Let's ask the captains. I'm sure they're on top of it.
|29 min 26 sec ago||I'm not a mod or anything but||
I'm not a mod or anything but sure, go ahead-fire when ready soldier. I'm sure it'll be just fine.
I mean it's in a thread with more than a bit of political undertones. What could possibly go wrong?
|31 min 20 sec ago||Exactly. Now we seem to be||
Exactly. Now we seem to be searching for the area directly below the lowest spot below the area right underneath and just a bit under rock bottom.
I cant wait to find out what tomorrow might bring.
|1 hour 41 min ago||Money quote||
"On Monday afternoon, Brandon allowed his head football coach to step to a press conference podium in an absolute no-win situation. Hoke was unprepared, unsupported and left there to face live bullets.
On Monday afternoon, Brandon threw Hoke -- a man he hired in 2011 -- under the bus, and hung him out to dry."
This is what is so galling to me. As somebody who's spent his entire adult life in management this is what has absolute struck me about Brandon during this episode. His cowardly abdication of any visable support of Hoke and his leaving him on an island to fend for himself. It's wrong.
If you feel that strongly that what Hoke did was wrong grow a pair and fire him. Dont torture the guy by making him look like an absolute idiot in front of the entire country like he did yesterday. Can you imagine just how much Hoke must've DREADED getting up there knowing what was coming? And can you imagine how embarrassed and humiliated he must've felt after he learned what was coming out in Brandon's letter?
Look I want the guy fired like everybody else. But i dont think he deserves to be fucking put through the wringer emotionally on his way out. It's not fair to him and it's not fair to the team itself.
|1 hour 58 min ago||This actually pisses me off||
This actually pisses me off even more. As a father it breaks my heart to think that this kid, who would fucking take a bullet for Michigan, got put in a position to fail, wasnt protected by his Head Coach, and now feels responsible for the shit storm that he had nothing to do with creating.
He reminds of when you hear kids apologizing for their parents divorce. It's heartbreaking.

That's a fantastic letter OP. Well written and you can tell it was written from the heart. Whether he reads it or not is not under your control obviously but I think you did a great job articulating what you and thousands of us are feeling right now.
|2 hours 52 min ago||So did anybody follow up on||
So did anybody follow up on the "I didnt talk to Brandon" comment yesterday? Or did Hoke simply say "Oh.......you meant THAT Dave Brandon. My bad. I thought you fellas were asking about a different Dave Brandon. Sorry!"
|2 hours 55 min ago||Yes he is||
It just might not be from Brandon. DB's replacement might be doing that dirty work.
|3 hours 27 min ago||This^||
I think this might be the second time in almost five years I've said "this" but THIS.
Well said Dragonchild. Extremely well said.
|5 hours 3 min ago||Not worthy of it's own post||
Not worthy of it's own post IMO but Mike & Mike spent about 15 minutes on it this morning (again) with the general consensus that Hoke fucked up because Morris must've lied to him about his head not being hurt and that it wasnt that big of a deal really but it's become one cause Michigan sucks so bad right now and everybody's pissed/unhappy with Hoke and the team's record.
This baby is NOT going away anytime soon.
|5 hours 7 min ago||You are absolutely||
You are absolutely right.
"University spokesman Rick Fitzgerald said Schlissel would be involved in a communications meeting Tuesday morning, and that the handling of the Morris situation will be discussed"
That's all that's happening. That's not a BOR meeting to the best of my knowledge.
|5 hours 10 min ago||Given that it was my comment||
Given that it was my comment on the head injury that he initially responded to questioning whether there really WAS a concussion or not and given that he dearly loves to nit-pick and be critical of virtually everything I post I find the irony in Brandon's admission of Shane's injury last night most amusing.
Not that I think it will change anything but maybe, just maybe, he wont' have a knee-jerk reaction to criticize/question every single thing I post going forward.
|15 hours 23 min ago||You or I can do way better||
You or I can do way better than the Raiders. That's a football organization that Hoke & Brandon can feel superior to.
BTW - I've never heard of Dennis Allen before just now and only know him cause he's the ex-head coach of the Raiders.
So........can we hire him?
|15 hours 29 min ago||(No subject)||
|15 hours 56 min ago||Yes he should No that's not||
Yes he should
No that's not their job (although they did try to "encourage" Hoke to take a time out it seems)
Now that i've answered your questions I've got one for you. Did you really think this post all the way through before hitting the "save" button? I mean, this question has been asked (and answered) and 500 times today in 50 different threads so I'm trying to figure out exactly why you created this.
Did you just wake up or something?

I think I'm starting to miss Al Timmmmaay. Good times.
|21 hours 47 min ago||Well he is a man. And I'm||
Well he is a man.
And I'm pretty sure he's 40.
So he's got that going for him if nothing else.
|22 hours 3 min ago||Allegedly. Granted it would||
Granted it would be a very, very wonderful thing if true but until it happens I'm not getting my hopes up.
|22 hours 6 min ago||Everytime I think MIchigan||
Everytime I think MIchigan football has hit rock bottom and cant go any lower we find a way to push the needle downward even more.
Everytime I think the threads cant get any more ridiculous I'm proven wrong on that one too.
|22 hours 15 min ago||I actually feel a bit bad for||
I actually feel a bit bad for Hoke on this one. As much as I want him fired immediately his boss, the guy who hand-picked him to lead the program and has not publically indicated any change from his initial assessment, has deserted him and left him to face this shit-storn alone and that's just not right.
Hoke may be a complete idiot but he's YOUR complete idiot Dave and the humane thing to do right now is stand by him and not leave him to twist in the wind alone. As the saying goes "adversity doesnt mold character, it reveals it."

Every one of these stories makes me think of a chubby, pimply-face high school kid getting his hopes all up cause Verlander got into an arguement with Upton.

Countdown to first post blaming negative posters and this blog for this news and not the shitstorm the recruits watched on Saturday and continuing through today.
|23 hours 7 min ago||I'll be watching the game.||
I'll be watching the game. But when the wheels go off the wagon (again) and we look terrible on the road (again) and most likely lose (again) I wont be NEARLY as pissed off or upset as I once was. I'll prolly shake my head and wonder how long Hoke's going to stay on and then go do something else.
I do have to say Hoke/Brandon have done a wonderful job of curing me of my irrational emotional involvement in the success of the football team.
|23 hours 54 min ago||Don't take it out on the kids.||
Damn right. Who do you guys think you are - coaches or something? That's their job.
|1 day 46 min ago||Here's how...||
"Son - you look like somebody who will fit right in here at Ohio University. The Bobcats have a proud tradition of developing long-snappers and we think you're the next great one for sure."
|1 day 1 hour ago||Let me see if I understand||
Let me see if I understand Hoke on this one. Morris is expected to tell somebody he wants to come out but Devin is told to "stop limping" in last year's OSU game because "nobody needs to see that".
So basically under Hoke your a pussy if you limp with a broken fucking foot and you're suppose to self-diagnose concussions? I wonder if Hoke told Morris on Saturday to "stop blinking and walking like your drunk because nobody wants to see that."
|1 day 4 hours ago||That's fantastic. Great job||
That's fantastic. Great job - let us know if you get a call back.
I'll be shocked it you do but you never know.

|1 day 5 hours ago||Yes we know. His leg injury||
Yes we know. His leg injury was deemed to be not that serious. Because it was just his leg that was hurt and after evaluating his leg they determined he could no more damage to his leg by playing. I know watching it on TV the announcers were absolutely horrified at first that Hoke would leave Morris in the game due to the potential long term damage Shane could do to his leg. And the reason the national media has picked up this story and is running with it on both sports and traditional news broadcasts is because of the national outcry and worry over football players leg injuries.
Because it was his leg.
