But i do know what kind of budget he's working under. One that is insanely tight so when Dolan opens up the purse strings just a little bit and you fuck it up to that magnitude the likelyhood of another FA signing is small.
Look - we had back to back Cy Young winners who we traded away for nothing. I dont even want to get started the Indians are SO depressing to watch. But hey - common down to our neck of the AL Central world Tigers. Plenty of room down here in the cellar.
|5 hours 36 min ago||No i dont||
When your two big FA signings are Michael Bourn & Nick Swisher, your team cant score runs and is boring as Hell to watch there's not much to like.
Like I said - DD is light years ahead of anything we've got. Light years.

We will HAPPILY take him here in Cleveland. Just yesterday they were debating on WKNR who the best GMs in the game were and DD was used as the target the Tribe front office should be aspiring to but sadly, fall way short of.

At least she knows how to hold her liquor.

Holy shit do I want to read this book. I have a feeling this is going to make "3 and out" look like a Laura Ingalls Wilder story in comparison.
|9 hours 51 min ago||I am definitely hoping that||
I am definitely hoping that John U's new book sheds some additional light on the Hoke regime and why it failed so badly. We've gotten a pretty good look at why RR failed here but other than the occasional comment like the one Brian referenced, little has been said so far on what the hell went so wrong, so fast.

Ironically enough Tyrell Pryor is also making his debut at WR next week for the Browns. And by all reports he's doing very, very well and should make the team.
It would be somewhat ironic givent Pryor's & Gardner's past connection with RR if both made it in the NFL as wide outs, not QBs.

I like football and no, my son isnt playing until he's in middle school at least (if then).

I usually like your posts but this one was mean for no real reason.

One of these guys except mine was burgundy, had Cragar five spoke mags, a fipped air cleaner, air shocks and about 2.5 miles of pin-striping. Oh...and an aftermarket 8 track player.
Your basic chick magnet car.

As scary as it seems - try and imagine a counter-factual world where Brandon isn't removed and Hoke is still in place (as a lame duck coach) for year five. That would redefine ugly I think.

OK time for somebody to come clean. Who in the HELL gave Turd the other down vote along with WD?

Far, far and away the best one of these I've seen so far. That was simply awesome.
Thank you OP.

Not surprising. Peppers is clearly the best athlete on the team and also, not coincidently, the highest rated player on the team coming out of HS.

What's your most average day ever? The day in which everything more or less happened pretty much as you expected it would with no surprises?
|5 days 7 hours ago||The old Cleveland Muni||
The old Cleveland Muni stadium and it's not even close.
Old, smelly, shitty sight-lines and everybody in the place seemed to be drunk and want to fight.
On second thought I think I just described myself.

The thing is with Mke Leach talking this could very well be a goof and not seriously what he thinks.
He does tend to have a pretty good sense of humor.

Yeah you sure dont want to lose to Virginia Tech that's for sure. Losing to them, even early in the season, will probably end any hope they'd have of making the playoffs.

Same reason we prefer shitty beer & hamburgers my friend.
|5 days 11 hours ago||WTF?||
This is disgusting and shameful even for OSU.
"The Holocaust song, called “Goodbye Kramer,” whose lyrics haven't been previously disclosed, includes lines about Nazi soldiers “searching for people livin’ in their neighbor’s attic,” and a “small town Jew…who took the cattle train to you know where.” It was written to be sung to the tune of the 1981 Journey hit “Don’t Stop Believin’.

I'm only asking this WD because I know you'll know via the well-known Superbooks.
Have we ever had a LB wear #3?

|6 days 11 hours ago||FWIW I personally dislike the||
FWIW I personally dislike the concept of retiring jerseys. While I think the entire Legends Jersey conept was screwed up in implementaion, it was nice seeing #21 back on the field again. And I look forward to seeing #1 on a stud WR just like I'd like to see #2 on a great DB. I'm reminded of the great players of the past whenever I see somebody wearing a particular number (sorry all #7's are compared to Ricky Leach in my brain) and I don't see why we'd want that to end.
I don't want us to go all New York Yankees so incoming players have to wear numbers like 61.5 or something cause everything else is now considered "sacred." Put a wall of honor or something up on the luxury boxes if we want to honor somebody (like Charles) further. But leave their numbers available for subsequent generations.

I would strongly encourage anybody in the DC area to attend if you are able. These "roadshows" are a great opportunity to hear Brian speak (he tends to be a bit more candid when it's not in writing) and you'll meet a lot of your fellow MGoBloggers in person too.
|6 days 12 hours ago||Why doenst anyone ask Roger||
Why doenst anyone ask Roger why HE refused to turn over his own cell phone during the Ray Rice "discipline" investigation? Why were the rules and presumed guilt different for the commish than for Brady?
Look this witch hunt is fueled largely by jelousy from other teams over the Pats success and their desire to knock them down a peg or two. The two owners pushing the hardest for this to be upheld are Irsay (drug addict) and Bisciotti (who lobbied HARD for the Rice hand slap).
What's even more galling are the various "NFL Insiders" who are pushing the party line that Brady MUST have done it, why else would he destroy his cell phone, who are nothing more than paid shills for the shield. Journalistic integrity and those pesky facts be dammed.
Good for Tom to come out swinging and swing hard.
|6 days 14 hours ago||I think Witz57 is bang on. I||
I think Witz57 is bang on. I coached youth football for over 10 years with my two older boys but knowing now what I know about the cumulative effect of concussions I am NOT letting my 10 year old play until he's in 7th grade. That's five years, more or less, of reduced exposure to hits but also reduced exposure to learning so my guess is it's doubtful he'll want to play when he gets there and that's ok with me.
The rest of your points: coaches, crazy parents, etc are also right on the money as well. Great post.
