Chip Kelly isn't budging.

Chip Kelly isn't budging. He's on record saying that college recruitng, especially right after the bowl game is too stressful. He said he prefers to be in the office dealing with the x's and o's. Still nice to dream though.

Pepper?

You beat me to it!

I was going to say, "How can V. Smith be on the board and no one post the finger guns gif?"

Also obligatory!

Continue greatness V!

I will admit though, comments

I will admit though, comments like these do scare me in terms of the coaching staff change at Michigan.

Dele Harding in regards to USC:

Many have speculated that Harding’s comfort in the Land of Troy makes USC his current leader, but those closest to him warn against jumping to that conclusion. That’s especially true of Thomas, who is unabashed in his support of the Maize and Blue. “No, no,” said Thomas when asked about the rumor of the Trojans being on top. “That’s a new staff. I don’t know them. I knew the old staff. I don’t know these (guys) over there now.”

Edit: That's his head coach speaking about USC, not Harding. Still may be something to watch for in the future.

Considering there is a ton of

Considering there is a ton of SEC games to still be played (Bama vs LSU, Ole Miss vs Miss St., Bama vs Auburn, etc) I'm not understanding why people are upset about these rankings. They're based on what has happened so far and so far these rankings are about right (talking about the top 4).  I would probably swap Oregon for Ole Miss, but that's it. Teams will move up once SEC teams start to eat each other alive.

Dave, you're nothing to me now. You're not a brother, you're not a friend. I don't want to know you or what you do.

I hate to be a buzz killington but...

Davis Molk is not getting

David Molk is not getting enough credit. He played out of his mind last night. He more than held his own in the middle, pulled and made plays 5-10 yards down the field. He was the lead blocker on Darren Sproles 15-yard TD run. He's definitely getting better each week.

I think you're talking about

I think you're talking about the play where B.G chased Nassib down but it was negated due to a roughing the passer penalty on NT Beau Allen. I cant recall if it was a sack though.

Because there is none.

Because there is none. Everyone has been mum on the details until this was released. UF is supposed to be issuing a statement in regards to Harris' reinstatement. Once that happens, the chances of hearing any major details in the case will be slim. No prosecutor, law enforcement, or any one else has said a word besides "we're investigating".

Here's your "other details" if that's what you want.

Happy Friday Y'all!

My goodness! These things are going to be on Thursday after a while.

This might not mean a thing.

This might not mean a thing. Take it fwiw.

Edit: The whole thing looked sloppy so I redid it. But basically, you're not the only person who feels like he may get a shot.

Many have tried. Many more have fallen.

Humbly aprreciate it. :)

Agreed. He can defintely make some special teams contributions. Fipp is doing a heck of a job. Maybe they picked him because he's cheaper than Maragos? Either way I hope he sticks.

Anyway, we could use a bit of

Anyway, we could use a bit of good news right? Jordan Kovacs signed to Eagles practice squad.

I noted that in the op.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if it

Thanks. I wasn't sure if it was OT or not because it has nothing do with the current season. I'm actually an Eagles fan so I definitely could've provided more info in the post. The Eagles have four safeties on the current roster.

-Malcolm Jenkins was signed in FA and has been a beast thus far with 3 interceptions and a pick-six He can play either safety position.

-Earl Wolff is in his second year. He's very good and versatile when healthy but has been dealing with a nagging knee injury for the past 2 years.

-Nate Allen is servicable at best. I can see Kovacs taking his spot considering Kovacs is no worse than he is and can play special teams (Chip Kelly requires all the none starters to play special teams).

Chris Maragos is the fourth safety on the roster. The Eagles acquired him from the Seahawks via FA. He's not very good at the position but they really signed him to be a special teams ace. He's been making special teams plays all year and returned a blocked punt for a TD yesterday.

If Kovacs can compete with the last two and show off his special teams ability (which I heard he did in Miami), I don't see why he wont have a spot. As an Eagles fan, I love the Michigan to Philly pipeline. Runyan Sr., Avant, Graham, Molk, now Kovacs.

Sums it all up indeed. I might make it my signature.

Usual caveats applied (I

Usual caveats applied (I still support the players, love Michigan, etc, etc), I haven't watched a game since Utah. Personally, I just can't deal with the range of emotions every weekend. I'd probably feel differently if Michigan were similar to the Broncos when Tebow pulled off a string of 4th quarter miracles in a row. At least we'd actually be winning. But having the feeling that as soon as your team is trailing in the game it's practically over is disheartning.

From UM to Harbaugh

FWIW, if Harbaugh does go to

FWIW, if Harbaugh does go to Miami, he'll probably take his own staff with him, which would oust the current Miami staff. Miami's OC Bill Lazor was a darn good QB coach for the Eagles last year and has been doing a pretty good job turning around the Fin's offense this year. That doesn't mean he's fit to run a program, it's just another name that can be tossed in the coaching search pool.

I actually copied a link to

I actually copied a link to that news earlier but couldn't decide which thread to post it in, so I didn't. There isn't TOO much to read into it except it definitely adds a huge barrel of gas to the fire which is "49ers and Harbaugh aren't working out". Deion also says something to the effect of "we all know guys in the locker room", which leads me to believe he isn't that far off.

I'm not a fan either. I was

I'm not a fan either. I was watching a game from last week before I left and when I came back it was on. I figured I'd give it an ear when I heard "Michigan". I can never get those precious minutes back.

I knew it was bad when I was

I knew it was bad when I was watching the Paul Finebaum show (on the SEC network for crying out loud) and people were calling in from Bama, Mississippi, etc saying "Hey, who get's the Michigan job? Miles or Harbaugh?"

Very informative. Thank you.

Very informative. Thank you.

I'm well aware of the

I'm well aware of the definition of "sterotype." That was more of an assumption than a sterotype, and was also posted inquisitively. At least that was my intent. Instead of asking me if I was being sterotypical, you assumed I was. You're not here to assist or inform, therefore our conversation is done.

Sterotyping how? It was an

Sterotyping how? It was an honest question. What's the point of having an open discussion with closed minded individuals who aren't willing to shed light on the admittedly less informed? This is why I try to stay away from topics such as these. Everybody picks one side and negs to bolivia anyone who tries to show perspective or ask questions. If I wasn't clear enough in my questioning, that's my fault. But dont attack me for it.

Edit: Clearly a poor taste of a photo(removed) given the situation. For that I apologize. With that said, wouldn't this somewhat hurt her case if extortion is indeed involved. You would think that most rape/sexual assualt victims couldn't be bought out and would rather see their offender punished by law.

Negative. Mullen's success in

Negative. Mullen's success in the SEC is against inferior talent every year. I would know. I live right in the middle of SEC country. I'm not saying I know everything about the SEC and I wont pretend to. I'm also not saying that Mullen is a terrible coach. But to think Mullen is an above average coach because of his success at Miss St is off base. He has no history of beating top level competition at Miss St. Yet other teams have come in the SEC and done that and more. I agree that Hoke most likely couldn't do what Mullen is doing in the SEC. But that speaks more so to the negatives of Hoke than the positives of Mullen. The truth is Mullen is mediocre at best. Its just easy to see everybody else's lawn as green grass when you're living on dirt.

A ceiling is a ceiling.

A ceiling is a ceiling. Nobody is going to respect Mullen simply because the SEC is "hard". Especially when you have A&M and Mizzou who just entered the SEC 3 years ago having the success that they've had. People aren't going to respect the level of difficulty as opposed to success against the level of difficulty. Dan Mullen is average at the end of the day. That doesn't mean he'll always be. He's still rather young for a HC. But him being in the SEC is no excuse.

I see what you're saying. At

I see what you're saying. At the same time every coach has to start somewhere. There aren't many head coaches today that just walked of the street into a head coaching position. Most, if not all, started off as someone's OC, DC, WR coach, etc. I agree that it's a leap of faith, but it's a leap of faith many teams have taken. Besides, how many coaches in the country right now are in a good position, that are willing to leave? Not many, if any.

A couple thoughts

1. Jeff Long is a pretty good AD. His football knowledge is well above Brandon's, I can tell you that much. Long doesn't seem to put that much emphasis of importance in Arkansas' bball program which would have to change if he came to Michigan. But then again, you can't really blame him considering the fact that unless you're Florida, bball in the SEC is basically dead.

2. I definitely think that at this current moment Dan Mullen is a bit of an overraction. He's not necessarily a bad coach, he just seems to embody mediocrity. His teams just have a tendency to do exactly what they're projected to do. They won't upset any of the good teams (I wouldn't call the win over LSU an upset, they're not nearly as stacked across the board at they've been in years past, and a bit overrated), but they wont go out and suck against bad ones. I understand thats much better than what Miss St. used to be, but it's still not saying much.  I also wouldn't look at the whole "four bowl games in four years" thing considering a 6-6 record gets you into a bowl game. That's not really respectable, imo, unless it's the upper echelon of bowl games.

3. I have a question. Why not go after some NFL coordinators? I could see why it could be a bad idea in terms of longevity. They may just be looking for a quick job to prove their coaching prowess before heading back to the league. But if we interview a guy who's willing to be here for the long haul, I don't see why not. Just a thought.
