College basketball referees work under a national umbrella and officiate games for many conferences. It is not like in football. This notion that Michigan will begin to get favorable calls once they start playing NCAA Tournament games because it will not be Big Ten refs is inaccurate. Michigan may get a ref they haven't seen before but I bet they will also see someone that routinely calls Big Ten games. The more consistent whistle will probably come from the games being played a neutral site where home crowd emotion isn't a factor.

I don't know what the RAC looks like in person but on TV it always looks like a dump. The shitty BTN production quality probably didn't help, either.
|4 days 13 hours ago||And yet last year Michigan||
And yet last year Michigan outrebounded Purdue despite the Boilers being a significantly better team on the glass.
|4 days 14 hours ago||Correct||
The tournament is a week earlier than normal to accomodate the Big East's use of MSG during the traditional "championship week" time period.
EDIT: Already noted by Desmondo.
|5 days 6 hours ago||The game was actually at MSG||
The game was actually at MSG (part of the bball/hockey Big Ten Day or whatever they call it) but your greater point stands that Rutgers, while definitely not even an average team, plays hard despite their lack of talent.

Have to believe Charles Matthews will be a starter with Duncan coming off the bench.
|6 days 33 min ago||Northwestern||
Northwestern has always been a tough out for Michigan at Welsh-Ryan.

Think it could have just been re-titled to "Anonymous Big Ten Coach Discusses Michigan's Weaknesses" or something like that and left on the board.

C'mon, FauxMo, you're better than that...
(Unless you meant to downvote in which case I agree.)
|6 days 11 hours ago||"Michigan is deff not like those other teams"||
You're right, Michigan hasn't lost four in a row and six of eight like Virginia.

I jumped so high I about hit the ceiling when that went uncalled right in front of that ref. What a coward.

OSU's season is going to end when they lose in their first round B10 Tourney game.
Hey, Thad, maybe it wasn't the guys you pushed off the team after last season. Maybe it's you...

Calhoun has some decent insights but good grief they need to provide captions when he's talking.

I was like, "Oh man, Wisconsin's defense is terrible. Wait, what?!"
|1 week 4 days ago||Wisconsin offense/defense efficiencies||
Think something got goofed in translation for those Wisconsin efficiency numbers. I'm seeing 106.2 for their offense and 94.5 for their D.

|1 week 4 days ago||What||
|1 week 4 days ago||Showalter||
Zak Showalter will probably play more tonight and could get some run at the point to spell Trice. He's been deadly in conference play (65 2%/43 3%/85 FT%) in an albeit small usage (13.2%).
|1 week 4 days ago||Trice||
His conference-only numbers on KenPom are ghastly, which of course means he'll blow up tonight.
|1 week 4 days ago||Look deeper||
Trice is hitting 46% (24/52) for the season but only 27% (6/22) in league play, which means he hit a ridiculous 18/30 in non-conference.

|1 week 5 days ago||Nope||
Don't give a fuck what Paul Finebaum has to say.
|1 week 5 days ago||Fun fact||
Under John Beilein, Michigan is 13-3 against the Gophers, including 6-1 at the Barn (lone loss came in 2008, JB's first year).

Pretty certain that someone verified in another thread that the trademark was owned by WMU and not Fleck.
|1 week 5 days ago||One more autobid and two more at-large||
In the days of 65 teams, there were 31 autobids and 34 at-large selections. These days there are 32 autobids and 36 at-large selections.
So, I still think in one of those years Michigan would have gotten a First Four invite.
|1 week 5 days ago||I don't think that is the||
I don't think that is the case anymore with respect to the committee only considering RPI. Believe they now look at several ranking systems.

|1 week 6 days ago||RE: "do not watch closely" on DJ's block||
The refs have missed a few instances of DJ touching the ball a split-second after it hits the backboard. Off the top of my head I can think of at least one occurence in both IU games and the MSU bludgeoning.
|1 week 6 days ago||Hard to tell||
Michigan had some bad losses in 2003. Starting the season 0-6 surely wouldn't have helped things.
|1 week 6 days ago||First Four||
I have to think that Michigan would have been a First Four participant in 2006 and/or 2007.
Ugh, that 2007 OSU game.
|1 week 6 days ago||??||
I must be missing the context for this statement. Yeah, Furman has a nice record (19-8, 17-8 vs. D1), but they're only #89 per KenPom. They'd be Michigan's ninth-best victory (just ahead of Nebraska at #91). Now, if he's saying that they need to schedule more teams like Furman that end up in the top-100, I wholeheartedly agree.
BTW, IU is #49 per KP.
