I felt it here in Lansing. I thought it was some sparties throwing couches in the streets to celebrate graduation.

I wanted to add a ski trip experience of my own just for perspective.
My senior year, my fraternity did our annual ski trip up to the Petoskey area (I'm not a Pike or Chi Psi) and I just so happened to be risk manager that semester. Myself and the ski trip organizer sat down with our executive board and designated a responsible person for each house that we had rented out. This person was in charge of drunk-proofing the house and making sure it was clean and that everyone left by the check-out time. When I got to the house I was in charge of, I took everyone's car keys (even from the stubborn rich kid with an Audi) and hid them so no one could do anything stupid. The worst that happened that weekend was a car accident that was no fault of anyone because the roads were pure ice.

Hmm the only one that really stands out from my college years was this one:
My fraternity brothers occupied a couple of houses down at the corner of State and Hoover my junior year. We paid a homeless guy $20 every game to clean up the cans and empty solo cups because pledges are unreliable at best. About three games into the season, this guy brings his also homeless girlfriend with him to the tailgate where they proceeded to dance on each other on the porch of one of the houses. At one point the woman goes into diabetic shock right on the porch so we call 911. The cops and EMS show up and start asking the homeless guy questions.
Cops: "Does she do any drugs?"
Homeless guy: "Yeah! She smoke crack!"
C:"Did she smoke crack today?"
C: Did she smoke crack yesterday?"
Needless to say this put the final nail in the coffin of our business arrangement with the guy.

It was originally the FIJI rivalry run, where both the UM and OSU chapters would run the ball from the Big House to the Shoe or vice versa. I'm not sure if it still goes on but I'm pretty sure PIKE became involved at some point as well.
Here's a link for those interested: http://www.umich.edu/~phigam/rivalryrun.html

From my understanding the Dekers 50/50 raffles were stopped b/c of an issue with the state lottery, not DB. That being said, I miss the days of the raffles and of course the very friendly Dekers club members.

Couple of my old roommates from senior year lived on the same floor as Denard in West Quad their freshman year. I have always heard nothing but great things about him.
Best story I have is when I was a senior, a bunch of the guys I lived with went to the field hockey field to toss a ball around. On the walk back, they ran into Denard on State St. He turns to my one friend who lived near him in WQuad and says to the rest of them, "Yo man, 90% of the time I saw this kid freshman year he was drunk." Made me crack up laughing just typing this.

I have not had season tickets since I graduated in '12, so I'll go back to that. I was in Section 25, Row 3. Most of the people around us were pretty cool, but two stand out the most.
1. My seating group took up the entire row except the aisle seat, which was some random girl who got tickets by herself. During UTL I she brought some guy down to stand in our row with her, causing all of us to have to be sideways the entire game. My friend was bitching up a storm to her the entire game until she left in the third quarter.
2. Most of us got there 25-30 mins ahead of kickoff to make sure we got our actual seats. Two guys in my seating group were always the last ones to show up to the game, usually about halfway thru the first quarter. During UTL I, the one guy ended up two rows in front of us with a girl he knew and was facing up toward us. This girl's friend was screaming at him to leave their row or that she was going to call the usher over. He just smirked drunkenly, grabbed a handful of popcorn and just shoved it in his mouth. I will never get that image out of my brain.

From what I heard from undergrad friends, AAPD cracked down on Skeeps last year welcome week. Officers were ID'ing people in line instead of the staff because of how notorious that place is. Not sure how it came about but the atmosphere moved more toward the 21+ crowd after that.

I don't like that the stands in general are further away from the glass. That was one of the things I loved about Yost. I do not, however, miss the trash or the wooden stands with nails sticking out. As someone who worked at Yost for all four years of undergrad that was a pain to deal with.

Last Saturday I told myself I wouldn't watch football and focus on hockey's game against Ferris. Unfortunately, the feed on Comcast was so awful I found myself watching more of the football game. I didn't expect much given what we've already seen this season but I found myself, like you, I turned on the game and hoped for a win.

This is what I like about Beilein. Not every player that signs a LOI to play for him is a highly recruited, stud right out of high school. He truly knows how to develop talent and then place that talent into a competitive system.

The few people I know that still support DB and Hoke are playing this game too. I said this the other day on social media and it bears repeating - "Wanting a coaching change does not make me an unloyal fan. It means that I want the players to reach their greatest potential, not rock bottom."

It's stories like this and the obsession over players (ie. Tebow, Favre, LeBron) that cause me to stay away from ESPN. Unfortunately, a 24 hr sports station needs to fill dead time with garbage like this.
