I’m in the stadium, north end zone, right behind Michigan players. Blake has a knee brace on left knee. Went through full drills. Donovan has soft cast on right hand, but full use of fingers. Morris and Schoonmaker have no discernible injuries
The video reinforces the validity and value of the screen game. Bama runs it with great success today. How is not a more prominent part of the Harbaugh/Gattis offensive repertoire?
I realize football is the last thing Brian wants to discuss, but it would be great to get a deeper dive into Warinner's promotion to O-line coach. Are the claims made by some Ohio fans that Warriner is "the best line coach in the country" valid? If so, what stats back up that claim? How will his scheme match with Harbaugh's offense? What is his reputation and track record as a recruiter? Given that McElwain is generally viewed as a dud on the trail, Warriner's abilities in recruiting have heightened importance.
My family and I watched the first round game there yesterday. Several TVs, all with the game on. Great time had by all. We'd join you, but unfortunately we fly home tomorrow morning.
Regarding statements of whether the city is safe, my wife, two kids (8 and 6) and I had a fantastic, issue-free time. Eight days hitting most of the major tourist sights, walking everywhere morning, noon and night and absolutely no complaints. The people were wonderful, the food was great and the city felt alive. Enjoy your trip and don't listen to the uninformed!
I was an all-state linebacker in high school and was recruited by several MAC schools. Received preferred walk-on offers from WMU, EMU, CMU. Received several DII partial scholarship offers. Settled on Grand Valley. Played for Brian Kelly. He signed a contract extension at that time that took his salary to $90K a year, which, he told us, allowed him buy a new Ford Explorer.
All the coaches at GVSU at that time had to teach as well. Brian taught Football Coaching Theory. Really interesting to understand his approach from a teaching perspective combined with being able to see it on the field. Brian was a very fair coach and very hard on his QBs. Very focused on the offensive side of the ball. Total meritocracy - if you could get it done and didn't blow your assignments, you played. His program (at least in the late '90s) had no family atmosphere. We were all there to do a job. Everybody was cool with it and it obviously worked, but I don't ever remember being asked how my family was doing, participating in team movie nights, etc. I know a couple guys from GVSU who played/play in the league and they said Brian's approach was very similar to what they experienced: you've got a job to do and if you can't, he'll find someone who can. No hard feelings, just business.
He's very smart and very confident, bordering on arrogant. As we've all seen, he has an explosive temper, particularly with his QBs. His offensive knowledge is first rate. I shook my head when there was talk of him interviewing with the Eagles. No franchise QB is going to take the type of verbal abuse he heaves at them.
I don't have the ability to start a post, but EJ Price is on his visit to Auburn and posted on Twitter: "pocket full of money kind of hard to keep my pants up." Tweet since deleted but lives on at rivals. Tried to paste page here, but copy and paste doesn't work. Look it up and form your own conclusions.
A lot of selective memory of Thomas' time at Michigan. I watched him closely and the burst he displays now was simply not there. I remember watching him during the spring game his sophomore year when he had a significant number of carries and thinking he either needs to be a step faster or stronger and he was neither during his time in AA. Where the extra burst came from that he displays now is unclear, but he never looked like this at U of M. Anyone arguing otherwise is simply piling on the former staff because it's easy to do. Did Hoke and company fail tremendously? Absolutely, but to pin Rawls ascendency on getting out from under the former regime completely ignores the 2 star talent level Rawls displayed while at U of M.
From a pure profit standpoint, Michigan is #2 ($56 million) to Texas ($89 million), so DB is delivering from a bottom line perspective. Fitting for a former CEO and no doubt how he's presenting it throughout the university.

QB2 rest of this season, followed by position switch to tight end (less likely) or transfer to play QB elsewhere (more likely).

Also not a frequent poster. I went through the UM MBA program with Greer. He's a legit great guy and I consider him a great friend to this day.
Given the speed at which information travels, I'm not at all surprised that a salacious rumour took on a life of its own.
My source is plugged in. "Might" is the operative word at this point.
It would be a shock if he doesn't start next year.
He has the potential to be a tremendous difference maker going forward. He's an underclassman.

...he's Tim Dwight 2.0, minus the premature receding hairline and backne.

How do you castrate an OSU fan? Kick his sister in the mouth.
