LeBron tried to change…

LeBron tried to change things up by claiming he would have gone to OSU had he not gone to the NBA...despite him saying he would have attended Duke to play for coach K.

This article lists Rod Moore…

This article lists Rod Moore as out for the year but isn't it possible he comes back at some point considering how early in the year this happened? Would he redshirt and come back next year?

I know all spring info is…

I know all spring info is taken with a grain of salt but I think there is more to be learned than we realize. Last season Harbaugh said a million guys would get drafted after the season and it definitely generated some eye rolls (maybe not on this site but elsewhere) - he appears to be right. I also seem to recall a number of players expressing quite a bit of confidence as to how the season would turn out and they were all right, we were the kings of the fucking world. If Loveland says Orji looks good, I believe him. If Edwards says he is more locked in on the little things and that he is primed for a big season, I believe him.

There was a lot of…

There was a lot of discussion about the Commanders trying to get Williams as he is from DC and their new OC (Kingsbury) worked with him in college...it could happen.

And Atlanta Falcons TE coach…

And Atlanta Falcons TE coach Kevin Koger.

Im also that guy. Mega…

Im also that guy. Mega blocks are trash

All things considered this…

All things considered this is a really good hire. Wink does not covet the head coaching job so Moore can be the man without fear of a mutiny. Wink can serve as a mentor to all the defensive coaches without making them feel like they were passed over by some young hotshot while helping to groom a successor. He is also a known NFL commodity with years of success, something the future NFL players on the team undoubtedly respect. Keeping Graham, Grant, and Johnson was paramount. Hard to believe those guys will leave a great thing at Michigan, where they can continue learning under an established NFL guy with serious coaching chops, for some mid-ass guy at a place like Texas. First time coaches often have an old head on staff to bounce ideas off and Wink fits that bill. There has been a lot of complaining about his inability to recruit but everything I have seen suggests he is a well liked coach, that could translate. Don't assume the worst.

IF its Wink he brings a lot…

IF its Wink he brings a lot of experience. Experience that is badly needed after the mass exodus of coaches. AND someone like Clink shouldn’t feel upstaged by a guy like Wink. Great guy to learn from as he continues his ascent. A younger/upstart could have Clink in his feelings about being passed over.

I live in Georgia and am…

I live in Georgia and am friends with a former UGA great (who occasionally passes along some insider tidbits). Georgia is the smart money next year. Yes their schedule is difficult but Kirby Smart is different. He is not Day. This guy is a proven winner and single minded in a way I think few other coaches are (think Saban but 25 years younger). He is not leaving for the NFL. He is not moving to another school for a bigger check. Returning an experienced star QB is the single biggest advantage in college football and Beck is already looking like a top 10 pick. I would not be shocked to see OSU have a great year and be in the running but I don't think they can keep up with Georgia.

I was watching a replay this…

I was watching a replay this morning and noticed his block. But also wished he simply turned around and got in Westover’s (37) way. Sainristil would have scored and the stadium would have exploded. Westover busted his ass to get back and make that tackle. Washington was an easy team to like before our game. I salute their efforts.

Georgia has lost 2 games in…

Georgia has lost 2 games in the past 3 years and returns their QB. Their defense and running game will always be excellent. Kirby Smart is also the maniac that Saban was with 20 less years of wear and tear. Georgia is going to bushwhack all comers next year.

Silas Bolden is very fun to…

Silas Bolden is very fun to watch. I cant see him coming but he is electric. Can someone like Maalik Murphy or Dante Moore change their minds? How does it work when a transfer “commits”?

For those who didn't watch…

For those who didn't watch long enough to hear Booger make his points he hits the nail on the head. Like no other analyst I have seen. He points out the dismissal of Don Brown and revamping the defense as THE thing the elevated Michigan from good to great. I realize one has to listen to/see Finebaum speak to get to that point but its worth it because that explains how we got this done. It had NOTHING to do with fucking signs.

Morgan and Sheridan need to…

Morgan and Sheridan need to pass along some intel to the good guys. I would.

Wow. Great minds think alike. Wow. Great minds think alike.
I spotted Seth standing with…

I spotted Seth standing with the Sklars in the stands during the broadcast. Does that count for anything?

I mentioned in this in…

I mentioned in this in threads at the time and its worth remembering: Blake Corum, Heisman contender and best RB in the country, did not play in that game. We were the only playoff team that went into that game without our Heisman finalist. Simply having Corum changes the outcome of that game. I also agree with everything said about the 2021 Georgia squad. We weren't ready for that smoke.

Beck staying makes a lot of…

Beck staying makes a lot of sense. Maye, Williams, Daniels, Penix, and Nix are all going to get a lot of attention. Stay another year, improve your stock, put yourself in that top 10 range. A few picks after JJ goes number 1 overall…

Allar may be a 5 star talent…

Allar may be a 5 star talent in terms of NFL measurables but he isn’t a 5 star college producer in the way that others are. Without the mobility angle its tough to be a true difference maker at the college level.

Their new coach was on…

Their new coach was on Georgia’s staff. I am sure he knows a thing or two about recruiting.  It is not unusual to see young up and coming coaches hit it big in recruiting right out of the gate. Whether he can win enough to keep it going is another matter.

MacDonald coming to Michigan…

MacDonald coming to Michigan is the real smoking gun as to why we got over the hump, not some pointless sign stealing - so annoying that no one in the media seems to grasp this. Its evident in how well the Ravens defense is playing. MacDonald is a stud and Minter is just like him. Don Brown's defense was good against the have-nots but got exposed against real talent. Credit to Harbaugh/the Harbaughs for looking at this and making the difficult decision to go in another direction.

I can usually tell if…

I can usually tell if someone is being sarcastic on this forum, even without the /s, but when the source is Richard Johnson is does make things a bit harder. I kept reading and it appears there is a real man/source with this name...and he gets the job done...nice.

Georgia is going to beat FSU…

Georgia is going to beat FSU. Kirby Smart is not the type of coach to see this as a throwaway game because he missed the playoffs. He is coaching for three years down the road. Thats how he is. And I love that about him.

While that would be beyond…

While that would be beyond annoying from an optics standpoint there is no guarantee Moore would be better right away. McCord was perfectly good this year. He was also a five star. Maybe the issue is everything else…including the coaching.

I think he is referring to…

I think he is referring to Oregon and Washington. Michigan, Washington, OSU, Oregon, PSU would be the 5

FSU is playing Georgia…

FSU is playing Georgia. Kirby is going to open up a can. Bet that.

Penix is legit. Those WRs…

Penix is legit. Those WRs may be better top to bottom than OSUs. And DeBoer is a fantastic coach. Our secondary is really going to be tested.

DJU is not joining up for a…

DJU is not joining up for a rebuild. He picked Oregon State because they were already a good team looking for a QB. Moore’s father (apparently) said he wants to play behind a line that will protect him. That is a couple of years away. Chiles (the other Oregon State QB) is presumably the penciled in starter at Oregon State. I realize Oregon State will be in a JV league next year but there will be some continuity on staff. Their stud RB (Martinez) said he was coming back so they could be a good team still. I am guessing Smith will get a midwestern QB looking to move up. Something like Toledo’s QB. For example. Staee is going to be bad next year. Why would a “name” QB sign up for that?

I will take that bet. DJU is…

I will take that bet. DJU is almost certainly staying somewhere out West. The new John Smith is a good coach but its hard to believe DJU would head for a rebuild at Staee.

I assume you are referring…

I assume you are referring to Damien Martinez. I saw something he said along the lines of he was staying put and would give the next coach a shot. That is very refreshing to hear and a bit shocking considering how good of a player he is. He would look fantastic behind Michigan's o-line but good on him.

Yes. Agreed. He is just the…

Yes. Agreed. He is just the example that comes to mind of the portal not working in a QBs favor. He should have gone somewhere like San Jose St. Hopefully Kaliakmanis makes a good decision and goes somewhere that fits his ability.

There are already a bunch of…

There are already a bunch of QBs in the portal (with the number sure to grow exponentially) and some of them will be left holding the bag. Too many of these guys think the grass is greener.  Speaking of Johnathan Smith - his former QB at Oregon State ended up at third string at OSU because he didn’t want to fight it out at Oregon State. The need for immediate satisfaction is ridiculous.

I concede that point after…

I concede that point after reading your column. I'm okay with fine tuning my perspective. But those rankings suggest Jadeveon Clowney level of production. These guys are absolutely pedestrian in terms of pass rush. Which is fantastic for us. Mike Elston > Larry Johnson

I am simply saying they are…

I am simply saying they are not top 5 players, nor do the produce like it. We coach up lower rated recruits and get similar/better production. All season we have been force-fed the JTT hype and I just don't see it. Maybe recruits should pay attention.

Sawyer and JTT may have been…

Sawyer and JTT may have been top 5 players in their class but they don’t play like it. They are excellent run defenders, okay, I can accept that. But these guys aren't Chase Young, or the Bosas. They aren’t game wreckers and without a lethal pass rush that defense is incomplete.

JTT may be an excellent run…

JTT may be an excellent run defender but he was invisible in terms of pass rush. I noticed one particular play where Barner had him locked up one on one. He is not a first round DE. Everyone needs to stop with that.

They played one good team…

They played one good team all year (PSU) and got boat-raced. I don’t get too confident about a high stakes matchup but it does not get much better than this from Michigan’s perspective.

This is a good hire for…

This is a good hire for Staee. And maybe he won’t be a dick as he has no skin in the game. I get the self preservation on Smith’s part but this is a brutal loss for Oregon State. He could have stayed, played a MWC schedule, and hoped for an at-large to the playoff, but I get it. He likely sees Staee as a stepping stone to something better. I guess get paid bigger money to do the same thing you were doing at Oregon State.

Why would Washington drop…

Why would Washington drop below OSU if they lose? They will be 12-1 with their only loss coming against Oregon, a team they already beat. 12-1 is better than 11-1. And they will be a conference title game participant, unlike OSU.

I enjoyed watching all of…

I enjoyed watching all of the whiney, bitch ass, teams fall on their faces. Purdue (unfortunately beat Indiana to finish the season), Illinois, Nebraska, and Staee all fell short of bowl eligibility. FUCKING LOSERS.

And Minnesota (Fleck showed a ton of respect to Michigan and didn’t whine about shit) will get a bowl invite despite finishing 5-7 due to (I presume) academic achievement. Pretty great year all around.

The corner you speak of was…

The corner you speak of was not on the field for a big chunk of the second half including the portion where he caught his touchdown. Harrison Jr is great. But he needed to be transcendent in this game for OSU to win. He wasn't, partly because Johnson is an excellent, and ascending, player and partly because McCord is JAG.

Will was hopping around…

Will was hopping around celebrating with the boys after the win. I think he will be fine with some R&R. But fine is not good enough to keep up with Marvin Harrison Jr. That is why he was sitting.

We have played so many of…

We have played so many of the same opponents…would be fairly easy to do a bit of head to head. I know that won’t happen but how did we do against Minnesota and Staee because methinks we whooped them both worse. All things “press” are virtually pointless these days.

I was at that Super Bowl in…

I was at that Super Bowl in Minneapolis. Rooting for the Pats. It was a crushing way to lose the game but I immediately appreciated that it was Brandon Graham who made the play. Anyone else and it would have felt much worse. The Pats didn’t punt in that game but lost because Belichick decided to make an example out of Malcolm Butler. Hows that Patriot Way working out for you (now that Brady is gone) coach?

Fashanu better go to a team…

Fashanu better go to a team with a good O line coach because a lot of what he has shown is just being a better athlete than the DEs he goes up against. That will end very soon. Also, anyone spending a first round pick on JTT is an idiot. You can pick up 6'4" 270 lb guys with marginal athletic traits in any round. His production is unimpressive and he is still getting too much love off of his recruiting profile. He is from Washington, not Florida. If he were a recruit from SEC country he would have been a run of the mill 4 star. I do not get it.

I actually tried to find an…

I actually tried to find an email for Pablo after seeing him on Around the Horn (which I was only watching for the Michigan takes). I am not on social media so I didn't make it far but I was more disappointed in his take than anyone else's thus far because of who he is and what he typically stands for.

I also thought Maalik Murphy…

I also thought Maalik Murphy was a reasonable option because IF Arch is the anointed one Murphy's time in Texas will come to an end sooner rather than later; to be clear I am not saying Arch is going to be any good, that is just how it has been framed. And Michigan was hard after Murphy before he chose Texas. I also think Riley Leonard at Duke makes a lot of sense because it is likely his coach will be leaving for greener pastures. Duke is a high level academic institution so a transfer to Michigan makes sense. Of course Leonard could stay put, or transfer to whatever school Elko ends up at, but a year at Michigan, a complete team, makes a ton of sense for a guy looking to make himself appealing to NFL scouts.

Its amazing to me how many…

Its amazing to me how many of these fuckwads think he was crying for no reason. Moore was plucked from the absolute obscurity of CMU by Harbaugh. He was elevated to O line coach, and then OC in quick succession. He was then personally chosen to lead the number 3 team in the country in its biggest game of the year by a man under fire as he was identified as THE leader of men on the coaching staff. Over men with more experience and longer tenures on the staff including the head coach’s own son. All while being the only offensive line/OC in the country. A role (OC) that is almost never held by a black man, let alone a 37 year-old black man. Harbaugh has put him in a position to be a head coach of a major program next year, possibly even Michigan’s next head coach. How many black head coaches are there? Let alone at major programs? Moore understood the magnitude of being selected to lead this team over everyone else and was overjoyed to get the W for guys when their backs were against the wall. I can’t figure out why no one in the media took any time to think about this beyond the tears themselves. Sure shit ass people like Dakich but I expected better from someone like Pablo Torre who I thought understood the importance of inclusivity/representation.

I was thinking something…

I was thinking something similar about Dante Moore - he could definitely look around after the season and IF JJ leaves it will be as a first rounder. Moore could step right in and play in an offense that actually nurtures what he is good at. UCLA was never winning big with a true freshman QB and they shouldn’t have tried. Now they have benched him and I am sure he is not happy about that. Chip Kelly’s offense has a lot of bells and whistles but does it actually protect the QB with the running game and O line? Come back Moore. We will forgive you.

I wondered the same thing -…

I wondered the same thing - hopefully he likes the big chair too much to step back but its clear things aren't working at Akron.
