catch and shoot at .3 sec left aka Derek Fisher rule.
|3 days 18 hours ago||What if they don't pan out||
I would say WR is unproven until they show it on the field. Can't say Drake Harris or Darboh would be studs when they never set foot on the field. That's just as silly as thinking Saban will leave Bama for a MAC school.
|3 days 18 hours ago||He is a better prospect than Joeckel IMO||
More athletic, but is a nasty run blocker. Yes, it's hard to block for Johnny Football who improvise a lot, but he did well when he had Tannehill at QB 2 years ago.
|3 days 18 hours ago||Funchess is the only proven WR||
others haven't been proven to show that they can be a receiving threat. Saying that WR is set is silly IMO because they haven't shown anything on the field yet.
|3 days 19 hours ago||What's more important is||
the master degrees of Sports Management. Bachelor degree is starting to become more and more useless unless you have tons of internship/volunteer experiences. If I were him, I'd go with a different major that would be useful down the road like Econ, Business, etc. for undergrad then apply for grad school in Sports Management. The most important thing is to talk to the athletic department about helping out in any capacity in your freshman/soph year. Once you do it often enough, they'll get to know you and if you want undergraduate student internship, it's much easier to get the coveted internship spot in whichever department you want to work in like Marketing/Promotions, Sports Info, etc. Continue to volunteer and work i an internship from undergrad to grad school. By then, you will already have more experience than most people with a master degree.
|4 days 6 hours ago||He wasn't going to beat out Jake Matthews||
for one of the spot so essentially, Lewan is battling other OTs like Kouijando, Robinson, Mewhort, Scherff, etc. for one other spot.
|4 days 13 hours ago||Another former Michigan basketball player||
and football as well, Kelvin Grady, is the head coach for Grand Rapids Union Girl High School. It is his 1st year coaching: http://highschoolsports.mlive.com/news/article/4650497414423799351/former-east-grand-rapids-and-university-michigan-standout-kelvin-grady-earns-first-win-as-coach-for-the-union-girls-basketball-team-in-exciting-fashion/
|4 days 16 hours ago||Disagree that he is garbage||
he is uber talented with a golden arm. He just doesn't have the right coaching to guide him.
|4 days 17 hours ago||No||
Sorry for the confusion. I'm calling hiring former NFL HC, retreads(which they typically are). Bill O'Brien is not one of them. He should be near the top of the list for Lions in coaching search if they fire Schwartz which they will (if they don't make the playoff).
|4 days 17 hours ago||Cowher is not relatively young||
he's 56 but he has said he won't back into coaching unless it's near where he lives (READ: NOT DETROIT).
Gruden has a nice paying job at ESPN booth where the pressure is low. He has been mentioned in literally every coaching vacancies and was never a serious candidate at the same time. He won SB with Dungy's player. Any coach would've take over TB and won SB that way. TB was an uber talented team.
|4 days 19 hours ago||I don't want Lions to hire re-treads||
Bill O'Brien have coached in the NFL.
They tried with Mooch and failed miserably though Millen had a lot to do with it. They hired Martz as the OC and failed big time because of his philosophy and personality clash.
|4 days 19 hours ago||Why do people keep mentioning Cowher and Gruden?||
Both aren't coming back to coach especially Cowher. He's retired for good. Gruden has a nice cushy job at ESPN and isn't looking to leave anytime soon. He's the greatest tire kicker on every coaching vacany in college and pro. He wasn't a great HC in the pro anyway and won SB with Dungy's players.
|4 days 19 hours ago||Look at recent college coaches hire||
Jim Harbaugh, Chip Kelly and Pete Carroll. They're having huge successes with their current team.
I wouldn't mind Bill O'Brien. He has been the coach at pro level as a OC and knows the in and outs of NFL. Had success at PSU despite the sanctions. Would be a good fit for the Lions IMO.
