Completely agree.

As everyone here says, every program in the country is stealing signs, then the Michigan coaches should know what information to expect from the person tasked with stealing signs. If all of a sudden Stalions starts showing up with a trove of new intel the likes of which they've never seen before and they don't get suspicious, then that's on coaches for being willfully ignorant. If another staffer, probably a low level analyst, sees the footage and doesn't report it, then that's on the coaches for either not adequately training or enabling a culture that cheating is allowed.

At the end of the day, the head coach is responsible for what happens in the program. He's responsible for the culture and if that culture enables a lone wolf to go over the line, then that's on Harbaugh. If this exact thing happened to OSU, every single person here would be screaming for Ryan Day's head.

Even if all the advantage…

Even if all the advantage was on the defensive side of the ball, which I'm not sure it was, it will still benefit the offense. A defensive advantage turns into an offensive advantage through field position, turnovers, or directly into points. There's no way to possibly claim that Michigan's offensive production is without any credit to a improved defense by ill gotten-gains.

Absolutely pathetic. The…

Absolutely pathetic. The refusal to throw the ball is inexcusable. Washington is down 4 receivers and they're still at least trying. If they were healthy, I have no doubt that we would be down at half.

Our passing offense will have essentially no game experience by the time we play a team where we HAVE to pass.

You have no idea what Bo…

You have no idea what Bo would do in a situation like this. Just because he coached at Michigan doesn't mean he wouldn't do something like this to "protect" the University, his team, and himself.

You sound exactly just like all the Penn State fans defending Paterno.

You do realize that having…

You do realize that having access to recorded lectures is not exclusive to online courses? Several of my classes had the lectures posted online for you to go back and rewatch, but they still required me to attend discussion sections. I graduated in 2012, so I imagine that the availability of recorded lectures had gone up significantly since them. So I don't think Michigan is behind the times or stubborn, they are just trying to prevent abuse and force onc engagement because it's best for everyone, students, professors, and GSIs.

This is the point I've been…

This is the point I've been trying to make. Even the best defenses give up yards and points in today's game. Especially in rivalry games where the opponent had been scouted to death. Look at the score of the Iron Bowl between two good defenses as another example.

I don't care who we have as our DC or lining up at DT or CB next year. The game against OSU will be a shootout no matter what and our offense needs to be ready.

I think Shea is a good…

I think Shea is a good quarterback, but wasn't put in the best position to succeed during his career here. If we had the pass first offense we've shown since the PSU game his entire career, it could have been much much better.

Also, to your point that no QB could have won the game because the defense gave up 56 is bullshit. OSU wouldn't have scored that many points if our offense was better and more consistent. Had we not had 8+ drops or given OSU very short fields from failed 4th down conversions, they would have only scored in the upper 30s or low 40s. Which in today's age of college football, is something our offense needs to be able to match.

I know we all want to blame…

I know we all want to blame the defense for our loss, but look at the score game of this game, 48-45. I doubt either teams is clamoring to fire their DC. In today's college football, your offense needs to be able to win a shootout, especially against a rival. I don't care who our DC is, we won't be holding OSU to less than 30pts in a looong time.

Our offense is showing a lot of signs of improvement, but isn't consistent enough to keep up with OSU yet.

Agree. The best way to…

Agree. The best way to solidify OSU's dominance is to start another coaching carousel with another change in identity and philosophy. Just stay the course for now. Don't make an emotional decision after losing to the #1 team in the country and historically good.

Looked like helmet-helmet…

Looked like helmet-helmet friendly fire.

Last year I was in Zurich…

Last year I was in Zurich for the Ohio State game and tried to find a bar to watch at, but had no luck. I emailed a few people from the local alumni chapter and posted on the the Zurich subreddit, but couldn't find any bar that would be showing any college football. We ended up just streaming it at the Airbnb.

Hopefully you have better luck in Geneva, but I think you'll probably need to just stream it.

So he was aware, but not…

So he was aware, but not fully aware?

If you want to have…

If you want to have explosive plays you need to be able to have a consistent short passing game.

Every other team is able to burn us with crossing routes, why can't we do the same? Throw enough of the short 5-10yd passes with room to run after the catch. Either you'll break some of them for long YAC or you'll draw the safeties down so you can throw it deep.

If you look at other teams, their explosive plays aren't just arm punts, they're catching the ball in stride and making people miss.

I think it's on the coaches…

I think it's on the coaches. I don't think Patterson is beyond saving, it's just the coaches need to put him in a position to succeed.

They need to line up wide and spread out the defense, give Patterson quick throws where he doesn't have to read much.

Part of the issue I see is we will run max protect and send only 2 or 3 guys out on routes. That makes it easy for the defense to read and defend.

They are trying to help Shea by giving him more protection and putting him in low risk situations, but they need to spread it out and give him the opportunity to get a rhythm. He'll never get better if we always game plan around him instead of for him. Same goes for any QB. If we put in Dylan, he will have  his own issues. Until the coaches design plays and schemes that help play to the QBs strengths instead of designing to mitigate weaknesses, we will always fail.

We need to start passing to…

We need to start passing to set up the run, not the other way around. Our run game is terrible and essentially a wasted down. We looked best when we started airing it out.

I don't think he need to be…

I don't think he need to be fired. I don't like to jump to firing someone. But if the same mistakes and stubbornness happens next year, then I think that shows he's unwilling to adapt and should go.

Don Brown is the one who…

Don Brown is the one who needs to be less stubborn. The press man coverage only philosophy is clearly being exploited by teams with elite athletes. No teams in the NFL or any elite / great college teams play as strictly one type of defense as us.

Until Michigan's defense can…

Until Michigan's defense can play zone coverage, we will continue to be exposed against good teams with elite athletes. Any team with a lot of time to prepare can and will expose a defense that is completely one dimensional. Playing only man coverage isn't "manly" or "tough". It's purely tunnel vision and refusal to acknowledge your weaknesses .

If Don Brown continues his…

If Don Brown continues his refusal to play zone coverage, then fire him. I don't care about having the #1 defense because we beat up on bad teams. Playing only man coverage is just stupid and bad coaching.

Edit : I'm not saying fire him now, because I think he's a good enough coach to make adjustments in the off-season.

Until Don Brown decides to…

Until Don Brown decides to play zone coverage, our defense will ALWAYS be exposed by teams with a lot of prep time and/or elite athletes. No NFL team, no elite college teams play exclusively man coverage. To do so isn't "manly", it's tunnel vision.

The HAIL program is also the…

The HAIL program is also the "Hometown Alumni Involvement Link" for the College of Engineering. It matches prospective students up with local CoE alums for an in-person interview to answer questions they may have about the university. So I think there are several "HAIL" programs. I imagine it can cause some confusion.

First half ''body blows" don…

First half ''body blows" don't work against elite teams that can punch you in the face 3x first. This strategy for using the first half to set up the second is bullshit against any above average team.

Any suggestions for watching a game in Zurich, Switzerland? I'll be there for the OSU game this year and desperately need to find a place to watch it.

Open up the passing game. I…

Open up the passing game. I want to see Shea get into a good rhythm with the receivers and tight ends. I think getting the team a lot of experience pass blocking and route running is much more important than showing we can do 'manball' and run it down their throats.

You may not want to accept…

You may not want to accept it, but we are underdogs. It may not be the Michigan that you remember, but it's the truth right now. No player on the team was even in middle school the last time we won the Big Ten. You talk like we're so much better than MSU, but the fact is they've won 3 Big Ten championships since our last one.

Ever since I've been a fan, (2008 when I was a freshman) Michigan has beaten OSU and MSU a combined 3 times. How do you expect me to believe we're not underdogs?

Watching M-OSU Abroad Anyone know how this will affect watching the game in Europe? I'll be in Switzerland during the Ohio State game and already anxious about how I'm going to be able to watch it.

No. If you believe that we should hang the vacated banners then you must also believe that Louisville should hang their 2013 National Championship banner. We broke the rules and therefore, should not get to claim the accomplishments of those teams.
yes, they are, but is T. Hathaway aware? yes, they are, but is T. Hathaway aware?
RB and Flex -PPR RB - Freeman or McKinnon. Flex - R. Anderson or K. Rudolph
Music City Bowl I'm holding out hope we'll get into the Music City Bowl. I know it's not a great bowl, but I live in Nashville and would love the chance to see the team down here.
Smoked Hummus Speaking of hummus, my wife loves making homemade hummus. So, the last few times we broke out the smoker we tossed a can of chickpeas in a foil packet with holes and smoked them for about 40min. It gives the hummus a slight, not overpowering, smoky flavor. It makes a really good mid-afternoon snack while you're waiting for the meat to finish.
I live in Tennessee just north of Nashville, I live in Tennessee just north of Nashville, directly in the path of the eclipse. We're having sitting on our back porch and having a barbeque. Staying the hell off the roads with apparently 1-2 million people are coming into the Nashville area.
I wasn't a big sports fan growing up, but I I wasn't a big sports fan growing up, but I actually grew up as an MSU fan. I lived near Lansing (Mason) and I wasn't one of those kids who had to be a fan of the opposite team just to be contrarian. I applied to Michigan as a 'stretch goal' and didn't even think I would be accepted. I was ecstatic when I was accepted and I immediately became a Michigan fan, but I still wasn't a big sports fan. I didn't know anything of Michigan's history (I didn’t even know who Bo was). I ended up buying season tickets my freshman year because I figured I should have the whole college experience. I ended up falling in love with Michigan Football and the Big House during that season even though it was Rich Rod’s horrible first year.
The camera is positioned behind the play. That The camera is positioned behind the play. That means the viewing angle will overestimate his yardage. So, if it looks like he just got to the first down marker then, in reality, he was short.
Rutgers Shutout...Again Rutgers has been outscored 224-0 against Michigan, OSU, MSU, and Penn State. Unbelievable.
What about telling the entire offensive line and What about telling the entire offensive line and blockers to hold like crazy and do anything to prevent them from getting past? The time still would come off the clock from punting (if we get the punt off) and if MSU accepts the penalty, there would be a 10s run off. Is that correct?
Started with spiced apple cider with rum and have Started with spiced apple cider with rum and have switched to some Tennessee beer, will likely switch to straight rum soon. I don't want to remember, ever.
