|15 hours 39 min ago||If you're talking about stars||
it's not a problem, but if you're talking about evaluations, hard to tell. They may not be good in evaluations but it's their 3rd year in the program so time will tell.
|17 hours 32 min ago||If his academics aren't good enough||
to get admitted into Michigan, Hoke wouldn't have recruited him to begin with.
Michigan's academic standards aren't that rigorous. They're the same as any team in the country. If they're rigorous, most of the players on the team wouldn't be playing for Michigan.
|17 hours 56 min ago||He's not going to need to learn new playbook||
considering he played under Nuss at Bama. Chemistry, I agree with you.
|1 day 20 hours ago||It does happen when a father didn't think||
his own son is good enough for his own D1 team.
Doug McDermott wasn't good enough to earn a scholarship at Iowa State when his dad was the coach there. Obviously, his dad was wrong about his son. That can happen, but by the same token, there have been several players who played for their dad on college level. Ray McCallum, Trey Zeigler, Saul Smith, etc. all have played for their dad.
|1 day 23 hours ago||Regarding Ex-Tigers RP||
Grilli have the stuff but he added a pitch after he left Detroit which made him a dangerous RP.
Rodney always have the stuff. You know he has the ability to strike 3 hitters out with ease, but he has confidence issue. Change of scenary have done him good. His change-up may be arguably the best in the league.
|3 days 15 hours ago||Except JB||
said he'll take up a schollie spot so he's part of the scholarship count.
|4 days 15 hours ago||I know some student-athletes||
and the dining halls opens and close at certain times and they have practices/games/classes to deal with so they missed either breakfast, lunch or dinner. They sometimes go through day or night hungry.
There is a lot of truth on what Napier have said about going to bed starving.
|4 days 15 hours ago||I believe||
I paid 230 for the student season tickets when I was at Michigan. I'm willing to bet that you were the students in the 80s when it cost 5 bucks a pop.
|5 days 20 hours ago||or you can look at Doug McDermott||
When he was in HS, his dad was the coach at Iowa State. He didn't think his own son was good enough to get a schollie offer at ISU. Obviously, he was wrong, but there is a case of his father being objective toward his son.
That could be the case, but I haven't heard anything about academics preventing him from getting a schollie offer at Stanford.
|6 days 6 min ago||Remember||
we are looking at highlight tapes which skews out evaluations. There is a reason why he's not being offered by power conference teams. If his own dad does not offer his son to play at Stanford, there has to be a reason why.
|6 days 10 min ago||Burke did it against a mediocre||
Minnesota team while KCP did it against a full strength OKC team. KCP did it against a much tougher competition.
|6 days 9 hours ago||Disagree on THJ||
he's nothing more than a really good role player coming off the bench. THJ has done really well for the Knicks as a shooter coming off the bench which is perfect for him.
|6 days 9 hours ago||True||
but 30 in regulation >>> 32 in 2 OTs
|6 days 9 hours ago||Trey had a good game||
but it took a 2 OT against a mediocre Minnesota team
while KCP had
5-7 3 pts
KCP had a better game because he did it in regulation time against a vastly superior team even though Trey had a good game as well.
|6 days 10 hours ago||KCP finally got real minutes||
plus actual touches, not some token touches to show what he can do. The result? A very efficient 30 points game while disrupting Westbrook for most of the night. KCP needs to start and play 30 minutes every night next year and get actual touches as well.
|1 week 5 hours ago||Only one I can think of||
is Adrien Payne, but he was a 5* recruit who developed into a more well rounded game by his senior year. Other than that, no one really.
|1 week 11 hours ago||To some extent||
they allow zone defense. However, you will get hit with a technical foul for illegal defense for when you're inside the lane without guarding offensive player. So in reality, a zone but not really a zone defense.
Syracuse 2-3 zone defense would never work in NBA because they would get called for illegal defense in every possession.
|1 week 13 hours ago||Non-existent defense?||
Shows how much you know about NBA. It's nearly impossible to play defense like college because you can't grab, hand check players and/or play zone defense. The NBA players are much more proefficent in shooting the ball which makes it that much harder to guard players. There's so much more spacing in NBA that it really limit on what you can do as an individual player.
If any, it's NCAA that strip basketball fans of something fresh, cool, new and awesome with zone defense and hand checking rules.
|1 week 17 hours ago||The Suns||
would be a good fit for GRIII tbh. Fast paced team with Dragic and Bledsoe at G with GRIII flying down the court.
|1 week 18 hours ago||Really funny||
how Tennessee players completely supported Cuonzo Martin's decision to take Cal's job. It speak highly of him as a person/coach to have complete support from the player where they could've been angry with him leaving them without notice.
|1 week 22 hours ago||Struggled throughout the tournament||
Michigan made it to the B1G Championship game and went to Elite 8 before losing to eventual NC runner up, Kentucky, who are more talented than Michigan?
I'll take those "struggles" if that's the case.
|1 week 1 day ago||There was a tweet||
from a sports reporter of NBA scout mentioning that GRIII is under the radar and thought that he is a late 1st rounder.
I can't find it anywhere but as of now, he may have gotten words from NBA draft committee that he got a late 1st round grade from them. That's good enough reason to bolt for the NBA.
|1 week 1 day ago||Or he can lose money||
like he did this year by staying one more year. He's not going to want to risk it one more year and lose his draft slot some more. As of now, he's projected as a late 1st to early 2nd.
|1 week 1 day ago||why do people keep refering to family||
when it's all about their own potential earnings. It's not like they will continue to live off from their parent's money. He is going to need to earn his own money eventually.
|1 week 2 days ago||I agree||
can we just retire the term, "Ohio" as OSU because this is too confusing. Also, it needs to die because it was great to poke fun in Hoke's 1st year. Now, it's not that fun and Hoke is on the hot seat at the moment while OSU has gone 25-2 under Urban Meyer.
|1 week 3 days ago||At the time when||
Tigers had Miller and Maybin, their farm system was ranked in top 5 so that's what I'm referring to. They had a surplus of young talents at their disposal and traded away most of them to get Miggy, Polcando, etc. Sure most of them became a dud but that didn't stop DD from acquiring better talent over the long run.
|1 week 4 days ago||People forget||
that the Tigers once had a great farm system when he was the GM. He traded away most of them to get players like Miggy for example. The Tigers now are making an effort to rebuild the farm system.
|1 week 4 days ago||Dombrowski||
won way more trades than he lost it. Time will tell if the deal is good for the Tigers or not. It is dependent on the development of Robbie Ray and Ian Krol.
Fister hasn't pitch this season due to injury. Way too early to say he lost the trade.
|1 week 4 days ago||I don't blame him||
one bit for it. It's hard seeing his older brother, Al, having a lot of success in the NBA with multiple All-Star appearances. It's obvious that he has NBA aspirations that he's looking out for himself.
|1 week 4 days ago||It gives you more chance to||
flex your muscles on the lesser opponents thus reducing the probability of getting an upset. You want more opportunities to score points. The lesser teams are better served in getting fewer possessions thus increasing the variance of upsetting top teams.
