The hornets unis were designed by MJ's branch of Nike, but will still be made by Adidas as the official nba uni maker.

Meant as reply for comment way up in the thread.

Maybe this link is co-incidental rather than causal, I don't know, but I won't rule it out yet.
Perhaps as a preventative measure we should all embrace the cleanest and safest form of power generation - nuclear :)

... Seems like there is another way to escape Bolivia other than to hire a MGoLawyer.
With today's melt-down, perhaps some on the board will need to consider layers and layers of intermediaries to negotiate thier own exits. (Actaully, I think the board's reaction to the Campbell news has been pretty tame, for which I thank the points system.)
|31 weeks 3 days ago||If we make half the leap from year one of pro-style||
To year two as we did from year one of spread to year two, our offense will be fine. Yes,Taters helped over Sheridan / Threet, but the whole team had a better grasp of the offensive philosophy and workings.
This year was effectively year one of the transition to pro-style after two years of creative fusion cooking. With Bowl practices and spring ball, Borges can install more of the playbook (so maybe there is more than one play to a formation so as not to tip off the play -hint hint).
I hope he keeps a little fusion spice in the playbook and that our young o-line hit the weights hard.
I give him another year.

...But only see Spartans at the drive through, I will have a much better holiday season if MSU wins.
|31 weeks 3 days ago||We should want MSU over OSU||
While both teams have had a strong run of late, MSU is much more likely to regress next year with much of the defense turning over and Narduzzi a hot head coaching commodity. Even if they get a one year bump in recruiting (and this year the only remaing battle is Malik McDowell), it won't last once they post a few 5 loss seasons. They are probably destined for the Rose this year regardless of the outcome against OSU, so no harm in them wining the B1G along the way.
OSU replaces 4/5 of their o-line next year, and the depth at o-line is not at usual OSU levels. Their season next year will be a good comparison to ours this year regarding developing the line. That said, they will remain dangerous on the field and in recruiting, so keeping them from the title game is more important for our continued climb.

Brady, can I talk to you?
Sure Al, what's up
Well, I know that this is 'The Game' and everything that comes with it, but if the Offense looks poor, it will effectively end my coaching career... You've still got a few years of goodwill, I'm on the hot seat.
Yea, probably... So what do you want to do?
I'm going to pull out all the stops, misdirection, throw-backs... The conversative bias is out the window, young o line or no young o line.
Hmmmmm, what the hell, nothing else has worked against teams which actually field a defense.
Seriously, if thus is what a fully functioning Borges Offense looks like, sign me up for another year. If we make half the jump from year one to year two of 'pro-style' as we did with spread we should be fun to watch next year.
|31 weeks 4 days ago||Loved the gallon throwback to Gardner play design||
A slightly better throw by gallon and that would have been six
This should be Hoke's worst year. With the experience, recruiting, game plan consistency (offense & defense now installed) arrows all pointing up and another year of Gardner - things are looking up.
Too bad next year's schedule is brutal.
|32 weeks 1 day ago||Settle down now...||
... There are plenty of young guys who can still emerge on Offense.... Beyond the OL thrown into the fire this year, there are several others who will emerge from their red shirt years - looking at you Dawson and Kugler. Putting Mags at his more natural tackle spot will help him improve as well.
Green and Smith show real potential at RB.
Chesson together with Darboh will fill in at WR with Funchess as the lead dog.
A non-destroyed 5th year Gardner backed up by Morris and Wilton (probably red-shirted) will be a strength.
Some creativity with Norfleet and... Profit? Well, maybe not profit, but maybe middle of the pack to go with our strong D.
I'll reserve commentary on the offensive coaching...

Coach Parker - can you do fusion cuisine with a pro style / somewhat less mobile QB?
Do you live close to Ann Arbor?
If the answer to both questions is 'yes' please submit your resume to coach Hoke.

Is there any word about Glasgow's snapping skills? Inability to get the ball cleanly to Gardner is my greatest concern with the switch.
Yes, I am a true Michigan fan, I worry about everything.
#trustthecoaches I guess

I spent WAY too much time in North Hall... bad memories of early morning PT and standing at attention for inspection - now being torn down
I loved being on the club Rifle team - that range was torn down a while ago
We marched in (silly) formations in an empty South Ferry field - now the lacross field (I think)
By the way my freshman dorm was Bursely - sounds like that is closing
and my fraternity house burned down the year after I left campus
At least the Business School did not get completely demolished and rebuilt after I finsihed my MBA - ...oh wait
(Count me in as part of the vocal NROTC alumni in favor of a good new home for the unit.)

I'm in the Navy Yard a few times each week but was fortunate to have family commitments this Monday which kept me home.
I feel terrible for all those impacted by this tragedy.
It will be very odd working in the navy yard tomorrow and every day afterwards.
I wish I had something deeper to add, but I'm at a loss.
Odd that we do such a poor job protecting at home those who protect us abroad.

|48 weeks 1 day ago||Draft lottery||
My humor generator is broken today...
...but I use a lottery system to set the draft order in multiple leagues. Last year's champ gets one random number generator 'ping pong ball'.. and the team with the worst regular season points scored gets 12 random number generator 'ping pong balls' in an excel spreadsheet (all the other teams get the corresponding ping pong balls in order).
Make sure you set calculate to manual.
Hold down F9 until you feel lucky
Find the highest value for each team
Set the draft order from highest value #1 pick, to lowest pick #12
BTW - my favorite rule is that the worst team from the year before gets renamed by the other owners for the following regular season. The motivation of avoiding being renamed by the rest of the league keeps all the owners focused on trying hard well after being eliminated from the playoffs.

Only a Michigan blog would reference Schroedinger's cat when talking about football recruiting.
We must treat LF as being both in A^2 and La at the same time until proven otherwise.
|49 weeks 5 days ago||Read 'American Nations'||
I recommend 'American Nations' by Collin Woodard. He makes a pretty good argument that the Cavalier culture of the tidewater (Virginia) area is distinct from the 'Deep South' culture.
Overall it is a really interesting look into the similarities and differences across the regions of America. Feel free to stop reading after WW2 when the book takes an unfortunate descent into partisan nonsense.
Having been stationed in both Norfolk and Jacksonville... I think there are some differences.

What a turn-around from a few short years ago when we would all hold our collective breath that recruit X would not get stolen on signing day. Now, not only does this staff get top talent, they get committed talent who bleed blue.
I'm looking forward to thanksgiving with my buckeye in-laws the next few years :)
|1 year 9 weeks ago||OT - ROI on higher education||
This may be too political, but it may also be worth its own thread which I lack the points to start... so MODs feel free to treat as you wish.
Bill Bennet, former US Sec. of Education did ROI calculations on universities and found that only ~300 have positive ROI.
The good news is that UM makes the list for both in-state and out-of-state... the bad news is that we are only ~70th on the list and below many institutions which we compare ourselves to academically.
Other good news is that all of the B1G makes the list (a quick browse saw even OSU and MSU on the list, so I assume all the others are as well).
Lots of money being spent of college athletics... and tuition bills are at all time highs.
