I have to call bias on this one Space. Here's the breakdown of what's on the board as we speak:
Front Page - Brian linked 14 articles
0 could be considered positive to Michigan
0 could be considered negative to Michigan (although 11 of the 14 could be considered negative to the subject matter)
14 neutral to Michigan
Side Board - 15 Threads up
7 positive: Miller, Novak, AA happy, UM standing, Wallmart Wolverine, Power Rank, Hurst at FB
3 negative: Tempo slow, Cole Suspended, Bowl prediction
5 neutral: Closer look at Utes, Michigan Monday, Fake Punt, Last non-televised game & Minni start time
I think perception is reality. It's really not that bad.

I agree. I wonder if Hoke circa 2011 would even recognize the current version.
The guy who "pooped gold" was a hellof lot more fun both on the field and off.

You only snark the ones you love.
Don't forget I predicted Michigan would go 10-3, losing all three rivalry road games and winning the rest and our mid-tier, New Year's bowl game.
We're three games in and so far my prediction is holding. And, all snark aside, I'll take that as a good year despite the frustrations the three losses will bring.

I think the only way the spread punt formation would be introduced under Hoke's command would be if somebody invented a time machine and had Michigan, circa 1996, put that baby in the arsenal.
Back to the future.

No don't cease. I would far rather read your synopsis than click through to their site.

I couldnt not watch it over and over and over. The "fake dead guy" might be the most hilariously ridiculous thing I've ever seen actually run in a game.
And to think they must've actually PRACTICED that play. Can you image the HC?
NO DAMMIT - RUN THE FUCKING THING AGAIN. YOU HAVE TO 'SELL' THAT YOUR DEAD - IT BARELY LOOKED LIKE YOU WERE EVEN SICK!

Amen brother. We need to maintain our strict policy of being complete assholes to each other and not ever, under any circumstances, saying anything that could be construed as "nice" or "uplifting" in any way. No comments should be made that could result in a fellow poster ever feeling good about themselves no matter how informative or helpful they might be.
I'll go first.
|18 hours 22 min ago||While I dont know the answer||
While I dont know the answer to your question I do know that back in the Paleozoic era when I was in school there were limits on how often a team could appear on TV in a given year. Once. That was it until 1977 - you got to see your team once a year on TV and once only. And until 1981 all games were on ABC except for the bowl games.
I dont remember ever seeing a Michigan - Michigan State game on TV because ABC usually waited for the OSU game to televise us. Man have times changed (for the extreme better BTW).

|22 hours 57 min ago||Let's be honest here - that||
Let's be honest here - that match-up, as much as we might hate it, would be ratings heaven for any bowl able to pull it off. And if we're facing Arizona in anything other than the Rose Bowl it will be a pretty crappy bowl game that would kill for the ratings that game will generate.
And we thought Appy State II was a bad idea.....that game (if it actually happens) will generate so much buzz it will take on a life of its own.
|23 hours 20 min ago||Both you and Space are||
Both you and Space are probably correct in that the route prolly had one or more verts that I didnt pick-up on as I was watching the ball travel four yards and the watched Eckert run out of bounds. And you're also probably right that the players interalized the booing to think it was directed at them even though it most certainly was not.
I can say however that was the one and only time I remember doing it in some 30 years of going to games and I was definitely joined by most of the stadium which is way Lloyd noticed it and commented on it afterwards. Not quite sure how fans are expected to show displeasure with coaches and their decision-making however if booing is not allowed.
And while I agree Lloyd was no idiot I will happily engage the debate on the intellectual qualifications of Mike Debord as an OC. Just because he had the job doesnt mean he was any good at it nor did it make him smart.
|1 day 1 hour ago||Booing vs Supporting the Troops||
I remember once booing as loudly and as long as I could at the coaching staff back when Carr had Debord as his OC. I don't remember the year but what i do remember is being down very late in the game and needing a score to win. We had the ball and were faced with a 4th and 15 or something and play called had Tyler Eckert running a shallow drag route to the boundry and Navarre (pretty sure it was Navarre anyways) hit him for about a 4 yard gain and that was it. Turnover on downs and game over. So I boo'd as did most of the stadium at the abject stupidity of calling a play with a four yard pass to the boundry to a hulking, slow TE as one of the options.
On the way home that night I listened as Carr railed on the fans for booing the players cause they were trying so damn hard and that booing them just wasnt right. I wanted to jump through the radio and scream "it wasnt directed at them - it was directed at your idiot OC" so I learned that the coaches hear and believe what they want to hear and believe.
So to a coach booing = not supporting the troops. No matter how incompently the "troops" are being led.

Dumbest punt EVAH?
Shit man - it wasnt even the dumbest punt in the past 10 years by Michigan. Go back and re-watch the 4th quarter of 2005 Michigan/OSU game if you want to see the leader in the clubhouse in the Dumbest Punt Ever tournament.

So instead of of thanking the 102k (more or less) that DID show up and support the team even though they were playing argueably the worst team in D1 football that was riding an 18 game losing streak and all this happening the week after watching Michigan get jailsexed on national TV against Notre Dame you're pissed cause some of them left early when the game was well in hand and Hoke was clearing the bench?
|3 days 6 hours ago||I would like to learn about||
I would like to learn about (from your perspective) the following:
1. Does the new GA system work? While better than the debacle from last year is it working enough so you guys get to sit basciailly where you want/expect to sit with a minimum of hassle and time in line?
2. Is the student section (as a whole) as engaged in the game as year's past? I'm not talking about the random sorority girl who's there to see and be seen but has the overall excitement level in the section itself diminished in your opinion. I'm sorry I don't know what year you are but unless you're a freshman it would be interesting to hear if the general malise that's gripped the alumni is starting to spread to the students. Apathy is far worse than anger.
3. Is it fun? At it's core attending football games MUST be fun for students want to do so. Sorry - there isnt a requirement they go nor is their a moral imperative the stands are full. They go for the same reason I used to go - it was FUN. Now granted it was a hell of lot easier to have fun back in the late seventies when you could sit whereever the hell you wanted to and could bring a freaking pony keg into the stadium and light doobies with no hassles but still, the game itself must be fun. Is it?
I appreciate you taking this project on. I'll be interested to read your diary and hear your thoughts.

The day(s) after a loss like this past week:
1. Wake up still pissed and hung-over on Sunday. Remember you had computer in lap during second half of game.
2. Check MGoblog to see if you said or did anything that got you sent to Bolivia
3. Wait for TWIS to be published to see if you got picked up there
4. Realize you've dodged the bullet one more time
5. Rinse, repeat
|6 days 1 hour ago||Do you guys ever send out||
Do you guys ever send out emails to people who disapear asking them to come back cause they are missed? Seriously - you've got their email addresses, you know they USED to post in some quantity and you know they havent in a long while.
Maybe they went into lurker mode or maybe they just felt unwanted or appreciated and drifted away. I can think of quite a few people who offered valuable contributions to the board and are no longer around. Contributions from posters like C-Rex would make the board a better place IMO.
Tell me, for example, that J Hackney wouldnt have come in VERY handy this week with his nuclear bomb gif's.
|6 days 2 hours ago||Bill Stewart is the guy I see||
Bill Stewart is the guy I see more of Hoke in than Orgeron. He took a Rich Rod team to a BCS win and then slowly went downhill from there. Was likeable, universally LOVED by his players but generally thought to be over his head and a bit short on the coaching smarts when compared to his peers.
