^^^ THIS ^^^

I have a good friend who worked at the AG and decided to not go to law school because of it.

Law may be the right path, but it's important to really understand what you're getting into. I practiced for a few years and then switched careers. I have friends who are happy as lawyers, but also many who aren't. It's a big commitment to go to law school, so make sure it's the right choice for you.

As a contractor for most of a decade, I agree that cash tips are very uncommon. However, they would be much appreciated, and they mean more when they are not a given.

It feels weird to me too. My best guess is that a wisconsin loss helps us IF we lose to wisconsin in the B1G championship game. Of course, 538's model isn't perfect, so maybe it truly does help us if Wisconsin wins.

Thumbs up.

Thanks for this.

I've seen fivethirtyeight's playoff predictor posted here before. I thought I would be useful to post a who-to-root-for list for the upcoming games. Below, I have who to root for, with the difference in Michigan's chances of making the playoffs in parenthases.

Michigan over Iowa (+23%)

Maryland over OSU (+22%)

Pitt over Clemson (+6%)

Illinois over Wisconsin (+6%)

Miss. State over Bama (+5%)

USC over Washington (+4%)

Wake Forest over Louisville (+2%)

NOTE: All other games affect Michigan's chances by 1% or less.

Godin

Godin was not mentioned here. He was discussed as some type of contributor for this season in the Florida recap. Is that still happening, or has something happened that indicates he won't play much this year?

Field Position

Not 100% sure here, but I think that the Mathlete's Field Position metric means the expected points for each drive (based on field position) added together. It makes sense that Utah was about a touchdown higher than us because of the pick six, for which the expected value is ~7 points.

Athleticism

Something to keep in mind is that Beilein has a great track record of projecting where a prospect will end up when they make it to college.  While Austin Davis may never be confused with Anthony Davis, he can still become a valuable member of the team after some years of development.

If you seek a pleasant peninsula...

Alum here, good luck against Cornell and in the series!

meme game

M3M3 games seems catchier. and then this can be our meme when we refer to the bad times, assuming we ever get good again.

Win or Lose

Win or lose the battle with cancer, I wish the best for the McCaffery family and I hope they enjoy whatever amount of time they have!  Obviously I hope he is able to hold the cancer at bay, but I don't like to think of dying as losing, since we all die.  Enjoy life!

Yeah, having 5 permanent

Yeah, having 5 permanent rivalries could make things imbalanced. Maybe two would be better, MSU and OSU. Of course, it would probably be even better if we could get Indiana or Illinois as another permanent rivalry to make our schedules more balanced. I guess 5 would work if some games were more for evening things out than for rivalry purposes.

How did he normalize them?

How did he normalize them? did he stretch them out right to left? Clarification on this would be cool.

(dumb) Question

Love the posts! Quick question: Michigan only had 16 recruits this year, but our line goes to 25. How did you stretch out our class this year?

Hilarious!

Thanks for sharing, great impressions!  I was worried for a second he would do a richard sherman impression.... glad he didn't.

Probably Borges being fired

Keep Hoke unless complete tire fire

I was really disappointed by this season, but I think Hoke is still the right coach for the program at least through the end of the 2015 season. Unlike RichRod's tenure, the wheels have not fallen off on the recruiting front.  I think Borges/Funk should probably be replaced now if we can get someone good to replace them, and if not, I am OK with giving them another season.  Replacing Hoke would be a rough transition, and I don't know who would want come here (at least of the coaches who would do a significantly better job than Hoke).

I think that, as long as recruiting stays strong and we win 8+ games, we should keep Hoke.  The 2012 class will only be juniors/redshirt sophomores next year.  If we suck in 2015, then by all means, fire everyone.

Fuck cancer

It sucks. Hitting my family hard right now. Thanks MGoBlog community for providing an outlet to think about something else. Much love! Go Blue!

wooo

back in town!

So crazy it just might work From looking at as many articles I could find on Big Ten expansion, I found an interesting idea in the comment section: "As long as we are going to think about expansion, let's do it strategically. Instead of adding 1 team to make a 12 team conference just to keep up with the Joneses (SEC, B12), Let's leapfrog these conferences by combining the B10 and Big East into two 10 team divisions - Big Ten East and Big Ten West. We could then have annual divisional playoff games at the Meadowlands and Solder Field after the regular season with a follow-up Conference Championship to be held at a rotating neutral site within region. The champion each year would have a very strong case for playing the BCS championship both from competitive and financial standpoints. You might wonder where the 20th team might come from since the B10 has 11 and the Big East has 8 teams - WAKE UP THE ECHOS!" This would do a number of things: 1. Keep the UM OSU game very relevant, as it would likely decide the B10West every year. 2. Putting PSU in the East would make that division similarly strong to the B10 West. After thinking about it, there are way to many roadblocks (academics #1) but it's definitely and interesting idea.
