2 weeks 3 days ago	In the top of the 8th	and every inning thereafter, the batter who made the last out of the previous inning gets placed on 2nd base.  The next batter is up just like normal but there is a runner on 2nd with no outs (obviously). The runner on second has a 43% chance of scoring. Typically the coach will but the runner over to 3rd.  Then the runner is now in scoring position and can score on a base hit or sac fly.

2 weeks 3 days ago	The underhand	motion is natural for the arm.  The muscles do get stretched but not tore like baseball. I have seen pitchers throw 150 pitches per game in back to back games.  Its not uncommon in summer leagues and at the JC level where teams have only one pitcher. Conditioning and stamina is way more important.  Usually the smaller girls tire more quickly than the larger (Ricketts, Traina) types.

2 weeks 3 days ago	Dickerson has been	the best since Ernie.  Frank did a bad job, Jim thinks he is cute with his "nice area" schtick, the Seattle Boys (forget their names) were just barely ok. What about Doug Karsh?  I see him at the Softball games all the time.  He is certainly knowledgeable about M sports and knows the campus.

2 weeks 4 days ago	The team is currently	in a tornado shelter and safe.  They are being well cared for.   We all need to say a prayer for ALL the teams and visitors.  The field is expected to take a DIRECT HIT in about 20 minutes.

2 weeks 4 days ago	The National Weather Service	called for a Tornado Emergency for the Oklahoma City area.  There are a few ppl trying to text some of the team to see if they are ok.   The tornado path is directed at the softball complex but the team SHOULD not be there unless they are watching the other games. I will post on this thread if I find out anything.  Thank God I did not  venture down there today.

2 weeks 5 days ago	I will certainly	get that for you.  A study was performed recently by a former Minny softball player going for her Masters in Statistics (IIRC).  Her paper is a coach's dream. My personal data shows about 40% of runners on second base score on a sinlge.  But my data is skewed because I do not have D1 level talent.
