|2 days 7 hours ago||This broke last night locally||
Carl Monday, a Cleveland investigative reporter, broke the story absent Conley's name late last night. He identified him as a "likely high first round pick" which unfortunately meant it could be one of three different Buckeyes but no names were being released.
FWIW he is absolutely and categorically denying that any part of this story is true. Obviously none of us know a thing right now but her story sure seems pretty far-fetched to me.

Some of you LOSERS spend way, way too much time here. It's pretty apparent to me that you guys either have no life or no sense of balance in your life. Either way - those posters who are seemingly always here and in every thread really need to re-evaluate their life priorities. No telling what somebody who's obbessed with this place might do in real life.
Good thing for them I'm here to keep an eye on things.
|3 days 5 hours ago||Why do I assume that?||
For the exact same reason the NFL assumes that. Because the likelyhood (not fact - likelyhood) is that is why the test was diluted. Odds are much better that a diluted test is an indication of an attempt to mask a result than it is an honest mistake.
Look, the NFLPA and Owners collectively agreed this to be the case. Dont blame me cause both parties agreed on this point. A diluted test is treated as a positive one - ask yourself if you think I'm being unfair "why did both the players AND the owners agree to this?"
If we can be honest with ourselves for just a minute if the diluted test results were for any of the OSU players in the draft and they said "I just over-hydrated" how many people here would believe it?
I think the number rhymes with hero. Same as the number of people outside of our little maize n blue world who believed Peppers when they heard Peppers explanation for it.
|3 days 6 hours ago||Kinda ironic actually||
From the very beginning my dream draft for the Browns went Garrett at #1, Trubisky (or whichever QB they like) at #12 and Peppers at #33.
If he falls out of round 1 I'd LOVE to see the Browns grab him to start the second round.
|3 days 6 hours ago||Hope you're right but I doubt it||
Latest mock by Charlie Casserly of NFL.com has dropped him out of round 1 as have several others I've seen posted today locally here in Cleveland.
|3 days 6 hours ago||Fair enough||
You are absolutely right when you say we have no way of knowing if the dilution was due to drining too much water to try and mask something or simply over-hydration.
But the fact remains the NFL doesnt give two shits and treats the test as a positive. Not me, the NFL.
And let me ask you a question. When you heard Reuben Foster tested positive for a diluted sample was your first thought "oh...I bet he just over-hydrated" or did you think he was trying to hide someting?
|3 days 7 hours ago||From here||
"The latest comes courtesy of Ian Rapoport. Foster told him that he failed a drug test at the NFL Combine due to a diluted sample. The NFL’s substance abuse policy treats a diluted sample the same as a positive test. This means he will be enrolled in the NFL’s substance abuse program upon being drafted. That means increased testing and stiffer penalties for failing future tests."
The rule is the same for Peppers as Foster.
|3 days 7 hours ago||This is NOT good||
It means Jabril will enter the NFL drug program as a first time offender cause the NFL views a diluted sample the same as a positive test. As Michigan4lfe accurately projects IMO this kills any chance he had at round1 IMO.
So fucking STUPID. You know you're going to get tested and you do it anyways. And please, not the place for the pro/anti pot law debate (I'm pro legalizing if anybody gives a shit). If you know your soon-to-be boss is going to test - YOU STOP SMOKING POT FOR A WHILE.
|3 days 7 hours ago||My brush with Jake||
In 2006 my brother and our whole tailgate crew went to South Bend to watch the ND game. We got a spot on somebody's lawn on the street directly accross from the stadium and down the block from "Linebackers".
About an hour after we set up a car showed up and parked next to us with a tiny Lapeer 77 in the rear windown so I asked the couple were they related to Jake. The lady said yes - we're his parents! Next thing I know Mrs Long was on the phone giving directions to somebody and was asking us for coordinates (pre-smart phone GPS) and when I asked her who else was coming she said Garret Rivas's dad (he apparently went to all the games and was hillarious - smoked a HUGE cigar the whole afternoon) and the Henne's. Needless to say this was way beyond cool to me and I asked Mrs Long (sorry cant remember her first name) if the players were going to come by after the game and she said if they could, they would.
So we have a great afternoon of kicking Irish ass, the weather was fantastic and later when we got back to our tailgate for some celebratory beers all three players showed up to say hi to their folks and we got introduced to everybody.
Oh....and on the other side of our tailgate was a guy selling smoked BBQ that would trade sandwiches for beer and the local radio station was also playing music on a remote with the BBQ guy.
It was the best road tailgate ever!

Not even close. I'm guessing you missed WD telling us he has to have Friday's off from work during football season to get mentally prepared for the game on Saturday.

Harbaugh + Religion + MSU scandal = Disaster (IMO)
|6 days 8 hours ago||You got one wrong at least||
That game against the Browns you've got penciled in for a W. Pretty sure my soon to be 16-0 Brownies cant go 16-0 if we lose that game so you'll need to flip that to an L
|6 days 9 hours ago||Not a chance in hell||
Dantonio would have to be accused and probably convicted himself of one of these crimes to get fired at MSU. He is the best cocah they've had since Duffy Daugherty, beat us more times in a row than any MSU coach in history and outside of last year had the Spartans in the national conversation as a semi-elite team.
If he goes 3-9 again this year and loses to us the rumblings will start but fired over this? No way.
|6 days 10 hours ago||Speaking of politics||
Anybody heard from Section 1 lately? That dude could turn a Friday watcha drinking thread into a four paragraph deep dive into thel de-evolution of society norms caused by Title IX enforcement policies.
|1 week 8 hours ago||Medical||
Part owner of a company that produces a medical device surgeons use and we support the cases intra-operatively. Random drug testing is in place for everyone (me included) and if somebody comes up dirty they lose their credentialling and access to the OR.
Not worth it so I'll just reminisce and take shit from you guys for being a pussy.
An employed pussy but a pussy none-the-less.
|1 week 8 hours ago||Why stop?||
Random drug testing at work. And I like my job.

I DO miss getting high. I miss the sound of music when high (always awesome), the taste of food when high (also awesome just never enough of it) and I miss jokes when high cause everything and everybody is hillarious. And i miss sex when high.
To be clear sex is always awesome but if memory serives it's especially awesome when high.
I smoked a TON of pot from 1975-1981 but I think the last time I got stoned was about 15-20 years ago.

I'm an old white guy and dont do any of those things. Nor do any (to the best of knowledge) other old white guy friends. And I have a lot of old white guy friends.
Actually I find it to be quite the opposite. I find myself getting less rigid in my thinking as I get older and far less sure of my position on virtually any issue. This one included.
Do I like Kap sitting during the anthem? Not particlarly. Do I care a whole bunch? Not particularly. Do I understand why he feels the way he does? I think I do - doesnt mean I agree with his actions but I understand his frustrations. And lastly, would I love him in a Browns uniform? You bet I would.
Dont generalize - you're better than that.
|1 week 11 hours ago||It's still a free country||
And Kap has a right to sit during the national anthem in protest of what he believes to be injustice. Nobody can or should force him to stand.
And NFL teams have the right to not sign him as their QB because they dont agree with his protest and/or dont want all the baggage signing him would bring. Nobody can or should force them to sign him.
|1 week 13 hours ago||Seconded||
When I was in school we'd grab lunch trays from South Quad and go sledding down the aisles in the winter. We'd build up ramps in the snow to go flying out onto the field. And we'd play snow football on the field itself.

I knew immediately what you meant regarding the jury not "getting it wrong" and agree with you. Terrible prosecution that was dead in the water once their star witness's text messages were read to the jury. I was simply trying to head off the "but he was aquitted in the double homicide" responses.
|1 week 1 day ago||Adam Schefter gave a nice eulogy to the scumbag||
Watching ESPN this morning and they led with this story (obviously) as soon as it broke at 7:00am. They had a long interview with Schefter and if you didnt know better you'd swear Hernandez was somehow the victim in this situaion and his suicide was the sad outcome of a person who simply a product of horrible circumstances he couldnt overcome.
He described the situation as "tragic" and said (paraphrasing here) that "no matter how hard Hernandez tried to escape his demons he was always dragged back into the gang life" which is complete and utter bullshit. There is 0.0 evidence that Hernandez tried to "escape" anything associated with thug life, rather he embraced it and ran TOWARDS it, not away.
Fuck him. Sorry he's a cold-blooded killer who executed two men for the crime of spilling a drink on him (sorry jury - you got it wrong) and then killed the one man who knew about it to keep him quiet.

Word on the street is B Cook has a sweet, sweet fix in place that will make everything much more better.
Here's me waiting for it.
|1 week 2 days ago||Accountability - where is it?||
I find it facinating that the NCAA can seemingly operate without the faintest whiff of accountability for poor decision-making year after year afer year year. The same idiots who screwed up the formatting in the first place are still in charge, still making decisions and the fact that they can look at "crowds" such as this and not feel they've made a terrible mistake is mind-boggling to me.

I'm on two Boards and it works great. Easy to use and reference and solves the exact problem you're having regarding documentation and referencing of past events.
And being 57 I'm pretty close to the top end of of mcd2005's date range and can attest he's right.
|1 week 3 days ago||I was there and left happy||
And I'll be there again tonight. BTW - ask the Boston & Toronto fans if they'd like to trade for our crappy win.
And seriously Golden State "Defend our Ground"???? Not too terribly much IDENTICAL TO OUR "Defend the Land" slogan. Common guys...at least TRY and make it look original.
|1 week 3 days ago||Some pretty sweet posts on the board today-sheesh||
I know what would brighten everybody's day and put the entire board in a good mood.
You guys are hoping I'll start a Cavs NBA playoff thread now don't you? Common....admidt it....a part of you (probably a big part of you in we're being honest with ourselves) really wants to talk Cleveland basketball!
Well everyone is going to have wait a bit cause I'm busy. In the meantime we can talk about whether our incumbent QB sucks or not and missing All-American players.
|1 week 3 days ago||FWIW||
I know the OP is going to get hammered for the feelingspost BUT what he wrote regarding the QB play is just about exactly what my brother texted me who was there. I didnt see one snap (like WD said - it's just a glorified practice) but the OPs observations & my brothers sure matched up.
That being said I was one of those pushing hard for O'Korn last year and I couldnt have been more wrong on that one so I'm going to put my fandom/support behind whoever coach Harbaugh sticks behind center.
Oddly enough he seems to have a better handle on QB play than me. Go figure.

Hard for me to imagine them missing a call what with all the money they are undoubtably paid to do a game. As a matter of fact I had a meeting, just last week, with the M & A team at our firm and I asked one if he planned on staying in corporate acquisitions or moving in. He said "man....someday, if everything breaks right for me, I really hope to get a gig in college women softball umpiring. THATS where the really big money is"
