There was Jim Smith back when a forward pass was rarely thrown. Bo did not do passing except to keep the safeties honest. Smith was a fearless punt/kick off returner. |
| 1 week 5 days ago | Oklahoma has two large cities |
Tulsa and OKC that are producers of D-1 talent along with the talent in military base cities such as Enid. And as already mentioned Dallas and KC are well within driving distance with the St. Louis area not that much farther away. Nebraska is in the middle of nowhere. Most of the out of state students at OU are from the metro areas of Dallas Fort Worth, Houston, KC and St. Louis. Very few came from the metro Toledo area like me. |
| 1 week 6 days ago | that is not a prediction |
but rather a statement of fact. mickey loves his ginger ales. |
| 3 weeks 1 day ago | They were one of the best |
Until WCF bought them. Then they became the worst run pro franchise ever. Jeff Backus is a rare wolverine that survived being drafted by the lions. If the lions had drafted Brady he would be back in Cali selling insurance. |
| 3 weeks 4 days ago | okay, i agree |
the OU fight song is lame. it is a combination of both North Carolina's and Yale's, and out of the three versus, there are only 6 words in total and that is if you count O and U as separate words. Verse 1. Sooner Boomer Verse 2. Oklahoma Verse 3. Go OU

| 3 weeks 4 days ago | yes I am |
and yes they are Crimson and cream. |
| 3 weeks 4 days ago | at least OU is |
Crimson and Cream and not Scarlet and f'ing Grey or just Red and White like three other teams in the Big Ten. |
| 3 weeks 4 days ago | I was at OU |
when they made a concerted effort to get into the AAU. It was a massive fail, since OU's president at that time thought that all he really had to do was to focus on the small things such as changing the university radio from a college format to a classical format to get admittance into the AAU.
the current OU president is a boat load smarter, but it wiould be a challenge for him to get them in, but if they can, he is the dude to make it happen. |
| 6 weeks 2 days ago | Now |
Two hearted while waiting for a seat at the bar to get a pizza here in downtown Plymouth. I'll switch to Oberon when I get home to watch the game. Meechigan beers rule. |
| 7 weeks 1 day ago | Still think that |
the sweater that Morrison is wearing is the best "goldie". I have that one from when you could still get actual ones. Mine still has the tie-down strap.
My number is from someone I know who played back in the day -- a few years after the '48 team. |
| 11 weeks 3 days ago | yup |
and we still got most of the third period penaties. |
| 11 weeks 3 days ago | CCHA head ref: steve piotrowski |
Big Ten head ref: steve piotrowski
same gongshow -- different league. And from one of Pio's former fellow CCHA official buddies -- he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. |

Speculating, then I can see it. But Norman isn't Ann Arbor. While Norman is probably the best city in Oklahoma, it pales in comparison to Ann Arbor. Norman and especially Oklahoma summers just suck out loud. And then there is the red dirt... |
| 12 weeks 5 days ago | just think what his scoring numbers |
would have been if there was a 3pt line during his entire career. |
| 13 weeks 4 days ago | CJ |
haven't you done enough damage in your career? -- The hookers -- The anouncing on ESPN -- The Senate Run
please just step away....
/s <-- just in case it's the real CJ. |
| 14 weeks 3 days ago | Safe haven is near by to toledo |
but it isn't safe by any means. In a grade school in one of the Toledo 'burbs, I bet a nun, the school principal, on the game for two years running back in the mid-70's. I could see the 'primised land' from the gradeschool/jr high it was so close to the border. just don't get to comfortable in the metro-toledo.
good luck with the upcoming bundles of joy. |
| 15 weeks 2 days ago | I'm still trying to forget that turkey |
And I only saw a minute of while channel surfing. One truly awful movie/video. |
| 16 weeks 3 days ago | i miss the energy |
that the hockey pep band brought to a game back in the 90 and very early '00s. during this period, the band provided energy to several tight games. they were so instramental in a few games that they were awarded teh third star of the game (yeah i know, not possible with today's corporate sponsoring). who ever takes over, should bring the energy back to the hockey pep band that has been lacking in the past several years. |
| 17 weeks 3 days ago | AC's jersey |
was called a tear-away jersey. it was designed to tear away so that you could not tackle guys like AC by grabbing the back of their jerseys, which was the part of AC that most defends saw. |
| 17 weeks 3 days ago | yup |
players like AC had many jerseys in reserve. the trend started in the old Big 8 and SEC, and if memory serves, AC was the first michigan play to use them -- Bo was old school on teh topic but saw the need w/AC.
tear-aways were banned shortly there after. |
| 19 weeks 12 hours ago | embedding... |
...and then profit occurs...
the amount of this vid i had to watch to get the embedding code was far too much. it is still very painfull. |
| 22 weeks 6 days ago | let's try this |
see mgoprofit's list about profit |
| 24 weeks 5 days ago | why |
that's the way they roll |
| 26 weeks 6 days ago | they ran a 1-3-1 last night |
on a couple of defensive possessions. long arms make that defense go. |
| 29 weeks 2 days ago | yeah, I remember the cornh..s |
My first inperson introduction to them was during mystudent days at OU, when Barry Switzer was there. Like Meechigan, OU has that instate nuisance, O-State, and an ND, Texas. And then there was Nebraska. I have nothing good to say about them -- period. even to this day, I refer to them by a term that rhymes with their nickname. the note by CounterPunt of Scott Frost's statment didn't surprise me at all; its the way they are.
So there is no love from the Mi Sooner residence for them, but just the utter contempt that i have for them with is close to how I see the twits down south.
Ps. I just got back from a week working down in ohio just outside of C-bus. I still feel dirty. |
| 37 weeks 2 days ago | sad |
but true. |

It's for those who tend towards OState. In Stillwater where the men are men and the sheep are nervous. It's Oklahoma -- what do you expect? This is a state that was the last state to pass the 21st amendment -- in the 50's. They did not have decent alcohol laws until 1984 -- yes I helped with passing those. |
| 38 weeks 6 days ago | Any you guys think I was |
Kidding about escaping from states that begin with the letter O. |
| 39 weeks 6 hours ago | my old CYO did |
