Ha, I think that Justin…

Ha, I think that Justin Joyner will be very invested in taking Mahaney assuming they can get him to visit.

Johnell seems like a serious longshot at this point. Potentially doesn't have the credits to graduate and might have priced himself entirely out of college hoops.

You nailed it.Two grads …

You nailed it.

  • Two grads (Jones & Goldin*)
  • Two rising juniors (Wold & Gayle)
  • One rising sophomore (Walters)

Michigan is also hard after rising junior Aidan Mahaney, a G from Saint Mary's. Love the roster balance that Dusty is achieving with these portal adds. Turning next season's roster into a winner almost overnight while not just relying on grads and mortgaging the following season.

BREAKING: Alabama transfer…
Seems like there was a…

Seems like there was a planned rollout of commitments, starting with Pippen and Jones on Friday, Wolf on Saturday, and Donaldson on Sunday.

Hopefully this means Goldin drops either later today or Tuesday!

Then get Mahaney out of Omaha without a commitment (he posted Sunday on Instagram that he was there) and bring him to A2 and close the deal.

but he made a genuine apology

Unless you think apologies are just be excuses by another name, I'd hardly call that genuine or sincere.

He made that entire "apology" about him and his "quirks" or whatever and how he's just an aw shucks silly guy. Hardly sincere, IMO.

Also, he's had lots of very bad opinions over the years and has written a lot of really stupid stuff. Him getting called out should've happened a long time ago.

The boomerang transfer is…

The boomerang transfer is rare overall but a little more common in hoops. This article, though a few years old now, mentions 13 "notable" players in 2022 that were playing at a previous school in -- the implication being that this is just a sampling of the overall figure.

I want to say I recall reading somewhere that Weiss was trying to find evidence of tampering by former player(s) in the transfer portal, but I could be completely making that up.

Both sides kinda seemed to be sick of one another, so this is basically a parachute for Enfield to start over in Dallas.

Freshmen can get in without issue and there seems to be optimism with sophomores now, too. Michigan has reached out to a few this cycle.

I’d be down for May to keep an assistant or two, mainly Martelli, if just for continuity sake.

I could see a few support staff guys staying, but really, why would you want to keep anyone of consequence from a program that was 14 games under .500 over the past two seasons? Time for clean house.

It wasn't that long ago he…

It wasn't that long ago he went to the Sweet 16 or better 7 times in 8 years.

That streak, while impressive, ended nine years ago. The college basketball landscape has changed a lot since then and Izzo has not adapted. Over the past eight tournaments (no NCAAT in 2020), his teams made it out of the first weekend twice: 2019's FF run and last season.

Izzo isn't a mediocre coach overall but I'd argue he's been replacement-level for at least the last four seasons.

That's definitely a good thing.

Dickinson announced he was…

Dickinson announced he was transferring about a week before Love committed to Michigan. I don't think the two were related. I do think it was him no longer believing that Michigan could win and the lack of NIL that he got.

Dickinson leaves March 31:

He wasn't going to resign. The only way he wasn't going to be the coach was if they fired him.

Michigan should not be…

Michigan should not be giving more chances to guys without experience running a college program.

While it's true OSU played better under Diebler, they also experienced dramatic 3-point luck. Other than their loss to Minnesota, their opponents have been missing all their 3s.

In conclusion, Ross Bjork continues to be a dummy. Surprised he didn't give Diebler a 10-year, $95 million contract. That's his go-to.

I think there is a very,…

I think there is a very, very low chance of this happening. I can't see Howard walking away voluntarily nor can I see him leaving a bunch of money on the table. He's either getting fired or he's going to be retained as the ultimate lame duck.

If you're an Office fan it's worth it just for the Superfan episodes.

In what I am guessing is not…

In what I am guessing is not a coincidence, about two hours ago the Michigan Football Facebook page posted four photos of Q Johnson's hit on Egbuka, with no additional context.

It's true they're on a roll…

It's true they're on a roll with Diebler, but OSU might also have to hire him full time now, and unless he's a Brad Stevens type it's likely his ceiling will top out at what Holtmann was already doing. I guess we'll see, but it's a pretty big risk to be a program like OSU handing over the reigns to someone with zero high major HC experience.

And yes, I see the parallels with Michigan and Sherrone Moore, but at the time of Harbaugh's departure, there was really no other choice than to elevate Moore. OSU thought they would get a spot at the front of the coaching line, but it's looking like they may not even be a player.

Alabama is projected as a 4…

Alabama is projected as a 4 seed...definitely not on the bubble. Their record may look a little wonky but that's because they played the second toughest schedule in the country (Michigan is #1).

Bacon doesn't know anything about the basketball program (or really the football program). Can we stop parroting everything he says as gospel?

Bench mobs only have…

Bench mobs only have something to do if your team consistently wins games.

But your larger point is quite valid. There is zero energy around the program. Everyone looks medicated.

When said "kid" is a 22-year-old scholarship athlete (whether or not he deserved that schollie is another story...okay, he didn't).

If Juwan Howard can't handle someone rightfully calling out his son being a jerk, then he probably shouldn't be coaching said son (and we already have data that shows he basically let Jett do whatever he wanted with no repercussions)...or maybe not coaching at all at the college level.

I think you're kidding but I…

I think you're kidding, but I'll just say that Bacon doesn't know anything about the basketball program.
