that's unfortunate, but at least the interest is there on both sides

I wouldn't have read this without your post. I don't intend to jack your thread, but your post reminded me of this older publication about coach.
|1 day 11 hours ago||Congratulations on the offer, Big Country||
Welcome to Michigan. I'm glad you're with us.
|1 day 15 hours ago||It seems to me that you want a linear progression||
In recruiting and the program's success. Shit unfortunately happens in many forms. Good thing we have a tremendous basketball coaching staff in charge and adapting to it all.
|2 days 7 min ago||Your making up the idea that Davis was anticipating offers.||
Wolv said only that other big coaches might offer. He also said coach B didn't want to take risk.
|2 days 16 min ago||I think you missed the point||
Davis is not the one waiting for something better to come along.
|2 days 50 min ago||Most recent highlights||
Show him dunking easily. No problems. Don't worry. Be happy.
|2 days 52 min ago||no. The track record of 2 big ten titles and nearly a third.||
An elite 8 game, a finals game and 6-7 NBA pros in 8 years.
|2 days 56 min ago||Aubrey could play guard||
Lavell Jordan will get them ready.
|2 days 58 min ago||Wagner Donnal and Wilson are not true bigs||
If they play center next season, it's by necessity. Those guys are stretch fours at most. Wagner might be a tall 3.
|2 days 1 hour ago||Looks much leaner quicker and athletic||
With very good foot work and touch near the basket. Showing it against guys his own size too.
|2 days 1 hour ago||We only have one true center on the roster||
Doyle. Big ten teams are regularly beating us on the boards.
I think coach B is going with big lineups long term. Teske or Davis backup doyle. Wilson, Wagner and Robinson play the 4 position. Rahkman and Walton play the pg position in 2016. Irvin, Aubrey and chatman play the 2 and 3 spots with Wagner or Robinson filling in as needed. The elite hs wings and guards will probably hold out until a year from now to commit to a school. If or when irvin or walton decide to leave early, Beilein can grab a guard or wing at that time more easily than finding a big man late. I think beilein knows he needs more size to win big championships.

Too many standards in this discussion. I started out simply saying really good talent has gone to msu. If you're the best in one of the 50 states, you're very talented. Izzo has had loads of talent. You haven't persuaded me he has done development that translates to reasonable success. We'll have to agree to disagree.
|6 days 16 hours ago||I was talking development||
And Zach Randolph seems like he supports the notion that izzo doesn't develop big men. The guys who stay can't do well and the guy that gets away after a year does well. If Randolph stayed longer, izzo might have a case.
|1 week 1 hour ago||17 hs all Americans, 13 mr. Basketball||
Paul Davis. Raymar Morgan. Delvon roe. Costello. Nix. Dawson. Torbert. 4 years for each. All Underachievement.
|1 week 1 hour ago||Who are you referring to?||
I can't tell if your trying to say he hasn't had big man talent out of high school. I mean how many Mr. Basketball big men has he had? Was Costello? Nix? Those are two that quickly come to mind. Dawson is a big by definition, he plays the four. Tolbert?
Izzo has gotten plenty of talent. They clearly underachieve IMO.
|1 week 6 hours ago||I can't think of anything that guarantees wins or championships||
short guys might guarantee losses though.
|1 week 6 hours ago||no thanks||
I believe in Beilein's coaching and recruiting. We are just fine.
|1 week 9 hours ago||In your opinion||
Who's better? Izzo or Billy Donovan?
|1 week 9 hours ago||For all the great history of rebounding at msu under izzo||
Who is a front court player he actually developed into a good NBA player in 20 frigging years?
Draymond green? That's it? A second round pick who continued to develop under NBA coaches.
|1 week 10 hours ago||old information on Robinson|
|1 week 10 hours ago||tall lineup||
Rahkman, Levert, Irvin, Doyle and one more from Chatman, Wilson, Robinson, Dawkins.
I think Chatman will surprise because I saw late last season some signs of the game slowing down for him.
|1 week 10 hours ago||Rahkman is 6-4||
Also could be a tall point guard
|1 week 10 hours ago||Our roster next season has a lot of experience and height||
I really like our chances if guys can stay healthy.
Bigs: Doyle, Donnal, Wilson are 6-9
Efficient offense system in place.
|1 week 4 days ago||Exactly.||
Plus, Spike is having what looks to be significant surgery. Having seniors, especially in the B1G, is necessary, given the more physical defense (i.e. fouls) allowed and the lack of young teams. I think the conferences with the blue bloods, with their one and dones, tend to be younger teams from a high level view, but it seems in the B1G, we are always the youngest rotation of players.
I would take Caris.
|25 weeks 6 hours ago||defense is at least above average||
And offense is terrible. Can someone kindly convince me that we are not msu from two years ago, because that belief has me wanting hoke to remain head coach.
|25 weeks 1 day ago||Dawson doesn't belong imo.||
He's had three years of being no better than third fiddle on his team. He cannot shoot the ball, so if he somehow becomes the man on izzo's team, I still cannot see him being a top 5 Big Ten player. He might not even be top 10 big ten player by the end of the season.
|48 weeks 2 days ago||Not buying the hype on dawson or valentine||
Getting assist production without proven scorers or seniors in Payne, Harris or Appling will be far more difficult with defenses focusing on denzel. Getting rebound production for dawson will be challenging for similar reasons. The pressure for them to be all around scorers will be high. Izzo's development or lack thereof will be showcased clearly either way.
|1 year 2 days ago||bravo||
I really enjoyed the audio-visual synchronization. Good job. Thanks.
|1 year 3 days ago||Biggest bust might be Tolbert||
I googled "Kevin Tolbert" which led me to KELVIN TORBERT. This article popped up
Quote: "Torbert was arguably the top high school player in the country (he won two such awards) and would have been a top 10-15 pick in the NBA Draft straight out of high school. He chose to go to MSU, and the rest is history. I know there are many basketball fans in Flint that still believe that choosing MSU was the kiss of death for Torbert’s NBA prospects."

Fantastic tribute. Thanks very much for sharing. It made my early Monday morning.
