It's not uncommon at all either. Coaches apologize to their team for their game plan or take some form of a "mea culpa" in the press conference all the time. In my opinion it's what good leaders do.
In the OSU game, Evans had 11 carries for 67 yards (6.1 YPC) and Higdon had 11 carries for 55 yards (5.0 YPC), so I'd say they did pretty well in that game. It's important to remove atrocious O'korn self inflicted sacks and FB dives only really needing to get 2 yards (which they did) when assessing the line's performance.

Our last two classes were elite, but the 2014 and 2015 classes were ranked 20th and 37th nationally. The 2015 class is particularly tough, because the top player in the class is no longer with the program (Brian Cole), and the 4th best player is out for the year with injury (Newsome).
The Bama and OSU style reload comes from an elite class every single year, where you always have highly ranked talent entering their upperclassman years. We're not quite there yet.
Yeah, but on those types of plays there is typically a fair amount of stopping, cutting, and maneuvering before breaking into a sub 100 yard sprint. A 200 yard race is in no way representative of that.
The point still stands that there is never a situation where a player would be running in a straight line for more than 100 yards on a football field.
Definite overreaction to the "should have gone for 2" take. Michigan was outgained 137-5 in the 4th quarter. In overtime, it took OSU 2 plays to score and they made it look easy. It took Michigan 7 plays to do the same, coming down to a 4th down play with a razor thin margin for error that they converted. Not very repeatable.
Your team is on the ropes, you're on the road and not getting any calls from the officials, and your injured QB is looking worse and worse as he takes more hits. And you know OSU gets the ball 2nd in the next overtime, which is another disadvantage for Mich. Why wouldn't you want to shorten the game and end it right there? It's true their kicker has missed twice already, but a whole season's worth of data shows he's pretty good.
A pretty convincing argument can be made to go for two.. To dismiss the take as terrible doesn't make sense.

The two things aren't really related. Calling the targeting does nothing to affect MSU properly executing their concussion protocol, it just ejects the player after the fact. The concussion protocol (or lack thereof) directly affects his kid's health.

But if the kid asks for the papers to sign and June and they are not sent, it will be pretty clear what position they are in and they can start to look elsewhere very early in the process. It makes it so coaches can't lead recruits to believe they have a spot for them, when in fact, they don't know if they do.
If employed right, this can be really good for recruits. But some changes need to be made. They basically need to add some clauses to make it really easy for the kid to back out, but not the school.
I would add a laundry list of reasons that recruit can back out of the contract (some are more feasible than others)
1. The head coach is fired or leaves
2. The position coach is fired or leaves
3. His lead recruiter is fired or leaves
4. The recruit encounters extenuating circumstances in their personal life
5. Some predefined number of recruits at the same position of the recruit are signed after the recruit signs
6. ???
This makes it so the kid isn't stuck if something unforseen happens, and also prevents an Erik Swenson type situation from occurring where a recruit gets screwed over by a coach who ends up yanking their offer at the last minute. It will also make it veerrry clear which offers are true offers, and which are "offers", which is an improvement.

My conclusion would have been that Speight had a slightly better arm. Even looking at the Houston highlights, I didn't see many laser throws or instances where he was able to put a lot of mustard on a throw without needing to take extra time to get his whole body into it.
However, many more educated insiders on various sites have said that O'Korn has better arm strength of the two. Shows what I know...

But Nike owns Jumpman, so they are the same entity. It is basically Nike putting an alternate logo of their own on the uniforms. As far as I know, there is no difference to "Jumpman making the uniform" or Nike making the uniform. Same company, same factories, different logo.

On top of that, people who want to "regulate" camps somehow have to reach the conclusion that a coach doing 10 camps (or some other arbitrary number) will not have a negative impact on third parties being introduced, but doing 11 camps will.

MTSU outplayed MSU that one game, sure, but that doesn't suddenly make them a better team. I guarantee Syracuse was thrilled they got that matchup and they would have had a much tougher time against MSU.
So Syracuse would much rather play MTSU, and MTSU probably only beats MSU 1 out of 10 times they play. How would that not be considered lucky for Syracuse? The same goes for several other teams.

Syracuse got a 15 seed instead of a 2. Notre dame got a 14 seed instead of a 3. They played higher seeds due to upsets, not because of how they themselves were seeded. How would you not consider that somewhat lucky? Even Duke getting an 11 instead of a 5 makes for a much easier road.
He also came back the next year and got benched after throwing for only 5.5 YPA and 8 picks with only 6 TDs through 6 games. And this was in the AAC. He's obviously got some work to do, but he has all the tools to be great if he can figure out the mental part of the game
