|2 days 3 hours ago||Update: I put down a $100||
I put down a $100 deposit for a partial season ticket plan about 10 minutes after the announcement. In the four hours since then the Cavs have raised the amount you have to put down to $200 to hold a place in line.
Phone lines for tickets are jammed and there's a crowd around Quicken Arena yelling, chanting and generally going nuts.
What a difference a day (and LeBron's second decision) makes.

I know. Isn't is AWESOME? I'll be happy to pick one up for you and Shembo - what size do you need?
Look. The last time this area won ANYTHING I was exactly five years old (1964) and living in Pontiac. If my memory serves in that time span the good folks of my home state have won two World Series and appeared in four, won four Stanley Cups and appeared in six, won three NBA titles and appeared in five. That's not bad. in those 50 years a team from Detroit has either won or appeared in a final of one of the big four sports every 3.3 years and won it all about 5 years.
Cleveland has appeared in two World Series and lost both and one NBA final and got swept. That really sucks.

No it still goes to Cleveland.
Cause we HAVE Miami's next year thank you very much. LeBron's departure was actually a sign & trade and it's next year's pick.
This truly is Christmas in July.

Think the pressure on David Blatt just got ratched it up a notch or two.
Hey David - welcome to the NBA coaching ranks. I'm sure the transition from the Israeli league to the NBA will be seemless and we'll give you all the time you need to get acclamated.
We were thinking like three or four games. Mkay?

Um...all of them?
Marc Stein in reporting that the Cavs are now in negotiations with the T-Wolves to get Kevin Love and that Love WILL sign a long-term deal with Cleveland.
If that happens I like out "big three" better than Miami's.

FWIW I just bought Cavs tickets. I had season tickets from 1993-2011. I just re-upped!

Common Don. What does Jerry HANLON know about modern, space-age, offensive line coaching???? He's one of those coaching dinosaurs who clings to that pre-historic notion that the moving the guy in front of you backwards was one of the fundimental premises of effective blocking. He also thought that keeping the man in front of you from getting to where he wanted to go (say on a pass play for example) could also be effective. How quant!
Knowdays we have evolved and teach more refined, cerebral techniques. Those old-fashioned notions of blocking are long-gone my friend.

How ironic Don. I was just typing that somewhere in heaven Bo was smiling at reading "the season boils down to the o-line and rushing ability"
Pretty much sums up Bo's philosophy to winning football games for 20 years.

I got it and once I figured out the whole "copy and paste" thing it worked just fine.
|3 days 7 hours ago||That's what's being reported||
That's what's being reported here in Cleveland. That IF Lebron agrees to sign Cleveland has a sign & trade deal in place with the T-Wolves for Love in exchange for Waiters, Wiggins and one of our three #1's next year. There is some debate on if both Waiters and Wiggins are being packaged but that's the rumor.
The other interestng nugget is that Anthony Bennett has apparently reported for summer bal looking like a greek god. Lost about 30 pounds and is tearing it up in summer play.
|3 days 10 hours ago||My issue with Brandon is||
My issue with Brandon is threefold. One: that he treated me like a bottomless pit of money willing to hand over anything to him to fund sports I dont personally care to support. For all the talk on the board about how wonderful the non-revenue facilities are now - how many people actually...you know...ATTEND any of their games? I don't and I resented and ultimately rebelled at the idea that I had to support them (through my wallet) if I wanted to maintain my football season tickets.
My second issue is that despite supporting the athletic department financially for the better part of 25 years through six season tickets, mulitiple bowl games and thousands of dollars of indivicual giving - neither he nor anyone in the department could be bothered to respond to any of my three emails expressing my displeasure over issue #1. A simple "we hear you but this is why we're doing this" would've gone a LONG way in keeping me in the fold. But they didn't - they were too busy crafting their latest e-blast campaign to implore me to buy even more tickets to worry about responding to talking to me on any level.
My third issue is how badly he's treated the students who are the very lifeblood of our future support. Dave has given them all a collective middle finger acting like they dont matter and they do. This is their team and their school (just like it was mine from 78-81) and the distain and disrespect Brandon provides them is appalling. I don't know if a student boycot of a game this fall is for real or not but if it actually happens it's 100% in response to Brandon's scorched earth policy towards the student base. I feel like I owe the students an apology on behalf of my generation thanks to Brandon.
So fuck Dave Brandon. I truly hope all those supporters in this thread have lots and lots of money and lots and lots of friends with money cause a whole lot of people like me have checked OUT of financially supporting the football team because of him.

I think road games are an absolute blast. I've been to Wisconsin twice, Notre Dame twice Purdue, MSU and OSU.
Favorite for Friday night party: Wisconsin
Favorite for Saturday tailgate: Notre Dame
Favorite for game experience: Notre Dame
Least favorite: Purdue (place just sucked)
We went to the 2006 & 2010 ND games so I'm 2-0 against Touchdown Jesus. In 2006 we set up our tailgate on the front lawn of somebody's house across from the stadium and not long after we got set up a guy set a BBQ stand next to us and traded us sandwhiches for beers. Then the house next to us filled up with the following families: The Long's, the Henne's & the Rivas's (apparently Mr Rivas went to every Michigan game home and away even though he lived in Miami). Mrs Henne had a list of all the players families and was on the phone coordinating getting everybody to our little location which was pretty damn cool.
So between the BBQ guy, meeting the players families and kicking ND's over-rated ass that was one hell of a road trip.

True but think for a second what could've been if the rumors and negative recruiting hadnt scared off some of the bigger fish that at one time had Michigan as their favorite. Hoke has shown the ability to get recruits at the highest level to consider and commit, I am convinced that if last year hadnt tanked so badly we'd be looking at a recruiting class for the ages.
Hoke has done very well recruiting make no mistake. But I think he has the abiity to be truly great here. And once the whispers about his job security go away I think he will.
|4 days 7 hours ago||9-3 with competitive losses||
9-3 with competitive losses to ND, MSU & OSU but wins everywhere else. A second place finish in the East. A New Years Day Bowl win over a middle tier SEC team giving the team a lot of positive national buzz going into 2015.
Fueled by this season't resurgance Hoke's strength, recruiting, returns to the extremely high level he's shown he's capable of. The end of the whispers about Hoke's future and a high level of optimism and expectations for 2015. And rumors of Nuss potentially leaving to take a high-profile HC gig elsewhere.

Kyrie, Waiters, Wiggins, Thompson and Varejeo are definitely a better, younger and more stable long-term option than Bosh, a broken down Wade and whatever scraps Miami can put together after that.
I think the chances are still 50-50 he comes back home but I'm more optomistic about the Cavs now than I've been since four years ago yesterday - that's for damn sure.
