True Bernie story. Back in 2004 I got invited to meet then President George Bush at a private party held by a local guy (Fedeli) to raise money for the party. Now, I dont care what your politics are if you are meeting the POTUS you dress and act appropriately so I and about 49 other people had suits on. Not Bernie.
He showed up in jeans, old sneakers and a ratty sports coat with those patches on the elbows that went out of style before I left college in 81. And he had a few too many cocktails too so needless to say he stood out in a way you really do NOT want to given the audience.
What was amazing to me as well was Bernie wasnt real nice to talk to either. He had a major "celebrity" attitude which was equally out of place given the setting and he wouldnt talk to anybody. So I might be the only hard-core Browns fan who doesnt have a real high opinion of Mr Kosar.

And it's not even close IMO. I've owned three GTOs: 70 455 convertible, 65 389 Tri-Power Hardtop & 2004 so I'm a bit biased.
Spent much of my youth cruising Woodward in the 70 which had more torque than a tractor IMO but lacked a bit of mid-range quickness. I blew the engine in it and dropped a RamAir III in it which taught me a LOT about swapping engines to say the least
The 65 was a present to myself and was one of the prettiest & quickest cars I've ever owned. Had a 411 rear end so I had to get out of first gear at about 28 MPH, the top end was only around 100 and my daughter said it hurt her neck when I shifted!
The 2004 was quick, fun but at the end of the day it wasnt a real GTO and they screwed up the styling which hurt the rebranding. Was a cool car though.
FYI - these arent actual pics of my cars but mine were identical to these except my 65 had a black interior, not white and my 2004 had aftermarket rims & a 69 GTO replica hood which was pretty damn cool. The dealer made posters of it!

Sorry Moe but this doesnt even crack the Top 10 worst moments on the board. Apparently you havent been inside one of the basketball threads when people start calling for Beilein to be fired after a player makes an ill-advised pass or misses a crucial shot. Those are fun.
And trust me - all the Harbaugh love will go straight out the window the split second a player makes a boneheaded play that costs us a game.

I'm so gonna report on the shit going down at UAB. I'm gonna write it up with some of my own special flavor and make it such a cool read.

I knew I always liked that dude (his jumping antics in the 2013 game notwithstanding). He has the stones to show up and speak at Jimmy's camp which is more than we can say for the SEC pussy's down south.

I sat for almost 25 years in Section 5 before moving in 2009. Two in row 63 & four in row 36. Not a bad view (once you get used to looking at everything on an angle) but you sit kity-corner from the students so you'll need to really bring it during the GO - - - BLUE chants to keep up with them.
One oddity - lines would always be long at Section's 4, 3 & 2 before the game but we in Section 5 always sailed right in. I know we had GREAT ushers so maybe that's why cause I dont think there was any differece in the number of people trying to get in.

Did anybody else notice the last batter for LSU was crying while in the batter's box BEFORE she made the last out? I thought that was pretty amazing - they had a runner on base so the tying run was on deck. It's not coming back in that situation would be one for the ages.

Posts like these remind me when you visit a friend's house and they make a very elaborate & fancy meal that unfortunately tastes like absolute shit. You know you have to be encouraging cause they put a LOT of work into the preparation and cooking but unfortunately it just didnt turn out the way the cook hoped.
So you grab your water, wash down whatever you can and finish what's on your plate hoping your host (who is watching your every bite nervously asking "do you really like it?) won't notice the face you cant help but make every time your taste buds make contact with what's in your mouth.
So with that in mind.....you worked really hard on this one OP. You're a good, hard worker!

Great analogy - 100%. I admit I was one of the guys who tossed away ALL by Lebron gear (no I didnt burn anything) and rooted like Hell AGAINST the Heat every year he was there. And I think Lebron knew, deep down, that he handled his departure poorly and it bothered him which is one reason he's so driven to come home and bring Cleveland a long awaited title. And yes I'm cheering like crazy for him now.
See that's the only part of your analogy that's missing. You have to include that when the Harbaugh in your story leaves he suddenly starts winning the big game and brings his new team home the title that Michigan always missed out on. That's what hurt even worse here and it's why we are so hopeful that THIS year...with THIS team...things will finally change.

I would bet anything if the referees had seen this and made the appropriate call Cleveland would've lost the series and Blatt would've been fired, not Thibs. And this is coming from a hard-core Cavs fan

To this day my brother blames me for the 88 Miami loss. I got as wasted as I've ever been that game (I think i smuggled in a pint of wiskey and tried to finish it) and somewhere around the 3rd quarter I spilled nachos on myself and made a huge mess in the stands. On the way out I fell down the slope off stadium where it crossed the RR tracks and damn near killed myself. Thankfully he drove us home and I spent the night at his house in Commerce Lake and didnt try and drive back to Cleveland.
The next morning I woke up and sincerely thought we had won the game as the last thing I remembered was being up 30 to something and Miami looking terrible. He had to show me a newspaper before I believed him we had somehow lost that game and he was convinced that if hadnt been for my drunken hijinks Michigan would've somehow won.
|5 days 4 hours ago||And i sincerely hope that||
And i sincerely hope that each and every person does as you guys have done and re-ups. A full stadium is not only more fun, it helps the team so make no mistake - it would make me very happy to learn I'm a severe outlier and representative of something larger.
But I just find this offer odd if there's a surplus of demand. I know in the 27 years I had season tickets (2 on the 30 - 4 on the 20) I never got an offer like this nor did I ever hear of anyone getting this opportunity.

|5 days 4 hours ago||I wondered about this. I've||
I wondered about this. I've got to believe that there are a lot of people like me who, as excited as I am about Harbaugh coming back, have gotten out of the habit of going to games and have replaced that time with other activities. I discovered last year that my couch, TV and nearby refrigerator make a fairly adequate substitue for the gameday experience and I really dont see myself rushing to go back to the Big House anytime soon.
I really wonder just how much permanent damage Brandon did to the fanbase. I'm just a 55 year old out-of-towner who's best attending days are behind me. But we've got entire student bodies that didnt embrace going to games while they were at school - how in the hell are they going be compelled to attend now that they're gone?
|5 days 4 hours ago||Is that so?||
Here’s another little known fact. Posters with the name Kehnonymous are almost always lying, cheating, sweaty, unattractive LOSERS who hang out in their mom’s basement and don’t own billion dollar home loan companies like successful guys like me. I vow to the readers of this blog that my Cavs will win not one, not two, not three, not four, not five but SIX championships before the Lakers even sniff a playoff berth again.
ps: This stupid blog over-rode my comic sans script i chose especially for this post and reverted it to a BORING New Times Roman.

Here's a fun fact. I actually went to grade school with Madonna or as she was known then, Madonna Ciccone. She was in Mr Whited class and I was in Miss Martin's class at good, old Webster Elementary on Huron St in lovely Pontiac, Michigan. We both lived in Indian Village ( I grew up on Ottawa Dr and she lived off Chippewa I think) and my mom was somewhat friends with her mom.

Oh thank GOD a new clothing thread. Finally we get a chance to discuss Nike V Adidas, the relative merits of Under Armor and how the rest of the shoe industry is faring. I mean it seems like it's been hours since we've had a fresh take on this issue and lord knows I cant go that long without getting the vapors.

Good thinking. If I see them at the game I'll make sure to let Elvis Grbac, Desmond Howard, John Kolesar, Charles Woodson, Andy Cannavino, Ed Muransky, Kyle Kalis, Ben Gedeon and all the rest of the OSU lovers from this area know how much you want them to suffer.

Cavs in 7. And I'll be at all the games in C-town screaming my head off hoping to end this 50 year curse. We will win by controlling the glass and keeping Curry & Co to one shot-just like we did to Atlanta. And our new physical style of play (side benefit of losing Love and inserting TT into the starting line-up) matches up well with the Warriors. I do agree that Kyrie's health is the X factor and I he can't go we're in trouble.

Happened to me too. "Dad" started negotiating on behalf of his son about 2/3 of the way into the process. Needless-to-say that represented the end of the negotiations on my end and I was happy to inform both dad & his son that I had zero point zero interest in hiring anybody that wanted me to speak to his father on his behalf.
I thought I was the outlier. Good to know there are other insane parents besides the one I had to deal with. Or maybe it was the same guy......

You're fine. I live just south of Cleveland and have a Michigan Alumni Association sticker on my car along with a MGoBlue licence plate frame and have never had any problems other than a few "Michigan sucks" drive-by shoutings.
Now if your plates were something like OSUSUCKS then you might have something to worry about it.
