|1 week 3 days ago||if memory serves||
the pesident was "Dollar" Bill Binowski (sp?). yeah, that a$$hole was president when i was there in the early 80's. did nothing for OU; it was all about him. he left OU to run for senate in Texass, lost in the primary, and they allowed him to come back. He was later fired.
|1 week 3 days ago||OU is solid in many areas||
Engineering (Chem, Petroleum), Medicine and hard sciences (Chem, phys, math).
the biggest problem for OU is that it's in Oklahoma, which holds it back. their ChemE department was put on the map in the late 50's and 60's by graduates of Meechigan. one of my dad's ChemE profs at Umich went to kick start the program in the mid 50's.
|1 week 4 days ago||the cap was rediculus||
if memory serves, the cap was 50 tix. were they that afraid that no one would buy tix for this event? they're nuts, even a guy like me understands the chances of ever seeing a game like this again in the area, and i bought 2 tix. Real Madrid and Man U, yeah, I'm seeing that, and I am not a soccer fan.
... in the 150USD zone and ended up in section 4 row 46 -- OUCH.
|1 week 5 days ago||...and that is the scary part||

|4 weeks 5 days ago||it was the 97 frozen four||
i was there. drove from ohio to the game that morning and drove back after the game. one long day for a crappy ending.
thanks for reminding me. at least i still have Cinci 96 frozen four.
|6 weeks 21 hours ago||sure||
near the end of the FYS game, Ebbing threw an elbow at the chin of one of the michigan players at full speed (the may be why he got hit with charging and not elbowing). while the player was down (maybe Di Guissepi), chelios went correy trop on him. crosschecked and slashed him while he was down. IMHO, both should be watching tomorrows game from the stands w/a league sponsered day off, but it wont happen.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||aren't they just indicating||
that he is #1?
|6 weeks 2 days ago||ace||
isn't the reaction of the orange crush section to signify that they too have learned that Nik Staukus is Number 1?
Thanks and RIP to Dandy Don Merideth for that one.
|9 weeks 2 days ago||I would recommend||
Mr fantastic of fantastic four fame. More flexible and and athletic that plastic man.
|11 weeks 3 hours ago||any update on Kevin Lohan?||
i felt much more confortable when he was healthy and back on the blue line.
|11 weeks 9 hours ago||Go figure||
The university of Oklahoma. Go sooners.
|14 weeks 5 days ago||that was the worst||
there were a couple of very cold games during the 70's that were rough, but nothing compares to purdue '95. even that northwestern game in'08 doen't come close.
|14 weeks 5 days ago||on second thought||
the 69 OSU game came close with the temps and precipitation. thankfully the wind was relatively calm.
|14 weeks 6 days ago||you get 80% of your PSD||
as a deduction to your gross income. the final adjusted gross income , with the deduction included, is used to calculate yur michigan taxees. so its in there.
|14 weeks 6 days ago||i didn't buy toilet paper yesterday||
the three rolls in reserve should get me through this little bit o' snow...
why buy more? i never understood this buy of TP either.
|14 weeks 6 days ago||snowblower just came out of the shop and works||
I'm ready for anything it can dish out.
Ps. thre will be NO snowblower action today between 12:00 to 14:00,
|15 weeks 1 day ago||the cinci -- san diego game||
was cold. i thought it was the coldest game up to that point; even colder than the cha,pionship game in green bay back in the '60s.
i agree, that umich -- pudue game just sucked. i left the car and it was snowing. when i was crossing the golf course to the game, it started to sleet.; the rain started when i got to the gate. the wind was from the WNW at a blustery 25mph with gust up to 50mph. the field was still grass/mud at that time, and i remember mercury hayes boy surfing in the puddle along the sidelines near the northeast corner of the stadium.
-- and there is no way that there were even close to 100k there that day; maybe 60k.
|15 weeks 3 days ago||No he wasn't||
Billy Sims was the compensation for hiring good ole Daryl. And of course billy blew out his knee after a few great years thus sending the lions back to the drawing board.
|15 weeks 5 days ago||i tend to agree||
this is how this was done in the past. Unless Mallory gets the HC position that he is looking for and of course if Coach Jackson hangs them up and either takes a job within the Ath Dept or heads out to some retirement location; I still believe there will be no changes.
|17 weeks 10 hours ago||Thanks EM||
That is how I recall the two events.
Also thanks for remembering Excalibur; it was sold shortly after I started working in Southfield. Then the name was changed to Pi, a pizza place, go figure. They sold it to someone else, and now god only knows who owns it now.
|17 weeks 10 hours ago||If we would have gone to a Dallas/Fort Worth game,||
I was going regardless I have friends in the area that I haven't seen in a long time. This would have made the trip justifiable.
|17 weeks 1 day ago||There is a reason that the||
Red river shoot out is held in Dallas every year. There don't want to step into Oklahoma. Nobody wants Oklahoma. If Texass were to succeed they would stick us with Oklahoma.
There is a reason I'm from Oklahoma....
|17 weeks 1 day ago||It's a bit difficult to compare red's issue with that of moeller||
There were about three years difference along with the different situations. Add to that different Ad's -- IIRC. Also moeller's run of 8-4 seasons with top pro talent was making the natives a bit restless. Moeller's incident included a very public melt down while red was caught via video camera taking a leak in one of the parking structures elevators. Everyone was happy that the hockey team no longer sucked out loud, and that the rink was packed -- mostly with loud obnoxious students aided by the pep band.
|17 weeks 1 day ago||It was in Southfield||
Not west Bloomfield. I worked around the corner from the restaurant. It has changed hands several times since the night of too many adult beverages.
|17 weeks 4 days ago||Dude||
It's O-State so that they weren't confused with the buckeyes. Btw we are playing K-State in the bowl.
The term Okie isn't one you want to throw Around; it isn't looked upon favorably. Guns are usually in involved to make corrections. O-State does go by the nickname. Cowpokes. Feel free to use the obvious change. We all did at OU.
|17 weeks 4 days ago||nope||
Michichgan has had players on either the US or Canadian WJ teams since sometime in the early 90's. i think that Botterill was on for t3/4 years he was here (coldn't play his senior year; he was too old). Tamer and Ward played also IIRC.
since the there may have been a year or two where at least one play was at the WJ's.
|18 weeks 1 day ago||If you add the restiction that he can lift it||
No. He cannot roll a joint too big that he couldn't smoke it.
