|18 weeks 5 days ago||defense is at least above average||
And offense is terrible. Can someone kindly convince me that we are not msu from two years ago, because that belief has me wanting hoke to remain head coach.
|18 weeks 6 days ago||Dawson doesn't belong imo.||
He's had three years of being no better than third fiddle on his team. He cannot shoot the ball, so if he somehow becomes the man on izzo's team, I still cannot see him being a top 5 Big Ten player. He might not even be top 10 big ten player by the end of the season.
|42 weeks 1 day ago||Not buying the hype on dawson or valentine||
Getting assist production without proven scorers or seniors in Payne, Harris or Appling will be far more difficult with defenses focusing on denzel. Getting rebound production for dawson will be challenging for similar reasons. The pressure for them to be all around scorers will be high. Izzo's development or lack thereof will be showcased clearly either way.

I really enjoyed the audio-visual synchronization. Good job. Thanks.
|46 weeks 2 days ago||Biggest bust might be Tolbert||
I googled "Kevin Tolbert" which led me to KELVIN TORBERT. This article popped up
Quote: "Torbert was arguably the top high school player in the country (he won two such awards) and would have been a top 10-15 pick in the NBA Draft straight out of high school. He chose to go to MSU, and the rest is history. I know there are many basketball fans in Flint that still believe that choosing MSU was the kiss of death for Torbert’s NBA prospects."

Fantastic tribute. Thanks very much for sharing. It made my early Monday morning.

Good stuff. The analysis is fresh and thorough. Thanks for sharing.
|48 weeks 5 hours ago||I've cared about Michigan bball since long before izzo's era||
Izzo's always been insufferable. He is more so lately.
|48 weeks 4 days ago||And then we have our guy||
I like much more our guy.
|48 weeks 4 days ago||"For lent, I gave up talking about the officiating"||
Not as whiney as his usual self, Izzo still finds ways to complain about officiating, players (all of sudden Harris is not the best player in the league in his mind so he might need to return next year), twitter, and the wimpification of society as a whole.
|49 weeks 7 hours ago||Thinking you really know someone from a message board||
Is seriously weird. Putting it out there that you think so is seriously wrong.
I don't agree with Tater on Webber, but you come across as a serious dikhead. I'm not kidding.
|50 weeks 4 days ago||No matter how the seeds play out||
I see Michigan going the furthest of any B1G team in the tournament. This loss will make the team play angrier. Go Blue.
|51 weeks 3 days ago||In your most likely scenario||
I think GR3 gets more time at the 3 spot.
Also, I cringe a little at our fan base putting out the expectation of national titles. It's great that we've arrived, but we should win one first before expecting any.
Also, I remember last year MSU coaches and players having press conferences after the season all but guaranteeing a national title with Payne, Harris and Appling returning. Could still happen, I suppose. I hope that Beilein and company never behave like Izzo and company.
Anyway, as Beilein says, "one game at a time" in this B1G league. And then, subs.
|52 weeks 23 hours ago||whining izzo||
He is the person that is extremely annoying. His players are guilty by association.
Today izzo was complaining about society in general because he convinced himself that it is to blame for 4 year players each getting a bad NBA Draft reputation. Never mind the idea of a business wanting as much upside (i.e.a younger player) in regards to investing millions of dollars. Also, college basketball is a big business, as evidenced by izzo salary and benefits.
Dude is crazy about his whining about his job. He's just pissed he has a poor track record developing young talent.
|1 year 6 hours ago||I ran into Courtney Sims||
at the IM building when the pick-up bball games were shut down so the MMBB team could have practice.
He was a bit too cool to my friendly hello, as a I recall. Not a big deal whatsoever.
Anyway, he was the most frustrating player to watch, because he'd have so many "soft" performances and then one tough one in a blue moon against a weak team.
My favorite player was Lester Abrams.
I have blocked out all detailed memories of the Ellerbe era, even though I remember watching every single game of the Ellerbe and Amaker eras. I also watched every game of the first 4 years of Beilein, but now I cannot catch every game.
I thank God for the mgoblogger that posts the games these days on youtube for me to catch up on later. Thank you, whoever you are.
|1 year 1 week ago||We should try to forget about MSU||
Desperate defense is desperate, but it's still defense within the rules (assuming no contact).
MSU will do well this post season. Will they win the BTT, or go to the FF or win the NCAA title? Who knows. I'd rather they not win a championship, but at this point, who should really care?
Yes, Izzo constantly acts like a whiney d-bag (I'm not making excuses, but . . . ). People outside of Michigan's fanbase seem to see at least some of that. OTOH, his team is still in 2nd place and could still win a share of the regular season title this year.
Next year? that msu team looks relatively tenuous, but TBD. All I know is 6 out of (m**f**g) 8. Let's go for 7 out of 9 when that next game arrives.
Michigan isn't going away anytime soon. If not this year, it looks like next year Michigan will send more first round picks to the NBA.
Recruits like Luke Kennard, Jalen Coleman and Jalen Brunson are probably seeing and noticing the tremendous improvements Michigan players and teams make each season.
That's a lot of writing to say something as simple as: Michigan is back under Beilein.
Let's take his lead and be classy, humble and appreciative for each win as they come. One game at a time. It's served us well to not be the entitled pricks that the rcmb fanbase shows itself to be.
|1 year 3 weeks ago||scouting opportunities baby||
Michigan can prepare for 4 days for Wisconsin while watching Wisconsin play Minn. on Thursday.
Michigan can prepare for MSU for 6 days while watching MSU play on Thursday, Sunday and Thursday.
Michigan not only survived a brutal schedule that doesn' t much easier at all, but it thrived. Lots of reasons to be confident as a team. I hope what THJ said recently rings true. GO BLUE.
|1 year 3 weeks ago||a full week||
without a game will help Beilein make the team get better. I still agree that it will be a grind, just not the same grind as other B1G teams that used up the "bye week."
|1 year 3 weeks ago||something to consider about scheduling||
Home court and timing.
I think both schedules shake out evenly the rest of the way. Michigan has the challenging games now, MSU later. The timing favors Michigan after the OSU game on Tuesday. That's why that game is so huge IMO.
|1 year 4 weeks ago||Happy birthday, Coach Beilein||
Thanks for representing my school with class. Good luck tonight.

holding serve is key.
protecting the fort is must.
prevent the enemy from invading.
(somebody slap me please).
|1 year 5 weeks ago||Absolutely NO BREATHERS in the B1G||
I also have felt that after the last three games, Purdue can't possibly be a loss, but it's clear that no win (home or away) is all that easy if at all.
We barely escaped Nebraska with a win which was more difficult than playing at MSU according to the score, etc.
Hopefully the players are really following Coach Beilein's mantra of the next game is the only game that matters and each game is the same as any other one.
|1 year 5 weeks ago||thanks||
I thought about just writing that I had sex with Dawson's wife, but then jerkstore came to mind.
|1 year 5 weeks ago||Maybe he broke his hand practicing||
slapping the floor to play defense.
|1 year 6 weeks ago||CONFIDENCE||
Beilein's staff in the most recent episode of Inside Michigan basketball said that the players know they've earned the right to be confident even though they also are taught to respect each and every opponent.
MSU is very good, but Michigan should feel like it can get a win. Michigan has beaten three of the other top four teams in the B1G with two of those wins on the road (at MN and at Wisc).
MSU has only beaten one of the other top four teams (MN) in East Lansing in overtime.
|1 year 6 weeks ago||Iowa is my favorite to win the B1G||
ever so slightly ahead of Michigan and then a toss-up between Wisconsin and MSU. Izzo will have his team dialed in for Michigan, but I don't see us losing our home court to him. We might be able to steal one there. But first things first.
Tomorrow's game is HUGE. Go Blue, baby.
|1 year 6 weeks ago||Eh. Same thing was written here about THJ||
Stauskas works like crazy on his game. The pace of his improvement is impressive. I say he can be a first rounder either this year or as a junior, depending on how his improvement continues.
Let the chips fall where they may, and either way, it's great for Michigan. The future is bright for him and Michigan.
|1 year 7 weeks ago||Michigan's only-one game matchups for home = PSU & NW||
while the one-game matchups for the road are OSU and Illinois.
Last year we only got one game against Wisconsin on the road.
B1G scheduling seems to disfavor Michigan a lot lately. Wisconsin and others seem to get the better end of it too.
Will the B1G ever get to time when every team plays every other team twice?
|1 year 17 weeks ago||I'm not talking shit about hoops||
Hoops is poised to lead the B1G, but MIchigan still has to win big games this year. I think it will. Until then, Michigan is not the best in the conference. Top 4, for sure.
|1 year 17 weeks ago||why is the OP garbage?||
You can't be the best if you're too blind to see your weaknesses.
