Precious Orji being criminally underrated as a 3 seed.  But yeah, they (she?) lose to Jizyah Shorts in the final.

Agree 100% on your first point about pressing the advantage after we break the press

But if you're autobenching Poole, who are you giving his minutes to?  Our rotation is already on 6-7 deep so unless you want to see a lot more Brooks the bad shots are something we'll need to live with.

Just a reminder, Michigan definitely did not get the first down (not sure if you meant on review or thought we went for it on 4th).  The spot was on 3rd down and since O'korn was out of bounds it stopped the clock and forced us to give the ball to OSU with 30 seconds left.  Robbins had probably his best punt of the year to force a touchback and OSU took a knee, but that spot easily could have given Meyer a chance to run a few quick plays and get in FG range.

Except against Michigan

I see the Bredeson hold and the Hurst non-hold as very similar plays.  One got called, one didn't.  Similar comparison could be made for PIs involving Hudson and McDoom.  Similar instances where the defender probably had a small impact in knocking the receiver off balance.  Those calls should split 50/50, but obviously didn't.  That's why the refs left such a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

Offsetting Penalty situation

Agree with comments above that the refs certainly did not cost us this game.  But is someone able to explain what happened I believe just before O'Korn's 2nd interception?  There were two penalties on the play as we were just short of midfield.  As I recall a holding against Michigan and something in the defensive secondary against MSU.  Yet, the penalties did not offset and we ended up with a 1st & 20.  O'Korn threw an interception I believe 2 plays later on something like 2nd & 13.

I was watching the game in a bar so couldn't hear enough to get an explanation but the way the penalties were assessed put us behind the chains and into an obvious passing situation during the storm.

Personnel issues Your 3rd point is what I realized this morning. Running a passing spread with receivers who can’t get separation is a recipe for disaster. It appears Pep wants to run his NFL style short passing game but right now we don’t have the players to execute it.
Fetter

Noooooo!!!! If Fetter takes the job all my efforts to convince him to be the ace on my amateur wood bat team in Indianapolis goes for naught!

*For those of you not aware Fetter grew up and currently resides in Indy.  Was hoping our Michigan past could sway him to play with us

They did a slight renovation

They did a slight renovation and now have a good number of TVs.  Certainly enough to watch the 3-4 games going on.  I'm not sure what the atmosphere would be for a non-Michigan/Purdue/IU event so if you're looking for a sports atmosphere you may be better served at some of the traditional sports bars.

O'Reillys

Our local viewing parties are held at O'Reillys Bar, which is literally kitty-corner from Bankers Life.  Word is the bar itself is opening at 8:00AM since it is St Pattys Day.  Not sure how packed it will be and if an official viewing party can be set up given the day, but I'm sure there will be plenty of M Alumni there before and during the game who couldn't/didn't get tickets.

5 Teams?

I was aware the AFL was in trouble, but right now only 5 teams are listed on its website?!?!  Even the "storied" franchises like the San Jose Sabercats, Arizona Rattlers, and Orlando Predators seem to be gone...

One major advantage they have

One major advantage they have over other FBS schools is the lack of FCS schools in that area of the country.  If memory serves there is 1 FCS team in Minnesota, 1 in Wisconsin, 2 in Iowa, and 0 in the Dakotas and Montana.  While the top tier athletes still end up at the big schools, NDSU has done a great job grabbing those second-tier players who in a state like Michigan would definitely be playing at one of the directional schools.

That being said their staff has obviously done an amazing job at developing and getting the most out of those players.

Reacting to the play is

Reacting to the play is alright.  Overreacting is a problem.  For example, I routinely watch at a viewing party any time we give up a 5 yard run it was Joe Bolden's fault.  Didn't matter if a lineman had a free release to him or even if he was on the other side of the field, it was still Bolden's fault.

That's the type of guy you can't stand being around because it makes everyone dumber.

Are you saying people were

Are you saying people were wearing the jumpsuits of their favorite driver?

This stuff happens

Baseball is a funny game.  Probably one of the flukiest sports because of the nature of the game.  Well hit balls can go for outs yet a duck snort can fall in for a hit.  I haven't watched many games this year but there's a reason the best teams still only have winning percentage of .750 (less than that in MLB)

Yes, it would have been nice to have a National Power in the B1G, but it's not like this team has been terrible.  Still totally capable of putting together a strong weekend in the conference tournament and returning to the NCAAs.  (Did anyone look at Purdue's record btw?  How is any D-1 team THAT BAD??)

Finebaum needs his show cancelled

You know, because all of those radio hosts who want to spend more time with their family instead of doing their own investigating, interviewing, and working up the ladder.  All hosts should be relegated to local media only /s

Nope

Just Pratt.

Harbaugh is way ahead of those guys in Alaska

Since I was cheering for the

Since I was cheering for the defense, I cheered every time our defensive backs baited the QBs into throwing at a receiver who appeared open, only to be smothered by the defense /s

More importantly though, remember how early last season Rudock would lock onto a receiver and never make a progression through the entire play?  Obviously Harbaugh got that fixed quick so I'm not too concerned yet that the new QBs are demonstrating the same problem.

I just came here to read the "shot" jokes

Most mocks had him 2nd round

Most places I looked at had him between the 4-7th for his position which projected late first into the 2nd round.  Tackle rankings typically looked like:

Tunsil
Stanley
Conklin
Decker
Clark
Spriggs
Ifedi

You can move any of those guys up/down two spots but before today this is what I was seeing.  I think Spriggs is a mid-first round talent which is why I'd love for the Packers to get him at 27

Spriggs showing out

Indiana's Jason Spriggs has got to be one of the top performers of the day.  31 reps, sub-5.0, as you said and putting up among the best numbers in broad jump.  Would not mind one bit if the Packers grabbed him late in the first round to protect Rodgers.

Freakish Athletes

Looking at these numbers it's astonishing just how freakishly athletic these guys are.  Weigh 300 lbs but still run the 40 in the low 5s and bench press 225lbs 25-30ish times.

Babe Ruth 13U Great Lakes

Babe Ruth 13U Great Lakes Regional Tournament.  Hit a one hopper to the right fielder and got thrown out at 1st Base.  Nearly quit baseball right there.

Took a snowball directly

Took a snowball directly between the eyes in 2010.  Like Danny O'Shea I put myself on the injured list with double vision and blood dripping from my nose.  Whoever launched that snowball from South Quad, well done sir.

ugh

Errant Double post

It seems to me our bigger

It seems to me our bigger matchup issues are against teams who have strong, tough, guard defense, which Xavier does.  Teams that do that eliminate any drives or cutting and that leaves a lot of standing around the perimeter.

Your point is 100% accurate

Your point is 100% accurate about not playing many teams in the 51-100 RPI hurting us.  There are few data points to compare us against other teams in the 7-11 seed range.  With the exception of squeaking out big wins against Maryland and Purdue, we've won games we should have and lost games we should have.  Unfortunately a lot of those losses we weren't even competitive.  I think this paints us as a boring team to the committee and if I'm trying to put together the bracket I may opt for a more high-variance team that could pull some upsets instead of a team like Michigan who seems to be maxed out winning one, maybe two games with hot shooting.

This team needs leaders on the court

Agree with you thatt I would've rather seen this come from Walton/Irvin/Donnal.  While I would stick 2-3 Dakiches(?) on my team anyday, the leadership and toughness needs to come from guys on the court.  I'd love to see one of the older players give someone an earful for some of the blown assignments we've been seeing.  Right now there is too much acceptance of mistakes by their teammates.

I think it's pretty telling that last year, with obviously less talent on the floor after a rash of injuries, we still never went through a 0-28 run like against Indiana.  Last year the lineup of Lonergan, Dakich, MAAR, etc showed me they have too much pride to let that kind of a run happen.

Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter

I will always watch that movie if it's on.

Million Dollar Listing

Talking about the TV show since most movies have been named but there's something awesome about seeing multi-million dollar houses and these uptight dramatic guys selling them.

If that timeline is indeed

If that timeline is indeed the case it's likely a material that was so flammable the sprinkler system couldn't contain it.  As some people said below, it may be an exterior element.

From the videos posted, the fire walls seperating the building into sections appear to be doing their job.  The fire seems to be contained to the center area and bottom 2/3 of the building.  The flames aren't spreading throughout the entire structure, hopefully giving anyone affected a means to escape.

That's the frustrating part.

That's the frustrating part.  MSU's good nonconference win against Oregon is looking a lot better than it did a month ago while in comparison, our loss to Utah is looking worse.  Orgeon was bad when they played MSU.  People are going to forget Oregon's QB was playing with a broken hand, in his 2nd game, and still was a missed wide-open receiver away from winning.  Not to mention their other 2 wins Sparty led for a combined 0 seconds.

So how does that work?  I

So how does that work?  I might have missed this but has it been verified he gets a medical RS from last year?  I know it's assumed but it just seems weird that the conference gives this award to someone listed as a Sophmore on every roster available.

Freshman?

Feels like some Delaney level competency here...

Got in line about 5:00AM last

Got in line about 5:00AM last time and were probably about 75th in line at that point.  Though that was ND, I think you'll need to get there earlier for MSU because Sparty will bring a decent turnout too.

Mel Brooks?

I just noticed a striking similarity to Mel Brooks in the above photos.

Sticker requirements

Does anyone know what the unofficial sticker requirements are?  I ask because I noticed Rudock and the O-line seemed to have about 3-5 stickers each.  Let's just say I couldn't recall that many instances against Utah where that seemed deserved.  If everyone gets 3ish stickers for a not-so-great game, it seems the helmet will fill up awfully fast.
